Please stop
Me and some other fans have noticed an uptick in some disturbing behavior from some Vinesauce fans and I want to speak up about it.
Please, stop making sexually explicit posts/art about Vinny and Joel. I know for a fact both of them have stated their discomfort about this content throughout the years, and yet I keep seeing people either drawing them in a sexual way or just posting fucked up shit about them on public platforms. If you feel the need to ask me for proof of them saying that, you are part of the problem. They shouldn't have to say that they don't want people making explicit posts about them, that should be common courtesy. If you don't want to stop, I can't stop you. But at least don't publically tag your delusional fantasies for everyone else to see. Keep it to yourself.
These are real people, with real lives, and real feelings. Online fandom may have made it seem acceptable to act like this in recent years, but it's not. IT IS ESPECIALLY WRONG WHEN THEY HAVE ALREADY SET THEIR BOUNDARIES ABOUT IT BEFORE.
It's disgusting that so many people think it's okay to go past someone's personal boundaries for their own pleasure. Real, living people are not your OCs that you can dress up and parade around in whatever way you want. If you want a character that you can make that kind of art about, make an OC. Find a TV show or movie. A book, a comic. Anything else. And, If someone asks you to stop doing something that makes them uncomfortable, listen to them. It's that simple. I recognize that many of you are young and have been conditioned to see this stuff as normal, but the sooner you grow out of that the better it will be for your own life and relationships. If you are a full ass adult and still think acting like this is okay, then I don't know what to tell you.
It doesn't make sense that so many of you claim to be fans and care about people while repeatedly doing things that make them uncomfortable. They are regular people and deserve to be treated with the same respect as anyone else. If you would probably get in trouble for sexual harassment in real life, don't say that same shit online. Respect people's boundaries in the same way you'd want them to respect yours.

Me: I have never wanted children, I don’t feel comfortable around them and would not be able to give them my best. Plus, having them would severely impede on my finances. Greatly impacting what kind of life I can provide for them. This could cause resentment that could easily spin out of control and I am afraid it might turn abusive like my father did and don’t want to do that to a child.
Them: It’s different when they’re yours! What about your partner?? god, you’re so selfish!!
Me: *blinks in did you listen to ANYTHING I just said*

8 y/o me wanted to be Puss in boots so bad. I watched the original movie every day for at least a week and then I played the Xbox 360 Kinect game and put on boots and a sombrero hat and swished around a kebab skewer while playing (cuz it’s motion controls.) This was the best experience of my life
Look at the game. Who wouldn’t want to be him

I know some dickheads have now decided that Judaism is the "bad, violent, terrorist religion" and Islam is the "good, peaceful" one, which is only to be expected of white people, but how much of an issue is it currently? Like I've seen some USAmericans sharing how the Islamic faith shapes Gazans values and perseverance (good) except with that distinct white hippie "I'm about to imprint on this like the world's most racist duck" vibe (bad), but I didn't think they're already turning on Judaism in numbers.
Do they realize that Christianity is also the same kind of comfort to Christian minorities in Asia and Africa? That it was Buddhists that genocided the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Tamils in Sri Lanka? That Hindu fundamentalists are even now trying to ethnically cleanse Muslims in India? How Hindus and Christians are terrorized and persecuted in Pakistan? That Muslims have a history of persecuting and ethnically cleansing Jews too?
Really tired of asking y'all to be normal about people's religions man. There's no religion that's inherently violent or exceptionally peaceful. It's just like any other ideology that becomes a weapon in the hands of ethnic power. Interrogate power, not religion, and respect people's belief systems insofar as they aren't in your business.
Edit: I've amended the "long history" of Muslim persecution of Jews because it might be misleading in the current political climate. Zionism and antisemitic Arab nationalism are twin births resulting directly from Christian colonization, and Islamic empires tended to actually be more tolerant of other religions compared to Christianity, especially Judaism, which was considered a sibling religion. Antisemitism wasn't ideologically entrenched in Islamic tradition. It's simply that ethno-religious power will lead to ethno religious domination and intermittent cleansing of minorities, and Islam is no exception. Humans be humaning always.

so past the point of changing people's minds about me!! like i actually just realized today that i don't care. i am so much more capable of shrugging my shoulders at someone's preconceived notions of me than i used to be. throughout my life i will probably run into many a person who will have a negative impression of me that they will not be able to dispel (or will go out of their way to fuel for the sake of their confirmation bias or whatever it is). but i will also have the honor of meeting a lot of amazing people who won't do that and who will actually see me for who i really am and will affirm that w their thoughts and actions. so long as i know who i am, anyone who's willing to make the effort will know who i am too. and that's all that matters

the pathologic Kin is largely fictionalized with a created language that takes from multiple sources to be its own, a cosmogony & spirituality that does not correlate to the faiths (mostly Tengrist & Buddhist) practiced by the peoples it takes inspirations from, has customs, mores and roles invented for the purposes of the game, and even just a style of dress that does not resemble any of these peoples', but it is fascinating looking into specifically to me the sigils and see where they come from... watch this:
P2 Layers glyphs take from the mongolian script:
while the in-game words for Blood, Bones and Nerves are mongolian directly, it is interesting to note that their glyphs do not have a phonetic affiliation to the words (ex. the "Yas" layer of Bones having for glyph the equivalent of the letter F, the "Medrel" layer of Nerves having a glyph the equivalent of the letter È,...)
the leatherworks on the Kayura models', with their uses of angles and extending lines, remind me of the Phags Pa Script (used for Tibetan, Mongolian, Chineses, Uyghur language, and others)
some of the sigils also look either in part or fully inspired by Phags Pa script letters...
some look closer to the mongolian or vagindra (buryat) script
looking at the Herb Brides & their concept art, we can see bodypainting that looks like vertical buryat or mongolian script (oh hi (crossed out: Mark) Phags Pa script):
shaped and reshaped...

I really do love your writing and Salvage gets me through when I am sad or depressed. However, I was wondering, how do you cope when someone who wrote a review didn’t like your writing? If you’ve had this before… I had one today and I am dejected. I’m working through my perfectionism and I keep telling myself, “my writing isn’t for everyone and it’s okay.” Any advice?
If it was unsolicited, especially on a fanfic? Delete it, block the person if you feel like, then go do your rage activity of choice before forgetting about it forever. That person is rude and doesn't deserve your time anymore than someone bumping into you on the street.
I've also found it useful to actively think of my fanfic as writing practice, and not even my brain expects perfection from writing practice. It also frees you do Try Cool Things.
Now take this digital blanket and cup of hot chocolate and go reread your nice comments.

if you don't like Taylor having a cane and being disabled I'm fandom culture because he has a cane in the canon you might wanna look and see what that says about you. especially if your reasoning is aesthetic reasons or it "doesn't seem realistic"
