summary. heeseung’s one and only goal is to catch you. so why does he fail… again?

au. idk how to call it? cyberpunk? sci-fi? villain/thief!y/n x policeman/guard!heeseung (the way i wanted to write it the other way around but seeing those pics made me think “hee mean cop agenda brrr” so yeah)

warnings. violence, guns, swearing

a/n. not gonna lie this fic is inspired by the usage of earlier mentioned song in the ‘puss in boots’ (the scene where they dance battled help i loved it as a kid), cyberpunk2077 and my one and only zanna banana’s ( @slytherinshua ) fic “fight for freedom” ALSO with heeseung in similar setting (recommend it go read it go go go)!! i actually wanted to write something like this in a while after reading yours… but i wouldn’t be myself if i didn’t turn one of the sides evil teehee!

the buzzing of the a/c was the only sound in the room, people too scared to say anything. heeseung was sitting at his desk, chin resting on his intertwined fingers as his brown, cold eyes pierced through poor niki’s soul.

“what do you mean you lost her?” heeseung asked slowly, annoyed. people knew niki is one of his favourites, which is why he was still calm (in a way). otherwise, the desks would have been flipped upside down by now.

“s-she took the engine and- and hopped on a motorcycle. the streets were too narrow to fit with our cars and-“ niki stuttered, shaking hands hidden behind his back.

“i’ll vouch for him, i was the driver” jay stepped out, causing a look from everyone “it seems she already planned this”

“so did we, jeongseong” heeseung grunted, turning around on his chair and letting out a deep sigh. his eyes meeting the pin board with all the available data and information, back up plans and all the possible escape routes.

and yet… you still managed to escape. with the engine worth ten times more than his paycheck that was supposed to be arriving to the client… in ten minutes.

“hee– sir, she mentioned something” jay spoke out quietly. sunghoon sent him a warning look but he shrugged it off. heeseung turned around, his interest piqued. with a gesture of his hand, he signalled jay to continue speaking “she said something about a rooftop”

the cold light from the led lamps shone on heeseung’s frowning face. his team watched him grab the navy jacket that was hung on his chair before he stormed out in a rush.

“prepare a good excuse why the engine haven’t arrived or you’re all getting extra paper work!” he yelled out before leaving the police station.

hopping on his motorcycle and putting on the helmet, he didn’t hesitate to break some of the speeding rules. it’s not like people in the city don’t do the same.

his grip on the throttle tightened when his mind started wandering around you. y/n. the pain in his ass.

he knew that this city is full of thieves, bandits and criminals; it was no surprise. you… you were top of the top when it came to stealing. he didn’t know that yet, but the first case in his career was a stolen engene. he was later to find out that it was you.

years passed by when he got promoted, one of the cases when he finally caught you. it was an emotional night, he almost died but it was a price of catching you, his nemesis. to you it was no surprise heeseung was the policeman who was always on your back but he… he was bewildered. the thief he was trying to catch for the past two years was you… y/n? his high school crush?

with your capture came another promotion, etc etc. he put his soul in interviewing you but nothing. you didn’t spill nothing and in fact, you only flirted with him. his younger self was freaking out but the heeseung he was now just wanted to know if you’re working alone.

and if you were… he was impressed. maybe he shouldn’t, but after your escape from the prison… he certainly was. well, mostly pissed. but heeseung is an ambitious man and promised himself to catch you again.

which wasn’t that easy, considering you disappeared into thin air… until today.

they, protocol team, was typed as a security transfer of an engine. the thing in this city was that all the rich people wanted to have the best cars. which meant high quality parts, including engines. the market was skyrocketing, drawing attention to thieves and punks. so when an engine was custom made for the mayor, it was their job to transfer it safely. because such hi-tech engine, in wrong hands, could lead to the grow of, well… advanced technology in gangs. which he definitely didn’t want to happen.

and the engine wasn’t usual either. it’s not the engine, the heavy part that’s in every car. it’s called engine because a small part, sometimes slightly bigger than a thumb, controls the whole car. with all the programs installed on it, the owner could put on bulletproof windows, break the speed limit and who knows what else.

arriving at the building, he took off the helmet and left it. there was a possibility it’ll be stolen but currently, he didn’t care.

jumping over the steps – and thanks to the hours spent at the gym – he was at the very top of the building in no time.

the city, even in the middle of the night, was alive and noisy. neon lights blinking in various colors, chatter of people and loud music coming from the clubs.

he looked around the roof, a pang hitting his heart. the roof where he confessed to you. now he’d take you to the restaurant, candles and wine… but he was just a teenager with no money back then. now–

“hi there, mr policeman”

his gaze snapped back, realising you somehow kept hidden.

