Swihi (Gabi) redesign ? It's more likely than you think ...
Tumblr media
Still a wip and it's only a slight redesign but it's still something I thought was well overdue! I wanted to change a few things about her design (such as a different tail, eyes, and digitigrade legs so she could run on all fours !! Plus a slightly longer torso to fit an optional 2nd pair of arms)
+ a face close-up I did a while ago while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with her face

As a fun little bonus (and just in case the screenshots were hard to read), here's Gabi's abilities all written out in one post (w/o the silly little pictures)!!!! o7
Gabi Form (Abilities)
Healing Factor
Gabi possesses a healing factor. She’s able to heal from any injury painlessly without scarring and minimal bruising. As long as Gabi consumes food, she’s able to heal from virtually any sort of injury. The effectiveness of the healing depends on the type of food eaten. Sugary foods, or foods that are considered “unhealthy” (sweets, or fatty type foods) are more effective than “lean” foods. Sugar water is also a viable source. Gabi is unable to heal on an empty stomach. She is able to use food eaten before getting injured to heal, but it’s less effective.
Despite being able to heal injuries, Gabi is still susceptible to getting sick.
However, she is unable to die from illnesses or poisons. She will still get ill, but her bodily functions will still continue to work.
Her healing factor does not get rid of soreness from injuries, and can even cause some soreness as well
Pain Cap
At a certain point, Gabi is unable to feel pain. Her pain threshold and pain tolerance are not heightened. Rather, once pain passes what Gabi is able to handle, the receptors in her brain that process pain are temporarily shut off, rendering Gabi unable to feel pain. Her other senses of touch are unaffected. This “Pian Cap” ability does not affect her ability to feel sore, fatigued, or drained. It simply prevents her from feeling pain. However, fatigue and tiredness that result from the feeling of pain no longer apply, as the pain is no longer felt.
Bullseye
When activated, a small white crosshair (+) will appear in Gabi’s pupils. During this state, Gabi’s vision will temporarily become clearer, allowing her to see up to twice the normal distance that humans can see. A crosshair will also appear in Gabi’s vision, allowing her to “lock onto” a specific target. Once locked on, whatever Gabi throws / launches / attacks with will always hit the target with 100% accuracy. More focus is required in order to “lock onto” a moving target, and depending on certain variables, the accuracy of Gabi’s attack can vary. In some cases, despite locking directly onto the target, the location where her attack lands will change in accordance to the position of the target.
Ex. If a target is moving to the left, Gabi will “lock onto” the target, but her attack be aimed a little more to the left in order to eventually reach the target’s line of movement
This skill is activated on command. Major drawbacks in using this skill include possible headaches when used too often or too long. It is obvious when Gabi uses this skill, as a crosshair appears in her pupils, so it makes it relatively easy to counter. Gabi cannot blink when using this skill, so dry eyes is something she has to be wary of. If something interrupts the skill, such as her vision being blocked or suddenly impaired, it will deactivate.
Weakness Point
An ability similar to Bullseye. While there is no indicator when the ability is active, it works nearly the same. When this ability is activated, Gabi is able to "scope out" and "lock onto" weak points on whatever she is looking at.
In essence, Gabi is able to use this ability to mark where it would be more effective to attack.
Works on both enemies and structures.
This ability could also potentially be used to find hidden enemies, as Gabi can switch between viewing structures and viewing actual enemies. This ability does not have many drawbacks. However, usually Gabi would have to immediately switch to Bullseye to make actual use of her Weakness Point ability.
Quick Time Event
While it seems like increased reaction time, Gab’s reaction time does not actually improve. Rather, it is similar to a QTE in video games. When this skill is activated, the world will gray slightly, and time will slow. Gabi will be nearly unaffected by this, only physically slowing down slightly, but not to the degree that everything else is. Then, Gabi will have a limited time to react to the incoming attack. The time varies. Once the allotted time is over, the world will shift back to its normal speed.
