Camp Nanowrimo Update! #1

The idea of this was a week 1 update but it's sort of the 9th for me. Though it does mean I could do one every Sunday for the rest of the month!

WELL I think I'm reaching my goal sooner than I thought, though I am overwriting my target WC for this manuscript so I will have to cut down a bit in my editing.

What helped:

Outlining (I outline an arc or part of my manuscript at a time rather than the whole story. But I do have an idea of what I want parts to achieve before going into it!)

I listen to music while I write

Sprints! Though I want to do more

Having a writing friend to share snippets with

Comments:

I'm SO close to the end of my goal which means the end of this wip draft FINALLY and it's a pretty clean draft too! This wip came from many rewrites and I truly feel this is the one as it's much more well rounded and detailed. So much nuance and uses a lot of my learnings about writing. Might be able to finish it this week!

What helped:

Taking a break. As you can see, my word count per day went down for a while. I was a bit nervous to approach the final chapter of this novel as I want to make sure it's... perfect? It doesn't have to be but there is some self held expectations around it. But I'm getting through and getting there for real

On top of taking a break, having a step away in general is good because your mind will open up to more ideas when you see things from further away
