It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
Meet the Cast- Mike Mallaley
Mike started his love of theatre as a chorus member in The Ugly Duckling at the age of 6 and has been in love with the stage ever since. Born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Mike has been involved in over 50 stage and film productions and has called Charlottetown home for the last four years. Since moving to PEI, Mike has appeared in The Shop Around the Corner, Raised on Television 2&3, and will hopefully still appear in Noises Off (fingers crossed!)
ACT asked Mike a few questions about the show:
I play 5 different characters with recurring roles as Uncle Billy and Bert the cop. My absolute favourite character in the whole show is Uncle Billy and I’m super excited to have the opportunity to play him! I find it most challenging to limit my physicality when portraying the characters and just use my voice instead.
I absolutely love having the opportunity to play so many characters at the same time and to see and hear my cast mates have just as much fun. I have also really enjoyed watching the foley process and hear the sounds come to life from random, everyday objects.
Community theatre for me is just that; community. Meeting people from all walks of life and building those lifelong relationships inside and outside of the theatre is just as important as each show that gets staged.
