I'm doing alright! Tired though lol
Lord, so am I! I don’t get any help around here! I mean sure, Milly does her share, but have you ever tried cleaning an entire kitchen AND the living room while your sister is being flirted with by Victor Frankenstein himself?! I know, I shouldn’t refer to Henry that way … but it’s really funny.

Now that classes are back in session, I’m quite sure that I’m going to need a trip to the lake house soon with the amount of work Julian’s assigned.

It's a very Greek idea, and a very profound one. Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it. And what could be more terrifying and beautiful, to souls like the Greeks or our own, than to lose control completely? To throw off the chains of being for an instant, to shatter the accident of our mortal selves? Euripides speaks of the Maenads: head thrown I back, throat to the stars, "more like deer than human being." To be absolutely free! One is quite capable, of course, of working out these destructive passions in more vulgar and less efficient ways. But how glorious to release them in a single burst! To sing, to scream, to dance barefoot in the woods in the dead of night, with no more awareness of mortality than an animal! These are powerful mysteries. The bellowing of bulls. Springs of honey bubbling from the ground. If we are strong enough in our souls we can rip away the veil and look that naked, terrible beauty right in the face; let God consume us, devour us, unstring our bones. Then spit us out reborn.

okay, so personally I like The Secret History because it seems like literally everyone’s decision making skills are in the negative numbers and they’re so damn pretentious it’s funny-
BUT
I also love to see all the people on tumblr who actually, unironically love this book. It’s just nice to see people being excited about something that makes them happy, which is the main reason why I occasionally look through the TSH tag
all this to say: to the TSH community on tumblr:
why exactly do you think some algorithm decided you were the ideal target market for bulk gmail accounts?
I mean what exactly would y’all use them for??

how do you plan on treating my sister moving forward? -Charles
Like the angel she is. I adore her very much as I’m sure you can tell. She’s beautiful, strong, talented, and gentle.. How could I do anything but return the love she has for me and the poor fools around me but give it back to her?

“me miserable, which way shall i fly infinite wrath and infinite despair? which way i fly is hell ; myself am hell ; and in the lowest deep a lower deep, still threat’ning to devour me, opens wide, to which the hell i suffer seems a heaven.”
