Jazz N Soul Music welcomes back The Calvin Edwards Trio performing a blend of Soul and Jazz that will keep you entertained all night long! Jazz guitarist and Soul singer and songwriter Calvin Edwards brings his dynamic trio to The Loft and Cellar in Uptown Charlotte. Calvin is a well-known international artist who has performed in Okinawa, Tokyo, and China as well as performing for the G8 Summit for President Clinton in Okinawa. At 17, he joined the famous Gospel group Five Blind Boys of Alabama for many years. Join us for a night of Smokin' Blues, Soul, and Jazz! It all happens at the Loft & Cellar in beautiful Uptown Charlotte! Don't miss a chance to experience real Jazz, Soul, and Blues music the way it was meant to be played. Two Shows: 7:00pm (Early Show) and 9:30p (Late Show) Dinner will be served during the show, so arrive early to secure the best tables. Friday, Jan. 25th - The Xmen: A Live Vibe, featuring Tony Russell on Bass (Kendrick Lamar, P Diddy, Jay-Z), with Special Guests and Friends at the Rabbit Hole in Plaza Midwood, Friday January 25th! Musician/Producer/Composer Tim Scott Jr. and Evan Brice lead a group of talented international musicians as they take you on a Funky, Soulful, Rockin; journey! The XMen's original music is an amazing fusion of R&B, Trap Music, Jazz and Fusion which showcases their diversity, musicianship and versatility. The XMen is a songwriting/production group turned live band from Charlotte, NC. Comprised of virtuoso musicians and singers, Evan Brice, CJ Mercer, Chris Kee, CJ Thompson and Ahji. The XMen are among some of the most in demand artists in the city of Charlotte and surrounding areas alike. Individually they have traveled and recorded with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Anthony Hamilton, Usher, SWV, Migos, Tamia, JoJo and Deborah Cox to name a few. They have been equally successful since coming together as a collective performing with K Michelle, Derrick Hodge, The Hamiltones and Leela James (who they also produced a song that reached #13 on the charts). They are a well-oiled, highly trained and well-rounded machine that has proven to be a lethal combination in multiple settings across the board. And they're still just getting started! On Friday, Oct. 12th - Jazz N Soul Music will present Menastree, a Fusion of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Funk, and Soul! Menastree - was born in the early summer of 2014, originating from Charlotte North Carolina. Beginning with musician/producer and videographer DJ Lil Tone, Musician/producer Jesse Lemar Williams and musician/vocalist Jeremy Mayher. Menastree created their formula for their sound by backing various artist deriving from various genres and performing at festivals such as SXSW. As a result of the new age mashup sound with elements of hip-hop/trap/jazz/house and R&B. By January 2017 Menastree had officially been established. Solidifying the establishment with the particularly chosen additions of Zach Wheeler, Braxton Bateman, Malcolm Charles, Waneisha “Nish” Massey , Curt Keyz , Stefan Kallander , and Marcus Jones. On Friday, June 1st Jazz N Soul Music presents Saxophonist Dante Lewis, A Sweet Love Tribute to Anita Baker. Saxophonist Dante Lewis has been wowing audiences throughout the Carolinas since the age of 12 with an unmistakably passionate sound. In addition to the Low Country Jazz Festival where he met Nick Colionne, Lewis has performed at other high profile venues, including opening for Jonathan Butler as part of the Charlotte, NC jazz series, the Cool Jazz Cruise, and Charlotte’s Bearden Birthday Bash.
