FWB with Eddie x Fem!Reader who catch feelings

You and Eddie were just joking around when the subject came up. Everyone else was having sex but you weren't and that made you grumpy.

Despite the weed Eddie offered to take the edge off your annoyance, you were still touchy about it.

So he shrugged and thought fuck it, why not?

He's seated on the couch in his uncle's trailer and you're on the floor on your stomach, watching tv, when he makes the offer.

He gestures to himself with a flourish, one arm draped over the back of the couch.

"I am at your service, m'lady."

You twist around to look at him, kinda confused, not quite getting what he's talking about. He just raises his eyebrows at you, waiting for a response.

"I'm saying," Eddie continues. "Fix the dry spell. Do something about it. You know...seize the day."

"With you!?" you say, high pitched with disbelief.

He rolls his eyes with a slightly offended huff and sinks into the couch, glancing away.

"Geez, don't hold back on the enthusiasm or anything."

If you didn't know any better, you would have thought that Eddie was a little...disappointed...hurt...by your response.

Silence settles in the trailer as neither of you say anything. Eddie pokes at a hole in his jeans, not looking at you.

So you come over and sit on the couch beside him. He drags his gaze up to your face, staring at you with those bambi eyes...searching your face with...hope maybe???

"Are you saying you would fuck me out of the goodness of your heart?" you ask.

He gives one of those big grins with a half shrug.

"I mean...it's not like you have any other options. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel here."

You punch him in the shoulder for that. He yelps, dropping back against the arm rest of the couch.

Then you're climbing over him, face to face, one hand on his belt, the other on the couch next to his hip.

"If you brag about this to your buddies, I'll kill you."

"Yes ma'am. My lips are sealed."

"I certainly hope not," you reply right before you kiss him.

He's surprisingly good at kissing. He knows how to tease you with little bites, or lick past your lips, tongue sliding against tongue in a hot, wet slickness that has you moaning against him.

He's even better with his fingers, stroking your body until every inch of your skin is humming with need.

The whole thing is sweet and awkward in an endearing way. When Eddie tugs off your shirt and you get tangled in it, you're both laughing as he frees you. A minute later, he gets caught up in his jeans and you're both wheezing over that.

Eddie is always checking in for consent with you, and he definitely won't continue until he sees you're 10000% on board. If you're not enthusiastic, he stops, end of story.

He is a big post coital cuddler. It's just automatic for him to snuggle you into the curve of his body or bury his face into your neck with kisses.

So if you want this to stay strictly no-feelings-attached, you have to put a hand on his face and push him away.

You both figured it was a one-time deal.

It wasn't. Not by a long shot.

Sometimes, when you're out with friends, Eddie will shoot you This Look with a coy little smirk, wiggling his eyebrows. You know exactly what he's asking for in a not-so-subtle way.

But you laugh him off for the first few times. Until you don't.

And then you're sneaking off for quickies in the bathroom or the janitor's closet, or the back of his van, or literally anywhere you can get two minutes to yourselves.

And then you're asked out by some jock.

Eddie is happy for you. But there is an edge of sarcasm to it that he can't quite hide.

And the sex is pretty bad with your new date. Like...you'd just...rather not. At all.

You catch yourself longing for the days when Eddie took such good care of you, when sex was FUN and GOOD.

But you know you shouldn't be thinking that way, not when you're in a relationship with someone else.

You and Eddie don't hang out that much anymore now that you're seeing someone else. But after an argument with your date, you wind up at Eddie's place in the middle of the night in the rain, soaked to the skin.

Eddie takes you in immediately, no questions asked.

He towels you off, wraps you up in one of his shirts.

That's when you realize how much you miss him. You miss him so much it hurts like a hole has been carved out of your chest.

As Eddie plops down beside you, rambling about how you deserve better, and everything will work out, you look over at him.

He goes silent.

His gaze wanders over your face and you realize in that moment what a complete and total idiot you've been.

Eddie has been in love with you for a long, long time.

He kisses you so sweetly, so gently, that it aches.

Then he's cupping you face in his hands and you're tugging at his shirt. There's something different about the sex now - it feels like touching each other for the first time, slow and careful and filled with that longing that makes you feel as if your chest might split in two.

