HI UM i really admire you and your art and i was wondering --

so i really love the way you format your comics, its really straight-forward and lets the reader process every word with ease (which i think adds to the impact of the writing), and that one rue comic with the split colors for the parentheses... how do you do it without making it look so messy?? to bring up another example, the hide-and-seek comic- i love how subtle and genius the call back to hiding behind the door was, it blew my mind... i take a lot of inspiration from the way you format and lay out your comics but for some reason i cant wrap my head around how you do so much with so little (in reality this might just be the result of me wanting to add so many little details for others to find , while being conflicted on keeping it simple, and,,, AGH...) for context : im trying to make a comic about isolation, but i keep filling up the page because i want to add things - when really i know i should be keeping it simple... but other than removing unnecessary details, i want to know what else you do to make your comics so clean and simple yet it rips out the emotions from your heart and has you stare at it as it beats. like... i want that type of impact!! i want to affect others on such an intense level!! i want to induce emotions!!! but how?

(sorry this was long, HAHAHA i just want to drive my point home- again with the 'wanting to add a lot of stuff to prove a point' thing but i digress)

tbh for me the answer of keeping things uncluttered is paying attention to spacing and eye direction. Spacing depends on timing, if you want an action to happen slowly for instance you can make the space between panels longer, or take more panels for someone to complete an action. There's tricks for directing your eye, if you ever read anyth about focal points (eg biggest contrast, triangular shapes pointing towards what's important), but really with comics I keep in mind you're reading left to right and top to bottom.

The ruehob comic is actually simpler than you think 😅 I already knew which text had to be on the left and right with august's text post. And after that the "lanes" were so narrow there weren't a lot of complicated things I could do, just make sure you still read left to right and saunter vaguely downwards.

when you talk about putting little details, that doesn't necessarily have to distract people. Like I honestly applaud you having the drive to do detailing. You just have to make sure your compositions allow for it. Like if you think about ghibli backgrounds, they're elaborate and beautiful af.

For smth about isolation, my first thought was that you can draw a person in a setting alone among a bunch of objects, for instance. If you keep the person small but surround them with a bunch of detailed objects, it could feel very lonely. Just make sure the person still stands out b/c they're what's important, so for example the background stuff is a less saturated colour, or the person is the least detailed thing on the page. I think that's the main thing, you just have to make sure the things important to what you're saying stand out. Clarity is rlly half the battle when I'm laying things out haha

In school our teacher called this "killing your babies" because it sucks when you work hard on a cool drawing and it just doesn't work out😂This also still happens to me, it's actually partly why I keep things simple so I can work fast and throw out less

Hi anon! Welcome to the wonderful world of witchcraft and spirit work ^-^

I think this is one of those things that doesn't go away with an easy answer.

Depending on where you're from, many of us were raised with deep fear of spirits and witchcraft, or even just the occult in general.

It's not wrong to be afraid, and fear itself can have a complex and powerful role in witchcraft; but I believe that's aside the point of someone trying to get into witchcraft and going "oh no! What if these forces are actually malevolent assholes who can't wait to tear me to shreds the very second I flub a line?"

But fear is information, right? One solution is to start learning and internalizing new, more balanced information, to help temper this response.

Gaining information can include things like:

Reading books from authors who work with planetary intelligences, who are able to speak on the personalities and behaviors of these intelligences

Linking up with other practitioners in a group setting and learning about their experiences

And eventually:

Performing rituals you're comfortable with and gaining information through experience

As far as I'm concerned, planetary magic is pretty decent to start out with. The planets are good guys, they're forgiving, not really all that uptight, and the magic is effective and powerful.

Some people might say, just jump right in! Start with a developed system and use the rituals of people who have done this thing a lot and have specially prepared rituals for beginners to try out what they want to try. Get over your fear by plunging in.

Which, sure, definitely do so if you'd like to.

But on the other hand, if you'd prefer to explore your fear a little more and gain balancing information first, why not do that?

Ultimately, I really don't think anyone out here should be working with beings they think are going to cause major shit if they get a little bit pissed off.

Recently I was speaking to a friend who voiced some concerns about spirit work, especially the possibility of making spirits angry and therefore aggressive. My response was, yeah, that's fine if they do that; accidentally pissing someone off is a normal part of interpersonal connection.

For example, imagine you run into a mother and her baby at the grocery store. You strike up a brief conversation, and overtaken by how cute that little baby is, you say, "what a cute baby!" and you grab and wiggle it's little foot.

The mother, reasonably, says, "no. Stop touching my baby. You shouldn't touch my baby."