“give it back” he grunted, approaching you.

“heeseung, why so tense?” you hummed, swiftly stepping back but careful enough to approach the edge of the building.

“because you piss me off and make my life literal hell” heeseung hissed, checking if he brought his gun. he did.

“that’s so sweet of you. give me one reason why i even should think about giving you the engine back?” you tilted your head with a playful smile.

him and you both knew you were right. there was literally nothing he could offer you, especially as the number one priority on their haunting list.

“well…” he started, realising you’re fidgeting the engine in your hands. the neon wires lit up a bit due to the warmth of your hand.

“well?” you teased, the cyber parts of your right palm reflecting the shine.

“name it, then. why’d you get me here in the first place?” he scoffed, crossing his arms and scanning your figure.

the cyber parts transplantation wasn’t illegal… well, those that were destined for illegal things were, at least. for example, last time you were at the police station and they did a body scan, it showed them you have all the tools needed to unlock a lock just in your pointer finger. the middle finger was a lighter… and so on. and it was only two years ago. it frightened him to think what other modifications you had made in the mean time.

“well… i was bored you see. i really like you heeseung. and our little play dates where you try to catch me and all” you clicked your tongue “you were such a cutie patootie in high school… maybe if the things didn’t turn out as they did, we’d be together? who knows?”

“y/n… it’s not to late. if you change, i can help you. i really can” heeseung said, voice stern.

“i think… it’s my nature, heeseung” you scoffed, letting a deep breath “maybe one day. will you wait for me?”

he poked his cheek with his tongue. damn his stupid heart and his stupid feelings for you.

“i will” he breathed out. you halted, eyes piercing him curiously.

“that’s… a relief. but for now–“ you fixed your hair “don’t try to catch me, i’m living at the edge of the law”

“what?” he asked, eyes widening.

“you look handsome today, mr policeman” you smiled, satisfaction sinking in. you slowly passed him by, patting his arm “see you at another date, hm? what was that you were thinking earlier…? restaurant, candles…? sounds like a plan to me”

“w-what?” heeseung stuttered and turned around, looking as you walked away. he was completely frozen.

“see you later, heeseungie!” you called, throwing the engine up and catching it mid air.

heeseung watched you calmly walk away, with the thing he was supposed to obtain. and his heart. he knew you’ll be back and yet, he felt at ease letting you go. well, run away from him. again.

So I just finished Edgerunners, I mean I could tell it was gonna end badly (as in it is sad not badly made) from the Easter egg in the game and the endings we get there. I'll admit I didnt find it easy to binge watch but I've finally watched it and love the aesthetics of some of the characters so maybe I'll do more. I inspired the jacket more on the in game version, with the labels and everything. Had to place the sleeve labels on different place and take some creative liberties but mostly it's as accurate as I could get it. I didn't remove the normal spec or shadow.

Jacket is a recolour of @darte77 's Cyberpunk Jacket. You need the MESH (only need Darte77_m_Top22aHQ). Included a version with light emission and without. It was my first time doing this and I couldn't get it to flash slowly so if it bothers you get the normal version :) I know some areas could be better but I did my best with my limited CC creating knowledge.

Pants also my recolour of the same creator as the jacket, you need the MESH also. (Darte77_04pantsHQ.package)

Shoes are just a recolour of base game sneakers.

I updated the hair! I found this archived version of his hair as the original creator site was deleted.

