While I agree that Hudson’s plan has the best chance of success…that’s not saying much when the odds are in the single digits in the first place.

Chapter 152 summary: If you seriously thought that they would have done the planning off-page and then jumped into actually defeating Cyrus… HA. You’ve clearly been reading a different book than I have. 

They literally stand around for four pages and discuss their plan. It involves Remy punching the magical barriers that the evil witches put up. 

Chapter 153

At this point Fumiko is the physical manifestation for two things:

Incompetent cops who do the bare minimum yet are still hired and kept

Celebrity fandoms and the types of sexually violent, apathetic and horrible fans in every one of them

Her purpose in the story is just that, the physical manifestations of two major problems, who also represents the current state of Public Safety and the Chainsaw Man church. What she does in the canon (how she interacts with people like Denji) is pointless though, and her actual involvement in the plot makes her feel less like part of the main/side cast and more like a cockroach that's waiting to be crushed by the main/side cast's shoes.