When Eddie reaches for you afterward, you meet him halfway, tangling your legs with his. You take his hand, guiding it around your waist and you can feel him smile as he tucks his face into the crook of your neck and shoulder.

"So..." and you can hear the little shit grinning already. "...can I tell my buddies about this?"

Which earns him a smack.

And that devolves into a pillow fight.

And that devolves into languid and lazy kisses, reveling in your feelings for each other finally out in the open.

The word Do a Barrel Roll is first used in the Nintendo 64 game Star Fox. In the game for Super Nintendo, defending team is allowed to do the barrel roll by tapping the L or R buttons twice. Peppy Hare, one of the star fox game character, tells the player to "Do a Barrel Roll" with a text displayed on screen.

On Friday, April 27th 2018 at around 5:45pm my dog, Ollie, was lost to IMHA. If you’ve been following me for a while you’ve probably seen my posts about the fundraiser. It is still up on [gofundme] as well as some amazing [merch] for him that was created through the help of some amazing artists and @fiftyshadesofdes. The goal I wished to reach was $10000 to cover his costs and we reached around $1000. Since it has been a year now the need is not nearly as strong as it was, but if anyone has anything to spare it would be greatly appreciated. Under the read more I am going to have lots of pictures of my baby boy as well as some amazing memories I have of him because he was, and still is super important to me. This was Ollie, he was supposedly a pomeranian/corgi mix but we were never really sure what he was. He weighed a whopping 10 pounds. The moment I saw him on the adoption agency’s website we got him from I was in love with him. We went to meet him and it was an instant click. He was around 6 months old when the adoption went through, he was my first, and so far my only, dog I’ve ever owned.

Ollie really was my best friend, he was always there for me when I needed a cuddle or some kisses. Or when he just really wanted to eat whatever food I was eating.

He was by my side a lot, always giving me a gentle look that he cared, when I was on my laptop in the basement he would move the baby gate at the top of the stairs and come down and just lay next to me. It made me feel safe and cared for, growing up in the environment I grew up in, he really helped keep me sane and I like to believe he knew that.

We hung out a lot, as he got older he took more and more naps, sometimes on top of me when I really needed to be doing something else. But he was the king and he would give me a grouchy growl if I ever tried to move him from where he was resting and stubbornly flop back down.

He liked to sleep on my bed with me, except he’d usually leave at some point because I toss and turn. He had a stash of pillows he’d stolen from me at the foot of my bed and usually ended up there. After my father took him on his morning walk he would barrel back downstairs full of energy and jump on me until I gave him attention then he’d go back to sleep after a little while.

One of my proudest accomplishments was training him. When we got him I was I think between 5th and 6th grade, I taught him how to sit, stay, lay down, roll over, beg, bow, crawl, dance, jump, give his paw, give his *other* paw, come, speak, as well as a few other fun things. One thing he was never good at was leash training, I guess all dogs have their quirks, but he was a pain to walk because he zoomed all over the place.

He really liked to watch me while I was doing anything. He’d give me a stare from a few feet away until I invited him over for some snuggles or he’d just insert himself in front of what I was doing until I gave him attention. One of the silliest things he did was he’d slowly walk towards me and I’d pretend not to see him and then when he was a foot away from me I’d whip towards him and he’d run away and it would repeat and repeat until he got so hyped he got the zoomies all over the place.

Ollie really enjoyed going on our beach trips with us, we took him for a walk on the beach in the late afternoon/early evening once during every trip. Last year was the first trip we spent without him and it was really hard to get through. I went on a walk by myself down the beach at sunset, full on crying because he wasn’t there with me.

If you’re not aware, I work with dogs. I’d bring him with me every so often. Since he was getting older as I got the job he wasn’t super into coming with me since he was a really little dog and wasn’t very experienced in playing with big dogs. He did have one dog he was friends with, a chihuahua mix named Ginger.

Ollie could have been a famous dogsplayer (dog cosplayer) if he wanted to be, he was already a perfect model for pictures. And so dang cute to boot.

I really feel, in some way, that he’s still watching over me. And I hope he knows I still love him with all of my heart. Ollie, you were the best thing to ever happen to me and I will never ever forget all the good and happiness you brought me. I hope you’re enjoying doggo heaven, or wherever else you ended up.

