We create each of our hand-painted baubles by painting gold, silver and copper onto a thin 100% recycled cardstock (made from old coffee cups! ♻️) which has a great twinkle in the light. Some Christmas headcanons for Neighbor!Simon:
The first year he's home for Christmas is after his medical discharge.
He does not let you in. At all. You go over to see him, he gives you a curt explanation that it's a bad time, and closes the door on you.
After that, he essentially hermits until after Christmas. You can barely tell he's even there.
By the time next Christmas rolls around, you're an official couple. Have been for some months.
He lets you in and explains why christmastime is so hard for him. He tells you that he can't be too close to the lights and decorations without feeling like he's back in time, surrounded by the bodies of his family.
He still hermits that year, but not quite as much. If you set up decorations, he won't come around your place, but he's less opposed to you coming to visit him.
He starts trying to DIY his own therapy after that, essentially. Starts trying to do exposure therapy on himself. If you see a therapist, he goes with you and picks up some tricks via osmosis.
Its success is... shaky, but it's something, considering how he refuses to see an actual therapist himself.
Thus, the third Christmas he spends at home, he does what you think is the unthinkable.
He asks to help you decorate your Christmas tree.
You tentatively agree, not wanting to throw him into a crisis, but he's insistent. Says it would be good exposure, that you're a safe space for him. He promises to tell you if it gets to be too much.
So... you decorate a tree with him. He helps you set it up, helps you put the garland and lights on, hands you ornaments to put on and puts some on for you if there are any spots you can't reach.
You can tell he's hesitant through the entire affair. Cautious. Like he's expecting a flashback to hit him or a panic attack to rear its head. But neither of them do.
Until you get to the very last part - the star on top.
You turn to him with it in your hands, asking if he'd like to do the honors.
He looks at it for a moment, and then you see his eyelids slam shut as he grimaces. His breathing picks up, and he starts clenching and unclenching his fists. The only explanation he offers is a quiet "Think I'm back there again."
You gently guide him to sit, kneeling in front of him. He has an iron grip on your hands as you go through some breathing and grounding exercises with him, reminding him that he's not in the past, that he's here with you.
It's a process that takes some time, but eventually you lead him back from his flashback. By now, he's tired. Worn out from his fight.
You take over and take care of him (with, surprisingly, only minor complaints from him). You take him home, curling up with him and putting on a movie.
He tries to apologize, but you won't have it. Instead, you let him rest while the television plays softly in the background.
His position of choice is on the couch, him laying atop you with his head on your chest while you massage his scalp.
He feels guilty. You know he does. You can tell him over and over how he has nothing to feel guilty for, how proud you are of him for even trying at all, but you know he doesn't believe it. Not fully.
So instead, you do your best to be there for him. And he appreciates it more than words can say.
You're his world, and as he lays atop you listening to your heartbeat, he feels so much gratitude for you that it makes his chest ache.

So I was scrolling through the Christmas tag and realized I could make a post about our low waste Christmas stuff
Make a pinecone garland. We collect ours from the alley behind the house but you can also collect them from the woods, parks, etc. All you do is take the pinecone and tie a rustic twine around them. You can also use this method for ornaments
Dried orange garland. Compostable and looks neat, you can reuse every year if done right but if you don't, bam compost. I recommend using a cotton twine for extra compost abilities
Same thing with food garland for the tree, use cotton for easily compostable.
Or make a garland for the birds outside! I recommend this link: https://www.thespruce.com/bird-garland-project-diy-385752
Please forgive me for the actual link i have no idea how to hyperlink on tumblr
Vintage! We have an antique store with a vendor who sells ornaments for 1$ no matter what. I've gotten so many cool and unique pieces from her.
Actually a lot of my Christmas decor is second hand, especially keep an eye out at summer yardsales
Thrift gifts! I went to a church sale on the last day so they had a fill a garbage bag for 3$ sale! I completely bought out their mugs and I'm going to fill them with baked goods for my coworkers that work with me on Christmas eve as something extra festive :)
Besties this is popular on TikTok rn but I've been doing it for a hot minute but use tree skirts as shawls or sew together for skirts! Super cute and can find second hand easily enough
Gift handmade items. I love receiving and giving items i made myself
We also reuse wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, etc
You can also use paper grocery bags as wrapping paper along with cotton string
You can decorate packages with dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks (a little pricy though), pine boughs, etc for a little flare
Reused Christmas decor! I shared a couple posts before making this one (paper bag star garland and recycled plastic bottle bells), but you can also make paper snowflakes out of recycled paper, a Christmas countdown chain out of recycled paper, bottle cap art, origami out of old wrapping paper, paper towel rolls painted with some red ribbon to form candy cane sticks, etc. Just be creative!!!

