after finishing diona's and sayu's, the only hangout i haven't done yet is faruzan's. i already maxed out my story keys so i'll be ready when kaeya's hangout drops. after that... my keys will just be sitting there for a while.
#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yo,ide yo !!#that's another part of the game i've completely completed#high ar moment i guess#i'm really curious to see an entirely empty quest menu. but i don't think i'll be able to finish my world quests before fontaine#i'm actually kinda looking forward to the time when i have no quests at all so i can focus on exploring#not in a “wanting to meet objectives” way; it's more like a “quests feel more urgent than exploration so i want to feel like i can chill an#enjoy exploring again“ kind of thing#i know i can technically ignore quests and do that regardless. but#each quest feels like a luxuruious chest worth of resources just sitting there. and there's way fewer quests than actual chests#and my brain just prefers to work on the thing that involves less work first#man inazuma would be way more fun to explore if there were no kairagi#the enemies i hate fighting the most are kairagi and fatui#especially that damned cryogunner. his frost spray attack lasts for fucking forever and there's no reason for it to hurt as much as it does#it's incredibly annoying#that pyro gunner is annoying too. always jumping backwards and shit#i have an irrational hatred for electro cicin mages because of their jp voice. but all things considered they're not all that hard to fight#while we're talking about enemies i wanna mention something real quick#i have a pretty easy time fighting the iniquitous baptist. i use my good ol chongqiunett that's why#and i ony recently realized that people actually hate this boss#i mean i guess it'd be hard to speed run them in the abyss. idk i don't do abyss#the fun thing is that his shields just get weaker and weaker so eventually i can just pop my bursts and go unga bunga

Lumine character study
ALTERNATE TITLE: Lumine makes a mess and doesn’t clean it up.
Takes place after the main Liyui Archon quest, but before she goes to Inazuma
WARNINGS: DEAD DOVE, unusual writing (not in her pov but written as though it is), pseudo-necrophilia, crazy blood and murder, defiling of corpses written in both a comedic and somewhat erotic way,
viewer discretion is advised.
sat on top of Qingxu Pool’s tallest mountain, is a young blonde. The tippity top is hardly wide enough to sit herself, so imagine Paimon’s disappointment when she just has to float beside her. She can disappear at whim, so Lumine doesn’t really… care… She’d rather stare down at the Fatui encampment below them. The payment is good, she’s not scared of them… but there is an undeniable disadvantage.
She should be proud. Not many others are capable of boasting a vision, let alone a powerful one, let alone two… probably more once she continues her travels through Teyvat. No matter what she tells herself, though, none of it helps with how clammy, sweaty, shaky her hands are, almost slipping off the rocks she’s clinging so dearly for life onto. Okay. Calm down. Fatui members.
6 Fatui skirmishers. More than the usual bunch, great. Cryogunner… Hydrogunner… Fucking hate that combo, c’mon guys… Electrohammer, one of those guys that can just disappear… the annoying geo shielder… two pyroslingers…
“Hey, Paimon,” The strange little girl appears in her face, zero regard for her personal space (the usual.) “If I jumped down and hit em with a super high up aerial attack, y’think it’d kill at least one of em? Maybe make em dizzy, at least?” Shit. Being nervous is one thing, but if Paimon tries to comfor-
The little girl looks down at the group, guarding a Rex Lapis artefact they stole. Why can’t Zhongli deal with this? Dickhead. “Umm… Paimon thinks that if you jump down there, um, you’re gonna lose… pretty fast…” Great. Discouragement. Exactly what Lumine needed.
“Thanks. If I die, then Tartagles will totes leave the fatui with a heavy heart, hey Paimon?” She gets up, barely able to balance without rocks chipping away.
“Lumine, stop talking like that- and you can’t seriously think he’d do th- HEY-“ She didn’t even get to finish that sentence before Lumine’s already flying down, less than gracefully, at her adversaries.