And based on her expression, she means it.

So you say, "oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me. You're right, that was inappropriate."

And she chills out and then the two of you follow each other on TikTok and trade information on farmer's markets.

So it's kind of like this in spirit relationships, too. Anger and aggression aren't bad. When you go over the line, a shift in tone that encourages you to get back into your lane isn't bad.

It's information; it's telling you that you shouldn't be doing that. It's information that you choose how to act on.

The problem is if you choose to work with spirits who then decide to put you through shit if you do anything to ever dare piss them off, no matter how innocent or accidental your mistake was.

Which... don't work with spirits like that. And the planets aren't like that.

I dunno, I piss my spirits off. Not on purpose, but it happens. I pissed off my Initiator just last week and got lectured for a half-hour. I pissed off Mercury (planet) real bad once too. And he was just like, "ok, well... don't you do that again >:|"

If you're afraid of working with a category of spirits (like, planetary intelligences), ask yourself if there is any category of spirits you would feel comfortable with.

If your conclusion is that any spirit might start big shit with you if you make a mistake, then that information I suspect would reveal more about you than the spirit world.

Yeah. Work with the planets if you like; they're good guys. Take a step back and immerse yourself in things a little more if you feel the need to. Work with different spirits instead if you like. But I suspect that there is no single key that is going to resolve this for you. Big Fear Of Spirits is a big fear to transform.

Hello and welcome to football! Here you will see beautiful plays, awful mistakes, fights, good and bad matches, you'll experience sadness, happiness, you feel like going crazy and ready to yell and get angry at some players

😭 I'll try my best to explain😭 Basically football is a game between two teams, each of the two teams consists of a maximum of 11 starting players but during the match these players may be replaced by substitutes, the players may touch and move the ball with any part of their body except their arms, however the goalkeeper has the advantage of being able to use any part of his body to move the ball but only within his penalty area.

Each match will be controlled by a main referee who is in charge of the match, he has 2 assistant referees (or lineman) to assist him in making decisions, he also has a fourth referee who's the one who corroborates him, controls the substitutes and technical staff. This fourth one, also indicates the substitutions and the increase of the regulation time, the duration of a match is 90 minutes, each half being 45 minutes, with an intermediate rest period of a maximum of 15 minutes, however sometimes most of the time is lost during the match and since time must be made up at the end of each half, the main referee decides the length of the extension. The objective of the sport is to score more goals than the opponent and a team is considered to have scored a goal when the ball completely crosses the goal line of the opponent's goal, provided that no infringement of the rules of the game has been committed previously.

The referee can warn a player or technical team if they commit any type of foul, with a yellow card (warning) or red card (expulsion), if a player receives a red card, they'll be expelled from the field and cannot be replaced by another, also if a player receives two yellow cards in the same match, they'll receive a red card and be sent off.

There are different types of kicks, for example, if a player tries to hit or hits another player, pushes, holds, spits on them, the referee will give a direct free kick in favor of the team that didn't commit the infraction, which will be executed from the place of the infraction, if it occurred inside the own penalty area, regardless of the position of the ball and whether the ball is in play, a penalty kick can be scored against the offending team or if a player plays in a dangerous manner or hinders an opponent an indirect free kick will be scored in favor of the team that did not commit the infraction.

If the ball leaves the field of play over a goal line after being touched by a defending player, a corner kick will be given to the opposing team, or if it is last touched by an attacker, a goal kick will be given to the defending team and if the ball leaves the field along one of the sidelines, a throw-in will be given to the team that did not touch the ball last.

An offside is an invalid position of a player if he intervenes in a play and is in front of the penultimate opponent when the player who makes the pass stops touching the ball; However, the application of the rule depends on other factors.

The positions are: Goalkeeper, defense (central, lateral, free and lane defense), midfielder (pivot, midfielder and interior) and forward (second forward, center forward and winger) There is also extra time and the penalty shootout, which is basically with big championships and there is a tie. heyy so im writing a character that's blind and she uses a white cane, and during one of her missions (she's part of a spy ring) she's gonna get hurted and is gonna need to use a cane (a walking stick) permanently. so how would she act in this situation where she basically needs to different types of cane to keep her mobility? or do you have any other sugestion about what to do in this situation?

Hi! Thanks for asking.

In this situation, she would likely need to have two canes; both a white cane and a walking stick, used in different hands. The two canes are so different that one came can’t really serve both functions, so she’d need to have one of each. This would of course leave her without a free hand most of the time, so she may want to prioritize using backpacks more than other kinds of bags that would require a free hand. It may be useful to research the experiences of double crutch users to get more ideas for how she would manage things with no free hands.