This was his collar, I wore it around my wrist when we left the hospital. I still have it sitting on a table by my bed, tags and all. Whenever I bump it and it jingles it hurts my heart. It no longer smells like him either since it’s been so long, but I can’t bear to ever get rid of it.

Ollie. I still love you. I hope you know that. I miss you so much, every day. I hope we meet again some day and we can make up for the time we weren’t able to spend together. Goodnight, my sweet angel.

BACKGROUND:

Ted grew up on Valentia Island, a small muggle town on Ireland. His father was a science teacher, and his mother a mathematician and researcher. He grew up on formulas and numbers and facts and science. Anything that he could make sense of, he found comforting. Like home.

[ Alcoholism tw:// ] Money was always an issue and they could just make ends meet, never any room for luxuries. Though that didn’t stop Ted’s father from finding himself looking down the barrel of a bottle a little bit too much. That also put a strain on the family, and the economics.

His mother, Eliana Tonks ( née McNamara ), mostly worked from home. She balanced her research career in maths ( trying to get published, applying for grants, doing the occasional guest lectures at schools ) with motherhood. She had two children from a previous marriage, both older than Ted. She was a caring mother, but also somewhat unstable, prone to mental breakdowns.

Ted also spent a considerable amount of time with Eliana’s mother, Dorothy McNamara —- and some of Ted’s fondest memories are from her farm, the scent of newly baked cinnamon rolls seemingly always hanging in the air.

Also helped out at her farm a lot and took care of her animals.

[ Alcoholism tw:// ] His father, Brian Tonks, the secondary school science teacher, was mostly just very tired. For years, he constantly worked overtime, took on extra work, barely ever saw his kids or his wife. Still couldn’t quite make ends meet. So he found comfort elsewhere, whiskey numbing his feelings, his soul, his thoughts.

Ted has four SIBLINGS — two older half brothers, and two younger sisters. Pretty early on, Ted took on a lot of responsibility regarding his siblings (really wanted to help his mom out, mostly), and spent countless hours playing with his sisters, taking them out on the ferry, trying to distract them from the problems at home. Ted is great with kids so !!!! That’s that!!!!

HOGWARTS YEARS:

The LETTER arrived with a peculiar man on a rainy Monday morning. It was explained to the Tonks family that their middle son, Edward, was a wizard. Brian got a good laugh out of that one. It would take a couple of weeks ( and another few visits ) to convince him that this wasn’t a con. Brian was a man of science after all - and men like him did not believe in magic.

So Ted was shipped off to Hogwarts, and became a HATSTALL ( just for long enough that Ted was sure that the hat had changed his mind about him, send him right back to Ireland ). Stuck between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, the hat eventually settled on Ravenclaw.

Ted was SHAMELESSLY MUGGLEBORN, from the very start. Homework was written with a pencil, instead of ink, muggle bands could be heard playing from his dorm (mostly the Rolling Stones), his mother sent him issues of national geographic and new scientist, which he read over breakfast at the Ravenclaw table. REBELLING against the wizard norms was 100% Ted’s brand.

But also fully EMBRACED WIZARD CULTURE!!!! Was that kid who always asked questions, tried everything that he could and always craved more!!!

Had a FROG for the first three years at Hogwarts ( called Toad, we love being practical ), and then got a cat instead ( called Neptune ).

During the summers, Ted was enrolled in SUMMER SCHOOL, and took muggle classes.

His FAVORITE CLASS at Hogwarts was probably arithmancy, but he also excelled in charms, herbology and transfiguration.

Attempted to join the QUIDDITCH TEAM during his third year, but didn’t make it. Continued being an avid supporter instead.

While at Hogwarts, Ted was FAIRLY POPULAR. He was always taking care of the younger kids ( even though he was never made prefect ), could be seen wearing jeans and a tshirt on his off days, was quite charming, told cheeky jokes to make people around him smile and overall just gave zero shits about what people thought of him. He was also that big, muscular dude who at first glance, you’d totally expect to be a crude jock, but then he’s not, and instead walks you to your dorm, always the perfect gentleman. Ted was lowkey just everyone’s cool older brother.

Ted was mostly interested in LEARNING. He wanted to learn about everyone around him, about magic, about their history. Also studied his ass off, and was at the top of his class.

