Would anyone be interested in an Owl House Fangame RPG? (Spoilers for finale insuing)
I'm considering turning my old fanfic plots into a playable fangame, but I wanna make sure that's something that people would actually, yknow, play. So, here's my ideas!
1. Season 4 "The Game"
This would primarily be a game focused on wrapping up some unfinished storylines/rebuilding the Isles. I believe one of the main bosses would likely be the Titan Trappers since they were puppetted in WAD.
I think this would be the closest to a traditional rpg game, but I'm leaning more towards an unconventional combat style considering the way magic works in TOH. Regardless, combat wouldn't be a primary focus of the game. It'd be more exploration based and decision based, fleshing out the other areas of The Boiling Isles and all that jazz.
Possibly, the final boss may be the other archivists? I think in this one, by the end, you'll have the Collector in your party.
2. Side Stories
This would be more so a collection of routes trying to tell the stories that, sadly, The Owl House team never got the time to tell. These likely wouldn't actually be RPG games, but they're RPG maker, but I'm not sure how many of them there'd be, but I do have a few ideas for various routes, like:
-Wittebros Backstory (You play as Caleb, and it covers bits and pieces over the years up until... Well, you know the rest.)
-Hunter, Dale, and The Bat Queen (Focuses on two different interconnected plots. One is a story about The Golden Guard being tasked to find the last known Palistrom forest, only for those plans to get detailed by one sweet old man. Yadda yadda, learning ensues. And, the other is a story focused on Hunter going into the Palistrom forest with a few friends to start on some conservation efforts, facing his past, and him getting a new job.)
-Divorce Simulator (I think you know what this one's about :) )
-Vee (Have no idea what this one would be about, other than a game adaption of that MorningMark concept of Cabin ???- or one focusing on just her adapting to the human realm.)
3. TOH/GF/Amphibia Crossover
Okay, so I know probably nobody will vote for this one, but it's one that I have too many ideas for!
Basically, it's just going off the idea that after The Collector got that gross green stuff on him, from Belos, he was affected by Titian magic; screwing up his magic a little and making him semi-immortal rather than fully immortal. The Collector says they're going off to "grow up," but really, their main goal is to just find their siblings and find out what's going on with them.
This leads the little guy to the last known whereabouts of one of his siblings, Gravity Falls. Again, the dude's magic is kind of iffy, and he ends up crashlanding near the Mystery Shack and gets taken in by the new Mr. And Mrs. Mystery... Who... Somehow, are way more connected to Luz than he thought.
This is the closest thing to an RPG out of all of them because the main focus of the game is basically trying to stop the multiverse from splitting entirely. It'd be the casts from both TOH and GF; with a healthy addition of amphibia references.
In this universe, all of the archivists are just God's from other Disney Channel cartoons. And yeah. Told ya I had a lot of ideas!
Btw if anyone would be down to help either with writing, art, or music- please dm me! I can totally do it on my own, but I thought it might be nice to put it out there.

I made a Pizza Tower AU! : Candy Castle
So the jist of it is, it’s a Swap AU, based off of the hit fangame Sugary Spire, but Instead of swapping the personalities and roles of the characters, it just swaps the roles of the characters, keeping the personalities of the characters the same. This AU idea was inspired off of the Undertale AU TS!Underswap that does the same thing. Some swapped roles are based of Sugary Spire and some are just my idea.
In this AU, Peppino never went into war, (yes i know that McPig said it wasn’t canon but shhh), because of that, he never got his pizza business going. He instead became shrouded in debt, needing to work unfulfilling dead-end jobs to make ends meet, as his involvement as a war veteran actually paid the bills and the pizza shop he could have bought. Instead, Theodore/Teddy Gobbstopper (The Noise), a New Yorker stereotype, sugar-obsessed candy confectioner buys out the building that would’ve became Peppino’s Pizza Shop, now named “Teddy’s Candy”.
A corporate candy company builds a nearby castle/factory across from Teddy’s candy shop. The money hungry boss of the company sends his mascot of the company, Granny Candydimples who warns Teddy that they’ll smash his candy shop with a comically large hammer if he doesn’t do anything about it. Teddy gives in, pops in a few butterscotch candies in his mouth and sugar rushes to the Candy Castle at Mach 4 speed.
Some Tidbits of the Characters shown so far! :
Teddy Gobbstopper - The Noise:
He gained his earnings as a TV show actor for half of his life. As a sugar-addicted maniac, he’s always been relying on candy to aid his needs at all times. His love for candy sparked his desires to become a candy maker and is the reason why he’s always on a never-ending sugar rush, annoying the hell out of people when he’s around others.  But because of rival corporations stealing his customers, he’s become in debt.
Suzy Sugarplum - Noisette :
She owns a separate candy shop of her own and is also affected by the rival candy corporation. Teddy and Suzy fell in love after meeting in the Candy Castle, although Teddy tries to hide these feelings. She later tames a hedgehog named Sock. She’s very optimistic and silly, but she means serious business when it comes to candy sales.
Mr. LollyStick - Pizzahead:
He’s Teddy’s landlord and accountant who always bugs him to pay his bills by acting overly annoying in a joyful type of way, popping out of absolutely nowhere and playing endless pranks if you don’t pay your taxes on time. While he doesn’t care about the money as much, he does want to make ends meet.
Captain Crackle - Peppino Spaghetti :
Full name, Peppino Ravioli Crackle, has been in debt for years, trying to work his way into finally fulfilling his lifelong dream of owning a Pizza Parlor. He’s been subjected to signing a painstaking lifelong contract of selling his likeness to be the mascot of a sugary cereal brand, Captain Crackle, a joyful, charming cereal pirate roaming the 7 milky seas. He even had to change his last name as part of the contract. He’s a short-tempered anxious mess, constantly wondering if he’ll make it out of debt and out of a job he hates. He seeks comfort and joy out of the little time he has out of work, making pizza and singing opera tunes in the kitchen.
Mr. Gus - Gustavo :
Like Peppino, Gus, full name Gustavo, also is in debt, hoping to also open a restaurant of his own. He’s Captain Crackle’s sidekick who does most of the work and he’s also a bunny themed mascot for his own cereal Chocklinz, where he always gets bullied by goblins who tell him “Chocklinz are for Goblins”. He secretly works on the side as a bartender at a hidden place called Gus’s Soda Tavern.
Oh, and here’s the Swap Chart! :
The Noise <--> Peppino
Noisette <--> Gustavo
Pizzahead <--> Mr. Stick
Snick <--> Brick
Gerome the Janitor <--> Pepperman
The Priest <--> The Vigilante
The Fake Peppino counterpart would be a Fake Ted, but maybe instead of being like a mutant science experiment maybe it will be a weird rusty robot version of Teddy,
Granny Pizza (The pizza that guides you through the tutorial and stuff) <--> Pizzaface
Mort The Chicken from the hit game Mort The Chicken <--> Cookie Blair from the Copyright Hit game Cookie’s Bustle
I’ll be making a Part 2 in the near future! Stay tuned fellas!
(Oh, and if you want to make fan art of my AU, please do! Just be sure to credit me as the creator of the AU and link my blog page!)