Depending on exactly what her physical support needs are, she might instead use a guide dog that has also been trained for mobility assistance or counterbalancing. Most guide dog schools can provide some cross training on tasks for additional disabilities, though you will want to research mobility assistance dogs to see if the kinds of tasks a dog can do would be useful for her particular disability. If her particular needs will be met by mobility tasks, then it’s entirely possible to have a guide dog that is also trained in those additional tasks.

Using a guide dog that is cross trained for mobility support would solve the no free hands problem since it only requires one hand, but a guide dog is definitely a very different travel style from a white cane, so you will want to really think about if she as a person would want to switch to a guide dog travel style. It’s a very personal and individual choice, and one is not inherently better than the other, so the switch shouldn’t be made casually. It’s entirely possible that she would be interested in switching to a guide dog lifestyle, but it’s also entirely possible that she would much prefer to use her white cane along with another mobility aid, instead.

One other option could be to use a white cane with a wheelchair depending on the nature of her injury. It sounds like something like a walking stick or mobility assistance dog would be better based on your ask, but if there is more information that might make a wheelchair relevant, that can also be an option. It can be somewhat harder to use a white cane with a manual wheelchair, so many people prefer to use a power chair with a white cane, but a manual chair can absolutely be done if a manual chair would suit her lifestyle better.

If there are any blind and multiply disabled people or physically disabled people (especially those who use mobility assistance service dogs) who would like to chime in in the notes, please do!

i believe in rehabilitation and compassion, full stop. yes, even for those people. i think that othering and dehumanizing others sucks, that thoughts do not define you (yes, even those thoughts), and that the only thing that matters is your actions.

i think callouts are never helpful, ever. ive literally never seen one do anything helpful or good.

i try my best to interact with others in good faith, and i expect the same in return.

we were homeschooled in a cult and our education was heavily ~moderated~ to keep us brainwashed, and every time i think ive rooted out all the misinfo new stuff comes up. please be patient with me if i ask stupid questions, i literally am stupid. i have so much literal actual brain damage. i will do my best to be open minded, i rlly want to learn!

i believe that the best ways to combat csa are better sex education, breaking down the sanctity of the nuclear family, youth liberation (more legal rights and self advocacy for children), and not clogging child abuse report portals with fucking fictional art, jesus h christ.

medicalization of identities sucks. sysmeds, transmeds, im sorry youre miserable but thats not an excuse for trying to make everyone else miserable with you.

labels are only useful insofar as they help you connect with others like you and form solidarity in order to combat systemic oppression. if labels make you angry or miserable, consider not taking them so seriously.

its okay to just dislike ppl. its not always that deep. trying to come up with moral reasons to justify disliking ppl is rlly fucking catholic.

dont talk to me abt christianity. im aware that my trauma affects my ability to be compassionate in this area, so im staying in my lane. in fact probably dont talk to me abt religion in general.

im not a proshipper or an anti i touch grass <3, HOWEVER:

antishipping / purity politics / anti-kink / whatever you wanna call it, ppl equating fictional depictions of Obvious Bad Things with condoning, supporting, or normalizing them in real life are fucking stupid and have done unbelievable amounts of damage that has now reached far beyond fandom and kink circles. get a life, for fucks sake.

Having a trip down memory lane rn and reading statements made after 15x18 aired to make the contradiction post I promised last month. Jackles im in your fucking walls. Also I love how we went from ‘it’s angelic love, no human so no homo! Rogue translator am I right?’ To ‘Also, Cas is gay and Dean is a dickhead for not having answered and yeah he would have said I love you too’ (we’ll, for that last one, jackles still was like ‘not sexual though! I (dean, a perfectly adjusted individual) would have kissed him with tongue platonically’.

I’m exaggerating, but I’d love for Jackles to take a stand. I don’t understand why his and Misha’s reaction and words are so different considering that… they’ve talked about it? They still do I assume? I’ve read several time people saying that Jackles tries to just make everyone happy and it’s true that I’ve observed that his statements on the matter seem to vary depending on who he is with when addressing it. (Ex: when he’s with Misha or Danneel (👑 I love to see that the part of the fandom I’m in is normal about her and recognise how much of queen she is unlike some other fandoms I’ve been in in the past btw) vs when he’s with JarPad).

