i will like forever stand by the fact that self-insert art is good and helpful honestly. call it cringe or whtever but at the end of the day you need to realize that drawing yourself or writing yourself into your favorite media that makes you happy can be incredibly healing. there is seriously nothing wrong with wanting to experience a bit of a reality in which u live a life that is with your favorite character ever even if its "weird" cuz honestly who the fuck cares. make urself happy. let yourself have that singular pleasure of imagining yourself with someone or something that brings you comfort outside of this world that is not nearly as kind

quiet and polite reminder that i’m not trying to be an autistic activist or advocate or even a particularly good influence or representative of what autism looks like- im just an autistic person existing on the internet. my interest is really only in being honest and hopefully sometimes helpful, but that’s really it. a lot of anon hate ive been receiving lately has been themed around the choices i make or don’t make and how i do or dont contribute positively or negatively towards the portrayal of the autistic community and like (?) that’s not really what im trying to do these days, especially on tumblr. that’s why i dialled back all the social media and other autism related work i was doing. i talk about autism now from the standpoint of being an autistic individual trying to get by in the world, and tumblr is my least pressured social media. its where i joke about things and complain about things and make flippant comments. im not worried about whether or not the things i say here are poor autism representation. im just existing and thinking and being silly. i don’t even know what else to say about it but? please stop