Thoughts on Project Eden’s Garden
So, I played PEG, the Danganronpa fangame, and I have couple of thoughts.
First of all, it’s really professionally done. If that wasn’t a stated fangame, you wouldn’t be able to tell much of a difference from V3. Voice acting is also good, particularly Tozu’s VA makes fantastic job at making a villain that takes plenty of good things from Monokuma but is still his own unique thing.
The prologue trial over a dummy from a past event is a good introduction. It serves well as a demo case and establishes the main players of the cast. Even though Eva is more active during pre-crime portion, but Grace and Wolfgang do make a strong impression. Ulysses was also good, and everyone else was alright. But the case was too small to have everyone a chance to shine. But they do an interesting collection of DR-like characters.
My mixed feelings are with the protagonist. I do appreciate the idea of having an anti-hero, which is a good change of pace, but Damon… The writers are following the outline that was used for other, more pure, Ronpa’s heroes, and it doesn’t work that well with Damon. Particularly, we didn’t get any early detail about their past, which wasn’t that necessary, because most of them were using an everyman archetype. But Damon is supposed to be successful, which makes him arrogant, but we know nothing about his successes. In the Groundhog Day Murray plays similar archetype of a somewhat successful guy that let too much get into his head, but he does have a clearly established success of working for the local TV. Damon narrates about his past successes, but gives no specifics that establish his reason to think of himself highly. He comes quite ignorant, being unaware of Wenona, the actual elitist top dog of the group.
He does improve during the debate, being able to keep his cool through it. I like also the side he shows if you use Pathos. Damon acknowledges that Wolfgang maybe isn’t making the most convincing argument, but he is the only one experienced with actual crimes, on an Ultimate level, so him stating that 28 stab wounds is obviously too fucking extreme for self-defense means something. This side of Damon shows he respects genuine talent and is capable of recognizing proper authority on a particular subject, even if he could’ve undermined them with arguments. It’s especially good moment, because it depends on the player.
But the dude still knows nothing about tact. I understand that he is shocked like everyone else, when the Killing Game is revealed, and I agree that people shouldn’t forget about being realistic in such scenarios. And I agree with him that he has contributed more to the debate than the commie who thought the gun was the murder weapon. But there were other situations where Ultimate Debater showed no tact whatsoever, while the guy should have some knowledge on swaying people to his side.
It’s fine to have a MC that needs to learn his lesson, but we still need to understand from where MC is coming from. Like, Damon has an experience with some Ultimate Pointless Talent that has was just using his fame to encourage his supporters to attacks those that criticize him. Maybe Damon ended up beaten up, for making a perfectly sound a logical critique of that Ultimate. Which is why he despises violence and undeserved recognition, and sees that Ultimate in every other that is in ‘noncontributing to the society’ category. This is why ‘we are Ultimates, therefore we all are here to improve the world!’ makes him unable to stop from being condescending. It’s just an example, it doesn’t have to be a tragic backstory, but it has to be something. Other example is showing Damon genuinely hard working to be able to contribute to the society, while seeing other Ultimate peers just enjoying fruits of their fame after they got their titles.
Overall, I appreciate the production values and the writing, but the novel anti-hero protagonist could have a bit better introduction.

To make it clear, the ARG is NOT like Welcome Home, I'm sick and tired of people saying I stole the concept or whatever, NO, I did not get bullied out of the fandom, and NO its not because of the Fangame. People keep assuming I was profiting of the work, when there was NO signs of me asking for money for the fangame in the first place. I asked for money to pay any coders willing to code with me, I abandoned the Game after Clown said no, they were in fact nice in their response, and wasn't too harsh with me, and said they didn't make it clear, as for the ARG itself, I made it clear I didn't copy Welcome Home. it was a previous project of a game I plan to have but I repurposed into this ARG. Right now, I'm not in the correct headspace and I will be taking a time to learn from my stupid mistakes, it's clear I can't really listen to directions and I need time to myself.
A lot of things is going on currently which caused me to make stupid decisions. it's all on me yes, but sometimes my brain can't catch up to what I'm doing before it's too late, and it ends up with me making stupid decisions that gets me reprimanded, I don't do well under pressure and its clear I can't even be in certain spaces if I keep acting out like this. Shit like the Earn it Act, Worrying about where I am going to live and all that is preventing me from doing what's right. I am not saying it as an excuse its just shitty things are happening behind the scenes and I need to sort all that out.
Steampunkochi was an ARG supposed to keep the game project I had in mind alive but... It ended up with people linking it to Welcome Home, accusing me of abhorrent shit, and making a big fat fuss about it when all I wanted is to keep an old project from 2022 alive.
And about the happiness of others. You all say I don't do shit for other people, when I fucking did I had to deal with someone's ex harassing them because they were scared to speak up, I had given people advice time and time again, and all I get is unwarrented asks telling me how pathetic and mentally ill I am, yes, I am mentally ill, yes I do all sorts of bad shit. But just because I do doesn't make me a fucking terrible person.
I'm tired of this, all I wanted to do is help others and develop a space and fandom where people can be themselves, and it appears that I can't because my ARG is too similar to Welcome Home, if anything unlike Welcome Home, the ARG I have isn't a TV Show, It isn't a puppet show, it's a FUCKING CANNED game that is supposed to be a farming simulator that had some weird shit going on.
But NO, people have to say "MUH MUH ITS JUST LIKE WELCOME HOME, YOU FUCKING COPYCAT!!!!1111!!!!!11!11!111!!!!!" What part of IT'S NOT FUCKING WELCOME HOME DO YOU UNDERSTAND? THESE ARE THE SAME FANBRATS THAT HARASSED CLOWN INTO MAKING IT AN ARG!
I'm sick of people telling me what to do with my OWN creations, I work hard on shit, I take the critcism on the nose BECAUSE IT'S WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO! I can't defend myself without it seeming like I'm playing the victim, I can't explain my actions because I. AM. ALWAYS. LIKE. THIS.
OH GET BETTER, OH DO THIS, OH DO THAT, TAKE A BREAK!
HOW THE FUCK CAN I TAKE A FUCKING BREAK!? I HAVE NO PLACE TO GO, I HAVE NO FUCKING LIFE OUTSIDE THE INTERNET, WHO ARE YOU TO DICTATE WHAT I DO?
In fact, all you mfers who say "Well I have yada yada yada and I don't do yada yada yada. And I am fine., what makes YOU different, if I can change, you can too!"
WELL THATS EASY FOR YOU TO SAY, WHEN YOU CHANGE, YOU CHANGE FOR THE BETTER, WHEN I CHANGE... I CHANGE FOR THE WORSE.
I KEEP GETTING ASSHOLES IN MY DMS AND INBOXES TELLING ME I DESERVE TO BE RAPED AND ABUSED, ALL BECAUSE OF MY SHITTY BEHAVIOR I CAN'T SEEM TO HANDLE, I'M A HUMAN BEING A MAKE TONS OF MISTAKES I EXPECT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT, BUT NO, I MAKE SO MANY MISTAKES THAT PEOPLE ASSUME I'M DOING SHIT ON PURPOSE.
Here's what we're NOT going to do.
Do not twist my words, I did not ask for donations for the GAME, I specifically stated it was to PAY for coders.
Do NOT equate my work to Clown's I take inspirations from all sources, do whatever, compare it to DDLC, compare it to If You See This Shut Off The Game, ANYTHING, but not Welcome Home.
I stopped developing the game via CLOWN'S wish, just because I stopped doesn't mean I was bullied out of it, I respect others wishes unlike most of you.
4. What I do in my spare business doesn't involve you, if I say stop or leave me alone, then that's final.
5. I don't have to stand for this shit, if I say, "Don't do that" then that's that.
6. For you fanbrats - Just because something LOOKS similar to Welcome Home, no, no its not. It's fucking not. I told each and every one of you, most of my inspirations are from other medias. And yet, you all insist, "FONT, AND CHARACTERS? STEALING FROM CLOWN OH! OH! JAIL FOR PLEASENTSPARK! JAIL FOR 1000 YEARS!" ALL OF YOU HAVE FAILED TO GIVE ME ONE THING THAT RESEMBLES IT. BEFORE WELCOME HOME, I WAS INTERESTED IN MAKING ARGS, I JUST HAD BAD TIMING.
7. If you're here just to start shit, go fuck yourselves, I had enough of this shit, and I'm at my breaking point.
Okay, that's all, Steampunkochi will be worked on soon.

