Can Anon come back and tell us what exactly happened with Baroness Bruck?

The Wailers are having another completely normal one - using Princess Anne’s birthday to diss The King. Anne would be the first person to be mortified at this tweet below.

If Baroness Bruck said something even remotely similar, they’d never stop wailing about “spreading hate”. When the Sussex Squad say Harry should be King, they wailing about “hate” and “people not understanding how the line of succession works”. But if they do it, it’s a-ok. Ignoring the fact that Anne has never faced a fraction of the scrutiny or media manufactured bs that Charles has. You think if he was the first Royal to have a criminal record (like Anne is for her dog’s attack), the media ever let us forget that?

I actually hate how this account is shady towards William all the time. What was wrong with Williams statement? Of he said it was racist? Let’s say that was wrong. That’s the difference here? "Sorel, enigma del siglo XX, parece un injerto de Proudhon, enigma del XIX", escribía Daniel Halévy en su prólogo al libro de Pierre Andreu: Sorel, nuestro maestro (1953). Enigma, en efecto, que el doctrinario edifica como un gigante, con las orejas pegadas a las sienes, la nariz chata, los ojos claros y la barba blanca. Enigma de un socialista encarnizado encantado con la Revolución rusa, simpatizante de la Acción Francesa, admirador de Renan, Hegel, Bergson, Maurras, Marx y Mussolini. Georges Sorel nació en Cherburgo, el 2 de noviembre de 1847. Es doblemente normando, hijo de dos de las más antiguas familias emigradas a la Galia desde Escandinavia en la alta Edad Media. Su tío paterno, Albert Sorel, sería el historiador "oficial" de Napoleón III.

Politécnico, ingeniero de puentes y caminos, Sorel únicamente se consagra a los problemas sociales a partir de 1982. Su obra puede sintetizarse en un solo libro: Reflexiones sobre la violencia, en el cual sintetiza lo más sustancial de anterior producción: Las ilusiones del progreso, Sobre la Iglesia y el Estado, Sobre la utilidad del pragmatismo, La descomposición del marxismo, De Aristóteles a Marx, La ruina del antiguo mundo, El proceso de Sócrates, etc. Publicado por vez primera en 1908, Reflexiones sobre la violencia es una obra que nunca dejado de reeditarse y de ser leída y meditada, por Lenin y por Mussolini, por Maurras y por Charles De Gaulle, por Oliveira Salazar y por Mao Tse Tung. El libro fue pensado y construido para servir de obra base del sindicalismo revolucionario. Hostil al socialismo parlamentario y a Jaurés, al que acusa de nutrirse de la ideología burguesa, Georges Sorel les opone lo que él denomina como "nueva escuela". Sorel concibe la huelga como la forma esencial de la reivindicación social. Es por medio de la huelga general como la sociedad será dividida en facciones enemigas y será destruido el Estado burgués. La huelga es "la manifestación más brillante de la fuerza individualista en las masas sublevadas". La huelga implica la violencia. A la inversa de los socialistas de su tiempo (excepción hecha de Proudhon), Sorel no opone el trabajo a la violencia. Rechaza glosar sobre "el deseo de paz de los trabajadores". La violencia es para él un acto de guerra: "Un acto de pura lucha, semejante a la de los ejércitos en campaña", escribe. "Esta asimilación de la huelga a la guerra es decisiva –indica Claude Polin en el prólogo a la nueva edición de Reflexiones sobre la violencia–, porque todo lo que afecta a la guerra se produce sin odio y sin espíritu de venganza: en la guerra no se mata al vencido; no se suponen inofensivas las consecuencias que los sinsabores puedan provocar en el campo de batalla". Ello explica por qué Sorel rechaza la "violencia vengativa" de los revolucionarios de 1793: "Nunca debe confundirse la violencia con las brutalidades sanguinarias que no conducen