No scene in horror will compare to the elevator scene from The Cabin In The Woods, or honestly the final 3rd act of that movie, but let's focus on the elevator scene for now.

It's the fact you get to see four of these monster so up close and personally, getting to see the small details of them.

The Werewolf jumpscare starts the rising tension. The Wraith, Hell Lord, and Sugarplum Fairy all look cool as fuck. These monsters are hungry and the only thing separating them from Dana and Marty is some really powerful glass.

Than there's when Dana connects the dots with the Hell Lord. That the very monsters that could've killed them could have been selected by any one of them, and these horrible fates were inevitable. It breaks her, and when she's screaming, slamming against the glass it leads us to one of the best shots in this whole film.

All you can see are monsters, you can hear them, and they just keep coming. More elevators shift and move around revealing dozens more horrors. Through the music and the sounds you can hear from the monsters, you can still hear Dana screaming, and it's such a small element, but it truly adds to the moment.

The entire moment is just so climatic and cinematic, it's one of the best moments in a horror film, and I'll never stop talking about it, and will praise this film until my final breathe.
