Ha, if this isn't true idk what is! Anyone else get a "shot" of insulin upon placing a new pod? Carter does! 🙋🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ So when he went to eat last night we had to factor in some sort of insulin dose that would be given in the new site, subtract that from what dinners bolus would be and go off that. Oh, and it was almost bed time so we erred on the side of caution as always but then he also needed a bath and the warm water makes him drop quickly 🤦🏼‍♀️ so you tell me, oh mighty God of Insulin... Most diabetics would freak at this kind of graph... But not us! A few months ago, this same chart showed us only ”in range" 17% of the time. To have 56% of Carter's day be in range is nothing short of a miracle. Can anyone tell I'm feeling a little bitter lately? Life has knocked me down and dragged me through the mud. I've had people I didn't think I could be any closer to stab me in the back, say awful things about my family and my T1 son and then had my name smeared everywhere I used to feel comfortable. There was going to be a huge, life changing event for someone close to me where I literally was giddy with excitement... Now that event causes me sleep loss and stress and feelings of absolute despair. This year hasn't been nice to me... That's an understatement. But I'm picking myself back up, piece by piece, and you better believe I'm going to fight harder than ever to raise awareness for Carter's type of diabetes. I've got him on every registry out there and even pre-registered for Dr. Faustmans Lab trials for pediatric treatment of type one Diabetes. I will not stop until there's a cure. You don't want to hear about it? There's the door ↗️ I'm done trying to play everyone's games and be the nice person. I live for my family and myself - period ✌🏻 A big thank you to the Instagram community of fellow parents and T1D parents... I have already learned so much and feel like I have made genuine friends !
