Good news everyone, the shark attack sign updates when people die to the sharks! It resets at the start of each round. I have not caught it changing, I might try to do that next time I play the map if people let me anyway.

Before realizing that HLVRAI was actually played in G-mod, I assumed it was a real Half-Life VR mod so I decided to look it up and turns out there is indeed a VR mod for the first Half-Life (there's also one for Half-Life 2). It's free on Steam so I decided to play it and just now beat it. Which I wasn't initially entirely sure I would do, I just wanted to check it out, but I was enjoying it so I kept going even through the jank.

Despite my enjoyment of it, it was the most nauseating VR experience I've ever played. I had to quit a couple game sessions early because of it.

It did do one thing I actually ended up quite liking though; it let me just walk around with the left stick. Which isn't the most comfortable way of moving but it's convenient when trying to only move a little bit and it helps a lot in combat since I don't have physically turn my head to move backwards.

And I got to touch the G-man and stick my finger in his mouth when he was talking. Which I also did to the scientists and Barneys. And whacking headcrabs out of the air with the crowbar as they jumped at me was divine. Also, with the teleport, getting off the ladders was much easier as was platforming and I got to cheese fall damage occasionally and straight up skipped part of the teleportation portion of the game, which was nice. So overall, I liked it a lot. I recommend it if you're into VR and aren't prone to VR motion sickness.

I have just come upon another reminder of the upcoming Futurama reboot (which I will most likely check out when it comes out ) and it has again reminded me of the fact that I didn't finish watching the original show. I just got so fed up with the bad parts of it. I kinda want to and feel like I should go back and finish it but... ugh, I still really don't want to slog through the bad stuff. So I might not bother.

But in light of that, does anyone know the titles/season and episode number of any especially good episodes, especially if they have a Frender vibe to them? I think I was maybe halfway through season 6 when I stopped watching so any recs from the point onward would appreciated.

Maybe this a hot take but after watching the new clip from the Game Awards, I feel the animation is expressive enough that they could've made Mario non-verbal or only semi-verbal (like he is in the games) and have it work perfectly fine even for a movie. (Not to say having such a protagonist is bad for a movie in anyway, just that I think it'd be harder to write for in a movie, especially one meant to be accessible to children and thus are gonna have a harder time picking up on subtle things, as opposed to in a video game.) And honestly, I think that would've been really cool. Too bad though, they just had to have Chris Pratt. :/

For the summer event, is the ukulele supposed to not make any sound? It feels like it should and would be the point of it, right? But if so, it's bugged/broken because it is utterly silent. Which was disappointing because I had a 'oh, I get to play a ukulele, that's cool' before trying it and having my dreams crushed.

Also, maybe this is a hot take, but Hatle Royale kinda sucks. Like, the PvP works in Vanessa's Curse cause all you gotta do is touch another player to get them. But hitting someone else with the umbrella when they're trying to hit you feels kinda clunky, which the occasional lag does the opposite of help. Maybe that's just me though.

These events are cool even if there's not much to them (and some of the quests suck, namely the ukulele one this time) but it does make me wish there was something more substantial. Like another DLC or a sequel would be real neat. Not sure what they would do with a sequel but more cute characters and platforming would be nice.

I have reached the bottom of my photos. I know there's probably some good ones that I missed but I have a lot of photos on my photo and once I got to where I was still taking photos of my art, scrolling all that way every time became a real chore. It was nice going through all those photos though.

Bad news, Cromdo and Beffica don't have new lines in reaction to each other's deaths. Which is kinda lame but the other new death lines were heartbreaking, meaning they were good and worth the effort to witness. Real sad times there. I'm glad the devs fixed that, mostly anyway.

I'm having another instance of watching someone stream Hollow Knight and it's misgendering city. He and his chat are even referring to the Radiance as he/him. It's driving me crazy! I understand why that's the case and that no one's doing it on purpose, they just don't know and aren't paying enough attention to those kind of things to realize. But still I want to correct them so bad but I don't want to be 'that guy' who only talks in chat to correct people. Ugh!

I started the Half-Life 2 VR mod and ooh, it's already better than the mod for the 1st. There's no teleport button but it makes up for it by having the walking be smoother. Even going up stairs isn't as bad, though I wished they'd set them to be ramps instead. The water's also much more comfortable to traverse, which was where the 1st was the most nauseating. And the guns are reloaded the same way they are in Alyx, which I really like, it's cool to be able to reload my own guns.

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to say was I got to pet Lamarr! It was amazing. I also pet Alyx (during which I noticed she's got a red streak in here hair that I hadn't noticed before) Barney, and Kleiner and a few random citizens but that's just normal VR shenanigans. And I got to caress a vortigaunt's face and give them a little kissy on the top of their head. I love VR, it's so cool.

I am super looking forward to when I get the gravity gun and seeing what that's like. And then of course Ravenholm is gonna be even cooler 'cause horror in VR is superior.

Apparently the reboot is out now! I thought it was still a ways away. I still haven't watched the last few episodes of before the reboot. I only have a few left and I was planning on watching them back to back but in part because of that I keep not getting around to it. Maybe now that there's more pressure to catch up, I finally will, or it'll just make me less likely to. But whatever, I'll watch the last few episodes and then the reboot eventually. Maybe during December whilst on my break after I finish my Xmas stuff.

I just got done watching the Mario movie and it's pretty good I liked it. Which is about what everyone else I've seen talking about it said too. Parts of it were rushed which kinda annoyed me but its for the sake of run time so let it go. And there weren't any additional Bowiugi moments that weren't in the trail but I didn't expect there to be too much more of that anyway for obvious reasons. It being canon isn't something I'd actually want anyway, as much as I love it (I'm still working on Bowser's Castle, I promise, just slowly T.T). And Chris Pratt's voice is till very 'meh' but I knew that going in so it's whatever.

I loved all the references to the games though, the sound effects, the music, and the environments. All that was a lot of fun and absolutely delightful. Bowser was great of course and bonus: he plays the piano and sings which is very 👀 to me as someone who writes Mario fic. Also, new ship unlocked: Donkey Kong and Mario. They had some nice enemies to lovers potential going on there with the ways they interacted. Am I'm going to do any content for them? Maybe. Super Mario isn't currently my main fandom but it's definitely one of my staple fandoms so I might write them in the future. I do intend to try to draw something though, no promises because art hard.

Wow, a good chunk of the Xmas event really is to just go onto Online Party and be as obnoxious as possible, huh? And I means this in a joking way by the way because all the boops and sticking spamming is kinda funny. Also, the sound Hat Kid makes when using the Santa Snatcher sticker is so good, just in general. Also, also, kudos to Gears For Breakfast on the Vanessa's Curse contract where you don't have to win as either team in order to get credit for their respective win count, that's really good because I'm really bad at that game mode.

When I read the update though, I was hoping for some more proper Death Wish Contracts, like, you know, a new challenge. So I'm a little disappointed but it's still fun.
