a weapon and its dog aka the longer I think up Hound and Lion the messier and unhinged it gets.

both have completely lost their understanding of personhood but in different directions. Lion, because they decided to exist for the singular purpose of being the sorta by-a-higher-ower-chosen-one and knight to their realm. Hound because their job is to be completely interchangable as a protector for hire, whatever that may include.

so now for Hound to be the protector of a person who's literally existence hinges on being the one doing the fighting without regard for their own being, it makes stuff a bit funky.

and then theres that part where Hound gets to be as messy and unhinged as they want to be, because Lion has no standard or expectations for them except be there on Lion's travel as a partner. and Hound really, really enjoys it. travels of self discovery that end with them being kinda insane and codependent and sorta weirdly romantic ahoy!

Vistra and Edrin get really loud and competitive with video games. Both respectfully having broken at least one gaming console bc of it

Grace and Villmos are gaming geniuses. They make fun of the others but are almost as bad as Edrin and Vistra if they play against each other

Bob cheats and is the bane of everyone’s experience bc of it. Villmos just absolutely can mir explain how he of all people could lose against them

Willow and Legolas don’t play often but they are naturally very talented which makes Edrin sulk

Arzeus has eaten at least one game

And my addition to this is that Lyn knows every video game score and soundtrack by heart and will personally see to it that everyone is randomly soundtracked throughout their lives ESPECIALLY the ones like Vilmos and grace who beat all of them relentlessly

some more knight squad doodles and lil scenes between them. some more rambles under the cut, cause hey, i'm going along with whatever vibe i have for them and then do stuff with it!

it's very fun to create a character that did everything they thought they could to archive their dream of being the best. and then in comes some fucker that's even stronger, at least in their eyes. but Hawk, unlike Lion, has a very different dream, but they can't really differntiate that. they only see Lion as someone that has given their whole being and now Hawk thinks that what they should have done too. Doesn't help that Lion does not have the emotional capacity to see that, or that they have an unwavering confidence in their choices. Something Hawk desperately needs.

the actual difference is that one of them is a knight, while the other is a weapon, because I love me those characters that are weapons and what led them there. aka, Hawk, sit down and breathe and think.

The one with Hound is just the thought that Hound and Lion started together with Hound acting as a guide/bodyguard of sorts and is, for the longest time, the only one of the squad being allowed to both touch and see a bit of Lion. Which leads to some very soft moments that have Lion vibrate out of their skin because there is touch, softness, someone takes care of Me. Very fun dynamic.

And Stallion? Stallion kinda breaks my heart the longer I think them up. They love their spouse so much and they both adore each other to their bones and something something, the one you love is slowly but surely dying. Because of the mask thing their spouse wears, they were immediatly reminded of said spouse when they first met Lion. Gave Stallion almost a heartattack and maybe made them wanna cry because of homesickness. At this point, I'm just pointing at each character and think up some stuff about them for me to have fun, which often ends with them in weird dynamics that are kinda painful but also full of dumbassery.

Almost a year ago I finished my Curse of Strahd campaign. It was a great experience and I would love to repeat it as a player

But now I have the opprotunity to lead this wonderful campaign as a second Game Master! I can’t wait to see how it goes and how the players will do in Barovia.

But for now I have extra reason to draw Strahd! (If I needed any more reason of course)
