Miniaturist Perfectly Recreates Historical Interiors at a Staggering 1:12 Scale:
On his popular Instagram account, artist Chris Toledo shares ornate interiors and bathroom remodels. There is one distinct difference, however, between his handiwork and the type of thing you’d find on Pinterest. All of Toledo’s interiors are miniaturized at a 1:12 scale. If it weren’t for his hand cramming into the small spaces—or a full-sized toothbrush towering in the bathroom or a real head of garlic taking up half the kitchen—you’d never realize how tiny these places are; his details are just that impeccable.
“Since I was a kid, I loved to create,” he tells My Modern Met, “from building little houses out of sticks and pebbles in my backyard to painting portraits of my friends and family.” His father was also an influence as a contractor and a woodworker who passed down a love of furniture-making and architecture..."

rumored lover
Amy still remembers all the things people would say about her rumored lover. Some people said he was a professional baseball player from one of those cities on the Coast. They never said which coast, but folks would nod like they completely understood. Some people swore it was Emmett Mulaney cheating on his wife, Bridget, just like he’d cheated on Amy with Bridget when they were in the tenth grade. Some people said her lover was Tom Cruise. Amy’s still not sure how that one got started, but all these years later, it still makes her laugh. Imagine her with Jerry Maguire. It could never be.
She’s still the only one who knows the identity of Poppy’s father. Maybe one day, she’ll tell people. Starting with Poppy, of course. But at four years old, she’s still not very interested in the idea that she might have a dad. Mommy is enough. They go to see Aunt Jane at the museum, they swim in Uncle Luke and Aunt Eliza’s pool, and they call Uncle Chris and Aunt Blair to tease them about living in Milwaukee.
Amy almost wishes one of those rumors were true. She almost wishes she would have told people who Poppy’s father was. But she kind of liked the way it rocked people’s worlds. Not her mother’s, of course. Mom’s far too liberated to freak out about her daughter getting pregnant by an anonymous body. But her grandparents, cousins, colleagues … people like that. It was like they’d never heard of anyone getting pregnant out of wedlock before. It was like they completely forgot about the way Chris was conceived. Bullshit, honestly.
But Amy loves being a scandal. It gives her … life, like she’s made of glitter and glue. She loves being the talk of the town, and she loves when people assume she’s bad. It just gives her every excuse to play into it, to fuck up, to give the people what they want. And people want to see homecoming queens fall hard.
They don’t need to know that Poppy’s biological father is some art historian that Amy met during one of Jane’s exhibits in Detroit. They don’t need to know that their first and only date was a long drive to the Toledo Museum of Art because he wanted to show her Oath of the Horatii. They don’t need to know that Amy was actually impressed, which was why she took him home … which was why she wound up pregnant before she even knew it. They don’t need to know that he just went back to his life in Chicago. Not with animosity. Just with ignorance.
Amy didn’t want to blow up his life. But more than that, she didn’t want to blow up her own. What was she going to do? Risk everything for some guy and one date? No. She’d been that girl dreaming of one love for too long. She wasn’t going to rope a stranger back into her life. She already had one stranger coming into it.
But she still lets people whisper about her rumored lover.
It’s a good time, really, when she thinks about it.

hi! I only recently started to be interested in csh/will toledo lore and I don't really understand 1 trait danger, I really like your art, but can you please explain what is this and why do you like it so much (not in /neg way, I love how passionate you are about it) does it have some kind of story? I listened few songs, but didn't really understand anything :")
thanks!