How to Personalize Your Christmas Tree Decorations for a Memorable Holiday
Tumblr media
The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the cherished tradition of decorating the Christmas tree. For many, this tradition represents the heart of the festive season, a time when families come together to create something beautiful and uniquely their own. If you're a holiday enthusiast or a home decor lover looking to add a personal touch to your Christmas tree this year, you're in the right place. In this blog post, we'll explore how to personalize your Christmas tree decorations to make your holiday celebrations truly memorable.
Why Personalize Your Christmas Tree Decorations?
Personalizing your Christmas tree decorations offers several benefits:
Creates Unique Memories: Personalized ornaments can commemorate special events, milestones, or family traditions.
Adds a Personal Touch: Custom decorations reflect your personality and style, making your tree uniquely yours.
Enhances the Holiday Spirit: Personalized decor can make your home feel warmer and more inviting during the holiday season.
Key Elements of Personalized Christmas Tree Decorations
To personalize your Christmas tree decorations effectively, consider the following elements:
1. Custom Ornaments
Ornaments are the heart and soul of any Christmas tree. Choosing personalized ornaments can make your tree stand out and hold special meaning year after year.
Metal Ornaments
Our metal Christmas tree ornaments are designed to be durable and bring holiday cheer for years to come. Here are their unique features:

Available in Four Shapes: Bell, Tree, Round, and Oval.

Red Ribbon for Hanging: Included with each ornament.
One Ornament per Pack: Each pack contains a single, high-quality ornament.
These metal ornaments are perfect if you're looking for something that will last through countless holiday seasons.
Wooden Ornaments
For those who love a rustic, charming look, our personalized wooden ornaments are an excellent choice. Here’s what makes them special:
Material: Made from solid wood for a classic, rustic feel.
Magnetic Back: Allows for versatile placement on metal surfaces.
Red Ribbon for Hanging: Adds a festive touch and makes hanging easy.

These wooden ornaments are perfect for adding a cozy, homey touch to your holiday decor.
2. Themed Decorations
Choose a theme that resonates with your family or personal interests. Whether it's a winter wonderland, vintage Christmas, or a contemporary chic theme, having a consistent theme can tie all your decorations together beautifully.
3. Family Heirlooms
Incorporate heirloom ornaments and decorations passed down through generations. These pieces add historical value and sentimental significance to your tree.
4. DIY Ornaments
Get creative and make some DIY ornaments. This can be a fun family activity and allows you to add a truly personal touch to your tree. Consider using materials like felt, paper, or even baking gingerbread ornaments.
5. Personalized Tree Toppers
A tree topper is the crowning glory of your Christmas tree. Personalized tree toppers, such as custom-made stars, angels, or monograms, can add a unique finishing touch.
Tips for Decorating Your Personalized Christmas Tree
Start with the Lights: Always begin by stringing the lights around your tree. This provides a glowing backdrop for your ornaments.
Balance Your Ornaments: Distribute your ornaments evenly around the tree to ensure a balanced look.
Layer Your Decorations: Place larger ornaments deeper within the tree and smaller ones towards the outer branches.
Add Garlands and Ribbons: Incorporate garlands and ribbons to add texture and depth.
Finish with a Tree Skirt: A tree skirt can complement your theme and hide the tree stand, giving a polished look.