I can see where he’s coming from, but it doesn’t mean I like it. Maybe he truly is conflicted on the matter which is completely understandable considering the culture and environment he works in. He isn’t a big enough actor to just do whatever, but he’s still too popular in certain circles for it not to impact his career, especially considering for how long he played Dean. It’s the foundation of his resume. Maybe it’s just people pleasing. Maybe we’re just reading too much into it. Fuck if I know.

I really don’t know what to think. Tbh, The Winchesters had me convinced of the Jackles long con for a bit, but now we’ll most likely never know for sure.

Hmmm… what about a band/orchestra type au? (Im currently traveling down memory lane and I miss being in marching band…)

I can see Gai doing color guard (flags) because it’s different and fun. And even though he’s a guy and gets made fun of for it, he’s really good at it and becomes the Color Guard Captain. (Since he’s a taijutsu master, I feel like he knows how to move his body, but the finer points of playing an instrument and walking might be lost on him.)

Asuma plays the saxophone. It’s not a trumpet, but can be 100% as annoying and obnoxious. Is told multiple times to stop improvising and play what’s written.

Yamato normally plays the oboe, but when marching, he’s on the drum line. Probably playing bells.

Itachi plays the clarinet. He was the first one in his class to not squeak.

Ebisu might be a trumpet player. They’re obnoxious (I can say that because my brother was one 😉).

Anko probably plays the Tuba. For the shock value.

Shizune I can see on snare drum.

I’m not sure what to put Kakashi and Kurenai. Instruments I’m missing: Flute, Trombone (best instrument, don’t @me), bass drum, cymbals, baritone, drum major, conductor.

Yamato switches it up depending on who’s leading. There’s three conductors. The teacher/band leader (Danzo), the Principle sometimes swoops in to do it (Tsunade) and sometimes Kakashi takes over the job because he does like learning and Tsunade wants him to take over so it’s a student lead thing. If it’s Danzo he plays the Oboe. Simple, eligant and Danzo’s an arse who demands certain people play certain instruments. If it’s Tsunade he plays the triangle. Doesn’t stand out, supports the rest of the band without doing a whole lot, but is very much there. If Kakashi’s leading Yamato gets the bass drum because that’s what he loves and is really good at (did i make a name connection, yes leave me alone XD)

Kurenai i think would make a great person for cymbals. The cymbal’s can be something that really calls out to listeners and catches their attention and really wakes them up and surprises them. She loves it

Kakashi is a flute player and conductor in training (he’s actually already very good at it Danzo just refuses to step down). He has been playing flute since he was little and picked up his mother’s old flute and decided to try it out. Seeing how determined his son was, Sakumo decides to get him lessons. By the time he joins the band he’s top tier and Danzo wishes he could convince Kakashi to go pro but it’s simply not something Kakashi is interested in and Danzo HATES it

Given two of them, Mikoto, and You, were guilty.

Despite him fighting back, it didnt deter her, not in the slightest.

So, she went for Mahiru.

You were busy with Amane, still unsure if she'd go for her.

Unfortunately, no one was there to protect Mahiru, not until Shidou showed up.

Kotoko had her on the brink of death when he arrived, but even so, in almost a trance like state, he tended to her, and performed about a miracle.

That was probably it, that was probably what really sparked you.

Now, it was free fire on guilty inmates, leaving Fuuta, Amane, and, You.

Thankfully, Kazui, bless the old smoker ,protected Fuuta from Kotoko. However, still not without injury.

Okay, its You and Amane. The others try to console you, as Amane had left on her own.

You scoffed at their attempts to ease you.

"Dont calm me down, not when im not even worked up."

So, you went to find Amane, she atleast shouldn't be alone if Kotoko confronts her, violently or not.

You two sit in mostly silence, but its clearly appreciated from the young girl to have a safe figure.

And that's probably what sparked it for Shidou.

Amane had always hated him for whatever reason, he had yet to figure out. In fact, she detested just about everyone, and held herself up very strictly and righteously, even as a young girl.

Even so, you, with your crimes, certain actions, and overall behavior at times, still breaking atleast one wall within the girl, and staying by her side. It hit him.

It reminded him eerily of distant memories.

Still, it ached his chest in a vaguely familiar way.

And, eventually, Kotoko arrived.

Of course she said she had to attempt to hurt a child, just a 'talk'.

Obviously, you were having none of that, right ?

Out of the corner of his eye, he watched your leg swing up with a force he didn't realize you possessed.

It kicked her jaw, throwing it to the side with a satisfying or disturbing crack depending on you or asked.

Kotoko was swift, but perhaps she wasn't as prepared, or atleast not as much as she thought she was.

The other smokers and Amane watched in an unreadable expression, as the other didnt give Kotoko a chance to defend her self, but swinging with her other arm and aiming flat on the other side of her face.