HELLO YES!!!! 1TD is basically the funnier twin brother to CSH. it's led by andrew but frequently features the rest of the band as like a supporting cast (mainly will, who helps make a looot of the songs and performs with andrew)
it has quite a bit of lore to it, the characters are trait (portrayed by will) and stoney (portrayed by andrew), 1 Trait High is about their high school experience with bullies and such, 1 Trait World Tour is about going to a festival and their first big show as a band (which is so stressful it leads to them breaking up), and 1 Trait Bangers is primarily about them reuniting and making a new album under the threat of matador's head chris lombardi. there's a LOT of other stuff but it'd be way too long for one post lmao
it appealed to me a lot more than CSH so i was way into 1TD before i started really caring about CSH itself, i don't really know what drew me to it so much but i just thought it was really funny and silly, i like the music a lot and i am very interested in the world! and i have a lot of fun doing my own world building with it w/ headcanons and all that, i feel like i've kinda made these characters my own sometimes lol i'm a lil extreme sometimes about it. also i find my own humor in taking something that's very silly and making it a lil angsty and dramatic ;;; one day i'll make a doc or something explaining everything in my head in more detail. maybe. MAYBE

Detroit Tigers-Minnesota Twins Series Preview
5.23.22-Beau Brieske RHP (0-3) 5.13 ERA Vs. Chris Archer RHP (0-1) 4.10 ERA
5.24.22-Elvin Rodriguez RHP (0-0) 13.50 ERA Vs. Sonny Gray RHP (1-1) 3.48 ERA
5.25.22-TBA Vs. Dylan Bundy RHP (3-2) 5.14 ERA
The Tigers At A Glance- Everyone thought the Tigers made a big leap forward in 2021 with 77 wins and some first round picks reaching the Major League level. Detroit has went 8-14 since the Twins last saw them and are tied for last with the Royals in the American League Central. The Tigers split what turned out to be a two-game series in Cleveland this weekend. Saturday’s game got postponed due to rain. Since we last saw the Tigers, Tyler Alexander is out with an eblow injury, Michael Pineda broke his middle finger on his pitching hand, Eduardo Rodriguez has a left ribcage sprain, Will Vest was put on the injured list, Austin Meadows has vertigo, and Victor Reyes has a right quad strain. Detroit claimed lefty Sam Howard from the Pirates and Brendon Davis from the Angels. Akil Baddoo was struggling so bad that he got sent to Toledo. Harold Castro has been the most consistent hitter with a .288 average. The Tigers have just twenty-one home runs in forty games. The pitching staff has been decent with a 3.63 ERA as a whole. The Twins will miss Tarik Skubal, who’s been really good. Wily Peralta has allowed just two runs over 16 1/3 innings of work. Alex Lange, Andrew Chafin, and Will Vest have been good in the bullpen. Gregory Soto has locked down seven saves on the year.
The Twins At A Glance- The Twins keep on finding ways to win games and Sunday’s game proved to be another point. They have won six of their last seven games and lead the division by four games over the White Sox. Trevor Larnach returned to the lineup on Sunday and went 0-for-5. Luis Arraez went 5-for-8 in the last two games of the Royals series and has a .336 average on the year. Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton were out of the starting lineup on Sunday after the Twins had won the first two games of the series. Gary Sanchez has smacked three homers and driven in thirteen runs in May. Danny Coulombe is set to begin a rehab assignment in Wichita this week. Josh Winder will get some rest after being placed on the injured list with a sore shoulder. He was pitching through the pain and the Twins want to rest him arm for a bit. The Twins starting staff owns a 3.25 ERA, which is fifth-best in baseball. Joe Smith has not allowed a run over 13 2/3 innings of work. Jhoan Duran hasn’t allowed a run over his past 7 2/3 innings.
What To Watch For- The Twins swept the Tigers in the first series of the year in late-April. Chris Archer is (2-3) with a 3.66 ERA in eleven starts against the Tigers. Miguel Cabrera has homered off him twice. Sonny Gray is (2-1) with a 3.23 ERA in six games versus the Tigers. Jonathan Schoop is 6-for-18 against Gray. Dylan Bundy is (0-2) with a 4.70 ERA in five games against the Tigers. The Tigers have not announced a starter for Wednesday, but that game could be postponed due to rain in the forecast. The Tigers are here in early-August when a makeup game could be played. The Twins were forced to finish the night game with the Dodgers and played a suspended game with the Astros earlier this month. The Twins need to continue to beat up on bad teams within the division this week.