As a person, Ted was always KIND, a nice guy to his very core. But he was also COLD, somehow used to dulling his emotions, his senses, his heart ( he really is his father’s son, isn’t he? ). Instead focusing on other people - their hardship, their emotions, how can he help? He got used to always PUTTING HIMSELF LAST early on, already as a young child, so it was hardly any different at Hogwarts.

Definitively sneaked into the kitchen a couple times a week (and definitively found the house elf situation mortifying too, lbr).

Ted was of the conviction that if he tried hard enough - he could MAKE FRIENDS with anyone. Never met a stranger. Unfortunately that wasn’t quite the case, and he became the target of BULLIES during his first four years at the school. Ted always gave as good as he got though, quickly finding where his kindness ended - and where something darker began.

Had a pretty CAREFREE HOGWARTS EXPERIENCE, overall though? Mostly stayed in his own lane, studied a lot, went to parties, probably read every book in the library. Made a lot of friends but also some enemies.

AFTER HOGWARTS / PERSONALITY:

Ted graduated with top marks, but had no further great ambitions beyond that. The dream was to open up a BAKERY, run it for a few years, and then move on to the next big thing. He’s a firm believer in that there is a certain science to the perfect cake - that it takes more than a recipe. He’s also a firm believer in getting to know people, and what better way to do that than over cake, right?

Unfortunately, the war looming on the horizon pulled him in another direction. So after Hogwarts, he studied to become a healer, a work that although meaningful, never really excited him. So he worked at St Mungos for a couple of years, and did what he had always done. Stitched people up, put them back together. Completely detached from what he was doing, everything just felt like PRETEND. He perfected his bedside manner, a false smile always resting on his lips. He pretended not to notice when someone’s dark mark slipped. Everyone’s the same, to Ted, when he’s working. He doesn’t differentiate between the sinners and the saints, the good and the bad.

After two years at St Mungos, he had a sudden change of heart, and made a swift career change. Hospital was changed in for the battle field as he became a MEDIWIZARD.

And suddenly, he found himself in the center of the storm. Quickly patching people up, dodging spells, finding body parts. Somehow he finds himself always covered in someone’s blood. Sometimes it’s his own.

He only works in the medical field because of NECESSITY. He has no great aspirations to become a high level healer, and the job itself doesn’t draw him in. Though being in the field gets his heart racing, it’s not something he particularly enjoys and he mostly just does it because he wants to HELP. Can’t stand seeing all this mayhem, all this pain. It’s in his very nature to want to pick up the pieces, it doesn’t matter who it is. Ted grew up in an environment where he was the constant fixer of things, the glue that kept the family together, the little diplomat. That never changed.

What did change however was his DRIVE! Over the years, Ted has grown more and more DETACHED from what he does, what he sees. It’s incredibly hard to stay gentle in the society he lives in ( where a large group of people want to see him dead ), so Ted has grown more and more closed off. His heart is still made of gold, but he’s detaching himself from it. Coldness seeping into his bones, his blood. He hasn’t realized it himself, but he stopped properly caring a long time ago. He’s so tired.

LISTEN! These days, the only thing that Ted really, really cares about is his family!! Can you blame him? People want to kill him for who he is and meanwhile all he’s trying to do is save people :/// damn it :///

OKAY SO - let’s talk about THE ORDER!!! Ted helps out, when he can. But he doesn’t directly involve himself in their business, because 1) he suspects that some of his wife’s family members are death eaters, and he doesn’t want to do that to her / to have to fight his extended family. 2) Ted is definitively not a fighter - he’s the fixer, the healer, the guy you go to when you have a problem you can’t quite figure out on your own.

Aligning himself with a side thus doesn’t feel quite right to him, since he’s out in the field, trying to remain objective, trying to help people on both sides. Not saying it isn’t a challenge, but homeboy is trying!

SO ----- Ted is a big old SOFTIE with a heart of gold. He embodies kindness down to his very core, and there usually isn’t a mean bone in his body. His name suits him well --- Ted is a teddy bear.

Ted is also incredibly TIRED. Years of working right in the middle of the war has taken its toll on him, and he’s getting fed up with all of it, tbh. Not that he’d ever say so.