Gabi’s QTE ability will not kick in every single time she is attacked. The severity of the attack and how unaware Gabi is plays a factor. The situation also plays a factor.
Ex. A QTE will not trigger if someone is throwing a pencil case at Gabi.
A QTE, however, WILL trigger if something like a car is thrown at Gabi.
Situations where Gabi would have to dodge multiple things in succession will trigger a QTE
Extra Appendages*
Gabi has the ability to spawn “tendrils” (or tentacles, though this is a contested term for them, as they do not own suckers) from her body. They usually originate from the black marking on her spine, but can be spawned from any part of her body with enough practice. Gabi’s main usage of these tendrils is combat related, although she does tend to use them for more trivial things, such as extra hands to hold things for her.
Her tendrils, as they have no real bone or skeletal structure, are very flexible. They’re capable of twisting and turning easily.
Gabi is able to control the consistency of her tendrils, as well as thickness, and in some cases, even their shape. Gabi is able to make them hard and sharp, or round and slimy, or anything in between.
With certain mastery, Gabi could even create a hammer out of her tendrils, increasing the mass at the end and shaping it in the shape of the head of a hammer.
The length and amount of tendrils Gabi is able to create depends on the amount of food she has stored. The more food Gabi has in her system = the more matter she is able to create = the more matter she can use for making and creating tendrils
Generally, though, she’s able to either have many shorter tendrils, or few long tendrils.
Gabi is able to feel through her tendrils. However, she is unable to feel any pain through them.
As such, Gabi is able to “disconnect” from her tendrils, cutting them off her body. In cases of this, she is unable to control that tendril anymore.
Her tendrils can either move in unison, or they can move independently. It is easier for Gabi to control them uniformly, though with more experience, Gabi can more easily move them independently.
In certain instances, though, they can even more completely independent from Gabi, almost moving instinctively
When Gabi no longer wishes to use her tendrils, they can very easily snake back into Gabi’s body from their place of origin. Or, Gabi can simply disconnect them, separating them from her body. It is faster to separate them from her body, but forces Gabi to have to make brand new tendrils using more food stored. While letting her tendrils snake back in takes a bit more time, it allows Gabi to use that matter again in the future, not taking away from her food reserves.
She can, however, choose to cannibalize her own tendrils. In cases where Gabi disconnects her tendrils and eats them, she’s able to use what she had eaten to make new tendrils without having to use new material.
Major drawbacks of using this ability is back pain. As the tendrils usually originate from the area where her spine is, they tend to weigh down on her spine, causing back pain and soreness. This can also lead to headaches and migraines, especially if much force is used on the tendrils.
“Swihi” Form (Transformation)
When either of three things happen, a transformation will commence. The three triggers are:
1. The consumption of her own blood.
Gabi must drink her own blood to trigger the transformation. Not much blood is needed for the body to register, but too little blood won't result in transformation. This only works with Gabi’s own blood; consuming the blood of others will not have an effect on her transformation. Blood can come from almost any part of her body, but must be ingested through the mouth. Curiously, there are times when Gabi is able to ingest blood, yet retain her normal form.
2. The act of slicing open the mark on her spine.
There is a mark on Gabi’s spine, originating from where the spine connects to the skull and ending at her tailbone. The mark is only slightly wider than her spine. This part of her body is slightly more durable than the rest of her skin, making the tearing of the mark a little harder. The mark itself, or the skin that’s covered by the mark, is sensitive to the touch despite lacking the ability to feel pain. The tearing or slicing of the mark sends signals to the brain, causing the body to undergo transformation.
3. The threat of destruction of the body.
While Gabi’s body can undergo harm and not transform, certain body injuries can end up triggering a transformation. Other than injuries pertaining to the slicing open of the mark on her spine; beheading, disembowelment, and other such extreme injuries will trigger a “defense mechanism”, causing a transformation. Curiously enough, this “defense mechanism” can even kick in right before such injuries. Though rare, this occurrence is much more common when the threat of total destruction of the body is imminent (i.e. large debris falling poses risk of body being fully crushed, transformation occurs before this can happen).
