Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Voice Actor Headcanons (Teal Mask and Indigo Disk Edition)

So, the version of this post I did for the main game turned out to be one of my all time most popular posts on this platform, and I'm honestly super happy about that. The majority of people seemed to really like the voices that I picked for each of the characters, and there were some fun discussions in the reblogs and comments.

So it was only a matter of time before I got around to doing the DLC characters, and now that Indigo Disc is finally out, better now than never. Pokemon obviously rarely has voice acting in the main series, so this is the next part of the series where I assign English VA's to each of the characters.

Before I get into this, there are a few points I need to reiterate, as I often do with these posts.

This is NOT CANON. These are HEADCANONS and are unofficial. It’s just a hypothetical situation. If the characters were voiced, this is who I imagine would voice them.

Every major character in the DLC is included here, so there are HEAVY SPOILERS for the game’s DLC storylines. DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE TEAL MASK OR INDIGO DISC OR DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

This VA Headcanons post is SPECIFICALLY for the characters from Pokemon ScarVi's DLC. If you want to see the characters from the main game, the post is here.

As was the case with Nemona and Penny, it's highly likely that the characters will get official English VA's in Pokemon Masters. Remember that this post was constructed prior to this.

I keep seeing video and little mentions about why can't video games have happy ending. Especially when it comes to genres such as cyberpunk and Red dead Redemption etc. I mean cyberpunk is legit beating the players and viewers ass constantly. Can't stop tearing up when the edgerunner song comes up and apparently the cyberpunk DLC is very sad.

(Like I already decided that my Nomad V is going to leave with Panam. That is a happy ending for V.) But I see the way people respond with the "well it's just the genre and the genre is sad!" (I hate that the questions is so much deeper than that. Also I ramble about cyberpunk after this so excuse me.)

I'm like yes that is true but I think what people are fundamentally missing is the economic state of the gaming industry and their need to be seen as adults.

Sadness=Adult and the gaming industry has been stuck on that for a while. Anything that so much as decides not to be a cartoon and colorful you are in for some sadness.

I agree, not everything has to stop and make you stare at the ceiling, contemplating life. That doesn't mean cyberpunk is bad or too sad. Cyberpunk does this very well it's story are tragedies. V doesn't realize until they are dying that life is what you make it. While also taking into the fact that growing up in a poverty dog eat dog system. Strips you of your humanity and it sad that it takes extremes to get that back.

David the same way, but his is more focus on POC poverty and system failures of young men. Very much black teen, hispanic teen coded with anime sprinkled into it.

I don't wanna change the ending we already have I wanna keep them just as they are. But I would love if Cyberpunk 3077. Tackled a happy ending, not like the world changes. Cause that the whole point of cyberpunk. Captlism at it's worse and the inner working will never change BUT.

Small victories, the they the new MC realizes that ya know what. Leaving is better than staying, You don't lose your best fucking friend an hour. They can be made but I think the gamer need to actually speak up. Cause I can already feel the next game gonna punch a hole in my chest.

I've been waiting 2 and half years to play Cyberpunk. it's the game I've wanted to play most since it released. it's just unfortunate it released in the state it was in. I am aiming to play the game "twice," once before overhaul and once after just to see the game differences. (I also finished edgerunners today and will watch it again after I'm more familiar with the game world)

I've heard the patches have fixed the game up quite well and was aiming to play it once the police and car chase overhaul was announced last september with the DLC and edgerunners announcement. BUT that overhaul is now being rolled into the DLC update along with a massive overhaul of pretty much the whole game. thus my choice. every game I've been playing up until now has been just me waiting for this update.

I've been needing another big RPG to sink my teeth into. I need a palate cleanser after all the Apex and OW and other stuff I've been playing.

Do you feel that the Cyberpunk 2077 deserves the attention and sales that Edgerunners has brought it, considering how disappointing the game is?

Deserve is a tricky word. I try not to use it.

I think that CDPR squandered what they had. I think that if they delayed the game by 2 years, they could've released Edgerunners now and put out Cyberpunk in December of 2022 and it would've been an amazing combination.

Instead, they opted to release an unfinished, broken game and Edgerunners is only resparking interest, rather than kindling the kind of original hype it probably intended to.

They had the world building, they had the original creator on board, they had the time and they had Trigger doing an anime. Cyberpunk was in position to be literally a new cultural hallmark in gaming, like GTA or Half Life.

All they had to do is make a great game.

We know they can, but they didn't. Because they rushed. They wanted to put it out in 2020, probably as a homage to the original Cyberpunk 2020 game and because of investor pressure.

Cyberpunk was going to make them money, so they could've afforded to defer for two years. Not just with the base game either. Cyberpunk could've been supported with DLC for at least a few years and then sequels would've kept the ball rolling. New shows/spin offs could've been made.

So my final answer? It wasn't just Edgerunners. Cyberpunk as an entire property was a gold mine. And what did they do? They nuked the mineshaft to get the stuff on the surface, tainting literally all that untapped potential.

They could've made the Cyberpunk series an institution. Instead, they made it a joke. Who is going to be making another potential game like it ever again? Nobody. We're not going to get another cyberpunk open world RPG again with that level of world building and scope again.

It pisses me off to no end.