—————
my ass is NOT writing a fight scene . be grateful it’d take up too much space in a tumblr fic anyways
—————
Bruised, bleeding… Paimon was right…
Lumine spits out some blood as she turns toward the now corpses of those enemies she was so scared of going against. “P-Pretty bang-up job, eh?” With her hands on her hips and a smirk on her face, Lumine proudly states so… Paimon’s still staring at her in horror, and now disgust and worry. “… Hey. Here’s some mora…” She passes a bag of coins to the small girl. “I’ll um, I’ll clean up. Pretty nasty mess for some innocent civilians to walk in on, eh? You can like, do whatever in Liyue. Your choice on where you stay tonight!” Great deal, right? Lumine’s out of her way and Paimon can do whatever she wants!
“Aren’t you um… injured? As the best tour guide in Teyvat!! um! Paimon thinks Lumine should go to a clinic quickly… or at least Qiqi.” The little girl tries to persuade, but a simple “Paimon. I’m fine. Leave me alone.” Is enough for her to finally teleport away. At least for some time.
The sun is setting. The air is cold, enough to give goosebumps, but nothing more. In another world, Lumine was an artist. In another world, Lumine would have been painting this picture, one of a lone girl standing over corpses far larger than her, with humid, strangely stale air, keeping her hair from flowing too much. This is beautiful. She’s beautiful. She closes her eyes as she soaks it all in, imagining another person may see if they walk by. Qingxu Pool is quiet, generally lonely, but she should… still be considerate, she supposes.
First, the electrohammer douche. Before she was capable of landing the final blow, he smashed her face in, WITH ELECTRICITY... Honestly, she should be glad she’s still alive. Maybe that’s why her mood’s been all over the place since then, though. Dick. Maybe she’ll gut him, leave his innards out for the beasts of Teyvat to devour. It’d be an embarrassment to the Tsaritsa to have her pawns left like this, right? As she pulls off the heavy armour, she smiles warmly at the sight of his torso, twisted, broken, damaged beyond return, visibly changed from the strong Anemo currents that blasted through his body while she fought him. She quietly prays for those that she’s let escape. The fatui, sure, if they escaped they could get help with only a chance of permanent damage and retirement… But the hilichurls? The slimes, the abyss mages? She highly doubts that the beings under the Abyss Order gain any sort of help if they come back injured. Her brother may be kind, but to these types?
Anyways, removing the masks would give them back their humanity, so she’ll keep those on. It’ll also help show the fatui’s weakness, an enemy so strong they’re mutilated beyond return, but kind enough to keep their identities hidden away? She wonders if they’d see it that way. She’s gotta put SOME fear in the fatui, no? It’s not like she enjoys carefully cutting at the skin, pulling the entrails out with her bare, cold hands. It’s not like the hardly functioning organs, shifting and pulsing beneath her fingers, begging to still be of use, are giving her the weirdest boner ever. She’s not like Childe. Or Hu Tao. So why does the image of her enemy’s suffering, brutalized, agonizing corpse, give her such… weird feelings?
Once she’s got her joy from the electro vision wielder, she’s ready to move on. Both the cryo and hydro fatui are far too large to properly move, no offence… but that’s not a reason to not try! Maybe she’ll lay them down, head in the water, so it looks like they just passed out and died via drowning. That’d be kinda funny. If she plays around too much it’ll be totes obvious the crazy hot chick that killed them has something wrong in the brain. Last thing she wants is to lose her innocent cute girl look. Sad!
Then she remembers. Hm. Uh oh.
Lumine gets up with an awkward stumble, glancing around the area. Shit. She never dealt with the one that can disappear, right? Um…… What’re those guys called again?
“Ummm…. Fatui pyro agent…….?” She whisper-yell-questions, as she gets up and properly looks around. If he got away, not good. Not good at all. He knows how she looks. He… probably… knows what she’s done with the corpses. “Pinkity promise not to tell everyone? I’ll prommy not to kill you!” As usual, not taking anything nearly as seriously as someone like her should. After finding no blood trails, nor any elemental ones nearby, she accepts her fate. Can’t chase something that’s long gone. Letting her anxiety ease itself, she turns towards the pyroslinger, who she left a less than ideal gash in between the ribs of.