When either three triggers are fulfilled, transformation will begin. The process itself is fairly straightforward. Inside Gabi's body, located near her spine, is a small organ*, black in color and indiscernible in shape. When the process of transforming begins, the organ will “crack open”, allowing its contents to spill out. The mark on her spine, if not already opened, will split open as ropes of thick, blue slime-like material shoot out, almost taking the form of ribbon-like appendages. These appendages wrap around Gabi’s body, forming a casing. The casing, or “shell” continually forms, growing and taking the shape of Gabi’s alternate form. Meanwhile inside the casing, Gabi’s original body melts and breaks down into a viscous liquid, similar to that of a caterpillars’ in a cocoon. The DNA and cellular information from the liquid is stored inside of the small organ, “uploading” and being saved for later.
Once the shell is finished forming, it will harden into a material less slimy and more firm, resembling something more organic. The hardening will start from the feet, leading up to the head. Before the material at the head hardens, the face splits open at certain sections, forming the mouth and the eyes. Afterwards, the head finishes hardening, and the transformation is complete.
The transformation time can vary. Depending on the severity of the situation and the trigger used, transformation can take either two seconds, or can be near instantaneous. A dangerous situation, or triggering the transformation with the threat of imminent destruction generally causes transformation time to be near instant, as the need for transformation and protection becomes most important. Any time longer than two seconds indicates either a) something being wrong with the transformation itself, or b) Gabi is purposefully extending the time necessary just to show off.
Swihi Form (Abilities)
Enhanced Abilities
While transformed, Gabi, or Swihi, gains an immense boost in all of her “stats”, increasing her natural capabilities by a ridiculous amount.
Strength
Swihi’s raw strength is boosted, making her a very hard hitter. At her weakest, Swihi possesses the ability to break through several layers of reinforced steel. The strength in her legs is slightly stronger. At all times, her leg power has the ability of breaking through twice the amount that her upper body is able to break through.
Speed
Swihi’s speed is boosted greatly, making her swift on her feet. The boost in speed also affects her attack speed and reaction time, making Swihi able to dish out attacks and respond to attacks at record time. At her slowest, Swishi is able to move a little under 80mph, and attack / react to attacks around that speed as well
Durability
Swihi is extremely durable. She’s able to tank hard-hitting attacks with ease. Tolerance to pain is increased tremendously as well, making it harder to decapacitate her with pain. Attacks that slice or cut are more effective than blunt attacks for this reason.
Flexibility
Swihi is incredibly flexible. Despite her sturdy body, Swihi lacks bones, allowing her to contort or bend her body in ways impossible for humans or any other creature with a skeletal system / something similar to a skeletal system. Unlike most of her other facets, her flexibility is not something that can vary.
Perception
While Gabi’s vision is slightly impaired, Swihi’s vision is near picture perfect. Her vision, at best, clocks at 20/5, around the same as an eagle’s vision. While her reaction time is improved based on her boost in speed, her improved perception also plays a part in it.
Hearing
Swihi's hearing increases as well. Not too much to say on this front, as it’s fairly self explanatory. Her hearing is akin to that of a cat’s.
Mastery of Other Abilities
The abilities that Gabi is capable of carry over when she is Swihi. However, most drawbacks are negated while she is in this form.
Appendage:
Swihi is still constrained on the amount of tendrils that she is able to create depending on the amount of matter she has available. However, she does not need to expend much focus or mind power in controlling the tendrils. She is able to control them effortlessly, whether they move in unison or move individually. The possibility of back pain and headaches is negated.
Bullseye:
Swihi is able to activate Bullseye at will. A crosshair will no longer appear in her eyes, as she has rings in her eyes rather than a pupil. Headaches are no longer a consequence, though blinking will still cancel out the skill.