a nada". Al principio fue la acción Recogiendo la distinción clásica entre guerra "justa" y guerra "injusta", opone la violencia burguesa a la violencia proletaria. Esta última posee, a sus ojos, una doble virtud. No solamente debe asegurar una revolución futura, sino que es también el único medio del que disponen las naciones europeas, "entontecidas por el humanitarismo", para retomar su antigua energía. La lucha de clases es, pues, un enfrentamiento de voluntades firmes, pero no ciegas. La violencia deviene la manifestación de una voluntad. Al mismo tiempo, ejerce una especie de función moral: produce un estado de espíritu "épico". "La violencia –declara Sorel a su amigo Jean Variot– es una doctrina intelectual: la voluntad de los cerebros poderosos que saben lo que quieren. La verdadera violencia es necesaria para llegar al fondo de las ideas" (A propósito de Georges Sorel, 1935). Sorel había aplaudido las palabras de Goethe: "Al principio fue la acción". Para él, el hombre que actúa es siempre superior al hombre que soporta: "La violencia verdadera hace aparecer al primer plano el orgullo del hombre libre". Para restituir la energía al mundo actual se necesita un "mito", es decir un tema que no es ni verdadero ni falso pero que actúa poderosamente sobre el espíritu moviliza e incita a la acción. Georges Sorel veía en la Prusia del siglo XIX la heredera de la Roma antigua. Encuentra, para cantar las "virtudes prusianas", un tono que no deja de evocar a Moller Van den Bruck (Der preussische Stil). "Sorel, el artesano, hace culto del trabajo bien hecho –comenta Claude Polin–, y el trabajo bien hecho debe constituir un fin en sí, independientemente de los beneficios a retirar. Este desinterés es también el propio de la violencia. En el fondo del pensamiento de Sorel se encuentra la intuición de que todo trabajo es una lucha, y de que el trabajo nunca está bien hecho si no se entiende como lucha. Esta idea reanuda la intuición del carácter esencialmente prometeico del trabajo. Todo verdadero trabajo es una transformación de las cosas que comporta la necesidad de transformarse a sí mismo y a los otros consigo. "Paso a paso, Sorel termina por denunciar la democracia ("verdadera dictadura de la incapacidad"), conjugando los acentos de un Maurras y de un Bakunin. La dictadura del proletariado le parece, a la vez, un engaño y un señuelo: "Se necesita ser muy ingenuo para suponer que las gentes que sacan provecho de la dictadura demagógica abandonarán fácilmente sus ventajas". De paso, denuncia el rol de vanguardia que pretende realizar el bolchevismo intelectual: "Todo el devenir del socialismo reside en el desarrollo autónomo de los sindicatos obreros" (Materiales para una teoría del proletariado). "Marx no siempre estuvo bien inspirado. –prosigue- En sus escritos se encuentran no pocas tonterías procedentes de los utopistas". Esta concepción de la acción se encuentra en completa oposición con las teorías "vanguardistas" (el trotskismo, por ejemplo). Pero la podemos redescubrir en las proposiciones del sindicalismo revolucionario y del anarco-sindicalismo. Finalmente, si Sorel defiende al proletariado con tal encarnizamiento no es por sentimentalismo, como Zola, ni por un gusto pequeño-burgués por la culpabilidad, ni mucho menos porque así daría pruebas de una "conciencia de clase", sino porque está convencido de que en el seno de la sociedad burguesa, únicamente el pueblo puede todavía encontrar esa energía que las clases dirigentes han perdido. Consciente de las "ilusiones del progreso", constata que las sociedades, como los hombres, son mortales. A esta fatalidad él opone una voluntad de vivir, una de cuyas manifestaciones es la violencia. En la actualidad Sorel denunciaría toda la sociedad vendida por los "maestros" de la contestación. "Marcuse representaría a sus ojos –escribe