How to write a You Don’t Know Jack-style trivia question
by Haley Walker, the head writer of Salty Trivia with Candy Barre, a YDKJ fangame
The anatomy of a YDKJ question
As the tagline says, YDKJ is where “high culture and pop culture collide”. A good YDKJ question is first and foremost a soft trivia question that most people can reasonably confidently expect to guess. It also has a little pop culture coating around it, like the hard candy shell on a Tootsie Pop.
The “pop culture” bit could be references to movies, video games, music, memes, or TV shows (or their modern equivalent, online streaming service originals). It could even just be a stupid pun.
Asstronomy How many Earths could you stuff into the volume of Uranus before it just couldn’t take any more? A. 6 B. 63 C. 630 D. 6300 —YDKJ2011 E1 Q1
Oh, and of course, official YDKJ questions have a lot of fart jokes in them.
High-to-Pop Balance
The questions should be fully understandable with cursory knowledge of the reference in question. For example, someone who has only kind of heard the name “Paul Rudd” in passing could get all the questions right in YDKJ2015’s Paul Rudd episode. In fact, none of the questions ask anything about Paul Rudd.
Let There Be Rudd If Paul Rudd’s real first name were like Paul the Apostle’s original first name, what would he be called? A. Raul Rudd B. Saul Rudd C. Gaul Rudd D. Simon Rudd —YDKJ2015 “Paul Rudd Episode” Q4
Be careful, though, to make the pop culture reference clear enough, without sacrificing the understandability of the trivia question underneath it.
The ideal YDKJ question is a Tootsie Pop, with a soft trivia center inside a hard pop culture shell. When there’s too much lollipop, it’s too much effort to get to the tootsie roll center. Too little lollipop, it’s just a tootsie roll on a stick.
Examples
Let’s review some fanmade YDKJ questions.
This is a well-balanced question.
Moderating’s Hard Say you were spamming in a server. Mostly what were you caught doing? A. posting multiple chicken pics at once B. starting beef with others C. slapping someone with a large fish D. not shutting up about pork
The high culture layer is what kind of meat Hormel’s luncheon meat Spam is made of, and the pop culture layer is the act of spamming that the Monty Python skit gave name to.
This is a question with too much pop culture.
Mythic Baked Liquids Guess what Pastry's Skill Quote this rhymes with In test, Delight of Denise. 1: You are able to control all water and have a Crush on the Moon. 2: You want your Enemies to WITNESS something. 3: Perhaps something about the SEAS?
This question is all pop culture, and requires more than a cursory knowledge of what "Pastry's Skill Quote" is. (The question writer then clarified that it's supposed to be some kind of thing from Cookie Run, but that doesn't explain anything and doesn't cause us to be able to guess that the right answer is "Witness the might of the seas", and that’s kind of the point of why this question is so unbalanced.)
I would raise an example of a question with too much high culture, but ample of them are already in Jeopardy!, so I won’t harp on about it.
Pitfalls
Some sources are not very reliable, including Wikipedia, but there are a lot of other places that are less reputable.
Names of phobias come up in fanmade YDKJ questions quite often, but the vast majority of them are invented by some random person with a less than stellar understanding of Greek and Latin. If you can find it in Wikipedia’s list of phobia names that aren’t in the “Jocular and fictional phobias” section, it’s safe to use. Otherwise, if you can’t find a medical paper that uses that name, it’s wise to discard it.
Terms of venery are another iffy subject. Aside from the very famous “flock of birds” (but “murder of crows”), “pack of dogs/wolves”, “herd of cows/horses”, “pride of big cats”, and “school of fish”, you should generally shy away from them.
Writing patterns
There are some common pitfalls that a YDKJ question can fall into, most of which arise from the wording not being clear enough. Here are some phrases to mitigate the issues.
“Which of these [things] is the MOST/LEAST likely”
This pattern is used when there are multiple correct answers, or the options all apply to a different degree. It is also used to signal that it’s a matter of opinion or simple wordplay.
“Based on [criterion]” or “Because [criterion]”
This pattern is used to clarify why. I will show you a bad YDKJ question for a change.
Pixar Movies Make Me Gassy If I wanted to reenact the movie Up, what would I definitely not want to attach to my house? A. hydrogen balloons B. helium balloons C. carbon dioxide balloons D. ammonia balloons —YDKJ2011 E25 Q6
The intended answer was C. carbon dioxide balloons, because it was the only one of the three had a lower density than air at room temperature. However, you wouldn’t want to attach the rest of them to your house for various reasons: Hydrogen and ammonia are both hazardous to handle because they are flammable, while we are running out of helium, so they would be very expensive to use. This is not even to mention that ammonia has a very strong odor. (Did I mention YDKJ has a lot of fart jokes?)
Adding the phrase “Based on” to the question, I can rewrite the question to clarify why Cookie would definitely not want to attach to his house:
Hydrogen: Because it is the most flammable, what would I...
Helium: Based on the price, what would I...
Carbon Dioxide: Based on its density, what would I...
Ammonia: Based on the level of health hazard, what would I...
“If/Say/Suppose [premise]. [question]?”
This pattern is used to introduce a premise that too complex to be woven into the question itself. If you need multiple sentences to introduce the premise of the question, even after the little rant Cookie sometimes does before the questions, you may want to reword the question, work on it some more, or scrap it.

