Also just something, Paimon isn't that scared of the archons, even someone like Baal. But she's scared of and extremely polite to Diluc.

I wonder why is that? Compared to God's she only cowers when riches and food are involved, but with Diluc he just says things in a stern voice and she's already "On it M-master Diluc!" i think she even confides in the traveller that she's scared of him but not the reason why.

I don't remember if she's that scared of someone like Ayato tho, i don't even think she's that scared of Childe, she's scared of the Harbinger Tartaglia but not Ajax

I admit, I'm very curious what "genshin" is!

I told myself, "write a new excerpt for each ask you get, that's as good a way to make progress as any" and I am full of regret

<3! I admit I only have like...1.5 Genshin ideas, thus the generic name for the doc, and that last event joshes dadsleif pretty soundly to my lament. So the sole survivor is a zhongven thing, because I find them equally compelling and hilarious. I don't have a lot of shipping loyalties in Genshin but I do love their contrast. And pettiness. And the idea of them not actually being in a relationship so much as going on increasingly disastrous impulse dates every few centuries and learning nothing.

If Kaeyas backstory didn't outright say his father left him to be a spy for  khaenri'ah, I would seriously be theorizing that Dainsleif was his bio dad. If all we knew about Kaeya was that his father left him and they were from khaenri'ah, that is where my train of thought would go. Especially since in the quest where we first meet Dain, we joke that he may know Kaeya. 

So au where Dain is Kaeyas bio father, and he left him at Dawn Winery, not to be a spy, but to give him a chance at a better life. Wandering the world and hunting the abyss is a dangerous life, and it already took Kaeyas mother, so Dainsleif made the choice to leave his son in Mondstadt. It was a fairly peaceful place, and he had been watching the winery for awhile. He knew Crepus was a good man with a son Kaeyas age, he would make sure the boy was taken care of. And so Dainsleif left him that faithful day, convinced his son would be far better off this way.

Diluc and Fischl... She's always included in the Diluc's unofficial children gang but haven't seen much of their Dynamic explained much... so Diluc being able to perfectly understand her and reply in the exact same way because fancy noble word stuff y'know, and he would just let her be Fischl around him, not just Amy. Also birds, absolutely birds. They bond over making birds with their visions! He teaches her and Barbs how to make things with their visions! it's great, Dadluc is great

Dain, who never thought he'd had a kid himself, suddenly has 4 grandkids, feels his age.

Bennett's luck defiantly a reason that he gods get more added to his shit list. And he would defiantly love all his grandkids.

As for Barbara, I think she gets discluded a lot because she's still got Jean, and as far as we know, at least her dad is still alive. Thought Diluc would beat out Seamus Pegg in the dad category any day of the week. Like, I get divorce but forcing your kids apart like that, what the fuck.

Anyway I love Diluc inviting Barbara out, and the next thing she knows, he's pulling out a violin, and he's like

"You wanted to practice singing? Well, we can practice together."

"I-I thought you didn't like my singing!"

"What. Who said that? I think your singing is lovely."

Now for Fischl, she and Diluc, in my opinion, might be the closest next to Diluc and Razor. Mostly because I think they both have awkward eccentricities that others don't understand. Also birds. they can talk about birds with each other for days. It's great

Yo! Have any ides about Dain raising Diluc? Because I just see that as wholesome, cute and hilarious. Like Dainsleif trying to figure out how to take care of a literal baby, fight abyss monsters, travel around Teyvat for clues and trying to stop the abyss order, all at the same time

I'm just imagining Dain with a book on parenting with a toddler Diluc trying to wander off and Dain keeps switching between reading ad pulling Diluc back.

Also, Dain with one of the toddle carriers and a little Diluc strapped to him.

I know it just came out but I feel it would have a very spy x family vibe. Like Dain would honestly be doing his absolute best for his newfound son and work hard to make sure they are happy and healthy well also trying to stop the abyss order and traveling.

He might start to feel bad about not being able to give Diluc a stable upbringing. But he can leave the abyss alone, especially not as they really start to move and grow. I think he'd be really torn. Because he couldn't give Diluc up, not after the first time Diluc calls him Dad. I can also see Dain teaching Diluc old Khaenri'ah traditions.

Eyooo that's a pretty cool idea!!! Diluc and Dainsleif knowing eachother would cement Dadsleif and Sonluc more because well, leylines

Diluc would obvs already know Drain and Abt his mission while Dain just gets little "clues" (which are more like praises tbh) from the leylines like "The precious one" "Our dearest reader" "The Favored child" but they don't rlly day much tbh

If the Leylines were an actual physical person in this Au then they would be cryptic as hell but also gush Abt their little flower bud(Diluc) and probably show you his baby pictures, they would get along with Dadsleif and AsMomday

Also, do you think it would work that the Leylines have a consciousness or atleast something that resembles one? Like if you got all that info ur bound to be sentient at some point right??

And since the Sustainer probably had a big part in kheanriah's destruction Dainsleif has probably seen her at some point during his life(at the destruction most likey) so imagine his surprise when Diluc shows him the pictures and portraits of his mother back at mond, she's just the sustainer with snazzy new clothes, blue eyes, and her hair up in a ponytail
