Call me Lark Oak Garcia the way I support Sparrow rights and Sparrow wrongs and am also in a panicked state wondering where the fuck he is.

Free my man he did all of that but it was to save his father, mother, and six year old son from being mauled to death by a flesh monster, and as I discussed in this little ramble from last week, the code purple situation ultimately reduces to a trolley problem except there's presumed to be a near equal number of people on both sides, but Sparrow's children are on one set of tracks. "What about Walter? What about Erin?" Fair and valid concerns. Counterpoint, what about Hero? What about Normal? What about Mae Hailes and all the other people working for D.A.D.D.I.E.S.?
Or: Sparrow didn't "doom two worlds", he changed which world was doomed in order to save his kids. Know the difference.

Okay but it would be *kind of* funny if Sparrow, Nicky, and Terry are all in Hell and Grant and Lark of all people are the two kiddads left alive and stuck with each other.

So I don't think that Sparrow is dead, but if he is (or if he does die eventually) demon Sparrow has ram horns okay? Please. Please? Oh shit or deer horns (which isn't very demonic but that would still be cool) HM.

Now folks, I don't plan on getting into the habit of sharing clips from the uncuts here (not because I don't want to I just don't wanna get in any trouble lmao) but the end of the uncut of episode 47 had a tiny bit of extra stuff with Sparrow and little Normal as well as Lark and little Hero (also some pretty neat if graphic descriptions of the flesh monster) that I myself quite enjoyed so- sharing that here!
Almost like an itty bitty supplemental to what we got today! (Though ultimately of course things played out a tad differently).

Otherwise, I've also been seeing people bring up and discuss the matter of Sparrow's decision to jump on code purple seemingly being rather rash, which in and of itself I think is fair tbh. However, I'm sooner inclined to give Sparrow the benefit of the doubt here and think that his decision to go for code purple immediately was based on a legitimate assessment of the direness of the situation (related: I certainly don't think it was him using the situation as an "excuse" to enact code purple, as I've seen suggested). The flesh monster being contained within D.A.D.D.I.E.S. implies that the team has dealt with it before, though surely with much better preparation that time around (and presumably not with everyone trapped in a building with it), hence Sparrow should know already what it's capable of. He also makes a point to ask Mae Hailes how bad the situation is and get her intel before coming to any sort of conclusion, further suggesting that there was a genuine assessment of the stakes before choosing such an extreme course of action. One could also look to Henry's own helplessness when faced with one of the smaller flesh monsters to get an idea of just how powerful this thing is- yes Henry is partially distracted, but he can also be assumed to be *quite* powerful at this point, so the fact that a mere subset (offspring?) of the monster would have been capable of killing him fairly easily is quite telling. And this commotion with Henry was at the top floor of the building where the monster would have spread the least since it was coming from below. All this to say, I really don't think this was a case of Sparrow taking advantage of a situation to do something he "wanted to do anyways", I think this was Sparrow choosing an extreme course of action because he genuinely believed (and had reason to believe) that it was the only option that would get his family (and all the other people at D.A.D.D.I.E.S. who hadn't already been mauled) out of there alive. Is there a non-zero chance that the Oak-Garcias could have gotten out of there otherwise? Yes. But there's also a very real possibility that they would have all just died there, and an even greater chance that a sizeable chunk of the one organization actually equipped to deal with the Doodler (including the head in the case where Henry is among the losses) would have perished.

What's the bone you have to pick please tell?
Anon you gotta let a girl have her vague little vents in the final tags of a meme post lol. Answering that question properly would be a long-ass ramble, and not one I'm really ready to go off over while I'm still in the post-episode rush. There's also just certain forms of negativity that I usually prefer to avoid bringing to the table?
...But since you asked, I suppose you could say that the gist is I often find myself feeling a bit weary of Will's handling of Sparrow as an NPC, or more accurately his general lack of concern for the twins' arcs in the greater narrative context. I think it's great that Normal is a very emotionally stubborn character, but sometimes it's a little *too much* for my personal tastes. Which is to say, I often get the impression that he is very preoccupied with optimizing Normal's angst factor (often at the expense of nuance- particularly with respect to Sparrow's characterization), and much less interested in giving Norm a relationship with his dad that actually develops or goes anywhere new or interesting. Mostly it just leaves me worried about whether or not things will end on a narratively satisfying beat or not by the end of the season (which, to be clear, does not mean I expect or want everything to be rainbows and butterflies, either).
Which isn't to bring down Will too much as a player either- there's obviously very many things that he does extremely well but. I mean all the players have their strengths and weaknesses, and when it comes to Will I guess one of my major critiques lies there! Hopefully that answers your question at least somewhat, anon. Not asking you to agree with these feelings, obviously. But hey, you're the one who asked lol.

babs every time link and norm interact im like this is a cheerkicks win . rhis is a cheerkicks win . <- chanting that to myself through the pain
LMAO ME TOO CAL and I figure the teens will probably regroup pretty early into the next episode cause they never seem to stay separated for that long (oh FBI days how I miss you so-) but. I'm kinda really crossing my fingers and hoping that they stay split for a bit? Both for the potential Normal and Lincoln interactions (not without apprehension for how the Norm-biased fandom will handle those but all the same! cheerkicks please!!!) BUT ALSO honestly for potential Scary and Taylor interactions???? I JUST WANNA STUDY THEM AND SEE WHAT THEY DO OKAY.