if you see honeycomb answer the same infodump its cuz I want more ppl to know of this bitch (also I forgot to hand honeycomb the image of Charlie-)
SO, to start things off Charlie is a fandom oc for the fnaf fangame Dayshift at Freddy's (specifically a dsaf 3 oc for au reasons) but theres a lot more to him then that- right now Imma b honest his backstory is the more fleshed out thing then his current story cuz despite my dsaf hyperfixation (which is sorta kinda dying out) I was never rlly able to get thru watching a dsaf 3 playthrough so lemmie just graaaaaab the backstory and slap it here (no I'm not I'm tying it out cuz I only gave a tiny bit of it to Lem-)
so Charlie was born & raised in a small town in Colorado with a childhood that wasnt too odd but wasnt great either, he was bullied a lot for being feminine and his parents tried to steer him towards more stereotypically masculine activities & interests but it took several years before it ever really affected him, another issue was Charlie had undiagnosed ADHD & pretty bad mood swings which affected him quite alot and led to his parents usually being angry at him for things he didnt understand he was doing but he was usually resiliant even if he was secretly close to breaking down he just tried to ignore it & move on.
Later on in his life he became super into old-school radio and tv show hosts who had that whole vibe yk? I dunno how to word it so Imma assume you know- but anyways he got super into the persona those radio and show hosts had and started to imitate them almost down to a T and was almost perfectly able to mimic the typical voice they had in his late teens which he used to help further him in his plan to become a host for a simple entertainment show and yknow what? He did manage to get a spot hosting a show on a very local tv channel for about a year but sadly his twist on the classic tv host personality made people not want to watch his show because he acted "too feminine" and slowly ratings dropped until they had to cancel the show and his dreams were essentially ruined because he's quite stubborn and therefore wont (and probably cant) change his personality much just to be more 'palatable' to people since it'll make him seem fake anyways
[ spoilered bit contains death mention ] after that he spent around 3 years hopping from basic job to basic job usually getting fired for some dumb reason or another (cuz his personality was very 'weird' to those around him also this was like the late 70s early 80s they knew he was gay & they wanted him out) but then he found a job at the local resturant ||and yada yada died ngl his story when it starts to properly connect with the dsaf series starts to bore me out but also kind of didnt die at the same time? He ended up in an undead state and since he was still alive|| he was bound to the company forever so he basically got moved around from location to location until the resturant chain crumbled to the ground
then Jack rebooted the resturant chain by opening a new resturant & Charlie got hired as an employee because what else could he really do in his life? Not much- but anyways now he's currently working there and uh lemmie just graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab some bullshit again & explain his relationship with his friend/crush or bf (depends on the au) Rowan
Rowan was already working at the place before Charlie got hired since Rowan was the 2nd one hired just after the phone guy and one day Charlie tried to strike up some conversation while they were on break which didnt go to well because Charlie's a bit bad at socializing but Rowan saw the effort and later on tried to chat with Charlie which did end up going well and gradually they started to sometimes have conversations while doing misc work stuff & soon they became friends
Charlie was slightly clingy but thankfully respected Rowan's boundries because Charlie had been desperate for an actual friend for years and didnt wanna fuck this chance up so gradually they grew closer and [boom time to au split motherfuckers]
Rack/Rowan x Jack au: Rowan knew Charlie was one of those "single but in a way where he has good relationship advice cuz of that" people & tried to bring up the fact he was catching feelings for someone, Charlie was slightly saddened because he developed a crush on Rowan but he was willing to give advice even if it was slightly obvious this hurt him and Rowan admitted he had a crush on Jack (I am too tired to explain Jack if ykyk if you dont then insert roblox oof sound here) and Charlie gave as much advice as he could because he could handle the fact Rowan didnt like him well enough where it didnt crush him and when Rowan & Jack started dating Charlie was supportive & the crush died down enough where Charlie didnt really care
CottonCandy/Rowan x Charlie au: Charlie slowly developed a crush on Rowan during their friendship and tried to keep it secret & push the thought down until it got too bad & Charlie had to confess sometime soon, that sometime came on a random night when Charlie was being a simping insomniac & had a really big urge to text (oh yeah surprise we're in 2023 timeline wise now) Rowan confessing that he loved them, thankfully Charlie's common sense dulled that down to pulling a "I think I like someone, have any advice?" text then hinting it's Rowan from there which he then proceeded to do, ngl the text was probably basic asf & Rowan sort of got the hint but he denied it at the same time until a week later after their day at work Charlie & Rowan decided to hang out at a local park & Charlie decided to confess to Rowan, Rowan was slightly surprised but also was thinking about the hints from earlier that week and even smaller hints from the past month or so and said he had to take a while to think about it, Charlie tried to remain calm and accepted the fact as best as he could because he thought he was being rejected but a couple days later Rowan texted Charlie saying to come to his place after work & after a few hours of hanging out Rowan said he liked Charlie back too
extra dumb tidbits:
gay gay homosexual gay (& probably graysexual)
keeps that piece of metal in his eye cuz it hurt too much to remove & it looks cool
intentionally has a feminine vibe to him cuz he embraces it nowadays
usually pretends to be a girl in public because his face looks naturally feminine & he doesnt feel like being harassed by assholes
usually kicks his legs out without paying attention..sadly he's kind of good at kicking & has accidentally hurt ppl doing this before Image:
Tumblr media
I have not seen anything related to dsaf in awhile but I love him!!!! Thank you for sharing him with me!!!!

Be taught Precisely How We Made Minecraft Last Month
The portable model of Minecraft is cross-buy with its PS3 sibling, that means if you have already purchased the game on PSN for PS3, you can also get it free on Vita, and vice-versa. They are unable to get into a properly lit house, so you will be secure inside. Warner Bros. Pictures If you haven't seen The Matrix, and someway do not know its main plot points, nicely carried out for avoiding spoilers for 23 years. The major advantage of the Windows Retailer model is that it could actually set up a crossplay on-line connection to players who take pleasure in Minecraft Java Model on other non-Pc platforms. Spectator - Fly around the world made by other players. However, the web is just like the wild west so far as entry to the world goes. Nevertheless, this was no abnormal picture, as they'd decided to make the Warden from the upcoming Wild Replace. Over the past decade, the world of Minecraft has grown as the builders at Mojang have appeared to periodically replace the sport. Amazon's good thermostat has returned to $48, an all-time-low worth that we last saw during the holiday buying season. Back in Might, developer Mojang stated the asking price is $20 as per PS3, you possibly can transfer saves between PS3 and Vita, and DLC purchases are energetic throughout both editions.
The state of affairs has some individuals asking if the sphere of educating needs a reset. As a substitute, Willits hopes the next release goes much more like Skyrim's, with bits of info carefully meted out over time and good presence at industry events so people perceive what form of game they're moving into. He did not have a name for it, based mostly off other video games like his Cave recreation. Being so easy and accessible Minecraft allows you to get taking part in and having fun with faster in comparison to other games. We have rigorously selected for you styles of addictive free online video games to play, together with Car, Puzzle, Physics, Preventing, Working, Parking, Racing, Driving, Cartoon, Zombie, Bike, Stickman, Defense, Strategy, Clicker, Minecraft, Monster, Drawing, Logic, Math games and so on. Not solely that, the editors add the newest games to the "New Video games" web page every day to provide you more addicting games so that you simply won't ever getting uninterested in taking part in the outdated games as soon as and once once more.
Fangamer will carry the DVD copy of the movie for $20.00 USD, the first 7000 copies of which is able to characteristic a restricted-edition custom "dirt brown" DVD case, a reversible cowl with distinctive b-side art, and a redemption code for a free 720p copy of the film. Free to try beneath the Shareware license as a 5-day restricted demo. Ok, so before you determine which of those ten seeds you need to try out first, it’s important to know what a Minecraft seed is and how to make use of one. There have been a pair of light sources discovered within the scene; one was from a torch within the foreground, whereas the other came from the Warden itself. Lately, one gamer got here up with a singular piece of artwork that made the Warden look even scarier than it already is. And whereas you are holding a chunk of food, your starvation and well being meters will flash to indicate how a lot the food will heal you. As TVs and screens transfer in the direction of increased refresh rates, I’d expect many players will prioritize framerates and noticeable visible upgrades like HDR and ray tracing above 4K rendering. If you want fantasy, enjoys strolling through your favorite Tv show or film, then servers have got you covered.
These servers allow players to play this recreation along with their pal's circle. Browser numerous creations made by gamers all around the world. Will probably be interesting to see what different creations are made by members of the group as they proceed to await at any time when The Wild. Unsurprisingly, this beautiful artwork based on the Warden caught the eye of quite a few members of the Minecraft community on Reddit. What made this artwork stand out was that the Reddit person selected to recreate the hostile mob in a more sensible art model. From expertise, I can say that weird issues occur when the server runs out of area. Recognition8641, pointed out that it appeared like a monster that could possibly be featured in Stranger Things. I like a variety of video games, however I really enjoy platformers. When I’m not enjoying my favorite games, I’m usually listening to their soundtracks. I’m also a big fan of Halo and Apex Legends. Lightning Mailbag: Brain Bleach edition
2021 is starting out looking like 2020 playing New Game Plus, so I wanted to tackle some quick questions and answers for my own mental health.
Tumblr media
In the past few years there has been prominent triple-A games with major bugs at launch. Is big games releasing with bugs something that's becoming more frequent?
I challenge you to find a year that didn’t have prominent AAA games with major bugs at launch. It really isn’t more frequent, it just seems that way. We usually get around 20-25% of all AAA launches being buggy in a given release year. That number jumps a bit whenever a new console generation is released for obvious reasons and then trends downward as the console tech becomes better understood.
Does "complete edition" inherently mean "no more new post-launch content production" by definition in the AAA industry? Because I've seen few AAA games from several Japanese devs, one from Ubisoft, and even one by Gearbox make a "complete edition" of some way, shape, or form get more post-launch content after such. Does it mean the term in itself isn't inherent to what I said, or are the said games that continue adding content just exceptions?
“Complete edition” usually just means “everything released up until this point in time” and does not have any real bearing on what future content updates are planned.
Tumblr media
I recently found out that a fangame for LEGO Bionicle actually made contact with The LEGO Group and got approval for their project as long as they follow a couple of guidelines. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this - could this set a positive precedent, or is it just a one-off case of an unusually lenient IP holder?
Some IP owners are fairly generous while others are not. I don’t believe this will set much of a precedence since permission being granted is almost always decided on a case-by-case basis. You might be willing to loan your creation to people you barely know, but that doesn’t mean that I should feel obligated to do the same with my creations. The important thing to note here is that permission is requested and the owner’s decision is respected.

