Each day, I take a look at my Weekly list in my Hobonichi Weeks, and I choose which tasks to focus on for the day. I prioritize them by using my Daily Priorities Notepad to figure out my top three priorities, then grouping all other tasks into “Urgent” and “Not Urgent.”
When I start tackling tasks, I choose three things to focus on and write them in my Bullet Journal. When those three tasks are complete, I choose three more from my Daily Priorities lists, then tackle those three tasks, and so on and so forth. Listing out only three things at a time helps me to not be overwhelmed by the amount of tasks I want to get done.
Prioritizing my list first, helps me to know which tasks to tackle first. This system has been such a relief on my brain and has been helping me to focus better.

[19.09.2023] ✧ first week back in class <3 ; Day 1/100 days of writing
It has been quite a while since I have written, but I am feeling really inspired for this upcoming semester. I have begun a regular routine, and I wanted to share some of my favorite study/self-care musts with some of you who may also be starting/have already started.
• stoic.
This app has a bunch of different features. It starts with a check-in, which can be followed by daily reflections, journaling (from daily journaling to dream journaling, book reviews, food review, monthly reflection, morning prep, therapy progress, so on and so many more!!), meditations or breathing exercises, and other activities. They curate a section based on your day, which is based on your daily priorities (which you choose during your check-in). Then they have a bunch of inspiring quotes and features to follow your progress. Really love love love this app.
• forest
I am sure you all know this app, it probably doesn’t need much explanation. XD the Forest app allows you to set a study timer by planting a tree, with the option of blocking phone use. That means, if you use your phone after you’ve planted a tree, you will kill the tree. It is a great way of staying focused on your work and avoiding distractions, especially coming from the phone (I know my phone has become a growing problem as I’ve gotten older and older. The best part is that you can actually plant a tree via this app depending on how many points you have earned studying!

I use them all - from the project planners to weekly planners to just calendar prints. I love them so much, I hang them on my wall and they help me stay organized so that my brain isn’t just a jumble of rogue Tupperware bins and lids!!
• flexcil
This is an app that I use on my iPad to annotate PDFs! It is great for digital readings and has allowed me to dramatically reduce how much I need to print (since I am a very visual person and need to highlight and write a bunch on things, this was the best alternative to hard copy). This is the best one I have tried!
• backpack essentials
For me, that is: a notebook that I love that I feel comfortable continuing class notes in, my iPad (I have started keeping my laptop at home for bigger works and work from home since it gets so heavy and sometimes can be distracting in class, so instead i take my iPad and i have a small bluetooth keyboard to go with it), my planner so that I can look back to it throughout the day, a folder for class documents or printed readings, a water bottle for hydration, lunch and a snack (+ a sweet one in case I get low blood sugar), and medication.
*If you’re someone who suffers from anxiety or panic disorder like I do, then I would definitely recommend having an inhaler and needed medication (+peptol or tums), a fan, something like a fidget or comfort item to hold in your hands, water, a comfy sweater or scarf, a hair scrunchy, and a snack with you at all times!

If your anxiety is mostly caused by getting to the end of your routines and feeling like there's more you forgot to do then building a control journal is the way to go. There are as many ways to build them as there are people so personalize it. One tip I will give is that it's often better to write the date you did something last rather than just checking something off. It doesn't have to be based on the FlyLady system itself, but it's a central part of it so people who do FlyLady have lots of ideas on it that you can benefit from as you adapt it.
Quick word of warning to anyone else who is a Rebel tendency like me - a control journal can feel too, well, controlling. So I don't really use one at the moment. Feels too bossy. I just record what I did the last time I cleaned an area and record when I cleaned it last. I look up cleaning lists as I want to if it's outside of my daily routines or I want to go further than I did last time. Gives me freedom of choice.
You feel like you should be doing more...
If you feel like you should be doing more then there are two main options, either find a home "bible" that tells you what to do or decide on a certain standard and reverse engineering it.
If you go the "bible" route, I unfortunately don't have a lot of recommendations. Just about everyone I mentioned on the first post posts their cleaning lists or makes the available pretty cheap. You can always choose one and decide that's your plan of action. You can create an "other" category and add tasks to it as you see they need doing so they all stay with the "bible".
You can also make one by going around your house and listing every task that needs done and how often in every room of your home to keep it clean to the level of your liking. This video from How to ADHD has a little bit on how to make a list like that.
Always work according to priority so that you can rest easy knowing the most important tasks are done. I don't actually recommend doing this to most people because it can take any joy out of cleaning but if the anxiety is real bad, it's best to do it this way.
Lastly, I really recommend more people set time budgets for their home management. How much time per week is a clean home worth to you? That's now your cap. Don't go over it - because it won't be worth it. I'm stay at home and do some freelance work as I'm able and my absolute max is 20 hours of homemaking a week. I including cooking in that and I usually don't hit it. When I was working/studying full time, I capped it at 10 hours a week with a monthlyish cleaning day on a free Saturday to do some of the more time consuming chores that I tended to skip.
Your anxiety is chronic and cleaning is just your anxiety magnet...
A lot of medical conditions, especially in AFAB people or folks running on estrogen, have anxiety as a primary or secondary symptom. I am this way. Only my health is my anxiety magnet, not cleaning, but I've met plenty of others for whom cleaning is their anxiety magnet.
Getting a handle on the anxiety begins with understanding that anxiety is just always going to be present to some degree and it's unpleasant in a way that's not dissimilar to chronic pain. It's a symptom. It just is. You don't need to do anything about it directly. The only thing you can do is manage your behavior and not act out of it.
Check out "adaptive cleaning" from Sarah McGlory. She has chronic conditions that make it hard to clean so she has lists according to her level of energy/ability. She's got lots of great videos and some printable available on her website.
If you're cleaning and notice your anxiety is getting worse and worse - you owe it to yourself to downshift to a lower level list. Take care of yourself.