At this point though, Ted is starting to become more and more RESERVED, because as a medic, he has seen the things people do to each other, the things they are capable of. It makes him sick, and he’s growing increasingly detached from the people around him because of it.

Though guarded, Ted is pretty OUTGOING still! He just doesn’t let anyone (except for his wife!!!!) too close, anymore. Prefers to keep everyone at a distance. Ted has buried a lot of his friends and he’s getting pretty tired of that too. :/

Ted is so nice that he can be sort of INDULGENT? Lets people get away with a lot, and is overly permissive / forgiving & lenient at a great personal cost.

Also very SELF SACRIFICING. Puts EVERYONE before himself, always. It’s a problem.

Total OVERANALYZER and occasional overthinker. Typical Ravenclaw.

But also very easy going - literally the most chill guy ever. For better or for worse.

Try getting a rise out of this man!!!! You can’t!!! You could literally spit in his face and he’d just wipe it off and continue on with what he was doing. He does not give a single fuck - his skin is made of steel.

Tip: insult his wife / daughter and he might crack!!!

Can be incredibly APATHETIC!! Every now and then, the light in his eyes goes out, flickers and fades, and his usually SOFT HEART grows cold.

With that said, you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of Ted’s hatred. It’s very rare, but absolutely SEETHING. Ted’s a patient guy. He can wait until the moment is right to strike back, ya feel.

Ted is sort of OBSESSIVE. Especially with the idea of fixing things ---- putting things back together. It stems from his childhood ( which I talked about earlier ). He’s a problem solver, a chronic fixer, a helper. He doesn’t know any other way to be, so he physically can’t stop himself from getting involved.

In Ted’s mind, there is ALWAYS a solution. ALWAYS. Hence why he is taking this war so hard. He can’t solve a whole war, but he’s having a hard time coming to terms with that. Unfortunately, logic and reason can’t fix this. SUCKS.

[ PTSD tw:// ] Ted is slowly developing PTSD. He is ALWAYS there for the worst parts of the war and its aftermath. He has seen so much. So the nightmares never stop - at this point, they continue when he wakes up too.

In chaotic / dangerous situations, Ted just SHUTS DOWN. Acts on auto pilot. Becomes incredibly stoic, calm, lifeless. Phlegmatic to a fault.

Currently, Ted is mostly just done. #over this war!!

OTHER STUFF:

Definitively a vegetarian!!

Favorite color is green.

LOVES cooking and is lowkey an experimental chef? Likes seeing what happens when he adds stuff together.

But leans more towards baking!!! He’s still chasing that perfect cake. There’s a chemical reaction out there, somewhere, that he WILL find. Give him time!

Very Dad!! Loves Dora SO much. Wants to change the world for her.

Quietly teaching Dora math and science at home. Also slowly introducing her to muggle history and muggle technology and muggle music. It’s important to Ted that Dora knows where she comes from. That there is nothing wrong with who she is ( who they are ).

On that note, Ted cares so much about math and science! He loves anything that just makes sense. To this day, Ted will still read science books and magazines.

LOVES animals and is so good with them too, which he learned when he worked his grandmother’s muggle farm as a teenager !!

Would... adopt ten dogs and five cows if he could.... someone hook this man up....

Us government impact on India

Biden and India

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was elected president of the USA in November 2020. He defeated current President Donald Trump and will be inaugurated as the 46th president on January 20, 2021. Joe Biden promised to take certain actions towards the current policies and after taking necessary actions towards the policies of the prior president, and India will also face some of the repercussions of those actions. Following are some expected actions to be done by the US due to the change in government –

IT companies

Biden stated against section 230 and said it should be revoked. Biden stated that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, is a significant piece of legislation that protects internet platforms from civil and criminal responsibility for content created and posted by users. It also enables those platforms to create intense content on their platform which can be very violent and encourages criminal activity. Twitter and Facebook were major factors in the 2016 elections and Biden aims to not give them such power. Biden promised to raise the corporate taxes to 28% from 21%, Big tech companies can be faced with scrutiny and greater tax oversight. Rolling back of section 230 could make it harder for online platforms to operate and offer services. And since the US is a hub of most of the technological affairs , all of this could result in some problems for the Indian IT industry as well.