Regarding the redundant assets thing, is there really a reason to do it in PC? Yet pc install sizes are by no means small these days?
The reason to do it on PC is the same as the reason to do it on console - we want to improve performance. Until we can guarantee SSDs on each device, yes - it will continue.
How do you feel about game engines being used for movies and TV shows?
Seems like a cool application of the technology to me.
Tumblr media
A followup to your last post. You mentioned that the certification requirements of today are not the certification requirements of a year from now. How often do consoles companies change their certification processes? Do they update them to be harder to achieve over time (say, a launch title can be released with 10 crash bugs but a game released two years later can only have 2 crash bugs)? What are common updates to certification requirements?
Cert requirements can get updated over time, but a previously certified game remains certified until the binary files change. This is why GOTY/Complete editions of a game often come with codes for DLC and updates, but still require you to patch them yourself - because the game’s certification was from the initial launch. As long as a game was certified at some point and no changes to the files have been made, it remains certified.
In trademark websites, I've seen some companies who file "Trademarks" of names for some of their planned/upcoming games based on another company's IP, while some companies who also make games based on the same IPs by other owners don't have any sort of trademark filed in place. How and when does filing trademark game title names work for developing games based on such IPs?
We generally file trademarks when we commit to the game’s official name. This happens a lot later in production than you might think; many games don’t have their official names until fairly late in Production.

So you made your big game pitch to a large publisher, they are so impressed they open up their check book and ask How much money and time do you want? What is your answer?
Enough to cover the internal estimates I came up with in developing my pitch, plus another 30% for padding and insurance.
Creating a 2d RPG like game using a bare bone engine. I was wondering if I should make the houses apart of the background tiles set - that can't be walked on; or should I make them un-passable sprites?
If you make them sprites, you can reuse them more easily in different maps. Also, consider the usefulness of allowing players to walk behind parts of the houses. Many old games hid treasures and bonuses in places like that.

14: A game you think would be cool if it had voice acting?
Its not like I actually played it but...Pokemon Sword and Shield. Idk much about the game because I still hope to play it lol but as a Dark Type fan I was so excited for Piers and when I heard the guy sings during the battle but you cant hear his voice (but you can hear effects like him thumping his feet, and you see him actually open his mouth) it just...it sounds so awkward...they did my man so dirty...
(Also in general I feel like voice acting for important cutscenes could be a cool addition in general for the games, specially if they are making the models seem like they are talking already)
17: What game do you never tell people you play?
Almost most of the games I like, tbh. Usually I'm too scared to be told they r weird or not real games or they suck and blablabla. Games like End Roll and Ib I only talk about with people im close with, and i tend to not mention rpg maker games, visual novels or dating sims unless, again, is people im close with or that i know are interested in them.
I know it doesnt quite fit the question but what i think i never tell anyone is how much I play yume nikki and its fangames (specially 2kki) -although not much lately-, since they kind of weirdly help when im feeling sad and if people said smth bad i would probably feel like shit lol
23: Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming?
Digimon World 4 but because for some reason the game always showed with a part of the screen cut on my tvs, which its not its fault but still was disappointing. Probably should get another copy lol.
But disappointment in general Im looking straight to Yume Nikki: Dream Diary. Like okay some of the vibes and zones looked cool and the music was good, but god did they ruin what made the original what it is. I really enjoy theory heavy games even if that means we may never have an answer but didnt mind if this one tried to make a story, however it was, very badly done. And dont even get me started on, whatever the fuck that Uboa jumpscare was (like an actual jumpscare would have been better than that blink and u miss it image). There is a lot of stuff I could have forgiven and tbh I spent most of the game still hoping for it to be good, but the fact they limited such an exploring-heavy type of game really upset me, it felt like when they take a beloved show and turn it into some edgy live action drama. I don't regret playing it myself, but it disappointed me with how hyped me n a lot of other people were to have new stuff after so many years.

