oh ive always got more thistlecaster headcanons

fabian has never gotten sillier at a school dance than when he goes w gorgug. completely gives up on sophistication and choreography and being the future of dance and literally just jumps around with him for like two hours. he gets spun a lot bc he's a head shorter than gorgug and it makes him laugh every time

gorgug really likes fabian's laugh--the big bravado-filled guffaw, sure, but also the shrieky, undignified cackle that he makes when he actually finds something funny

i know we may be losing bloodrush buds but luckily it is just as easy for gorgug to pine over a pretty, covered-in-sweat-and-dirt-and-grass-stains fabian from the stands as it is from the field. easier, even

couples tattoos are generally a bad idea. however these two get them after their fifth anniversary--worst case, they decide its a friends tattoo!

(fabian's is an axe with flowers twining around the hilt. gorgug's is a sword with a silk sheet flowing around the blade. both are in gold ink, and they're both on the inside of their right forearm)

gorgug is a big fan of picking up his boyfriend. physically. he can do it he's got the strength and fabian is just sooooo easy to lift AND it makes him laugh or blush and get all cute and flustered. it's a win either way

this usually ends in them kissing for a solid minute or two before they get moving

gorgug helps fabian learn how to cook and bake! he also makes food for fabian a lot bc it's a huge huge part of orcish culture and fabian is so unbelievably touched whenever he does. it's a lot of breakfasts

they'd have a lot of post-bloodrush sleepovers but apparently they arent my bloodrush boys anymore. don't worry gorgug still insists on having the sleepovers once he realizes fabian is more upset about losing time with him than about him leaving the team

gorgug is initially so careful when they kiss bc Tusks. fabian appreciates that but also he likes the tusks he does not mind getting nicked in his quest to kiss his boyfriend

when he writes and performs a song for fabian, fabian fully bursts into tears bc he's so touched. gorgug is so worried until fabian manages to explain that no it's just really really sweet and he loves him and then well gorgug HAS to kiss him about it

their wedding is a huge blend of elvish, gnomish, orcish and solesian culture. it's also a very small affair with only their closest friends and family--but, bc fabian is involved, it's appropriately lavish and also a dry wedding

they both become very good at dealing with each other's nightmares--gorgug usually needs to spar or do something to get the adrenaline-fueled energy rush out, but sometimes he slips back into life-or-death mode. meanwhile fabian usually needs quiet and to be held and to feel that gorgug is alive and okay, but sometimes he gets worried that he's still dreaming. they both adapt. they love each other enough to adapt.

not to overuse an old meme but they are most certainly "if i run at gorgug he will catch me in his arms" "wait don't i'm holding clobica--"

in their (married!!! adult!!! happily ever after!!!) house there's a doghouse/mini-garage for the hangman, a garage for the hangvan, and special perches in gorgug's workshop for all of the Creatures gorgug keeps making

fabian becomes reaaaaally good at cooking breakfast. and that's it. he's passable at the other two meals but that man can bake and make a stack of french toast. there's a lot of breakfast in bed

they never stop being just. so in love with each other. someone asks gorgug how he fell for fabian and he just blinks and goes "how could i not?" and fabian feels the same way about him

Gorgug Thistlespring and his Pokemon team - if he had one

Fraxure - A tinier axe wielder for our axe wielder. Pangoro - A big beefy fighter for our barbarian. Porygon - I put this one in as a nod to Cloaca and Clobica. A man-made bird - it just fits. Thwackey - A decent fighter for sure, but also a little drummer with built in drum sticks. Tinkatuff - A tinkerer just like Gorgug, but also, just like Gorgug, ready to fuck shit up. Varoom - An engine for the teen that knows how to work an engine whether it be magical van or magical motorcycle.

Bad Kids level 12 breakdown!

Returned from the Vulture Dimension and on a roll academically, the Bad Kids have hit level 12. We've got some simple updates and some complex choices, so let's break it down. In case you missed my level 11 update, check it out here!

