on a different but related note - annabeth and jason should openly hate each other too. their fatal flaws (hubris and indecisiveness) are in direct opposition to each other. annabeth is convinced she’s never wrong and jason is worried he’s never right - he can’t stand her impulsivity, she cannot understand his hesitation - they would argue CONSTANTLY. jason looks at annabeth and thinks ‘how did she ever survive this long?’ And annabeth looks at jason like ‘who is this fucking nerd?’