"The Herricanes" Screens at Nashville Film Festival
Tumblr media
Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and make a trail." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) That quote appears at the beginning of the documentary "The Herricanes," which played at the Nashville Film Festival on Monday, October 2, 2023. Olivia Kuan's Mom played football. Olivia thought it was something any girl could do Upon learning how unique her mother's experience was, the young filmmaker decided to document her mother, Basia Haszlakiewicz's, participation in the female football leagues of the seventies. Basia played for the Houston Herricanes in the NWFL (National Women's Football League.) Ms. Kuan's excellent documentary traces the origins of female contact football. She interviewed members of several teams of the seventies. Additionally, she did a great job of labeling each interview subject onscreen. The research and editing team did a terrific job of assembling the interviews into a coherent whole. The archival production team consisted of Kelsey Carr and researcher Chris Morcam. Still photographs and film footage from the games of the seventies take us back in time. The documentary embraces the concept "it's okay for women to be whole people." Another truth the film underscores: "It's important to create a world that welcomes everyone." Interesting timing. Olivia Hill, the first trans-gender woman to hold office in Nashville, was sworn in this very day as one of 5 council-members at large for the Metro area. Meanwhile, the state of Tennessee has banned drag shows in the very recent past. Title IX The entire idea of letting women play contact football grew out of the cultural shift of Title IX in 1972. Title IX said that no school could discriminate on the basis of sex in extra-curricular offerings in public schools. Today's youth don't remember what a sea change this was, but I do. I began teaching junior high school students in 1969 and witnessed the changes of the seventies firsthand. Olivia's mother, Basia Haszlakiewicz, played for the Houston Herricanes in the seventies. To the argument women "don't want to play contact sports" the rebuttal was,"They've never been given the opportunity to see if they want to play football." Today, one of the early supporters of female football runs Gridiron Girls camps. Youngsters who know nothing about Title IX can try football out. Be the Revolution As the film emphasizes, it is not easy to be first. Four National Women's Football League teams were founded in 1974. Among the teams participating over the years were the Toledo Troopers, the Dallas Bluebonnets, the Los Angeles Dandelions, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Shamrocks, the Oklahoma City Dolls, the San Antonio Flames, and the Houston Herricanes. There were initially 14 teams with 3 divisions. The power team was Oklahoma City. In fact, the Oklahoma City Dolls didn't lose a game until their sixth season. The Dolls put a  beat-down on the Herricanes in their first meetings. They averaged 35 points a game and routinely beat the early Herricanes by scores as lopsided as 40 to 0 and/or 56 to 0. The Houston Herricanes But the Herricanes steadily improved and were competitive near the end of the league's existence. The players had to buy their own equipment ($88,15 in Olivia's Mom's case) and it took $50,000 to keep a team afloat. There were more people on the field than in the stands. This did not help the financial situation of the teams. The comment is made in the documentary that parity for women in any sport is yet to be achieved. The documentary made it clear that support for women's contact football in Europe is much stronger, citing the 2019 World Championship in Leeds, England. Teams thrive in countries like Sweden, Finland, New Zealand, Germany and England. As for the original NWFL teams, they began to fold in '78 (Los Angeles Dandelions) and '79 (Toledo Troopers, Oklahoma City Dolls, Houston Herricanes,) Some (the Dallas/Ft. Worth Shamrocks) had folded earlier. The 