Weakness Point
Works similarly as it does with Gabi. However, Swihi is able to further utilize this ability, changing it from simply a way to see weak points to something similar to a Homing Attack. When used, Swihi is able to swiftly change courses, zeroing in and striking whatever weak point she has "locked in" on. This ability, however, can be interrupted.
Healing Factor
As Swihi, she has a more powerful healing factor. She can heal without soreness. While she still needs food to heal, Swihi can also take from non-essential parts of her body (her tail, especially floppy ears, or any tendrils she may have created) in order to heal. Doing so will cause such parts of her to get smaller, as matter is being taken in order to heal.
Pain Cap
Swihi does not have Pain Cap. Rather, all pain felt by Swihi is greatly dulled. While she can still feel pain, it is never as intense as it truly should be.
Battle Frenzy
From the get-go, Swihi and Gabi are different in personality. Gabi's adrenaline spikes when she transforms, making Swihi more impulsive than Gabi normally is, more "battle ready". The longer Swihi is in battle, and the more Swihi gets injured, the more her adrenaline spikes. As such, she becomes more impulsive and wild, boosting her power and battle capability, but decreasing her reason.
When placed in a high stress position during battle, there is a chance that Swihi can go into a Battle Frenzy. During a Battle Frenzy, Swihi's power vastly increases, but she becomes more feral. She gets "lost in the fight", fighting wildly and with reckless abandon. Swihi is more dangerous in this state, but is less strategic as well, making it simultaneously easier and harder to dispatch Swihi.
Battle Frenzy is not to be confused with Swihi just getting too into the fight. With the latter, Swihi is still there mentally. She can still think, and she can be reasoned with. Battle Frenzy is more of a defensive state – Swihi, or rather, Gabi, isn't mentally present, instead giving into sheer instinct and feeling.
It's not a very pleasant state to be in, but Swihi can be knocked out of Battle Frenzy. Swihi can also break free from a Battle Frenzy herself, though it is easier when she is taken out of the situation that brought her in that state.
Paw Pads
While Swihi is not based off of an animal, she still technically has paw pads. Swihi possesses blue pads on the bottom of her paw-like feet. The pads are not only there for the aesthetic, but for functionality as well.
The pads act as shock absorbers. Similarly to a cat's paw pads, they provide Swihi extra cushioning on her feet, helping to lessen the impact of a fall, or a large jump. They also work to absorb the sound made, making her almost silent during most jumps.
The sound absorption also helps Swihi in being silent as she walks and runs.
Also like a cat's paw pads, Swihi is able to sense vibrations, textures, and pressure from the ground below her. Such information helps Swihi to be aware of movement that she cannot see, such as positions of possible enemies.
While her paw pads are soft and squishy, they're extremely durable, and cannot usually be punctured, broken, or cut.
Claws / Teeth
Swihi is able to extend the ends of her fingers, sharpening them into claws on command.
While she prefers to leave them as claws, and usually forms with them already being claws, Swihi usually detracts them whenever holding something, especially if it's a person or living being that she does not wish to harm
Her claws are incredibly sharp. For comparison, she can easily slice through diamond, as well as harder materials than that.
Swihi only has four fingers, including the thumb. Reason being? She just thinks it looks better.
Swihi is able to make her claws longer, extending her reach.
Along with extendable claws, Swihi also possesses a mouth full of sharp teeth.
Despite not having a skeletal system, her teeth are considered to be bones
Her jaw strength is the same as her overall strength. This, along with her incredibly sharp teeth, makes Swihi's bite dangerous
While Swihi can cannibalize almost any part of her body, she cannot cannibalize her own teeth.
If her teeth get knocked or pulled out, Swihi can either place it back in her mouth, or simply regrow a new tooth using her material reserves.
