Might get long so i'm putting it under a cut, but also because i'm definitely going to trail off a bit.

But in very short: possible but ultimately no.

But as for my answer and usual tangents:

Maybe? But ultimately i don't think so. They could have had ended the project but they would not have stopped music, that is certain. All in all it is their job so they would have continued creating music. But they already were on a steady incline so either way it would have been unreasonable to leave behind the ip/brand and start completely anew. I feel we can expect vastly different angles from here on, maybe not as thematically cohersive as so far we have seen.

Maybe more experimental. Who knows. They built themselves up in a way that they can do whatever they want. Musically it is evident, but also thematically. Nothing lasts for ever gives the opportunity for that. Also they are heavily emphasizing we are in a new era now so change is coming. So in a way they are clearly finished with the chapter that started it all.

For me it always seemd very clear that it started off as a way to cope with whatever Vessel was going through, which slowly morphed into something else along the way. There was a story Vessel needed to work through and that is what concluded with TMBTE. So it was a goodbye in a way. A farewell to what was before. Maybe to who Vessel was when they started or the roots of the project altogether? The two is heavily intertwined anyway. This probably only they could answer.

I can see them maybe leave behind the Sleep lore altogether. At the end of the day it probably was a tool for the story (and a vehicle for marketing, building a mistery) and if that arc is over they might don't want it to overstay it's welcome. Parts of it gonna stay, sure. The imagery, the masks, maybe even the intermission conversations in some form.

But the imagery (meaning artwork and such) is a given. It's cool. Besides of being interesting, it is marketable. Looks good on merch.

The masks.. look they are also cool. They give them an instantly recognizable identity as performers. Also Vessel clearly is not big on appearences besides actually performing. So as long as they keep to the image he can easily say no to interviews and whatnot without branded as an dick.

The intermission conversations so far were Vessel's way of communicating with the crowd if there was a point he wanted to make. I can see that saying if he doesn't want to talk. All of the messages had a very clear direction and something to tell us. Either a thank you for the audiences, or an explanation why Vessel prefers to stay in relative anonimity, etc.

I love the lore don't get me wrong but to me all this always felt more like an anxious person's way to get around his fears and worries rather than actual lore building. Because there are precious little truly canonical lore bits existing. Most of it is what we made of it, what we have seen into it. We filled it with a lot more than it probably had in it at the beginning.

So yeah. I can see them keeping elements from so far for occasions they see fitting or neccessary or even helpful. But i don't see them sticking to it. It would severly limit their own potential. They are already leaving a lot behind.

Before the new masks the focus clearly was on Vessel. It was his story, the others were basically faceless extras in the point of view of looks and all, regardless of the love and appreciation they've got. I think from now on it is going to be theirs as a collective. They are all in focus now.

There is a visible separation from the past already with the visuals of the new masks and they finally breaking silence with II's interview. But even that is keeping in line with their desire to stay focused on the music and not riding the popularity high wave. They could have easily gone for any other platform because everyone would have scramble to have the first exclusive whatever from the new hot shit. But they chose an educational platfrom, because drumeo besides being musical entertainment is an educational platform.

Which eliminates the stupid questions of 'what is this song about' and 'what were you thinking writing this' and 'what inspired this and that'. If we had clear answers for every single lyric and verse, half the discography would became redundant and much less relatable. It would became specific. It would limit what the listener could put into it.

But they seem adamant on keeping the focus still on music and the masks and all still serves that purpose very well. They can pick and choose how they present themselfs and what the wish to convey as a focus. It may shift away from the story so far but the approach is staying. What they built up is good. It's working.

So yeah in a way it did end. It is transforming. As the entire project transformed along the way. I feel it became so much more than it was originally was ment to be and not just because they blew up and the audiences gew. But because there was a very clear impact of this type of raw honesty and they realized that. And they are working from this. At least i feel they are working from a very honest place of desire to connect on a mkre primal level than simply standing in the spotlight and say: we understand you. They are standing at the edge of the spotlight, showing that: they get it.

I have no idea how much sense this makes i'm writing this in the breaks i have during work. But i really did got on a tangent here.

All in all, my answer is a sort of yes and no. I think they would not have ended it, but it has ended in a way after all.

Nothing lasts forever.

But not in a sense of finality but in a sense of moving forward. The focus is not on the ending aspect but on the what's to come.

Change is coming.

Serious question for everyone because I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this. If Sleep Token hadn't blown up like this last year, do you think they would've ended this project after TMBTE? Because I still can't shake off the feeling that this might have been the plan ngl. Just based on how complete everything felt with the trilogy, it felt like a goodbye.

Folks: you CANNOT censor trigger tags. When you block a tag, it doesn't block other "spellings" of it. Writing it as "r@pe" or "r4p3" means that someone who has "tw rape" as a blocked tag will still see that post because you didn't wanna say the word rape. You are hurting people. Do not censor words, because people do not have those filtered out.

aaaand that's a wrap on the other bracelet - newest on left with the earlier blue version on the right. i'm taking a break for a bit and doing unrelated patterns before coming back to redo the original b/w tester. idk if i'll go for more complex renditions of these after this or if i'll see about making a new design or designs to roll with, kind of leaning towards the latter at this point.