ETA: There’s a chance you’re trying to outclean a bad layout in your home that’s making it feel messier or more unpleasant than it is so I would start with Cliff Tan/Dear Modern that I listed in the main post if that is the case. 
ETA2: When my anxiety is bad I rely pretty heavily on CBD oil and my thinking putty. Sometimes cleaning will make that anxiety worse and I have to stop, take a gummy, and wait the anxiety out with some putty in my hands. When I’m calm then I can try again.

Description:
2020 is a year that changed all Kiwi lives. Covid 19 hit and Aotearoa was thrown into lockdown, the daily number of cases, weeks locked in our bubbles, mounting redundancies, or the unknown number of families that would lose their livelihoods weighed heavily. So we decided together, our team of 130 was in a unique position to help the team of 5 million. There was no playbook and we had no idea what to expect. When lockdown forced New Zealand to a grinding halt, no one felt the economic burden more than our SMEs. Instinctively, we knew SMEs badly needed local support, and this was substantiated through research. Many had made huge personal and financial sacrifices to establish and maintain their successful brands. However, few were prepared for the impact of COVID-19 and many had to close, impacting their incomes, savings, assets, relationships and mental health. Small businesses – the backbone of our economy – were in turmoil and needed help. As an independent local business, we were in a unique position to do the right thing and offer our assistance. We took the initiative and developed a brief, got together and worked a plan late into the night. Working with local businesses, we identified their key needs and how we could help. With a sense of urgency and mission, we crafted a national campaign and usable resources, all in 12 days whilst under level 4 lockdown ourselves. We crafted a campaign in two parts:
One – A national mass-media campaign to persuade Kiwis to support their local businesses Two – Free resources for businesses, to help them through the hard times
Support Local, Shop Local became the national rallying call around which we built our messaging. We crafted a visually simple campaign, executed in stark black and white (to save on costs for all involved) and brought to life with friendly, charming illustrations and writing. To shift consumer behaviour in such unprecedented times, we needed total coverage. Our media partners around the nation heard the call – Television, newspapers, video on demand, out of home, social media, digital and many more… totalling over $1million, all for free. The movement was underway. We mobilised teams around the country to create a suite of tools for SMEs to access and use. This became a central website that hosted interviews and advice with key business leaders, information and downloadable toolkits – all free of charge. Aligned to the national campaign, the toolkits featured printable posters and stickers, plus social media templates, digital assets and more – all encouraging people to support local, shop local. The campaign went nation-wide, Kiwis heard the call and rallied around their local businesses. 38,500 businesses accessed the website, and using our resources, 69% reported an earnings increase averaging over $5000 each. 97% of businesses reported the toolkits to be useful. And whilst these numbers are important, our priority is always with the people of Aotearoa and their livelihoods.

Reflection:
This is a valued approach that established itself at the appropriate time mobilising a movement of support across the country. It would be an easily adaptable method for a large sum of local business in need of support to become apart of and raise awareness in communities nationwide.

I did not 'become my user' for the user persona because I was concerned about already injecting too much of my tastes into the final project.
I did not do customer journey mapping because the creative artefact was not created with the intent to be sold. It does have a user 'market', but the user journey map felt sufficient in exploring both the user persona and potential design ideas for the planner.
I did not mention that I would use design method modes from the IDEO Field Guide within my notes.
Physical prototyping was not done as the user feedback and testing was all conducted online, so creating the prototype digitally felt more relevant to the testing and iteration feedback and ultimately influenced the creative artefact to be more digital-based than printable-based.
The creative artefact is a daily planner, but to-do lists and weekly planners were also explored. Weekly planners were especially explored due to the outcomes achieved in the user-journey map, but initial prototyping of both daily and weekly planners revealed that daily planners allowed more flexibility in customisation and greater refinement in task planning.