1979 Championship game was canceled. Today, there are over 100 teams playing, worldwide, and women's sports are increasing in popularity (Natalie Portman is one owner of a woman's team). This interesting and informative documentary---one of the best at the Nashville Film Festival---gives you the history of the genesis of contact football for females. It's a well-done fun documentary. By: Gerry Cantlon, HowlingsHARTFORD, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack released their training camp roster on Sunday, which includes ten hopefuls on Professional Try-Out contracts (PTO).The players on PTOs are goaltender Brad Arvanitis, defensemen Matthew Cairns, Ryan McCleary, Steven MacLean, Billy Constantinou. and Chris Cameron. Also on PTOs are forwards Luka Burzan, Peter Laviolette Jr., James Hardie, and Michal Mrazik. All of them are looking to make the Pack's opening night roster. With more cuts coming by the New York Rangers, the Wolf Pack will start camp with 17 forwards, ten defensemen, and three goaltenders on their training camp roster.Forwards (17): Matej Pekar (Cincinnati-ECHL/Rochester), Turner Elson, Riley Nash (Charlotte-AHL), Anton Blidh (Colorado-AHL/NHL/Hartford), Luka Burzan* (Ft. Wayne-Cincinnati-ECHL/ Cleveland-AHL), Karl Henriksson, Sahil Panwar (Peterborough/Hamilton-OHL), Adam Sýkora (HK Nitra-Slovakia/Harford), Peter Laviolette Jr.* (Wheeling-ECHL like his Rangers' Head Coach, he played Division III college hockey), Ryder Korczak (Moose Jaw-WHL/Hartford-5), Bobby Trivigno, Maxim Barbashev (Moncton-QMJHL), James Hardie* (Mississauga-OHL/Cincinnati-ECHL), Alex Belzile (Laval/Montreal), Drew Worrad (Toledo-ECHL/Grand Rapids), Cristiano DiGiacinto (Hartford/Jacksonville-ECHL), and Michal Mrazik* (Atlanta-ECHL/Tucson).Defensemen (10): Matthew Cairns* (Cincinnati-ECHL/Milwaukee), Connor Mackey (Calgary-NHL/Arizona/Team USA-WC, his father is former NHL'er Dave Mackey), Zach Berzolla (Cincinnati-ECHL/Rochester), Blake Hillman, Seth Barton (Toledo-ECHL/Grand Rapids), Nikolas Brouillard (San Diego), Steven MacLean* (Wilfred Laurier-OUAA/Cincinnati-ECHL), Ryan McCleary* (Portland-WHL, rights traded to Swift Current, and the son of New Haven Senator Trent McCleary), Billy Constantinou* (Wichita/Norfolk/Wichita-ECHL/San Jose-AHL), and Chris Cameron* (Indy-ECHL/Milwaukee).Goaltenders (3): Brad Arvanitis*(Rapid City/Tulsa/Wichita-ECHL/Pensacola-SPHL), Talyn Boyko (Kelowna-WHL), and Olof Lindbom (Jacksonville-ECHL/Hartford).Later, the Rangers assigned seven more players to Hartford. All of them played in Hartford last year. The players are goaltender Dylan Garand, defensemen Matthew Robertson and Brandon Scanlin, and forwards Adam Edström Rögle BK (Sweden-SHL/Hartford), Matt Rempe, Brett Berard (Providence College-HE/Hartford), and Jake Leschyshyn (Las Vegas-New York/Hartford). RANGERS PRESEASON The New York Islanders scored three times in the first period on Saturday night against Hamden-born Jonathan Quick. The Rangers started slowly, but the Islanders didn't. The Islanders got a secondary assist on the first goal from ex-Pack/Ranger Julien Gauthier, battling for a position in Belmont.Jonny Brodzinski, who's getting an extended look by the Rangers, had three shots in the first two periods, including the best-quality shot in the second frame for the Rangers. The Rangers started the third period well. Ex-Pack Ryan Lindgren had a quality bid from the right-wing side. Brennan Othmann then scored the first Rangers' goal at the right side of the net, knocking it down with his right skate and whacking the bouncing biscuit into the cage. The Rangers have been pleased with what they've seen from Othmann to this point but need to decide whether to keep him in a limited role or send him to develop in Hartford, where he'll get first-line minutes and power play time.Another last season Pack, Will Cullye, continued to impress, sparking a late comeback that fell short. The hulking 6'4 forward was net front and swatted the puck out of mid-air and into the net to make it 4-3.The Islanders sealed