Extra Abilities / Miscellaneous
Nigh-Immortality
Gabi is virtually immortal. She can heal from any injury, and can live through any sort of injury, whether it’s decapacitation, disembowelment, or anything else of the extreme kind. Unlike Hybrids, Gabi does not have a special organ that she would die without (the organ responsible for her transformation does not keep her alive. Furthermore, it is designed to shrivel away if removed from the body and regrow inside Gabi once more). The only real way to kill Gabi would be to destroy her at a cellular level, getting rid of everything.
Adaptability
Gabi, in both her normal form and her Swihi form, is able to adapt to different scenarios. Maybe not mentally, but definitely in a physical aspect.
Gabi/Swihi can survive in:
Extremely hot temperatures (though it will not be pleasant)
Extremely cold temperatures (though it will not be pleasant)
Underwater (Swihi technically does not need oxygen / Gabi’s body adapts to being able to breathe underwater after a few seconds)
In space (Swihi does not need oxygen / Gabi will automatically transform into Swihi if she were to ever be put in space)
Rapid change in air pressure (more of a Swihi thing, as Gabi just transforms whenever something like this happens)
Auto Translation
Another name for this ability is "Dub". An ability that's fairly self explanatory. Activated permanently, Gabi is able to hear other languages as their English translations.
The translations that Gabi hears are all accurate, or as accurate as they can possibly be.
Certain words are not translated, but that’s okay because context clues exist and it’s usually not much of a nuisance in the first place.
Written words are not automatically translated. Rather, the original writing is unchanged, and the translation is seen at the bottom of the words written. This only happens in Gabi’s vision. The words are not truly there, and are more similar to a “hallucination”.
This ability works both ways as well. While Gabi hears herself speaking English, her voice automatically gets translated into whatever language she is meaning to speak.
Ex. If Gabi intends to speak Japanese, her words will be auto translated into Japanese. Gabi, however, will still hear herself speak English
While the ability is extremely useful, it’s mainly just a crutch given to Gabi to help avoid all the technicalities of a new language. As such, the ability feels almost shallow in nature. The drawbacks are a healthy sense of imposter syndrome, as well as general confusion for Gabi when speaking with someone who’s language she does not know (as she can understand them, but without knowing which language they speak, she cannot make them understand her)
Background Music
A not so important ability, which isn’t much of an ability as it’s just a jukebox in her brain. In certain scenarios, Gabi is able to play songs in her head.
This ability is only really in use during combat, as Gabi frequently enjoys hearing music as she fights.
However, this ability can also trigger without Gabi’s intent, boss music at times playing when danger is nearby. It works as a kind of danger sense, but is only slightly more terrifying.
Note: Music tends to be Sonic the Hedgehog related. Or, at the very least, it sounds like something you’d hear in a Sonic game.
There is no real drawback to this ability, other than the chance of a heart attack as some random boss song plays in her head in the middle of the night just because a Devil passed by her window. Not very fun.
Emoting Flyaway
Not necessarily an ability, but Gabi was given it so it’s going to be added here. Once she was granted her powers, she was also given three cosmetic changes. A mark on her spine, a ring of white around her pupils, and a thin cowlick that curves into the shape of a heart. With this flyaway, Gabi can effectively emote with it.
It droops down whenever she feels tired, fatigued or sad.
It twitches when Gabi feels unsure, or confused, or is just processing something.
However, rapid twitching happens when Gabi is irritated
Wagging of the flyaway happens when Gabi is exceptionally happy or excited about something.
The flyaway stands up rigidly when Gabi is surprised or shocked about something.
It’s an ability that doesn’t have much actual use, and is just there for cosmetic reasons. Only real downside is that Gabi can’t hide her emotions all too well, as just like a tail, the flyaway gives away what she’s feeling.
How The Food System Works*
The consumption of food is pretty important to most of Gabi’s more notable and powerful abilities. If Gabi is starved, or simply doesn’t have much food in her stomach, she can’t do much. However, the whole process is just a little more complicated than that.