"Cyberware" was "painted" by me and random Sandevistan image tattoo included. Again, I did my best 😅I know it's all a bit meh and someone else could probably do it better but the cyberpunk sims community is way to niche and past trend. I copied the pattern from some Cyberpunk2077 cc images, not the anime, and I made up some of the geometry because it was a nightmare 😂 It is in the upper back tattoo category.

Necklace is this by @gorillax3-cc though I can't find the one necklace version so maybe it's included?

Eyes are these by @Pixelore No uploading behind paywalls, including in sim downloads especially behind paywalls, reuploading (if there's something wrong with the link lemme know), claiming as yours or making this inaccessible in any way. whats a popular video game you cant stand?

Oh boy! I could take this in multiple directions. You see, I’m kind of a contrarian who often dislikes popular things by default even if I have no real reason for it. In terms of popular like in general that’s really easy to say games that are both popular with large gamer audiences AND I can easily morally condemn, like CoD, cyberpunk2077, fnaf, starfield, etc.

But that’s not hard or particularly interesting to say if you have any sort of conscience. I personally hate games with public voice chats and I don’t care for shooters especially tactical shooters, so I can also easily say that I can’t stand CSGO, Valorant, Siege (does that even count as popular anymore lmao), and also games like Tarkov.

But if you want to really dig deep for popular games I can’t stand for just petty contrarian reasons? I would probably say baldurs gate 3. I haven’t played it and would probably love it if I did, but everyone talking about it nonstop made it annoy me, and then none of the characters I saw people post about were remotely interesting to me, and then I found out it was based on dnd 5e, and then I also heard that it’s yet another game that lets you pick genitals separate from gender but doesn’t actually have any trans characters in it*. Really I just heard a dozen little things that rubbed me the wrong way and because I’m a petty contrarian at heart I decided I don’t like it

*this could be false I haven’t played it, but none of the main characters are trans so I’m still justified in being annoyed by this.

Like many others, I've been investing a great amount of time into Cyberpunk2077. Also, like many others, I find myself hopelessly smitten of our favorite edgy rockboy (and, by proxy, the musician industry.) I'm a musician, what else did you expect?

Enduring a particularly awful series of grievances, I am attempting to try making more art. If nothing else, to help me cope and heal. Unfortunately I am also one of those writers that despite fairly positive (thank you t-t) feedback, I hesitate. Trying to change that. SO here's a new blog for me to post my works and partake in activity weeks.

My first major fanfiction in some time was born of a simple yet fun idea: AU where Johnny gets a body of his own and he and V do their own things (and yet still have this weird mirroring quirk that they do that both of them seem genuinely unaware of somehow) meets a musician-songwriter from the country music side of the industry. She's a darling for the camera, she plays the part. That's how she's survived in the industry. Unfortunately her manager, who 'discovered' her, a nobody nomad in the badlands that had a knack for sweet yet sassy lyrics and campfire rhythm, and offered her a lucrative opportunity to perform her music and make an income to support herself and those important to her. When her relationship with her manager begins to turn poorly, what is one anti-corpo, super softie at heart to do when he learns of the danger she's in if she goes against the label's wishes?

Even if it's just for fun, it'd be cool to know if there would be interest in a fem!icon!OC x AU Johnny Silverhand with a body (male v) that more explores the capitalist consumerism of the Night City music industry and the politics within...

1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?

oh yeah, the daydreaming stage can last anywhere from a couple days to weeks. i like to get a general idea of the entire thing, but figure out exactly how i want key scenes to go before i even write anything.

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

nothing i have ever written has happened in order. i've tried, and that is the easiest way for me to get stuck. i write what i have the inspiration for and come back to whatever's giving me trouble. this is also helpful because sometimes it helps me get into the writing mindset if i have something to go through and edit first. like for example right now, the status of the stargyle shotgunning fic i'm writing is: the last part is on the second draft, i'm almost done with the first draft of the beginning, the middle exists only in my brain. is this the best most efficient way? absolutely not. but it's the only way i can hope to get anything done lmao

