Ban glared down at the kid, smacking him upside the head. Straw yelped, turning to the fox,

"Hey! What was that-"Fox,

"Cuz you're wrong, Cap'n. You ain't no monster, never were."

"But demons are-"

Another smack upside the head,

"Everytime you call yourself a monster I'm smacking you."

Straw glared at him a moment before crossing his arms with a pout,

"Even so... it's a problem, isn't it?"

"I mean..." King coughed, "Being a demon does change things but... I don't think it's enough to call you a monster. If anything it just explains a few things form... before."

"Like what?" Straw looked at him curiously, head tilted to the side.

"Well, you were always pretty lazy." King began, "Always slept in whenever you could, even though you'd be the first to jump into action whenever a fight came along. Being a demon would mean you're naturally nocturnal so you were probably really tired."

"Plus you have some really weird magic and can handle injuries thag would kill a normal human. If your not human, then thay explains it." Diane chimed in, "By all rights that poison should have killed you back in Dalmally but maybe being a demon gives you immunity to poison or something!"

"Plus, well, you're the one who gave me this." Ban pointed at the scar on his neck, "I was bein' stupid and pissed ya off, tried to steal your sword. I'm known as Undead Ban because no injury can mark me and I'm immortal, yet you were able to leave this scar on me."

"I did that??" Straw was shocked. He was more of a people pleaser than someone who seeks out confrontation. Just what kind of person did he use to be?

Ban couldn't help but laugh. "Yup! I think that was the first time I've ever seen you use that kind magic. It was interesting to learn something new about you since you were usually pretty secretive when it came to yourself."

Straw frowned. "...sorry about the scar."

"Nah, 's fine, it was my own fault. You warned me 'n everything, too."

"Woah, Ban admitting his own fault? I guess miracles do exist", King teased the Fox Sin only to have his entire face grabbed by him. (Ban has large hands and King is tiny)

Feast of St Conan, monk of Iona. He is supposed to have been tutor to the children of "King Eugenius IV" (who doesn't seem to have existed). Kilconan in Perthshire is named after him and he has a holy well at Dalmally, Argyll. Possibly a duplicate of the saint of the same name who was Bishop of Man in the C7.