She flips the body over, staring, almost instantly using her hands to prod inside of it’s wounds. Hehehe. Ugh. The only one who’d even be vaguely understanding of her strange… joys… is Childe. Okay. Maybe Hu Tao. But still. THE PROSPECTS AREN’T GOOD!! Two of Liyue’s biggest creeps shouldn’t even be compared to Lumine. All these complaints as she defiles this corpse. Whatever! She’s having fun and that’s really all that matters, so long as she isn’t caught, right?
Two more left. And she really would like to describe in detail what she’s done to them, but, ah, well…
She mutilates the corpses to the point of no recognizability other than the cloth covering their bodies and the masks on their heads. But now her dress is bloody. Like, more red than white bloody. Why must her life be filled with turmoil?
As she washes her bloodied dress in a pool of water, she looks at the scene left behind. Truthfully 0 explanation for the way the bodies will be found, all left in varying, entirely different ways. It doesn’t necessarily matter, not like Childe will defend them, the far from loyal Harbinger has made it abundantly clear that those that are weaker, are worthless. Good thing he’ll never find out she almost got her shit kicked in! Tee-hee!
As she limps back to Liyue, she finds that same agent that got away, bleeding, disheveled, leaning on a rock. Hm… guess there’s more time to plan a variety of ways to convince Paimon she’s been this big of a mess since the original encounter!

so, now that i'm caught up on everything in genshin ( finally did lyney's story yesterday ), some lumine & lyney/lynette thoughts beneath the readmore -
lumine didn't get upset at lyney and lynette for being fatui.
she got upset with them for lying about it and having it sprung on her mid-trial by furina as she was trying to defend lyney. she had put her trust in him to be innocent of the charges, and while that turned out to be true, she felt stung that he'd withheld this extremely important piece of information that could have easily cost them the trial.
lumine has helped other fatui before ( the two trying to escape in sumeru city, the other one elsewhere in the rainforest whom she let walk away without any trouble ). she has even befriended ( to some extent or another ) one current harbinger and one former harbinger. while she will not hesitate to stop any fatui in their tracks who are causing harm to those around them ( like the fkn cryogunners... ), she's shown time and time again that she's recognizing that many fatui are just people who happen work for the tsaritsa.
she's willing to reconcile with lyney and be friends again, though she does also want an apology for the deception. if you think about it, i'm pretty sure all the other fatui she knows have never tried to hide it -- and that's the part she got upset about.
she doesn't care that lyney and lynette are fatui. she understands why they are and can admit that if she had been in their situation, maybe she'd have made the same choice.
she just wants honesty. that's it. teyvat has put her through the ringer with lies and trials and heartbreak. she just wants honesty.

birthday girl day!!! / Accepting!! - @adversaryss sent:
Birthday gifts for the birthday girl! It is once again Tonia's birthday and so Aias must outstage himself even more than last year's celebration. Since the girl has plenty of slime plushies at this point, she will be pleased to note that the many random slimes she has accumulated and terrorized the countryside with now have their own designated ranch to roam and thrive in. (It's a big responsibility, but he figured she would prefer this to say, a puppy.) Not only that! A young lady Harbinger such as herself needs a signature weapon that all will know her by. And so, Aias presents her with a rather heavy and conspicuously wrapped rectangle.
Tumblr media
"Make sure you don't open this indoors, alright? I don't want you accidentally breaking a window." Again...
As far as Tonia can discern, every gift from Aias is like some absurd power play of how much better, good-er, more lavish and expensive and whatever the next gift is compared to the last - except only Aias is playing the game, so really, he's just trying to upstage himself somehow.
Really weird, but not like she's going to complain when she gets some legitimately neat things by consequence. The gold-bordered certification for a plot of land - which, she is told, is for her free-roaming slimes to rest their weary little slime selves and graze in pleasant but secured wilderness - is already quite the pleasing thing to have in her hands, and her satisfied expression makes her opinion obvious.