18. Do you enjoy research? Which fic of yours required the most research?

i wouldn't say i enjoy it unless it's about a subject i've hyperfixated on. and for the second part of this question, it's hard to say. i google things constantly when i'm writing, so there's no way to pinpoint just one. so if we say a simple google search doesn't count, then it'd probably be my cyberpunk2077 kerry/v rockstar au fic, for which i did a great deal of looking into the different modifications on instruments (guitars specifically 'cause i don't know shit about 'em. i just make bass noises sometimes) used in different genres to make them sound the way they do. almost none of it ended up being included in the fic but i learned a lot of interesting stuff that i promptly forgot most of (for example, i learned the guitarist of one of my favorite bands puts bass strings on his baritone guitar which. makes SO much sense that shit is heavy and disgusting and beautiful)

🃏 here, to answer your question (if spiders are my favorite animals)

I would actually say no (surprisingly), I would actually say I have a minor fear of them. However I am delighted to talk about them. Not thrilled when seeing one in my place of residence.

I do just have general knowledge and some from when I was a child. Knowledge just sticks with me at times. (i have this memory that we were doing a reading and it had facts about trap-door spiders also wolf spiders.)

I also had a small Spider-Man phase when people where making spider sonas. So I did (what might be called) research about spiders. I wanted to based my on an actual spider rather a generic one. (I picked an orb weaver.)

I can't say I have a favorite animal, but my top 3 would definitely be 1] cats (silly creatures :3 ), 2] borzoi (whenever i had laid my eyes upon its impossible noodlyness i was bewitched), 3] fish (just in general),

(beetles make a close 3)

I get that about spiders, they can be quite terrifying little creatures. I remember I had a book on exotic animals when I was a kid, I was obsessed with the snakes and spiders in it. It was so weird to me how deadly they could be when they were so small.

That's really cool that you had a spider-sona! Back around when Spider-Man across the spider verse came out, I ended up with a small obsession as well. I made a spidersona too, though at the time my Cyberpunk2077 hyperfixation outmatched the Spider-Man one, so I ended up fusing the two and making a spidersona that came from the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.

Cats are so cute and very silly!! They're definitely up there in my favourite animals as well, I have a cat too!! And fish in general are definitely cool too, generally I'm super fascinated by anything that lives in the sea, but I have such a fear of actually going there myself, I just like observing from a distance :))

Hmm what my approach should be for this? I don't drive, because after my first driving lesson i realized it'd be a safety hazard for everyone involved. I can't focus properly for the life of me.. But as a pessanger i'd say anything that you can sing along to. Something fun. Like Hypa hypa or We got the moves by Electric Callboy or something.

Ohh oh oooh or like Masked intruder by Crime Spree !! That's a fun one for sure. Also the radio station music from cyberpunk2077 ? 💋👌

But maybe for me more akin to driving would be songs to take long walks to or for long trainrides? That actually fully dependent on my mood, the weather, what time of day it happens..

15:A song that is a cover by another artist

Oh there is several i love so much. I can' just pick one so you gonna get a short list. This is not a complete list by any means, just the ones that came to mind first or listened to recently.

Hurt by Johnny Cash is never not going to be one of the best covers ever. I enjoy Corey Taylor's rendition of Wicked Game a lot. MIW did an amazing take on Somebody told me. I can't not say ST's version of I wanna dance with somebody, because i love that so much more than any other version. Mad World in Gary Jules' version is superb. Placebo's take on Running up that hill is an other one i enjoy a lot. As much as i'm not enjoying 30stm anymore, Leto's singing talent is undeniable and the cover of Stay by Rihanna is a top tier cover. I'm glad had the chance to hear it live. Than of course Everytime we touch became iconic with Cascasa to a generation for a reason, although Electric Callboy did a very fun spin on the cover of that cover. Oh and the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence, man that's up there with the Johnny Cash one.

There definitely are more i love a lot but my memory betrays me as usual.

Project #1: Future Cities.

Prompt: Create a character who has a relation to the theme of "Future Cites".

I started this project by looking for reference on Pinterest. After looking at how other people interpret "Future cites" I decided to create a character based on a technologically advanced cyberpunk future.

(These are my first notes on the type of city I was going to base my character on.)

