BG3 INSP: Spare the Illithid, Spoil the Flood Tide - Pt1

Allandra Grey, the Flood Tide (high priestess) of the sea goddess Umberlee, had made a grave mistake once as a youth. She had never seen a Mind Flayer in the flesh before, so when one just so happened to be marooned in her seas, she thought nothing of bringing the creature safely to shore. She had quite the fondness for tentacles, after all. Umberlee, however, was furious, ordering her daughter to quickly dispatch the Mind Flayer she was sheltering, lest the Illithid scourge spread through their domain!

I realised, that I never showed house of Shizuko and Simako from outside. So here’s a little glimpse of how it presents in snowy scenery, with a melting guys in garden.

There’s nothing to brag about, cause I’ve didn’t build it. Tbh, I can’t even rebuild it, cause roof is too complicated in CFE code. xd

I had offered a .sim file via MediaFire, but my own testing suggests that additional occult states are stripped from the .sim files. My apologies to any who downloaded a plantsim version of Isley who was not also a plumbot remains ghost.

More lots

Okay, I’m back! And thank you all, for all your likes and kind comments. It always surprises me when other players actually like my towns. Either you all are being really, really sweet or you’re higher than a kite. 

Anyway, this first lot is directly behind the Nippori Saki lot. I think it’s a 10x20 space, so I decided to just make it into a basketball court. I actually made this lot for that Mayumachi world, then decided to recycle it here. All I did here was add the bicycles and vending machines out front, since the original lot was built on a much smaller space. 

The little park near the road was originally created by CamernutzII for her Banyan Bend world. I just repurposed it a bit, changing out some of the plants and using that 4 to 3 statue conversion. Anyway, it’s now called Ci’en Park and is on a tiny 8x20 site. But it does come with pigeons who’ll be happy to take a dump on you. 

Behind it is another lot she created for Banyan Bend called Howling Wolf Tattoos. I made some changes to the landscaping but otherwise it’s as she created it.

Then, across the street and next to the town museum is a lovely garden I found over on MTS, created by HystericalParoxysm, called Koigu Community Garden. I had to search through the Wayback machine to find those Mansfield planters, but they were worth the effort. About the only thing I did was use those parking meter parking spaces and inside that little building I placed that canning station so Sims can pick stuff and then can it.

Across from the school, I gave my sims an actual pool, because some of them were complaining about the strange rashes they were getting from swimming in the harbor. The original pool was pretty nasty with moldy walls and muddy-green water. (They weren’t real happy about it either, since they were still breaking out in hives). So, the town council got together and built this one. And they’re still not happy because now I charge them to swim here. (I use that ticket machine from that cinema set).

Next door is another lot I originally built for Mayumachi. It was on a much smaller lot in that town, so I added a few extra things to it here - like a firepit and some dog houses right behind those trees. It’s called the Shuzhang Gou Gong Yuan park for dogs. Keeps the town mutts off the streets and gives strays someplace to sleep. 

This is the Scholar Garden that EA built. It’s on a bigger lot now, so I just enlarged a few things - like the water features. Plus, I changed out some of the trees - thank you, @crowkeeperthesimmer​ for the lovely trees! I’ve been using them all over this town! I also plunked down that dead-looking tree with the big hole - it’s actually a beehive, so sims can collect honey there. And behind the actual building EA built, I placed Sandy’s archery target, so they can practice shooting other sims. 

And here’s the town hospital. Didn’t do much to this lot because I was lazy. I usually build an actual hospital when I redo this world, but again, I was lazy. So all I did was change out the trees, add that fountain and that sign from Around the Sims 3. I also gave them some grungy benches - curtesy of Sandy! - to sit on while they try to figure out how they’re going to pay their bill.

Hope your papers and exams are going well! I got it into my head to make a Drow save, but now I'm stumped about where they should live. Do you know of any worlds that scream "Underdark" to you? Thanks!

Yes, my papers and (some of) my exams went really well, thank you! (The less said about my German exam, the better, *whimpers.*) I just submitted my last paper and exam over the weekend, so now I'm free! (For like 3 weeks, lol.)

It's really up to you what you imagine the Drow live like. The only spooky world I can think of that might work for Dark Elves is Caracan over at Simszoo: https://www.simszoo.de/filebase/file/4221-caracan-empty/

I bet it would look really great at night, more like an underground cave system. (I've already tried and failed to make a permanently dark/nighttime lighting mod.) Throw some of the glowing crystals from Lunar Lakes in there (the recolorable ones at MTS, so you can make them purple, the iconic D&D Drow color), some giant spiders, some freaky plants (these are a good start), and yup.

You'd have to add your own lots to it, though, since it's an Empty world.

The furnished version at https://www.simszoo.de/filebase/file/4262-caracan/ is of course waaaaaay too modern

But I can easily see you replacing the lots with maybe some darker recolors from Dragon Valley, or even @crowkeeperthesimmer's lots https://crowkeeperthesimmer.tumblr.com/tagged/download, since their fairy/fantasy lots are just...insane.

After being thoroughly scolded by the goddess Umberlee, Allandra made her way back to the Mind Flayer she had unwisely rescued. Although it was a charismatic & smooth talker, Allandra refused to be swayed! In Umberlee's name, she smote the Illithid where it stood. She drowned out any lingering waves of guilt and returned to her mother, whose approval over her having safeguarded all merfolk from Illithid influence brought Allandra much-needed comfort.

Ok, not ALL Mind Flayers are evil brain-sucking monsters, I know. 😔 Just...like...98% of them are. 😅 So I felt bad or whatever, but Umberlee doesn't play around--she's called the B***h Queen for a reason. 👀