Adaine: Wizard 12. She's increased her intelligence by 2, taking it to 20 (the max it can get without magical objects) and making her modifier +5. This increases her spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and all INT-based skills (Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion) by 1. She can now prepare 17 spells per day (previously 15), and learns two new spells, which can be 1st-6th level.

Fabian: Fighter 6/Bard 6 (was Bard 5). He learns a new bard spell, which can be 1st-3rd level, and gets a third 3rd-level spell slot. He also gets a feature called Countercharm, which allows him to use his action to give allies within 30 ft advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened. He would also get Extra Attack as a level 6 Swords bard, but he already has it from being a level 5+ fighter.

Fig: HOOOO BOY FIGUEROTH FAETH. Fig is now Bard 9/Paladin 2/Warlock 1. She's lost a warlock level and gained two paladin levels. With that, she loses whatever eldritch invocations she got last level, 1 1st-level warlock spell slot, and 1 known warlock spell. She gains Divine Sense 6 times per long rest (which we saw her use this episode, German Shepherd-style!), 10 points of Lay on Hands healing, Divine Smite, an unknown fighting style, and paladin spells. Multiclass spellcasting gets a little complicated, but the basics of it is she gets a second 5th-level spell slot and can prepare 6 spells from the paladin list per day, in addition to the bard and warlock spells she knows. She can cast any of her spells with any of her slots, and only the 1 warlock slot recharges on a short rest.

Gorgug: Barbarian 6/Artificer 6 (was Artificer 5). He learns two new artificer infusions, bringing him to 6 total, and can have 3 infused items at once. His tool checks now have expertise, so double his proficiency bonus. In addition (and this happened a few episodes ago, so I apologize for missing it!), he's changed his subclass from Alchemist to Battle Smith. He loses proficiency with alchemist's tools, subclass spells (Healing Word, Ray of Sickness, Flaming Sphere, Melf's Acid Arrow), elemental elixirs, and the damage bonus for spells that deal acid/fire/necrotic/poison damage. He gains proficiency with smith's tools, subclass spells (Heroism, Shield, Branding Smite, Warding Bond), can now use INT instead of STR/DEX for weapon attack and damage rolls (his strength is higher than his intelligence, so this may not come into play), Extra Attack (which he already has), and, biggest of all, Clobica, his Steel Defender.

Kristen: Cleric 12. Kristen has taken an unknown feat--we can rule out any that increase ability scores, but beyond that no clue. My baseless guess is War Caster, which grants advantage on maintaining concentration checks, and is a very solid choice for any caster, particularly clerics, who have a lot of concentration spells. She can also now prepare 17 spells per day (previously 16).

Riz: Rogue 12. Like Adaine, Riz increased his intelligence by 2, bringing it to 18, making his modifier +4. This increases his spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and all INT-based skills (Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion) by 1.

And across the board, everyone's HP goes up and they get another hit die. Let's see how this unfolds, please let me know if I missed anything, and see you next level!

Fabian having a Bad Day 2.0 was not something I thought was possible, but it was. Him falling apart and having that literally shitty culmination at the end just makes so much sense. He's always been so heavily affected by his family. It's not until today that it really sank in that he's alone in his home and he misses and yearns for his parents. Yeah, maybe Fabian was a bit at fault for missing Hallariel's calls, but she could've stayed on the phone for a few seconds longer for Fabian. She's not talked to Fabian for a while, but somehow knows about Cloaca and Clobica? That fucking hurts. Sure, maybe Bill's doing shit in hell, but he probably is able to communicate with his warlocks anytime, right?Bill and Hallariel don't even have to say much, just a simple "Hi, I love you" would've done a world of good. But Fabian doesn't get that.

And hey, maybe it might be easier for him to contact Cathilda since there's a portal to Leviathan in Mordred, but if he tried to do that during this time too, he'd still fail.

Plus it's crazy how the first rage token was almost caused by Fabian's loneliness and lack of parental guidance. It would've been so fitting. He deserves to feel anger about his situation, about being left to fend for himself before he could even have the time to truly bond with his mother and future stepfather. And it's valid for any of his friends to be mad about it too.