the deal with an empty-netter for the 5-3 final. EMBERSON CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS The Wolf Pack lost last season's right-handed defenseman Ty Emberson to the San Jose Sharks on a waiver claim on Saturday. The Rangers were forced to put Emberson on waivers as a veteran to get him to Hartford, and the Sharks took him. Emberson was a collegiate teammate and defensive partner of K'Andre Miller and is heading back out West, where he started his career (Tucson), heading to the AHL San Jose Barracuda. The club assigned six others to the Wolf Pack. They included defenseman Connor Mackey, who was signed in the off-season. There are options for forward Adam Sýkora, who played two games at the end of last year. He is 19 years old and could be sent back to junior with the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL), where he was the #1 overall pick in last year's CHL Import Draft, or he could return to his native Slovakia like he did last year, or he could be in Hartford. Also heading to Hartford is Turner Elson, a jack-of-all-trades last season for the Wolf Pack, who will likely have an "A" on his sweater this year. Joining him will be Alex Belzile, a captain in Laval with the Rocket, who spent some time in Montreal with the Canadiens last year because of the severe spate of injuries.Anton Blidh came over to Hartford having a sub-par early part of the season with the Colorado Eagles and then briefly with the Avalanche. However, he became a significant asset helping the Wolf Pack when acquired at the trade deadline. He helped the Pack make the playoffs, ending an eight-year drought, not counting the pandemic year and was rewarded with a two-year deal in the off-season.The Rangers also sent Riley Nash, a point-per-game player with the Charlotte Checkers and a thorn in the side of the Wolf Pack, before joining the team last season. The Rangers have 24 players remaining in camp, meaning depending upon salary-cap numbers, one or two could stay in the Big Apple. PLAYER MOVEMENT Forward Ty Smilanic (Quinnipiac University), who grad-transferred to Wisconsin-Madison (Big 10) last year, was sent to Laval by Montreal after acquiring his rights from the Florida Panthers at last year's Trade Deadline.Vegas sent ex-Pack Mason Geersten to the Henderson Silver Knights.Ex-Pack's Justin Richards and Dustin Tokarski are sent to the Rochester Americans pending clearing waivers.Ex-Pack Tommy Hughes starts his second season as an NHL linesman wearing #65.West Hartford's Jordan Samuels-Thomas (Quinnipiac University) wears #42 and starts his second year as an NHL/AHL referee. The referee with the second most Stanley Cup games officiated games in NHL history at 42 is still the late, great Rangers 1970s TV color commentator, Bill "The Big Whistle" Chadwick. You can still hear Chadwick's foghorn voice and memorable observations.Chadwick was surpassed by two games by Bill McCreary Sr. His cousin is the President/Head coach/GM Billy McCreary of the Danbury Hat Tricks (FPHL).His other hockey claim to fame was a hard, clean, legal hit he made on Wayne Gretzky, then in his second season with Edmonton (NHL) and who had four pro seasons under his belt at the point, two WHA and two NHL.McCreary lived and walked out of the Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton alive but never played another game or NHL shift for Toronto or anyone else.HARTFORD WOLF PACK HOME Read the full article

Inaugural Mopar Event Excites from Start to Finish
Tumblr media
