I love quick-pickling (pickles! tomatoes! peppers of all sorts!) and for a brief moment I was daydreaming about pickling-pickling, with a water bath and everything---but one look at how many different kitchen implements you need killed that dream very extremely dead.

listen gallifrey is a nightmare death planet I have to believe that time lords can be easily converted back into terrifying apex predators if they spend a long enough time outside. like how domesticated pigs will revert to wild ones within a few generations

What markers do you use and what kind paper? The textures are so Delicious
Very basic paper, actually! I find I overthink when using expensive stuff and it makes my sketches worse.
As for markers, I use Copics! Not that this is an endorsement (my first set were a very nice gift), but I have really liked using alcohol based markers over water based ones; lovely texture, good blending, and less streaking. However, the price can be *brutal*, and you can very easily get by with other markers + pencil crayons.

So crochet anon update: I haven't done anything yet! I keep looking at starter kits at Hobby Lobby but haven't bought anything yet. I just haven't been in the mood to start a new project ya know? How is your crochet work going?
i get that!! personally i don't think you need a kit, you get more bang for your buck if you just buy yarn & a hook and start practicing chaining, single, and double crochet because there's literally an unlimited amount of things you can make with just those skills!
but anyway i actually finished my blanket, the one i polled you guys about!! here's a laughably bad picture of it because my camera broke so i tried to take a pic with my old phone from high school fjksjdsj i swear it looks super cute in real life you'll just have to take my word
i've also made 2 scarves, handwarmers, more storage bags made of cut up sheets, and i started working on a sweater and then i had to had to take a break from it, but i'm picking it back up next! 💖

I've made 8 jim lahey-style no knead loaves of bread, and 2 kneaded pizza crusts. Did way better on the second crust. Finally got a dough hook to fit my mixer off of ebay and today I'm trying a brioche 😬 I hope it doesn't suck!
I also did a whole wheat loaf to take camping but it didn't rise correctly and ended up super dense and weird (though not dry somehow?). Bfr got indignant after I called it a fail loaf and insisted on eating as much of it as they could stomach and cradling it in their arms every time I threatened to throw it away. I finally trashed it after they stopped paying attention.

all your merch !!! how long have you been collecting? do you have a favorite item?
asdfghjksks I am so sorry it always takes me forever to answer Asks 😭 I have no idea why but Tumblr literally never gives me any notifications when I get them and I don't even know they're there in my inbox 💀
But anyway, thank you so much 🙏
I guess, technically, I've been collecting (in general) since I was really young - the earliest that I can still remember is being around 8 or 9 years old and obsessively hoarding every single piece of Pokémon merch that I could get my tiny little hands on. I do not know why my parents enabled this, but hey.
I still collect Pokémon stuff, since I still adore the franchise just as much as I did back then. But nowadays I usually stick to the merch that you can find at the real Pokémon Centers. I do have this fat Pikachu from like 1996 though, and he's completely unrecognisable
To be loved is to be changed
Obviously, my biggest collection and "main" collecting target is Obey Me! and OM: Nightbringer merch. At this point, my Satan & Solomon collection has consumed my entire house.
Here's a video tour of my collection
And that's not even the complete collection in full - I still have merch that I've yet to unpack and display, and I still have merch that I bought/ordered online and am waiting to receive when it's delivered in the mail 🥲
Thank you so much for your kind words! Whenever people tell me how much they love my SoloTan Shrine, it makes my entire day ☆
I hope that these silly little guys that I like to fill my house with can continue to make people smile 💚

Don't get cheap colouring books from Amazon!
I have a sneaky suspicion that they're AI Generated sh*t.
For example:
This book looks great,... Nothing seems untoward,...
Then, upon closer inspection of the pages inside, there are all sorts of weird mistakes.
But this is the biggest mistake.
Just what the f*ck is going on with these donkeys?!

"you're not special !!!" I'm actually part of the very small amount of people who bothered to go watch Scott Pilgrim in theaters - not even just once but three whole times - instead of letting it dramatically flop so... speak for yourself

A big dumb mech that only the kings of big dumb mechs could love. The annihilator is less a mech and more a vaguely mobile turret emplacement and I both love and hate it for that. Credit where credit's due this thing has a hell of a whollop that it packs but with a speed of 2/3 most assault mechs comfortably outrun it in reverse gear so good luck ever getting to actually shoot stuff.

cecily's favorite hobby
She's surprisingly into gardening! She has a small garden inside the walls of the castle she grabbed for herself, where she grows various flowers. Was into growing medicinal herbs for a while, to trade for stuff like cloth and tools, but nowadays that's not really how medicine gets produced so she's not doing that as much.
She also makes her own clothes and stuff, but to her that's less of a hobby and just the only way she's ever gotten her clothes. Due to her long life doing handicrafts she's quite good with her hands, even if it rarely comes up