You scoffed, and put your hand to her head before pushing her down, and stepping over to press your foot down onto her chest.

Internally, you were shitting your pants. Kotoko could absolutely overpower you with ease, you just needed to convince her she couldn't.

With being swift, and unreadable, you hoped the shock would seem like strength instead.

Thankfully, Kotoko, almost flustered at the actual audacity of this scene, backed down.

You left her with some half assed threat about staying in her lane, before watching as she left.

Shidou had to help you not throw up.

From then on out, you two seemed to stick together.

Hm.

(chris too, if in this au he's gone through the piers situation. :( ) and depending on how LONG it is until its revealed, its fucking hard fully breaking bonds and trust that have developed over time. like they WANT to believe in him and that he honestly doesnt want to do or have any malicious intentions, not to mention for DI leon its literally. himself. and he knows himself, and that man has such a bleeding heart, that he knows how he is with internalizing things, and running away, and just dealing with trauma in awful ways. some awful shit just managed to happen to this version of himself :( and its just such a damn slippery situation. they gotta make sure that resi6 leon is like, safe both to others and himself, and have to work out just. all the fucked up shit that went on. i am full on the team of working shit out :3 itll take a fucking while to reestablish trust and better communication (re6 leon is absolutely god awful at both working through and communicating his issues but time and effort is good and i love that shit!!) but i like to think it all works out in the end. stuff thats worth it takes time and effort and all that fun shit. :3

Ah! It makes sense to me. At least I think it does.

It would be a huge mixed bag of emotions and just overall issues between everyone. Nothing's going to be dandy in the beginning. RE6 gets fucking interrogated and slightly beat up (because him and DI do fight at the start and RE6 is HURT already from being practically exploded. Also he gets smooshed by DI, who probably weighs alot more than he does in terms of muscle.)

The type of BOW that RE6 Leon is not meant to be crazy powerful. Thanks to C-virus development and infusion, the Plagas the DSO designed are meant to be wholly symbiotic and free from restrictions their Spanish counterparts had. Basically Verdugo 2.0, but appearing entirely normal until the changes are required and able to return to form as needed which includes the tail being able to simply fall off and a short chrysalis state to undo anything else. It's still horribly painful. That'll be horrific if it gets out cause its literally a fast-lane to super soldier creation lol.

RE6 Leon is just a big cat. Thats it.

When it comes to the BOW shit getting out to the DI gang, RE6 harbors not an ill will bone in his body. What happened to him is not his fault. How he deals with it is because of what he's been conditioned for. He is what Leon would've turned out to have been if the DSO were more-- hands on with wanting to improve their assets. Human rights be damned. Leon isn't a human being to the government. Just some tool to be tossed around willy nilly at whatever they want and played with as some doll. DI knows this because he experiences this to a degree, though not being a labrat lol. The others don't know about how he's treated.

DI Leon having to look inward at himself in order to try and bridge gaps despite his differences (mostly in temperament/attitude) compared to RE6. Their experiences veer drastically enough. Chris as well as Claire needing to change approaches.

im pretty ambitious which can sometimes cause severe burnout, but i hate pushing myself further than i can and i am learning to set good boundaries. i am a relatively anxious person, but im rlly getting better at managing that. i'm also a massive hopeless romantic and my love language is quality time - and sometimes physical touch.

in my mind you would write for the stars hollow news as their music journalist.. 

so when a new band, which goes by the name of Hep Alien, appears on the scene you know you have to go write an article on them.

what you don’t imagine happening is finding the love of your life there!!!

you invite all the band for coffee at luke’s to talk to them about the band and the minute dave sees you he’s smitten.

he thinks your ever so pretty with your curly auburn hair and sweet smile.

then you speak and he’s blown away because not only are you super pretty but also clever and love music.

your literally his dream girl ok???

(his friends notice this immediately and tease him for it after)

the interview goes super well and let’s be real you think he’s pretty cute too so you share contacts ya know just in case you need to talk again!!!

the pair of you spend the whole night on the phone chatting…

which makes it extra special when he turns up at your house next day with your favourite flowers and tickets to go see a gig in hartford together and could you really say anything but yes???

he definitely tries to teach you guitar, like you’ll be sitting in front of him both your arms wrapped around the guitar with him just constantly kissing your cheek!!!

i feel like you’d call him davey as well and he’s have a super cute nickname for you like angel.

his friends tease him about you but really they’re just happy that he’s found someone who loves him so much.

you two when your old enough definitely get tattoos together.
