Honestly, Christianity for me was like having a long-term boyfriend whose family I never met (and that he talked shit about constantly and somewhat jealously) only to finally meet them and discover that secretly Judaism was actually the sexiest, smartest, funniest woman I'd ever met and oh hey whoops now I'm a lesbian. Sorry man, I'm completely gay for her. Yeah, we're going out now, and probably getting married. No, there's nothing you can do to "fix it." No, you're probably not invited to the wedding. Sorry. :/

see the thing abt introducing yourself with a name that doesn’t match your ‘visible gender’ is that (if you live somewhere like me) nine times out of ten you will be met with confusion or discomfort or even disgust but one time you will be met with relief and joy and understanding and that makes it worth it. that makes it worth it ever time

Y’know something weird I’ve noticed? I’m way more confident writing DP x DC stuff than I am writing just DC stuff. I think it’s because the DP x DC fandom doesn’t really expect writers to have as much knowledge of both, so I don’t feel the same “can’t make any mistakes” feeling I get when I try to write DC fics. There’s just so much complex lore in the DC universe, from the comics to the shows, and a lot of it is different depending on what time period the stuff you’re reading/watching is from. I’ve never finished or even posted any DC stuff I’ve done cause I’m always worried that the lore I’ve learned from the shows and the lore I’ve learned from the comics will contradict each other or something, and I’ll get called out on it. There isn’t that same pressure when I’m writing for a subsection of the fandom that’s totally fine with inconsistencies and character rewrites
It’s really nice that everyone here is so nice

Once again, I am torn about posting a thing that is really upsetting me about the situation in Gaza, but I just know that if I do it's gonna get taken up by the people who just hate Israel and want to watch the world burn.
So I guess I'll just say this as a prelude: I believe in Jewish self-determination in eretz Yisrael because that is where Jews are from and all of our most sacred sites are there and our rituals and calendar are based on that land and have been for literal thousands of years. It's nice that Israel exists as a backup for when things inevitably heat up again in the diaspora and y'all goyim just can't stop yourselves from trying to kill us en masse. But even if antisemitism and Jew-hate of every kind stopped tomorrow and was guaranteed to never return, we would still have a reason to be there and that would be good and right and just. The exact form that would take is open to reasonable debate, but the baseline assumption should be that Jews have the same rights to self-determination in our ancestral homeland and responsibilities as a nation as everyone else and should be judged according to the same standards.
And in before anyone takes any of that to mean that I don't think Palestinians should also live free and well in peace and have their own self-determination: yes. They should. They should have all the same rights and responsibilities we do.
Ok? Ok.
WITH THAT SAID, holy fuck am I disgusted by the tactic of "flushing" the terror tunnels out with seawater. There are so many things wrong with that that I don't even know where to start and I'm just praying to G-d that it's a lot more limited and localized than it seems from reading about it. But I know it's happening because even the Zionist sites are talking about it like this is normal and not, y'know. Literally salting the earth and fucking up the water table for years, possibly decades. If that's not collective punishment, I don't know what is. That's punishing children who aren't even born yet for something done by a terrorist group. Again, it's unclear to me how widespread this is and I'm just hoping and praying it's a lot more limited and controlled than it sounds in the news.

*takes deep breath*
So.
I might have fallen into a Baldur's Gate 3 Rabbit Hole *accidentally* as of late (mostly because I found myself watching some playthrough as background company while artworking away in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, yours truly is poor as a church mouse, and cannot afford the game 😅).
And you know what this might entail.
I may or may not be in the process of drawing my Tav.
Because I may or may not have set eyes on a couple of gentlemen that are kinda drilling in my brain nonstop. (An enormous jar of cookies to whoever guess who they are).
Kinda.
Allegedly talking.
Circumstantially speaking.
(like, I already have a design for Cleric!Dottie that I was working on, but I want a completely original character for BG3).