Polin–, el ejemplo típico del hombre degenerado por la creencia beata en el progreso, frustrado con el progreso porque no ve cumplida ninguna de sus expectativas, incapaz de poner su esperanza en algo más que en el progreso exacerbado, radicalizado, en el sueño de una abundancia completamente automática que aportaría en primer lugar la felicidad en cuanto sea posible satisfacer las pasiones más elementales, incapaz, en una palabra, de comprender que la fuente del mal está en el corazón del hombre desvirilizado por la fe económica". El nombre de la vieja Antioquia A partir de 1907, Georges Sorel se convirtió en el artesano de un acercamiento entre los antidemócratas de derecha y de izquierda. El órgano de esta conjunción es la publicación mensual Revue critique des idées et des livres, en la cual el nacionalista Georges Valois publica los resultados de su encuesta sobre La monarquía y la clase obrera. En 1910 aparece la revista La Cité française. Después, entre 1911 y 1913, L´Indépendance. En estas publicaciones aparecen las firmas de Georges Sorel, Jean Variot, Edouard Berth, Daniel Halévy, pero también la de los hermanos Tharaud, de René Benjamín, Maurice Barrès y Paul Bourget. En 1913, el periodista Edouard Berth, autor de Las fechorías de los intelectuales, saluda a Maurras y Sorel como "los dos maestros de la regeneración francesa y europea". Pero, en septiembre de 1914, Sorel le escribe: "Estamos en una era que bien podría caracterizarse por el nombre de la vieja Antioquia. Renan describió perfectamente esta metrópolis de cortesanos, charlatanes y mercaderes. Tendremos el placer de ver a Maurras condenado por el Vaticano, lo que sería un justo castigo a sus incorrecciones. ¿A quien podría interesar un partido realista en una Francia únicamente interesada en restaurar la vida muelle de Antioquia?" "A Maurras –explica el sociólogo Gaetan Pirou–, Sorel le reprocha ser demasiado demócrata; reproche que, a primera vista, puede parecer paradójico. En realidad, Sorel quería decir que Maurras, positivista e intelectualista, no había repudiado la democracia mas que en sus aspectos políticos y no en sus fundamentos filosóficos". Nacional-revolucionarios Sorel ejercerá tanta influencia en Barrès y Péguy como en Lenin. Éste último, en materialismo y empirocriticismo, le denunciará no obstante como un "espíritu desordenado". Más que Francia –observa Alexandre Croix en La revolución proletaria–, Italia sería la "tierra prometida del sorelismo". Sorel ejercerá una poderosísima influencia en la escuela sindicalista dirigida por el futuro ministro italiano de trabajo (entre 1920 y 1922), Arturo Labriola. Éste, en 1903 traduce El futuro socialista de los sindicatos. Uno de sus lugartenientes, Enrico Leone, redactó, en 1906, el prólogo de la primera edición italiana de Reflexiones sobre la violencia, publicado con el título de Lo sciopero generale e la violenza ("La huelga general y la violencia"). Mediante esta traducción, Sorel alargará su influencia a Vilfredo Pareto, Benedetto Croce, Giovanni Gentile y (por la mediación de Hubert de Lagardelle) sobre Benito Mussolini. En Alemania, el sorelismo encuentra una especie de prolongación en las corrientes nacional-revolucionarias y nacional-comunistas que se manifestaron a partir de 1920 (cfr. Michael Freund. Georges Sorel und der revolutionäre Konservatismus, 1932). Cuando murió Sorel, en 1922, el entonces monárquico Georges Valois (futuro fundador del primer partido fascista fuera de Italia), en la revista de la Acción Francesa, y el socialista Robert Louzon, en Le Socialiste, le rindieron sendos homenajes que asombran por su semejanza a quien alcanza a leerlos. Pocas semanas más tarde, Benito Mussolini, justo después de tomar el poder con la marcha sobre Roma, declaraba al corresponsal en Italia del diario madrileño ABC: "Es a Sorel a quien más le debo".