Welp... it’s over. After nine years, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is over. I just got done watching the series finale with Anthony and, just like I knew I would, when the credits rolled, I cried my eyes out
I should probably say something, huh. I’ve been sharing thoughts like this mostly on Twitter lately, but I started using Tumblr to blog about MLP, so I don’t think it would be right to post this anywhere else
I have a complicated relationship with MLP:FiM. It’s a show that got really hit or miss after the second season, and it has a fandom so toxic and so full of edgy libertarians that it scared me off from formally participating in fandoms for the rest of my life. But it’s also probably my favorite TV show of all time. There are other shows that are much better written, that have more to say, that are more consistent, even including several other cartoons from the same decade. But I think I’d be lying to myself if I said it wasn’t my favorite show
No other piece of media has had as massive of an impact on my life as My Little Pony
I grew closer to some of my closest high school friends because of our shared enthusiasm for the show. I started PonyPokey with Jake and Derek and made a bunch of bad videos and got invited to be on a wildly disorganized BronyCon panel with Jenny Nicholson in 2012. (We went on stage immediately after Lauren Faust’s panel. I barely said a word due to stage fright.)
After years of being too afraid to share my art online, I started putting more effort into learning digital art so that I could draw ponies. It started out rough, but with the drive to improve, I quickly got better. I started Fluttershy Replies. For the first time, I had an audience. I had people who cared about my work and supported me. Even as times have changed, many of you have been following me since way back then
Around the time I came out as bi in 2012, I got really into MLP shipping. Writing sappy comics and drawing sappy art became an outlet for my years of pent up feelings, and helped me sort out a lot of stuff. My Little Pony also completely changed the views on femininity that had been beaten into my skull since childhood. Suddenly, it wasn’t this strange, alien thing to be afraid of. MLP, at its heart, is a show about how there’s no wrong way to be a girl. That’s an incredibly powerful message. Rarity wasn’t a vapid snob. Fluttershy wasn’t a background character who got made into the butt of the joke. Pinkie wasn’t a ditz. These were characters written to be empathized with. And writing about my own feelings from the perspective of Fluttershy felt... right. It took me a few years to fully process those feelings, but eventually, I realized the truth. I was a trans woman. And a cartoon about horses was the first step on my path to realizing this
In 2013, one of the roughest years of my life, I decided to download RPG Maker on a whim to give myself a distraction. Naturally, my first instinct was to make a game where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash kiss. What was initially supposed to be a short, Fantastic Game-esque playground of silly little jokes spiraled out of control and became Super Lesbian Horse RPG, a game that I poured my heart and soul into over the course of a year. And then, a couple years later, my desire to preserve the ideas from my copyright-infringing fangame also spiraled out of control, as all my creative projects do, and became SLHRPG’s successor: Super Lesbian Animal RPG. SLARPG isn’t really a reskinned MLP fangame anymore--it’s more like a new game inspired in part by my old project. The story has been drastically rewritten, the characters changed, the levels and gameplay redesigned. Most of the cast of the new game wasn’t in the original project in any form. There’s much, much, much, much, much more new content than old left in the game. And the original game had already strayed so far from the canon anyway. But I’m also not sure it would exist without MLP
I made a bunch of friends online, including close friends I still have to this day. I met the people like Bee and Thomas who I’m still working with on SLARPG. Most importantly, because we both blogged about MLP and had some mutual friends, I met Anthony, the love of my life. We’ve been together for five years now and supported each other through good times and bad. This is the lamest, corniest, stupidest thing I will ever say in my life, but he’s the Rainbow Dash to my Fluttershy
...
So what about the finale itself? (spoilers, obviously)
I have... mixed feelings on the finale. There were some things that really annoyed me in there. But also, like I said, I cried, so I think it’s safe to say they did good overall
I think the thing that stuck in my craw the most was Discord. Which I guess shouldn’t be surprising. I’ve been saying for years now how I hate Discord, how he spits in the face of everything the show stands for. He’s an obnoxious elderly manchild who constantly causes problems on purpose and torments his so-called friends the second they stop paying attention to him. But they have to put up with him and give him infinite second chances, because he’s a god and Celestia said they had to reform him
The overarching plot of the final season is that Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Tirek, and Cozy Glow (a Darla Dimple-esque filly villain from season 8) had teamed up with Grogar, a “new” villain taken from G1. While this goes on in the background, Twilight is making her preparations to become Celestia’s successor, as we’d known would be her destiny since the day she got wings six years ago. The villain team-up stuff was genuinely fun, and a highlight of the season for me. But then, in the three-part finale, it’s revealed that Grogar was actually Discord in disguise, and that he’d been intentionally trying to orchestrate a big attack on Twilight’s coronation so that she and her friends could save the day and get a big confidence boost going into her reign as princess. This is like... one of the most bafflingly stupid plot twist of all time. It’s literally the end of the show, and Discord has learned nothing. He’s “nice” now, but he’s still intentionally causing huge problems and putting everyone’s lives in danger to solve his problems. He freed four different villains they’d already defeated just so Twilight could beat them again, and in the process they literally blew up the goddamn castle in Canterlot and nearly killed everyone. And yet... they still forgive him, because they have to
I did, however, think that the last two-part adventure episode was fun overall. It tied a nice bow on much of the series, bringing back a bunch of old friends (including cameos from the movie cast!) to band together and save the day. Of course, in the end, they beat the bad guys with a big rainbow laser and sealed them in a statue. You know, even though a previous season finale was all about how solving their problems with a friendship laser and sealing the villains away never worked. Also, Cozy Glow might be evil, but she’s still literally a child? And now her petrified body is on display in the center of Canterlot? What the fuck????
I’m complaining a lot, but again. It was fun overall. It was nice to have one last big adventure, and to have the mane six reflect on how they’d grown since Twilight moved to Ponyville
...
And then we got the actual final episode. And boy did this one hit me HARD
I’m so glad that they ended on a quieter episode about the main cast’s friendships, because that’s what the show is actually about. The two-part adventures to save Equestria every season are fun, but that’s not the real show. We all came back every week for Twilight and her friends
There are things I can complain about here, too. Spike being a buff adult dragon with the voice of a child is fucked up. I’m still not used to seeing Twilight be Celestia’s size. But more than anything, I was always worried that we’d get a Harry Potter ending, where all the characters are paired off into arbitrary marriages so they can all have kids. Thankfully, this didn’t really happen. The only one who had a kid was Pinkie, who apparently got married to Cheese Sandwich (Weird Al’s character) at some point. Like, they literally shared two episodes together, with no hint of romance? But then they got married and had a kid off-screen??? What the fuck???? A lot of people also think that Fluttershy ended up with Discord, and I know I’m massively biased against that ship, but... I mean, they teased the FlutterCord shippers, but there wasn’t really any actual textual evidence that they were any closer than they had been previously. Y’all weirdos who ship Fluttershy with an obnoxious elderly man can interpret that as being “canon” if you want, I guess, but it’s not
The other relationship that shocked everyone in the finale was Applejack and Rainbow Dash, who... appear to be a couple? It’s definitely hinted at. I have... very, very mixed feelings about this. I mean, okay, obivously I’m the big FlutterDash fangirl. But I think AppleDash is cute, too! The problem is that, like... they’ve barely interacted in years? Like, they had a lot of episodes together in the first two seasons, but then the writers barely ever had them interact past that point. I can’t even remember when the last time we got an actual episode focusing on them was. And no, the one where Rainbow takes Granny Smith to pony Vegas doesn’t count
Like... yeah, it’s cute. It’s a nice gesture. Lyra and Bon Bon getting married in the background was also cute. But we can do so, so much better in 2019. We have so many explicitly canon lesbian couples in cartoons. Couples that actually kissed, or got married, or showed feelings for each other. Rainbow and AJ barely even fucking talked to each other in the final few seasons. I dunno, it just feels very hollow to me. Even the Equestria Girls crew admitting they were pushing RariJack felt more substantial to me, because at least they were given on-screen chemistry and lots of canon interaction
But in the end, complaints aside, the finale was about Twilight moving back to Canterlot, and worrying that her friendships would fade because of it. Honestly, I think this is what the finale of the show always would’ve been. It was the perfect story to end on. And boy, it hit really close to home
And then the last song happens, reflecting on how things have changed, but how they’re all still friends. And we see all the other friends they made along the way. And the camera zooms out, and the book from the opening of the very first episode closes, bringing the entire nine-year saga full circle
And then I started sobbing really hard in Anthony’s arms
...
I dunno. I just got done nitpicking a lot, but I still think that the last episode was a good and very emotional ending for the show
I’m going to miss this show dearly. I know it will be back in a new form, and that the leaks indicate that it’ll still star slightly different versions of the Mane Six. I’m also used to shows like this getting rebooted. Hasbro cartoons are honestly lucky to last past three seasons. FiM, on the other hand, got over 200 episodes, a theatrical film, a few specials, some shorts, a bunch of comics (which I still need to read), and a spinoff human AU series that was also really great. There’s no shortage of content, and I’m sure I’ll be returning to the series for years to come. I’m also glad that the show managed to go out on a high note
But still. It was a constant presence in my life for nearly nine years. Even as the quality got really hit or miss, even as they took the premise in strange directions, even as the crew of the show grew more and more dominated by men, it was still a show I could rely on to always be there, 26 episodes a year. I’ll miss it. I hope what comes next is just as good, if not even better. I also hope it’s gayer
I was going to end my ask blog, Fluttershy Replies, around the time the show ended. I’m not sure if I’ll do that just yet. I don’t know. I think that might be a bit much for me to process emotionally. Too many doors closing in my life in quick succession. But I do want to do more with it. These characters will be special to me for the rest of my life
I mean shit, I haven’t even drawn StarTrix yet. I’ve still got a lot of work to do with these horses, folks