After deciding on the type of city I would be theming my character on, I decided to look for more reference on how this city would look. I decided to look at the architecture and character designs in games such as Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Cyberpunk2077 and Watchdogs Legion. I chose these games because they are all set in a similar theme to what I am attempting to create within this project. When I had done what I believed to be enough research, I decided to create the first ever draft of my character.

This is a paper sketch of the character. I decided to make him a cyber-criminal who steals data from large server buildings around the city for a bigger organization. I wanted to make his name technology based and after some thought I decided on the name "Terra". I feel like the hair I chose is slightly cliche, but I believe it also fits the theme, so I decided to keep it. I also decided to give him a mask to hide his face since he is a criminal. From here I wanted to do more research into outfits since the one here is extremely bland and not fitting for the theme, so I wanted to go back to study different character's outfits.

Following this sketch, I went back and to my research to look further into the character's clothing.

I used the design for Icarus from Mirror's Edge Catalyst to influence my design quite heavily. I liked the look of the red lines on the black clothing and wanted to see if that would work with blue instead as that was Terra's main colour. I also wanted to adopt some sort of handwear such as gloves because as Terra is a thief, he would wear gloves as to not leave fingerprints. I also looked further into Pinterest with tags relating to cyber punk style clothing and gained an understanding of what I needed in order to create a good outfit for my future cites character.

During my research, I saw a lot of streetwear which influenced my outfit ideas. I narrowed my upper body choices to two options. The first option was a black overcoat and the second was a Black shirt with blue highlights.

This is a new sketch I did for Terra's new outfit. I decided to give him a messenger bag and a pouch on his leg so he can store things without anything getting in his way if he needs to run from something. I believe these small details don't break away from the cyberpunk/streetwear style that I am attempting to replicate. From here I think it would be best to draw some emotion portraits to show how he would look in each of his emotions.

These show how Terra would look when showing a few of the basic emotions such as "Neutral" "Happy/Smug" "Angry/Shouting" and I also included a portrait of how he would look with his mask over his face. Due to these being portraits and not full body, I was able to go into further detail into his face adding aspects such as wrinkles and how his face would morph to match his expression. From this point, I will colour these portraits and the full body sketch and move onto thinking about whether I plan to give him any sort of gadgets or gear.

This is what it looks like after colouring. I believe it still looks quite bland however I believe this is due to not having access to the colours I want to use due to not having a fine line pen to show where one piece of clothing ends and where the next piece starts. I think if I were able to use black rather than grey, the clothing would look more dynamic and fitting for techwear.

Next I decided to think about what sort of equipment to give Terra. I started by thinking of what could assist him in what he does and thought of some sort of vehicle or something to assist in escape and something that could help him with his thievery.

For his transport device I designed a collapsible hoverboard. I decided on this because I believed it fit the theme of future cities and almost fits the crafty nature of a thief who always has a trick to escape.

For his equipment to assist him in stealing things like data, I created a separate character named "Byte". My original design for Byte was a small computer chip with spiderlike legs that could move around and download data from pieces of hardware. While I liked this idea, I felt like this design felt a little too common in Sci-fi content. After realizing this, I thought about a way to make Byte a more unique design. While thinking about this, I decided that I wanted Byte to look quite friendly and be quite a goofy sidekick like character to Terra.

This is the design I chose for Byte. He's a sentient robot designed as a small chicken and is able to use his USB to download data and use a second cable to plug in and disable systems such as cameras and other types of security. He does have a downside however, as his battery is limited, he will need to be charged every so often. As I wanted Byte to be recognizable, I decided to give him a small tuft of hair which is of course made of metal and is just a part of him.

(Byte is very loyal to Terra and will assist him in his thievery by his own free will.)

In conclusion to this project:

I believe this project went quite well because in my eyes, I have created quite a unique character duo who fit within my theme of Future cities, but I also went quite deep into thinking of what equipment my character would have and how it would all work.

As this was my classes' first project, we were told that we should avoid doing it digitally. As this is my primary medium, I struggled quite a bit when using colour on my drawings due to not having full access to a large range of colours.

I do however believe it is important to be able to work both physically and digitally and did quite enjoy this time working in a more practical way.
