I get that the characters and players aren't too keen on religion, i get that Marisha and her characters hate the idea of gods controlling stuff, i get that ashton is a punk and that everyone else (aside FCG) isn't keen on the gods.
But they were given a vision by a god in her temple, even without believing in her as well as got multum of useful stuff about the perspective of the clerics, and yet they still doubt in helping the gods.
I may be ignorant here but i don't think any of them ever suffered because of the gods. In fact quite the opposite, Pike with the powers of Seranre allowed Laudna to even be resurrected.
Ashton feels abbandoned by them and doesn't care but to me his idea that the gods have "favourites" disregard that gods aren't there and the only way they help is through the people that truly commit to the belief and through doing stuff for their cause. I am happy that he doesn't wish to kneel for them and that he stands up for himself, but it severely damaged the idea of how the gods work in Exandria.
And only FCG speaks in true favor of the gods side and his arguments make sense, but the other players seem to be lost in the idea that gods aren't worth saving.
The goal of this rant is that i feel like the players seem to be so lost in the idea of gods not being worthy allies (which extends to their followers), that even after being granted a vision they seem to not acknowledge that the gods helped them- FCG being the main proof that the gods are willing to help.
(I am also mad they so much world changing info to themselves which definitely will lead to major casualties, like telling vox machina right away ab secret of Ruidus or giving advice to the soldiers on what to expect, - remember Predathos is a secret to all, i doubt few if any clerics know even about it's existence)
TL;DR Players are too convinced that gods and their followers won't help them even after getting a free vision, which in company of them withholding information on Predathos is gonna lead to unnecessary deaths and tragedies imo.
Also i think Laudna gonna find out ab Imogens lightning tiddies real soon-

matt ruling that the technical damage from the explosion was irrelevant due to the power and weight of fcg’s sacrifice is what really got me. even if sam rolled the max possible number on the dice, it wouldn’t have even brought otohan to below where she was before she took the health potion. mechanically speaking, she should have survived that blast by a LOT of hit points. but this was a player willingly killing their own character, beyond reviving and even potentially beyond resurrection, to give the rest of the party any advantage they could, and he rewarded that with the death of an antagonist that has haunted this campaign from the very beginning. unreal fucking plays by both matt and sam tonight.

I'm just gonna speak my mind here and i hope people who wish to add something to this will without hesitation. (There is TLDR at the end)
I am kind of dissatisfied with the way the whole Ruidus arc is going, we know Matt had it in the works for a long time and I respect him for it. But i have couple issues:
1) The players and their characters genuinely feel just as i do that they have no place in this battle. The side of Ludinus wronged them but in a more personal way than the big fight between the people that want gods dead and people dedicated to the gods. Making it too confusing for the players imo.
2) I the journeys character went through Matt never have introduced a positive perspective on the gods yet. In this big discussion which impacts the world on a cosmic scale we only see the negative perspective on the gods, FCG only just recently made contact with Changebringer but aside that we have nothing. Which makes it seem as if Matt is trying to force-feed the ideology to the players without providing any counterpoint to it. It's like trying to persuade an audience by limiting the arguments you present only to your favour, there's no real discussion, there's only the negative perspective.
3) Matt never makes sure players better understand the influence of the gods. The players while talking about the gods mostly think of the good gods, the ones that saved and fought for the lives of mortals. Matt doesn't metion the good deeds the Dawnfather and his followers had done, He doesn't mention that the gods wish for mortals to prosper, He never provided good argument for why hiding the information about Rudius was a good call: I have one !
If that information was wide spread during age of Arcanum, I don't think the gods would exist anymore, which brings me to the 4th point.
4) Ludinus is obviously from the age of Arcanum, he already hated the gods bc of wizards hatred for things that are more powerful than them or that might limit them, but also add the Horrors of the Calamity and we have a person who looks passed the good things the (good) gods have done and actively wants to kill em and is very angry that the Gods have the audacity of bot wanting to Be fuckin erased from existence like the Raven Queen did to their sibling (aka og god of death)
TL:DR Matt provides unfair narrative towards the entity that are the Good Gods in the current arc and i am unhappy ab it.
Please share your thoughts.

[ID: A digital illustration of Fearne Calloway and Orym from Critical Role. Fearne has a hand on Orym's shoulder and looking at him with a concerned expression. She says "Orym." and he looks up at her with a curious expression and responds "hm?", Fearne continues "Don't be brave." End description.]
