camille deblanc is fr*nch so kira and diana make fun of her for it. but not when she's in earshot because she has a venomous demon tail

camille's venom isn't actually lethal, usually. kira and diana don't have a way of knowing this but the lethality of camille's venom basically depends on her emotion and intent. if she stings you by accident then the worst that'll happen is like, you'll be kinda sore for a day. like when you get a flu shot. but if she has murderous intent you'll die pretty much instantly. fortunately she doesn't want to kill people very often.

her demon tail/wings/horns are from being basically a mutated prasedus. she's a magical girl like kira and diana, but she doesn't have as much magic energy, and she's stuck in her magical girl form. fortunately she looked more human when she was born (aside from her hands and feet. the most noticeable aspect of a prasedus is they have no pinky fingers or pinky toes) but once her visible prasedus attributes started growing in her parents were like. Euh ? Sacrebleu ! (i don't think french people actually say sacrebleu.) they tried asking doctors about it but eventually camille got so much anxiety over being a medical study that she ran away from home.

she met a human named ashwini while living on her own. (i haven't currently developed her much. side note i JUST realized it's pronounced ush-wee-nee? for some reason i thought the W was pronounced like a V. i'm so sorry girls named ashwini. anyway ashwini is an independent scientist) ashwini had been traveling abroad in europe, and for my own story purposes i'm making it easier for camille to leave france and go to live in rhode island. (my stories usually take place either in rhode island or nearby it cuz. yknow.) camille trusted ashwini because she didn't treat her like an anomaly, and just wanted to offer camille a safe place to survive, and maybe also work on projects to help make camille's life easier. over a decade or so they grew close and started dating and eventually got engaged.

ashwini worked on experiments to try to alleviate negative emotions. she made experimental medicines and tested them on herself, because she didn't want to risk hurting anyone with them. she made one medicine to attempt to simulate a utopian experience, her theory being that it'd help enlighten people into being better and lessen all the evils in the world. sorry if that doesn't make sense it was a bad idea. now she's in a coma. due to an overdose of this medicine and an excess of serotonin and dopamine, she is conscious on some level sometimes, but is trapped in severe hallucinations and can barely move. fortunately camille is able to take care of her and make sure she doesn't become mobile enough to hurt herself.

camille's mindset following this was that the search for a utopia is useless and will only harm people, her point of view being that evil has to exist, because without it it'll give way to even worse evils. so once she learned about kira and diana she's basically existed to oppose them. kira and diana are high schoolers so they don't understand this, they think camille is just an evil villain living in an abandoned laboratory for the sake of being an evil villain living in an abandoned laboratory. camille doesn't want to hurt them though, she just wants them to stop being so foolishly optimistic. (they're not though. neither side really understands the other.)

despite camille valuing her pessimism she still believes that ashwini will recover.

Medal of Honor Monday: Jefferson DeBlanc

At about this time in 1921, a hero is born. Jefferson DeBlanc was just a young boy when he discovered a love for aviation. An airplane had made an emergency landing in a pasture close to his home in Louisiana, and the stranded pilot let Jefferson climb into the cockpit of his plane.

Naturally, DeBlanc was hooked. Of course, no one could know what was coming: DeBlanc would not only learn to fly, but he would also go on to become a hero in the skies of the Pacific!

Then-First Lt. DeBlanc’s heroism came on January 31, 1943, as he led a group of fighter planes on a mission near Kolombangara in the Solomon Islands. Eight fighters from Marine Fighting Squadron 112 were to escort dive bombers and torpedo planes towards their Japanese targets.