6 Creative Christmas Design Ideas With Cricut Explore
Searching for Cricut Christmas ideas? What’s the best way to showcase your creativity? Christmas is my favorite time of the year, as I love attending family gatherings and creating precious memories. Crafting not only helps me bring people together but also helps in grooming my imaginative side with everyone. With an aim to enter the crafting industry as a professional crafter, I added the Cricut Explore machine to my art collection.
Since then, I have not looked back and made many custom projects for personal as well as professional uses. Besides, most of my customers appreciate my crafting skills and are already ordering Christmas projects to decorate their workplaces and homes. In this blog, I will help you make a final decision in choosing the best Merry Christmas design for this festival.
1.  Iron-On Advent Calendar
Being a mother of two kids is a challenging job, as I have to be on my toes whenever any festival is on its way. This year, I will surprise them by making an advent calendar for them as it will keep them busy counting the total days left for the festival. To transform one of my Cricut Christmas ideas, I need to buy an Explore cutting machine, EasyPress Mini, Iron-On, and Advent blank.
2.  Stockings
Now, one of my favorite Cricut craft ideas for Christmas that immediately comes into my mind is designing stockings. Without any doubt, hanging DIY stockings across the home adds more grace and positive vibes to the festivals. However, to create this personalized item out of this Cricut product, I am going to buy cutting mats, EasyPress Mini, and a Pastel tool set.
3.  Paper Star Garland
Further adding to Cricut Christmas ideas, my personal favorite Merry Christmas design is creating a paper garland. Whether it’s a small reunion or a grand one, the paper star garland is the perfect decoration that adds elegance to the surroundings. With the help of this crafting machine, I can make this project in different sizes, shapes, and colors. Besides, I need to have a scoring stylus, StandardGrip mat, and other materials as per your project.
4.  Front Door Decal
Apart from hanging wreaths, I will also decorate my front door by designing a Merry Christmas decal. Evidently, the decal will give my guests a warm feeling, sharing that I welcome them with all my heart and hugs. I want to say that creating door decals is one of the most accessible decorative items. However, to give them a proper form, you need to have an Explore cutting machine, cutting mat, weeding tool set, and scraper set.
5.  Window Decal
Besides creating decals for the front door out of this machine, I can also make customized window decals to display my creative side. The window decals will help me in making my house look more appealing and eye-pleasing. In fact, to create these Cricut Christmas ideas, I am going to use Explore, an XL scraper, a StandardGrip mat, and a toolset of 5 pieces.
6.  Christmas Hamper
With an aim to make my guest’s night memorable, I decided to bid them goodbye with a Christmas hamper. It was fun to create a personalized hamper on my own. Their hampers are available in different sizes, shapes, and patterns. Besides, I got the chance to make this craft by using this machine, cutting mat, Design Space, transfer sheet, and toolset of 5 pieces.
Cricut Christmas ideas are a fun and rewarding activity to utilize the time and express personal feelings with them. Undoubtedly, creating crafts at home is cost efficient and eco-friendly also. Other than that, the Explore machine gives me the freedom to make uncountable free Cricut Christmas designs from over 100+ materials. Having this Cricut product, I get different chances to design crafts for various occasions and festivals.

The Art of Christmas Tree Decor: Transforming Trees into Holiday Masterpieces
Introduction:
The Christmas tree, adorned with twinkling lights and an array of ornaments, stands as an iconic symbol of the holiday season. Decorating the Christmas tree is a cherished tradition that brings families and communities together in a festive spirit. In this article, we explore the art of Christmas tree decor, from timeless classics to contemporary trends, offering inspiration for creating your own holiday masterpiece.
The Foundation: Choosing the Perfect Tree:
The journey of Christmas tree decor begins with selecting the perfect tree. Whether you opt for a real evergreen with its natural fragrance or a convenient artificial tree that can be reused year after year, the key is to find a tree that fits your space and complements your decorating style. Consider factors such as size, shape, and color to create a harmonious foundation for your festive display.
Lights: Illuminating the Magic:
The first step in bringing a Christmas tree to life is the addition of lights. Strings of twinkling lights, available in a variety of colors and styles, form the foundation of your tree's enchantment. Traditional white lights impart a timeless elegance, while multicolored lights add a playful and vibrant touch. The choice of lights sets the tone for the entire decor scheme.
Ornaments: A Symphony of Style:
Ornaments are the heart of Christmas tree decor, reflecting personal style and cherished memories. From heirloom ornaments passed down through generations to whimsical creations picked up during travels, each ornament tells a story. Consider a theme for your tree, whether it's a classic red and green palette, a winter wonderland of silver and blue, or a rustic collection of natural elements like pinecones and burlap.
Tree Toppers: Crowning Glory:
No Christmas tree is complete without a crowning touch. Tree toppers come in various forms, from traditional angels and stars to more modern and unique creations. The tree topper serves as a focal point, tying together the overall theme and adding a touch of grandeur to your holiday centerpiece.
Garlands and Ribbons: A Finishing Flourish:
Garlands and ribbons provide the finishing touch, adding depth and texture to your Christmas tree decor. Tinsel, beaded garlands, and festive ribbons can be woven throughout the branches, enhancing the overall visual appeal. These elements contribute to a cohesive and polished look, creating a sense of unity in the diverse array of ornaments.
DIY Delights: Crafting Personalized Ornaments:
For a truly unique and sentimental touch, consider incorporating do-it-yourself ornaments into your Christmas tree decor. Handcrafted ornaments add a personal flair, and they can be a fun activity for the whole family. From salt dough creations to photo ornaments capturing precious memories, DIY ornaments contribute to the warmth and authenticity of your holiday display.
Conclusion:
Christmas tree decor is an art form that allows individuals and families to express their creativity and embrace the festive spirit. Whether you prefer a classic and timeless look or a more modern and eclectic style, the key is to infuse your personality and traditions into the decoration process. So, as the holiday season approaches, gather your loved ones, put on some festive music, and embark on the delightful journey of transforming your Christmas tree into a breathtaking holiday masterpiece.