With ambition and anticipation, Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio staged its Inaugural Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram World of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance, Sept. 22-24, 2023 and by all accounts, it was an extraordinary event. Produced and presented by Summit Motorsports Park with Mopar enthusiasts in mind, it featured three days of racing, a Fun Field Car Show, swap meet, car corral, manufacturers’ midway, concert by Trainwreck Country Band and fireworks. “We couldn’t be happier with our Inaugural Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram World of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance,” said Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “Our team spent several months organizing this event, and we all wanted it to be successful, and we are all very grateful that it was. We had a tremendous turnout, and we look forward to an even bigger event next year. The planning starts now.” On Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, the final round of eliminations in Indy Cylinder Head No Box saw Ron Hicks of Leo, Indiana, rip off a .001 reaction time and race to a 12.45 to defeat Cory Blackford of Toledo, Ohio, who stopped the clocks at 9.89. In Box, Randy Chestnut recorded a .007 on the tree and took the win with a 6.13 over Keith Meador, who went through the traps at 6.16. On Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, the final round of eliminations in Koffel’s Place Super Pro put the spotlight on Gene Nagy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cliff Motes of Logan, West Virginia. They inched into the beams before blasting off, and Nagy came out on top with a 4.70 to Motes’ 6.59. In CRT Transmissions Pro, Marcus King of Republic, Ohio and Mike Walwood of Parma, Ohio motored up to the starting line, and King secured the win with a 9.60 elapsed time to Walwood’s 9.85. AA Transmission Hemi Super Stock saw Bob Marshall of Columbus, Ohio and Ron Gallagher of Whitby, Ontario, turn on their red lights, and Marshall won as his light was a bit less red than Gallagher’s. In Mancini Racing Nostalgia Super Stock, Doug Wright of Waterford, Michigan and Mike DeChicco of Ostrander, Ohio put dial-ins on their classic cars before Wright wrapped up the win with a 9.43 to DeChicco’s 11.46. Dan Trainer of Orient, Ohio and Dan Brewer of West Milton, Ohio took the stage for the TTI Exhaust Sportsman final round of eliminations, and Trainer wrapped up the win when Brewer illuminated the red light, with a mere -.005, at the hit. On Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, the final round of eliminations in FireCore 50 Top Gun Full-Bodied saw Jeff Goebel of Stratford, Ontario, flat-foot the pedal on his Duster to a 4.39 for the win over Chris Wheatcraft of Jamestown, Ohio, who clocked a 4.84 in his Demon. In FireCore 50 Top Gun Open-Bodied, Bryan Keller cruised to a 3.70 to earn his trip to the Summit Motorsports Park Winner’s Circle over Keith McLennan, who was .004 at the hit but had to get out of the throttle. Unfortunately, a continuous mist on Sunday evening caused the remaining rounds for other categories to be cancelled.  As an added element to the event, Manufacturers’ Choice Car Show Awards were given during a ceremony on the starting line. The winners were Jerry Imhoff’s 1970 Duster (chosen by Arrington Performance); Rick and Nicole Janosik’s 1973 Challenger (chosen by Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram); Mark Charlton’s 1963 Plymouth Wagon Max Wedge (chosen by Mancini Racing); Pam and Phil Helms’ 1972 Roadrunner Satellite (chosen by Koffel’s Place); Dave Taylor’s 1962 Fury (chosen by CRT Transmissions); Bill Watkins’ 1969 Barracuda (chosen by Moto Lenz Photos); Joe and Pam Mazzola’s 1970 Barracuda (chosen by Indy Cylinder Heads); Paul and Rose Prescott’s 1969 Charger Daytona (chosen by Harland Sharp); Francis McManamon’s 1966 Belvedere II Wagon (chose by FireCore 50) and Randy Slovikosky’s 1978 Trail Duster (chosen by Dornan’s Sales & Service)  As racers and race fans who were at the event over the weekend heard, Bader Jr. has happily announced that the 2nd Annual Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram World of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance will be Sept. 19-22, 2024, and as a new addition, a Gen III Hemi category will be part of the lineup.  “This event has the ingredients to be enormous, and we are eager to see where we can go from here,” said Bader Jr.  Summit Motorsports Park is at 1300 State Route 18, Norwalk, Ohio.
