On Kouyou and Mori's relationship

Okay most of it comes from the Kouyou / Mori / Chuuya scene at the closing of the guild arc. First off: in chapter 37 we are made aware that Kouyou decided to stay at the agency of her own accord. Besides from the reasons she had to stay, it's just pretty cool how it's confirmed that Kouyou doesn't feel like having Mori's orders or will she has to answer to and just... Pretty much is free to do whatever she wants. She doesn't care about what Mori requires from her - Mori who most definitely would have wanted her back at the pm as soon as possible - and just acts of her own accord, which is something that even Chuuya doesn't do.
Following up, Kouyou and Mori also reflect over how she's perfectly capable of freely leave the pm, yet she chooses not to (btw her little smirk following Mori acknowledgement of her abilities is SO cute). Again, it goes to show how independent she is from Mori (pretty much putting her on his same level I guess?), being able to leave the pm facing no consequences or retaliation, and just in general how master of her fate she is. It's nice, it's RARE for a franchise where female characters are usually just thrown from one side to the other by external factors and rarely get to choose for themselves.
Then - and so far I strayed a bit from the initial matter, but this is most relevant to the point I was making in the original post - she says “Shut up. I'll sew your mouth shout.” There's A LOT in those lines because it plainly shows how she just... Doesn't fear Mori, doesn't fear calling him out on his creepy behavior, doesn't fear (playfully? ← arguable) menacing him. She's just so unbound and free and self-governed, and totally unbothered by Mori unlike any other character (except for, well, Elise, who's part of Mori herself). It's a joy to see.
Next, the volume 10 extra. The “that's why I told you”, “I'll punch you”, it all goes to reinforce the concept that Kouyou is perfectly unafraid of Mori and doesn't shy away from calling him out and scolding him even sternly. But it's especially interesting to compare her behavior with Chuuya's. Where Chuuya tries to find accomodations for Mori, Kouyou scolds him, and later even accuses Chuuya of being “spoiling him”; their approach is completely different, and as a consequence their relationships with Mori are diametrically opposite. Again, back to my initial point: even Chuuya, who is one of the most self-reliant characters of them all, knows he has to answer to Mori, and accordingly treats him with respect; Kouyou is perfectly unbothered and unafraid.
And even more examples: chapter 42, Kouyou openly arguing with Mori's decision, lacking that mentality that is shared between pm operatives that Mori's plans are infallible and there's no point in questioning them (just think about how sure, confident and even smug Chuuya was about Mori's plan during the Guild arc, chapter 22). Chapter 43, Kouyou spending “half a year's worth of founds” to attack a government van, which I can guess goes against what Mori wants for the pm (lol) and once again just shows how Kouyou... Freely bosses around and does whatever she wants, answering to no one.
With this I'm not saying Kouyou doesn't care about Mori. She DOES care about Mori, she just doesn't in a “subordinate is loyal to their superior” kind of way. She cares about Mori, the thing is that she does because she chooses to and not for any other constraint, which arguably makes her the person that is closer and most loyal to him?? Because she has no second means for being loyal to him, and just does that because she wants to, which makes her loyalty the truest, most authentic one. And Mori knows that, and that's why she deserves to be the next pm boss, and I know they (authors) will never make her but she deserves it and she's the pm boss of my heart end of conversation.
Headcanon time while we're at it, I like to think for Kouyou to address to Mori so informally and familiarly is a way to make up / compensate for the trauma she underwent with the previous boss. When Mori killed the previous boss, she swore she would have never lived in fear again, and even though she ultimately decided to stay in the darkness, it's now her choice; a choice she personally and freely makes despite being aware of potentially, realistically being able to leave at any moment. Addressing Mori as he was her equal is a way for Kouyou to remind to herself about how free and unbound she is.
About Mori and Kouyou, I like to think they had this siblings-like relationship since before Mori became boss I mean, they canonly go cherry blossom sighting together. I like to think a very small, subconscious part of Mori killed the previous boss because Mori held resentment towards him for hurting Kouyou- but that's definitely straying too far alcbdklzbdkskxbks. I like to think Kouyou wanted Kyouka in the pm because she genuinely believed that under hers and Mori's lead Kyouka could be happy, that the pm was the place that most would have welcomed Kyouka, welcomed what Kouyou believed to be her nature.

Medical School Student Mod | Sims 4
Requirements:

Have you ever wanted your Sims to go to medical school before entering the doctor career? Or maybe your Sim just wants to go to medical school for the hell of it! Well in my pursuit of adding more gameplay mods to my save for better storytelling, I created this medical school student career track! I made this career available for Teens-Adults.
Applying to Medical School
Even though the medical school track, is technically a joinable career, I still wanted to create the opportunity for your Sims to apply to medical school! Applying will take about 3-4 hours and will cost them §500.
Medical Institutions:
Your Sim will be randomly placed at one of the following medical institutions:
-The Landgraab School of Medicine
-University of Britchester School of Medicine
-Foxbury Institute of Medicine and Health Sciences
-Plumbob Center of Medicine
-Newcrest Center for Medicinal Sciences
-Komorebi Institute of Medicinal Studies
-University of Willow Creek, Goth School of Medicine
Again, their placement will be randomized. If you want your Sim to work at a specific medical institute, you can quit and rejoin the career until you get your desired one.
Pay:
Your Sims will be unpaid until they become an intern (Level 5). For the first four levels, it is up to you to decide how (or if) your Sims will make simoleons. I recommend the Unlimited Jobs mod by TURBODRIVER, which allows you to have multiple jobs at a time. You can check it out here if you like.
Career Track
This career track comes with 9 levels:
Preclinical Med Student I: (§0)
Starting your journey into the medical field, you're diving into basic sciences and learning the foundational concepts of medicine. It's a challenging start, but with hard work, you'll build the knowledge needed for your future career.
Preclinical Med Student II: (§0)
With the first year behind you, you're now diving deeper into complex medical subjects. Balancing intense coursework and initial patient interactions, you're beginning to see how your studies apply to real-world healthcare.
Preclinical Med Student III: (§0)
Transitioning from the classroom to clinical rotations, you're getting hands-on experience in various specialties. Your understanding of medicine is growing rapidly as you apply your knowledge to real patients under supervision.
Preclinical Med Student IV: (§0)
In the final phase of your medical school journey, you're solidifying your skills and preparing for the next step. As you complete your rotations and apply for residency programs, you're focused on becoming a competent and compassionate doctor.
Intern: (§10)
Welcome to the first year of residency! As an intern, you're now a doctor, responsible for patient care under the guidance of senior physicians. The hours are long, but each day brings invaluable learning experiences and growth.
Junior Resident: (§15)
With a year of internship behind you, you're now taking on more responsibilities. Your confidence is building as you make more independent decisions and start to specialize in a particular field of medicine.
Senior Resident:(§20)
Nearing the end of your residency, you're a seasoned doctor with a wealth of clinical experience. You're mentoring interns and junior residents while honing your expertise and preparing for the final stages of your training.
Chief Resident: (§25)
As the chief resident, you're a leader among your peers, coordinating the residency program and ensuring the smooth operation of the team. Your skills and leadership abilities are put to the test as you balance administrative duties with patient care.
Fellow: (§35)
Specializing further, you're now a fellow, focusing on a particular area of medicine. This stage is all about mastering your chosen field, conducting research, and becoming a true expert before transitioning to an attending physician role.
Hours:
The hours for this career track are LONG! Again, I wanted to add as much realism as I could. So, expect your Sim to be gone for practically the entire day! They most likely will come back home with a tense/dazed buff.
Skills and Objectives
The major skills your Sim will be focusing on in this career are Logic, Writing, Handiness, and Research & Debate. Your Sims objectives are essentially to progress these skills to the required levels.
Computer Interactions and Rabbitholes:
There is a separate in-game pie menu for Medical Students on computers. This comes with nine (9) new interactions and rabbithole activities for your Sims!
The time for each activity varies; but expect your Sim to spend HOURS doing most of them lol (for example, the Medical Conference may take 3-4 hours, and going to Clinical Rounds may take 5-6 hours. For rabbithole activities, your Sim will go to the computer first, before leaving. Also be ready to spend some simoleons on activities such as paying tuition, going to conferences, and textbooks (SEE BELOW)
Textbooks:
What is medical school without textbooks...and expensive ones too?! I added four (4) new textbooks. They total to about§500. They're also located under the Emotional category since they give your Sims a Focused buff, which can help them build their skills.
Lot Traits:
For those who want to take their gameplay up a notch, I created a Medical School Lot Trait. But because we don't have medical school lots in game, if you plan on building a medical school for your Sims, it will most likely have to be on a generic lot.
Buffs:
Several buffs come in game with the various interactions! Here is a quick snapshot of a few:
Trait & Conversation Topics:
Lastly, I also created a CAS trait for your Sims who are/ or want to become medical students. This trait comes with basic wants such as wanting to go to the library or researching something on Simpedia. The trait itself should be in the Lifestyle category.
Also, Sims with this trait will have the following conversation topics available to them:
Important:
Please make SURE that you have the XML Injector installed; and that you have script mods enabled. Also try not to separate package and script files or place script files more than 2 folders deep!
Known Problems/ Conflicts:
As of now, there are no reported conflicts or problems with this mod. Feel free to join the discord to let me know of any issues that you detect.

User Value / Engineering Skills
As a software engineer, I often find myself pondering about the balance between user value and software engineering skills. On one hand, we strive to build the best software possible, with the most efficient algorithms, and the most elegant code. On the other hand, we need to create software that meets the users' needs and provides value to them. It's a delicate balance, and one that often leads to controversial discussions among software engineers.
One argument I've heard is that software engineers should prioritize their engineering skills over user value. The idea behind this is that if you build the best software possible, users will naturally gravitate towards it. They will appreciate the effort that went into building it and recognize its superiority. The belief is that users are rational beings who will choose the best software regardless of the user experience.
However, I believe this argument is flawed. Users are not always rational beings, and they don't always choose the best software. There are many factors that influence their decision-making, including the user experience, price, marketing, and brand loyalty. Software engineers need to recognize this and prioritize user value over engineering skills.
At the end of the day, software is meant to serve users, not the other way around. We need to build software that meets their needs, solves their problems, and makes their lives easier. If we don't prioritize user value, we risk building software that no one wants to use.
One book that has helped shape my thinking on this topic is "Don't Make Me Think" by Steve Krug. In it, Krug emphasizes the importance of designing software with the user in mind. He argues that the best software is the one that requires the least amount of thinking and effort from the user. This book has helped me understand the importance of user-centered design and how it can lead to better software.
Another resource that has influenced my thinking is the podcast "Design Better" by InVision. The podcast features interviews with top designers and explores topics such as user experience design, design leadership, and design thinking. It has helped me gain a deeper understanding of how design can impact user value and how to create software that meets users' needs.
In conclusion, while engineering skills are important in software development, they should not come at the cost of user value. We need to prioritize building software that meets users' needs, solves their problems, and makes their lives easier. By doing so, we can create software that is not only elegant and efficient but also useful and valuable to users.