Elsewhere Demo (Elsewhere 0.2.3) - Please kill me. Please.
I’d like to preface this with the notice that this is a demo; it’s incomplete. However, it’s still horrid and I still hate its horrendously disgusting being.
Okay, I’m not going to blunder about trying to explain this thing’s garbage plot. Instead, I’ll get directly into this thing’s horridly disgusting being. So, how would I explain Elsewhere (0.2.3)? Well, it’s basically like.. sitting in a subway tram. A dirty, strangely moist tram. Some hipster walks in, wearing a godawful V-neck and twisting his horrible mustache around. He looks at you, then proceeds to walk over, sweating and blathering about useless dreck. Heh. Hah. It’s pain. You want to die.
Yes, playing Elsewhere makes me want to die. It’s absolutely disgusting. The most disgusting thing you’ll easily spot is the horrible artwork. Awful facesprites, disgusting character sprites, and horrible enemy sprites. These awful sprites.. made it almost impossible for me to even play this entire fucking game. If you can give me a noose, I’d probably begin to hang myself rig
Okay, got sidetracked there. Moving on, I will mention something that also makes me want to die. This game mentions one ‘Yuko’ character. At this point, you’re probably rolling your eyes. “A game mentions a character, so what? Do you hate continuity?” No, I don’t. That’s why I hate Yuko. Yuko is a character mentioned for no apparent goddamned reason other than, I assume, a set-up for later on. However, the main character, Clyde, acts as if you already know who this Yuko is, despite the game never mentioning this Yuko or showing Yuko’s face even once. Not even once. The game can dedicate an entire faceset to Clyde, but not even toss us a paltry image of Yuko.
As I thought about it, I came to a conclusion. “Maybe Yuko is the name of the dev’s player, and they forgot to change it! Yes, that’s it!” Little did I know, that innocence.. it was misguided.
For those of you who don’t know, RPG Maker 2003 uses a simple system for displaying things like a custom player name. There is a small list of characters within the game that are playable/in there for whatever reason, numbered from 1 to some arbitrary number. Going by this game, “Player” is in number 5. So if the developer wants to make the game output the player’s custom name, they would put this string into the text: “\N[5]”. Unedited, it looks like this: “\N[n]”. What it calls upon is hero number ‘n’ (in this case 5) and outputs the ‘N’, or the name of the hero.
I thought the developer forgot to put in an “\N[5]” and instead misguidedly typed in their test name. However, the textbox mentioning Yuko looks like this:
“\N[5] and I were sent here on behalf of someone named "\C[14]Yuko\C[00]." You wouldn't happen to recognize the name, would you?” (The “\C[14]” and “\C[00]” determine the color a portion of text; in this case, changing it between gold (the “[14]”) and the default color (the “[00]”).)
Yes, there it is, the contradiction, the elimination of my theory. The developer, as such, either had to forget to mention Yuko, or for some horrific reason seems to believe they don’t need to. I don’t know what would run through someone’s mind to make such a horrid and counterproductive decision, but I fear that may be the reason.
So, let’s assume that someone out there in the around 5 or so people that will read this looks at my ranting, and screams out: “What, no mention of the characters? No discussion on how it fits in with the lore?” Well, I shall talk about the characters. You chose your cyanide, now I must deliver it on your silver platter.
So it turns out that the characters are about as lackluster as the art. By that, I mean they’re absolute garbage. The main character, Clyde, lacks most of a personality other than the leftover traces of the archetypal energetic, excited, and heroic 'personality’ that so many blank and forgettable characters possess.
They introduce a cat, Syrup, who is basically a more pathetic and depressing version of The Judge. I don’t mean intentionally pathetic and depressing, just so.. bland and sad to witness, it is comparable to watching two unmanned cement mixers smash into one another. I shall speak no more of Syrup.
The final character that is actually mentioned so far is one Yuko, which I already complained about. So there is no character to be mentioned.
Within the game’s files (which I will admit I am liberally digging around in) there exist five other notable characters: ‘Sprinkles’, ‘Copper’, ‘Clover’, ‘SoundTest’, and ‘Password’.
Sprinkles is, as far as I can tell, either a poorly drawn rabbit or a lopsided cat. Their title, ‘Delirious’, does not seem to match their mannerism of walking or facial expressions at all. Whether this is due to a poor understanding of what ‘delirious’ means, or gross incompetence, I shall never know.
Copper is a TV-headed individual whose apparent actual name is ‘CU-713 M.III’ (does the developer even know what ‘M.III’ means? Why is Copper ‘Mark III’ of its type?)  This character lacks a proper character sprite, instead only possessing foul facesprites.
Clover looks like an angel. A permanently annoyed and irritated angel, matching my personal feelings on this game. She (I’m going to bet Clover is a ‘she’. After all, fangames seem to have a penchant for the ‘Zone 3 female follower’ thing.) has the title ‘Saigai’, which, on the note of that, I will thank the developer for forcing me to look up their weeb terms. Apparently, ‘saigai’ stands for ‘disaster, calamity, misfortune’, which sums up my experience with this beta very well.
Of course, I also possess the skill list. Clyde, in my opinion, has a horridly boring skill list, that clearly isn’t complete, given that this game is a beta.
Sprinkles is the healer of the party, and.. none of these competences bear any indication of having healing effects. None of the competences have anything to do with ‘delirious’, by the way, except for two or three.
Copper has competences that I assume are named after the first things that the developer saw when they opened up a ‘Beginning Programming for Dummies’ book, and some sci-fi jargon that is absolutely meaningless.
Clover is still horribly weeaboo, as indicated by the fact that her competences are named after random Japanese terms that mostly bring up anime and shit. Among note of these are ‘Bokusatsu’, which brings up “Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan” as its first result. Bokusatsu apparently means ‘Bludgeoning’ or ‘Eradicate’, and is not just a horrid misspelling of ‘bukkake’. Another random Japanese term I do not need to know, and never wanted to know. Yay.
There’s some random skill called ‘Strangle’. It does 30 damage at the cost of 15 goddamn CP. It’s not even 100% accurate! For contrast, The Batter’s ‘Special Homerun’ does 160 damage at the cost of 15 CP. It’s not 100% accurate either, but at least it can do 160 damage, and that’s not even factoring in variance for either!
I guess I’ll be going on to fitting in with the world of OFF.
I’m strangely disgusted by even typing that, because it’s offensive to OFF to type those words in a review of Elsewhere. It’s rude to OFF to even dare to compare Elsewhere’s shitty, nonexistent lore with the complex lore of OFF.
To put it simply, no, Elsewhere does not fit in with the world of OFF. It has a horribly hideous graphical design, and its characters lack any slight semblance of a personality, or even a semblance of a character. Yes, this game lacks what makes a character.. a character.
By the way, on note, I mentioned Yuko 13 times (including this time) and I’m certain that this mysterious character doesn’t even exist in any manner, because I have no reason to.
Should you play this game?
You can’t hear it, but I’m laughing as I type those words. I am laughing, because that question doesn’t even need the slightest semblance of an answer. That question is, in all entirety, already answered by me a thousand times over in this entire horrid review.
No. No, you should not.
What do I think of this game?
Well, it’s shit. It’s a horrible beta, and it looks like sludge and sewer-water. I know it’s a beta in 0.2.3, but it hasn’t even been updated in nearly a year or two! I’m working with what I have, okay?
I don’t hold anything against the developer, okay? They could be a nice fellow, I don’t know them. All I know is that Elsewhere is horrible and disgusting.
As I began to get up, I sighed. A single, upset, disappointed sigh. A sigh made from a place of disappointment and annoyance. All the words in the English language don’t give me as much a way to reflect my sheer irritation, my incredible disdain for this game.
So that, is my final thoughts on Elsewhere’s Beta 0.2.3.
A sigh. A single, irritated sigh.