Ah, but this is a power play of just how high one man's wealth and thoughtfulness can go, isn't it? So now, there's an additional gift in her hands. A rather bulky, unexpectedly heavy gift.
"What is this?" the girl asks reflexively as she balances its weight, hearing very little knocking coming from inside it. Her face is colored with bright puzzlement as she tries to guess what the thing is - her brother's words doing very little to help, in that regard. Rather, she only gets more confused trying.
"Like, what—did you give me some random Pyroslinger's gun, or something?" she guesses, if only because what else is this elongated, has the potential to be on the heavy side, and can break a window just by supposedly using the thing? Well, it's either that or an elaborately designed slingshot. Only one way to really find out though.
So with some carefulness - not a lot, but she's not ripping the thing apart to open it, at least - she removes the wrapping and opens a very featureless black box. Inside—
Tonia squints a bit, inspecting. "...Is this, a scythe? Halberd?" The blade is folded in towards the handle, though with a closer look, she can see some flexible mechanical parts that indicate it can extend outward with some fiddling. But there's also what looks like a barrel chamber that she's seen on equipment carried by Hydro and Cryogunners, so overall, the type of weapon mystifies her.
Tumblr media
Promptly, and definitely against Aias' warning - she picks up the weapon and immediately starts swinging it around. At least one unfortunate table in the way gets splintered in half under the smooth, sharp movements, even if she's only putting in enough effort just to test the thing.
(But no windows break while she's at it. Yet. He can't complain and say 'told you so' until that happens!)

The time Childe almost killed Tao
The day was any other day. Childe stopped by his boyfriends house, got Tao out of the house and on a walk. They had warming conversations about anything and everything, from embarrassing memories to romantic nights they spent together. It was a nice day, to say the least. Well atleast it was.
As they were on their walk, they'd been confronted by a group of fatui men. Childe, visibly upset that they dare approach him outside of work, made it clear they should leave. Yet the men persisted. 'Who's that you got on your arm?' They asked. 'Leave, now.' Childe would respond. 'Never seen him before, hiding people from us now?' They'd say. 'Do you not understand what the hell leave means?' Childe would say. It was a back and forth.
Tao nervously pulled on Childe's arm, cautiously staring at the big men around him. "Can we go.." He'd ask the ginger in a quiet voice. One of the fatui men laughed aloud. "My my the boy speaks..I recognize you. That long hair, long skirt, can't forget those scars. You've defeated me in battle before." The Electrohammer Vanguard said. He stepped up to Childe and Tao, eyes staring directly at Tao. "Made me look like a fool, now we can't have that. Tartaglia you should step back and let me take care of him."
Childe narrowed his eyes, huffing. "No, you should step back and let us through. We've done nothing. If he's defeated you in battle before that is your fault for losing." He said through gritted teeth. The Electrohammer Vanguard laughed, shaking his head. "Protecting someone that went out of their way to attack the fatui, how can you even call yourself a harbinger? What do you love him?" He asked, causing the rest of the men to pipe up laughing obnoxiously loud. Tao frowned and tried pulling Childe to leave. He wasn't budging.
"Fine. I see you've all made your decision." The ginger sighed, looking at Tao. "I need you to step back, okay? This'll be over soon." He said. Tao's eyes widened and he shook his head. "No, I'm not letting you fight them, especially all alone." Childe narrowed his eyes and took steps back, Tao still holding onto his arm. He got to a rock, sitting Tao down. "Please, just stay here. It's all I ask." Childe pleaded. Tao frowned, looking away. He let out a sigh and a small 'fine'.
Childe smiled and turned around, in a split second he was back with the fatui men and fighting. It was him against the Electrohammer Vanguard, a Cryogunner Legionnaire, a Hydrogunner Legionnaire, an Anemoboxer Vanguard, and a pyro agent. Tao anxiously watched, instinctively playing with his hands. Childe was extremely fast and very strong, but Tao was afraid of how many enemies there were, they would be the victor and not his beloved.