Renewable energy

Biden’s one of the first calls for action would be to again make the US a part of the Paris agreement. And with that a call for the uplifting of the environment. He aimed a ₹10000 crore climate plan envisioning a massive shift to cleaner and safer sources of energy, aiming to build a Clean Revolution. And with the USA being the epicenter of developed nations, it planned on making other countries a part of it as well. India should expect some new changes in policies or an uprising in the market for renewable energy.

India Pharmaceutical industry

Since the start of this global pandemic, Indian global exports of medicinal services have grown by 11% in the first quarter and 19% in the second quarter. In the same period of time, the amount of Pharma exports to the US has also increased by 15%. India has played a critical role in providing the US with effective, reliable, high-quality, and more affordable drugs. The role of Indian healthcare companies will become more significant after the victory of Joe Biden provided that there will be an increased push for generic prescription drugs and access to affordable health insurance. It is important to analyze the impact of Biden’s proposed healthcare policy on the Indian pharmaceutical industry because close to 40% of generics valued at about ₹40000 crores consumed in the US are imported from India. By giving Americans more options, reducing healthcare prices, and making our healthcare less difficult to manage, his campaign vowed to expand on the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

India and Iran

President Trump’s administration constructed an aggressive foreign policy, by which strict sanctions were put against Iran and Venezuela’s crude oil distribution, which created problems for the Indian oil industry. The sanctions on Iran and Venezuela had blocked up 3% of the world’s oil supply, which is about 3 million barrels per day. But now Joe Biden’s win can lead to a resumption of crude oil from Iran to India, which would eventually reduce the oil prices in India. India is the third-biggest importer and user of oil in the world and needs its oil imports to be diversified in order to buy cheaper oil to slash its import bill and save foreign exchange.

Trade

The US is one of those rare countries with which India exports more goods than we import from them. The United States has established an accelerated trade relationship with India. In 2019, overall U.S.-India bilateral trade in goods and services reached ₹1000 crore. In 2019-20, India exported goods worth ₹40 Lakh crore to the US — that’s roughly 17% of all Indian exports that year — and imported goods worth ₹ 2 Lakh crore in return — that’s roughly 7.5% of all Indian imports. Energy exports are a major area of growth in the trade relationship between these 2 countries. Trade is likely to roll in more consistent policies but the alleviation of trade tensions could put an impact on the Indian beneficiaries for example chemicals, manufacturing, and agriculture. But Biden’s presence could also start the trade between China and the US, which would affect the trade factors of India.

H1-B Visa

President Biden plans to increase the number of H1-B visas, and also cancel the limit on visas by India. Which would benefit a lot of professionals which were impacted by the restrictions. Easy green cards was one of the first promises by him to strengthen the US-India relations.

Investment

India’s 5th biggest source of FDI is the United states. Apart from FDI (or investment in the physical assets inside India), the US also accounts for one-third of all Foreign Portfolio Investments (that is, investment in financial assets) and Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) into India. FPI data indicates that total assets under custody were ₹33.22 lakh crore as of September 2020, and ₹11.21 lakh crore of this amount was accounted for by the US. On trade, Biden is likely to be better than the current Trump administration.

Kashmir

Biden’s campaign website touched on the internal issues of India. And it states that the “Indian government should take necessary steps to restore rights for all the people of Kashmir”. The democrats also stated that the US government should speak out boldly in support of the international humanitarian life and support of the UN-backed peace resolution. Hence, Biden is expected to push forward the pressure over India to resolve the issue in Kashmir.

Military help

Biden said in the Times interview, The US and India will stand together against terrorism in all forms and work together to promote a region of peace and stability where neither China nor any other country will threaten its neighbor. India and the US deal on the supply of weapons according to which India can buy more advanced and sensitive technologies from America. With this deal, India and the US have become better strategic partners. And this will help India with all the border security from China and Pakistan.

Together with Covid infection control and economic recovery, the US could again provide the global economy with a growth impulse that countries like India need to improve their exports and expand. The Biden administration aims to have India and the US as natural allies. Biden pushed to remove the sanctions on India after the Pokhran nuclear test of 1998. He also convinced the Senate to retain curbs in Pakistan. Which involuntarily helped India with the border cease firing and runoffs. The past presidents of US Richard Nixon, Ronald Regen’s policies and decisions also favored Pakistan and with the Democrats’ government things can turn into our favor.