Christmas Balloon Decorations
Let’s take a look at how balloon decorations can help you celebrate this season!
Christmas Balloon Decorations
Choosing the Right Color Scheme
When it comes to holiday decorating, color is a key. To make sure your balloons look festive and enjoyable, choose a color scheme that reflects the season. Think traditional Christmas colors like red and green, along with silver or gold accents. Of course, if you want to get creative you can always try different combinations — perhaps purple and gold or blue and white! Whatever color scheme you choose should complement each other, so make sure to do some research beforehand if needed.
Choosing Your Balloons
When it comes to choosing the perfect balloon for your Christmas decorations, you have plenty of options! You can opt for traditional round latex balloons, or go with something a bit more unique like heart-shaped or star-shaped balloons. If you want something even more special, there are also clear balloons filled with confetti or glitter, metallic balloons that shimmer in the light and even giant foil balloons in all kinds of shapes and sizes. No matter what kind of look you’re going for this holiday season, there’s sure to be a type of balloon that will fit the bill!
Getting Creative With Your Balloon Decorations
Now that you’ve got all the supplies you need to get started on your balloon decorations, it’s time to get creative! There are so many different ways you can use balloons as part of your Christmas display. Hang them from the ceiling in clusters or strings; make garlands by attaching them together with string or ribbon; use them as centerpieces on tables; create towering columns using stacks of smaller helium-filled balloons; fill glass jars with helium-filled balloons; wrap presents in clusters of colorful balloons; or hang large decorated letters from the ceiling spelling out “Merry Christmas.” The possibilities are practically endless!
Table Centerpieces
Unique Christmas Balloon Table Centerpieces
If you are planning on hosting any holiday meals this year, using balloons as table centerpieces is an excellent way to bring some extra cheer to your dinner table. You can either opt for traditional latex balloons or for more decorative foil balloons if you want a more luxurious look. Consider choosing colors that have special significance during the holidays like red, green, blue, silver, and gold. You could also opt for clear balloons filled with confetti or even mini holiday-themed trinkets like candy canes or snowflakes!
Doorway Decorations
What better way to welcome guests into your home than with some festive balloon decorations? Whether it’s a single large balloon or multiple smaller ones arranged in an arch shape over the doorway, these decorations will make sure everyone who enters feels the Christmas spirit. To make it even better, try tying some tinsel along with the balloons or adding some sparkly ribbons.
Wall Hangings
Wall Hangings
Balloons can also be used as wall hangings that will instantly add life and color to any room. All you need is some string or ribbon (to attach them) plus some tape (to secure them). You could opt for one larger balloon or several smaller ones of different sizes and colors arranged in an interesting pattern. Alternatively, you could take things up a notch by creating larger balloon sculptures in various shapes such as stars or snowflakes – perfect for those Instagram pictures!
Making Your Festivities Memorable
After all is said and done, what matters most is that everyone at your event has an enjoyable time. By adding balloon decorations, you are sure to make your festivities memorable for years to come! Not only will they provide visual appeal for guests but also be something for them to talk about long after the event ends. Plus, who doesn’t love playing with (and popping) balloons?

I present to you, our decorations for Christmas 2021! I like to share them because I'm proud of having done them myself and the best part is, I didn't spend ANY money on making them. We have our Christmas tree. Since we have collected so much cardboard boxes from all the online shopping we did, I thought of making a Christmas tree out of it, but I don't know how. What do I do? Go to Pinterest! I saw a simple DIY Christmas tree from strips of cardboard and stack them on a pole by punching holes at the center of every strip. Here is the link of the tutorial: https://pin.it/445bnUn Then the star at the top is also a DIY. I downloaded a PDF template and paste the sides of each point amd paste them all together to make tge star. Here is thelink of the tutorial: https://pin.it/xTvkbIZ and I just put some used ornament balls and glittered poinsettia. We also have some garlands with ornaments on top of our window and doorway. I also made a wreath from old garlands that we have, put some Christmas ribbons, silver ornament balls, and some holly. I also decorated the massive wall behind our dining table. We never decorated it so I thought that I can spice it up for Christmas this time. I had a hard time finding wall deaigns where I don't have to use complicated materials or equipments such as nails, drills, and hammers, something cute and easy to do. Also, I was finding an excuse to use my printer and I have a lot of spare ink and I don't want them to go to waste. So I looked for something that I can print instead. I decided to go for the 3D stars. Here is the link of the tutorial: https://youtu.be/7wnu5rlc40E I don't have any colored papers arpubd so I just printed out colored squares to make the 3D stars. Then I printed out large Christmas balls and those strings are leftover threads from my cross stitch set. I think our wall it looking pretty cute, hehe. Lastly, we decided to use our belen and put it on the coffee table in our sala. Let me know what you think! (at Morong, Rizal) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWxxDiupsM8/?utm_medium=tumblr