As the fight went on, and the fatui group brung in reinforcements, Childe got more tired and agitated, a few cuts and wounds on him. How was he supposed to win like this?! Then, suddenly an idea came up. In the blink of an eye he transformed into his Foul Legacy form, quickly striking at the men. Tao quickly got up, worry all over his face. He knew how tired the Foul Legacy form made him, it wasn't good for his health or well being! He ran to the fight, using his polearm to fight off the group. Childe hadn't noticed Tao.
As Childe raised a clawed hand, crackling in electro as he struck down and knocked the remaining fatui men down. Along with Tao. Childe had uneven breathes, quickly transforming back into his normal state and looking down at the men. There he saw Tao. He had two large cuts on his chest and stomach, blood rushing out of them and staining Tao's clothes. His eyes were wide and he was shaking, afraid of Childe. He clumsily got up, trying to run as fast as he could away.
"T-tao wait please!! I didn't see you there-! Tao please, you-you're injured!" Childe yelled as he followed after. He messed up horribly, he knew he did. He didn't mean to hurt Tao, he wanted to protect him! He fought all of those men to make sure they didn't lay a hand on Tao. He didn't want Tao getting hurt. And yet he ended up being the direct cause.
Childe pleaded the whole way, trying to touch and hold Tao, but everytime he'd get yelled at and a slap to his arm warning him to stay away. Tao's mind was fragile, Childe knew that. How easily it could break and it probably had. Tao was running away from him.
Tao managed to make it back to his home, Childe still pleading behind him. The commotion caused Zhongli and Filo to leave the house, immediately going to his aid. Childe was a few yards away, frowning. Zhongli had picked up his son, carrying back to their home to clean his wounds. Filo looked at Childe, visibly upset. She wasn't one to mess with when she was in a sour mood. "What did you do?" She asked.
"I-I didn't mean to! He got in the way- I wasn't trying to hurt him! I wanted to protect him!!" Childe cried out. Filo balled up her fists. "You did that to him? Those cuts?" She asked. The ginger cried. "I didn't mean to Filo! H-he got in the way! I told him to stay away!!"
"Tao..what happened?" Zhongli frowned, gently cleaning the two large wounds. Tao had managed to calm down, thanks to his fathers help. He sat in silence, still crying. Zhongli sighed. "Would you rather me get the story from Childe?" He asked. Tao slowly shook his head. "Then you need to tell me what happened son, please."

The grey walls of the lab I've walked through a million times pass by as I go to find my lover. Il Dottore. Possibly the most psychotic of the Fatui harbingers, Yep that's him.
He experimented on children!
As much as I hate that fact I can't help but love him regardless. He's always finding ways to keep himself busy, however he's oddly lazy at the same time. He made a load of copies of himself that do his job for him and they are always working, him too of course, but you're more likely to see him lounging about than the others.
I was meant to be sent here, to be experimented on. However I wasn't too happy when I found out and was locked in a cell. I did what anyone would do and broke myself out and when a Cryogunner legionnaire came to stop me I stole his weapon and brought him to his knees.
Dottore apparently found that attractive..
He is a very questionable man.
I pass through the light blue double doors that lead to where all his doppelgangers are. Their eyes flick up to meet me. One comes to me and says "Hello my dear! You aren't meant to be here right now, is something the matter?" He moves in my way to stop me going to my dottore's office.
"No, no, I'm fine. Just need to speak with Dottore" I wave him off but another copy moves in my way and I now notice that the others have stopped what they are doing and coming to me. It's kind of creepy seeing so many of my partner at once.
"I'm Dottore so is it me you need?" The second one that got in my way spoke quietly. "or me?!" another further back shouted over the others. Soon a chorus of 'or me?'s could be heard.
As much as I love his voice its not fun to be hearing over and over as they hope that it is themselves that I want. "No I don't need any of you right now I-" "You just said you need to see me?" a copy growled as though he was an animal due to the fact he found the cacophony of dottore's an annoyance.