In essence, Gabi converts a part of her body (namely, the food that she consumes) into another matter. When Gabi herself is in battle or is injured, her body converts the food in her stomach and the food that she eats afterwards into various different cells. The cells that are created depend on what parts of her body Gabi needs repairing. Skin cells, blood cells, tissue cells, and the like are created in quick succession in order for fast healing, even if said healing shouldn’t happen normally.
When Gabi is outside of combat and fully healed, however, the matter that her body creates using food is the dark blue substance that makes up a majority of her Swihi form, as well as her tendrils. When this matter is created, it’s stored in a small, black organ located near her spine until it needs to be used in cases where Gabi forms tendrils, or when she transforms into Swihi.
Despite the small size of the organ, it’s capable of holding a large amount of this transformative matter. The reason for this is, quite honestly, very cheesy. The organ itself is not only an organ, but works as a sort of small pocket dimension inside of Gabi’s body. The substance itself gets dumped into this pocket dimension, and the amount needed for any sort of action is “vacuumed” out, emerging from the organ and being used in whatever way it’s needed to be used.
Gabi is able to stock up on this matter at any time, doing so to make sure that she’s always ready. The threat of over-eating is removed by the organ’s secondary function, which is to act as an almost second stomach. The organ is able to shift its position in Gabi’s body, entering the stomach and catching the food that Gabi eats. That way, the organ is able to directly harvest the food and convert it into transformative matter. This way, Gabi can eat as much as she wants to, and will not get full.
However, the drawback to this is that Gabi’s body does not get the necessary nutrients it needs from the food stolen. If Gabi does this over a long period of time, she will eventually get hungry, and her hunger will not be satiated until the organ moves back to its original position, allowing food to enter the stomach once more.
Fatty foods, or foods that contain a lot of sugar are more effective, as they contain more “filler”, which results in more matter that is being produced.
Note: The transformative matter that Gabi uses to create tendrils or to transform into Swihi goes through clothes with no tearing. It’s specifically designed this way to avoid cliche clothing malfunctions. Checkmate, perverts.
Drawbacks
Many of Gabi’s abilities contain some form of drawback, barring when she is in her Swihi form. However, there are also a few overarching drawbacks that result in Gabi having these powers in general.
Gabi tends to get headaches and back pain much more often due to both the stimulation and the general strain her powers cause her.
The various stimulation can also cause Gabi to feel overwhelmed or overstimulated, causing stress.
The stimulation also tends to cause Gabi to space out, and often makes it hard for her to pay attention. Gabi catches herself losing focus more often, making it hard for her to focus on important things, such as school or work.
This does not affect Gabi when she is in her Swihi form.
After transforming out of her Swihi form, Gabi tends to be dizzy and disorientated since her whole body was just built back up from goop in such a short amount of time, her consciousness being quickly shifted from her Swihi body to her Gabi body.
This also tends to make Gabi end up with a headache, or a brief feeling of confusion.
After being given her abilities, Gabi’s blood changed from normal blood to a different time of sweeter, more sticky kind of blood. It acts the same way as normal blood, but it makes Gabi unable to either donate blood or get blood transfusions, as her body would reject the blood.
For some reason, this also results in Gabi unable to ingest blood. It tastes revolting (Gabi had once compared it to rotting garbage), and trying to ingest it causes her to vomit both the consumed blood, her own blood, and bile.
Curiously, she is able to drink her own blood without a problem, even finding it to be quite pleasant-tasting.
Gabi’s blood is quite sweet as well, both to her and to others. As such, it’s almost like candy to Devils, the very smell of it almost irresistible. It’s addicting as well, much to Gabi’s chagrin.
While this is a problem for Gabi, Swihi does not have this problem, as she does not bleed.

heyyyyy 🫶🏽 question time: I'm about done writing Gabi's lore for part 2. Would it be better for me to post it in text format, or would it be better being accompanied by art instead of just words? Thoughts would be appreciated ♡ (plus random doodles with gabi/swihi and other csm ocs I've seen on tt)