Love May Dwindle Between Street Fighters, But There Will Always Be Paris
The above is from Bastien Vives, which recently made a reappearance on Twitter (thanks for the heads up @VitaminSteve). Though I’ve known about them for some time now, dating all the way back since 2010, when Eric posted them on GSW!
Anyhow, here are two others in the series…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’d also end up sharing another illustration of Bastien’s on GSW myself, which was part of another series…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BTW, I’ve been trying to get ahold of Bastien for literally years now, so if anyone could please pass this post along to him, along with the following message, that would be awesome:
“Bastien! I’m a HUGE fan of your work and would love to work together! There’s an art show I’m putting together and would be honored to have you take part! So let’s talk; my email is [email protected].”
So what else has been going on? Well, lots of stuff as usual, though for starters, there’s going to be a Papers Please? movie! Well, a short film at least; here’s @dukope with some production shots…

Also, according to Eric at his regular digs, there’s gonna be another Seaman!

Hopefully this one makes it onto US shores, cuz I’m still bummed that the last follow up for the PS2 never arrived here…

As for “actual news”, you know how Trump brought out the best in folks on Twitter this past week? Including those who enjoy making game related gags, and this one might be the my personal fave (via @Nibellion)…

Speaking of Pokemon; a Blastoise sculpture made out of cheese for whatever reason (via retrogamerblog)…

And here have a more traditional definition of “art”; it’s an oil painting of Marisa Kirisame, and kbnet explains: “Artist is Zarigani Misawa, an art teacher by trade. There was a small exhibition of Touhou art done in traditional media on the 28th where this photo was taken”…

The Verge recently highlighted the work of Matt Anderson, it didn’t so much make me think of what Zelda game on a smart phone could look like but instead a Zelda game in the hands of CAPY…

Here’s a video that’s gotten a surprising amount of attention, though perhaps I shouldn’t be too surprised; The 8-Bit Guy decided to restore a pair of old games that were more than a little rough around the edges, which ended up upsetting classic game and preservationists. And while I understand where they’re coming from, I also love the total DIY route that Dave (aka The 8-Bit Guy’s real first name, I think) employed when replacing the label for Pitfall…

And here’s a video that hardly anyone has seen, which I’m hoping to correct: my buddy Andy Reitano has been showcasing NESpectre, a project by himself and his pal Zachary Johnson, for quite some time now (my first taste was at the last, and I do mean last, IndieCade East).
Basically, it’s a modified NES that allows people to alter various aspect of a given game by logging in via their smart phones. It’s also one of those things in which you need to see it action to understand, so here’s Andy’s talk from SIGNAL last week…

BTW, some may recall another project of Andy’s I mentioned around this parts a whiles ago as well, that being Super Russian Roulette. The following was posted on Twitter; “First official run of @adamgetsawesome's batch programming GUI. Wirelessly flashing 5 NES carts at once (with progress bars!)”

And back to the subject of hardware tricky; am not entire sure what’s going on here, which I spotted over at cf-12’s corner, when looking to see if he’s been up to anything new since last checking in…

All right, enough of the house that Mario built, let’s talk Sega, yet also sticking with hardware innovations… or Innoventions as Disney calls them. Here we have the latest from home movie from My Retro Life, which again proudly flaunts the Esposito family’s affinity for the house that Sonic built, even while vacationing at Disney World…

All I can say is, I would gladly opt for Virtua Formula (that eight player linked Virtua Racing set-up that you might miss if you blink) over that dumbass looking Avatar thing they currently have going on.
And sticking with Sega for just a bit more; some not so funny jokes from a not so funny Sonic joke book (via sonicthehedgeblog). While not directly contributing to them eventually bowing out of the home console business, I still can’t help wonder how little it helped them either…

Remember my mention of an Ulala Figma from a few weeks ago? Well, here it is “in action” (this is mostly just a chance to showcase Good Smile Company’s YouTube page, which I had idea existed until now)…

Do you also recall that unpainted TwinBee toy I posted pics of a few weeks ago also? Well, here it is in color, cuz it’s now available for pre-order (via miki800.com)…

You know that girl that really likes Sega, as evidenced by the Saturn she wears on her head? Well, she’s into SNK as well, as evidenced by the new shirt that our pals at Fangamer recently released…

Speaking of SNK, I finally have a reason to share the marquee for the mini 2slot MVS that were in certain McDonald’s in Japan. Been looking for the perfect time to share this for ages now (via @turfmasta)…

Here’s something that originally aired on Japanese TV and which I stumbled across on YouTube…
youtube
I’ve looked high and low and cannot find any hard info, so all I have are observations. So for those of you who don’t feel like watching the 20+ minute long clip: for starters, it’s clearly a show that highlights retro gaming, and one of the hosts is… the creator of Dragon Quest?!?! Actually, one of the hosts simply strikes a very close resemblance to Yuji Horii (I’m pretty sure if he was hosing a show, it would be somewhat common knowledge). Also, everyone’s wearing snazzy THUNDERBOX attire!
I believe the guest is the dude whose apartment we visit, which is overflowing with Famicom boxes. Am shocked that he’d allow television cameras come visit, but hey, more power to the guy for being so proud of his collection. We immediately cut to a segment on controllers for the Famicom, with the highlight being an inflatable motorcycle! After that is their version of the Power Pad and their version of the Power Glove. Turns out, the latter is just as unmanageable as its American equivalent. And finally they bust out the Switch cuz the milking mini game in 1-2-Switch makes for great television.
And finally here, gonna wrap things up with the final thing I shared in that GSW post of mine that I posted at the very top. Which basically served as the prototype for the Attract Mode blog, as anyone can tell. Anyhow, here we have the ultimate dream team of Link and WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon…

Don’t forget: Attract Mode is now on Medium! There you can subscribe to keep up to date, as well as enjoy some “best of” content you might have missed the first time around, plus be spared of the technical issues that’s starting to overtake Tumblr.