"no not-" a body suddenly threw himself at me and soon they began piling on top of me to try and hug me. The Dottore's starting fighting amongst themselves about who should get to talk to me and get to touch me.
They were so sweet but so jealous of anyone but themselves being with me. Soon a door, that was up a few steps from the main floor that we are all on, slammed open.
There stood my Dottore that had an angered look below his mask. He was not happy that he was being disrupted but when he saw it was me, his anger dissipated. "Get. Off. Of. Them." He spoke slowly but clearly so they knew it was an order they could not disobey. I had to clamber out of the pile of Dottores to stand up straight again and then began a quick walk to my beloved.
He moves out of the way so I can go into his office but then moves back to block the copies view of me. "GET BACK TO WORK YOU SORRY EXCUSES! and you are meant to be keeping them out!" I assume that last message was to the Geochanter that I always knock out before coming in here. He's a sweet boy but he gets difficult since he doesn't want to disobey his lord.
Dottore closed the door behind him with a light click. "Disturbing my work like this.."He shook his head in disaspointment. I quickly look around the room to see food boxes and unhealthy drinks scattered around with no hint of him working at all today.
" disturbing my work, my ass " I said in a snarky tone to get on his nerves. He glares under his mask, I know because his jaw clenched and he move his head towards me. "yeah yeah, whatever. What do you want?" He loses all formality he may ever have when he is with me.
"I just wanted to see you." My face pulls into a pout. He sits on a large sofa across the room from me and I go and join him.
"Well it seems you've seen plenty of me, out there." He put an arm around me. "but I suppose that does prove a personal theory of mine."
My eyes widen in surprise. "what theory is that?" A smirk grows onto his face.
" The theory that every part of me absolutely adores you."I lean into his touch and he continues. "I didn't realise that when I made my copies, successors if you will, that they would be just as madly in love with you as I am."
"I love you too Dottore, you sick bastard"
"ouch" He whines. "such mean words!"
"I wasn't expecting to get tackled by you today so I guess you must really love me" A grin grows on my features as we relax together.

actually, the festering fang wasn't nearly as much of a hassle as i thought it would be. that's mostly because i already had 46 starsilver beforehand tho. the waves of fatui weren't bad either. at least they didn't include a hydrogunner to make the cryogunner 10x more annoying. now i just have another spear that i'm never gonna use lmao
with that, mondstadt's reputation quests are 100% complete. i think i'll do nine pillars next, then yaksha's wish. and then try to get inazuma to 60% exploration until i unlock narukami trail, then all in on sumeru quests. and then after that maybe the frostbearing tree or whatever cuz i haven't done that yet.

The snow crunched beneath his heavy boots and the freezing wind stung his face where the mask did not cover. Mondstadt beckoned him home with its warm hills and clear skies, and Diluc shrugged off the familiar temptation, tugging the fur-lined trim of his coat tighter around his chest and his hood down over his eyes. Still, he shuddered. A testament to the power of the Tsaritsa. Just as with their glorious mission, there was nothing that could keep out the ice for long.
Perhaps, his new mission would lead him somewhere warmer, he thought. From what he had heard of the harbinger Tartaglia’s missions, he tended to travel far and wide. It didn’t seem like a far-fetched dream.
Either way, it was an honor to be assigned to a harbinger’s team—and a notable step up in rank. Though, depending on the harbinger and their temperament, it could also be a death sentence.
Diluc looked forward to the challenge.
He ducked into the stone building and shook the snow from his shoulders and hood before he stepped further in. Two others were there already: a mirror maiden and a cryogunner. A cicin mage slipped through the door behind him before it closed and they joined the others at attention to await their new commander.
At the first sign of his arrival, they placed their hands over their hearts and knelt, lowering their eyes in deference before they’d even seen his boots.
As the highest ranking officer among them, Diluc spoke up. “My lord, we await your orders.”
