Post on my dash making me think that maybe the reason I prefer my ships to be healthy and happy is because my childhood and a big chunk of my adolescence was spent with abusive people, including one toxic romantic couple who stayed together even though it made no sense and made everyone else around them (read: me) miserable too 🤔

WHY they married each other i do not understand #but like you don't know hell until you're living in a house w/ ur abusive biomom #your toxic older sister & her abusive baby daddy & their out of control toddlers #& you are 13 & trying to explain to your sister #who btw is 21 or 22 #that her baby daddy's lips have lipstick smeared all over them #and are not chapped bc he was ''hiding in the woods from the cops all night'' #and so she should kick his ass to the curb #and she's like ''but i need him!!'' but also she goes on several hour rants abt how she is SO DONE #and he leaves to go do coke at 2am and she's pissed at him for that bc CPS could take their kids #that she DOES NOT take care of and YOU aged 13 are most responsible #and also there is NO FOOD bc your abusive biomom spent all the money on makeup and other bullshit #there WAS a packet of ramen but the ants infested that #and when you told your sister you want to leave to live w/ your dad she convinced you #that your biomom's relatives would murder him if you did that so you'd stay there with her #Hell!!!! On!!!! Earth!!!!! #. . . anyway so. there was a lot of violence in my childhood & adolescence #so maybe that. colored my fiction preferences a little.

Chapter 21 Sneak Peak:

Caroline shuffled closer, placing a hand on Tyler’s cheek and turning his face towards her. “But it doesn’t matter how many times I dance with Klaus because I-” 

Come on, Forbes. They were only three little words. And you told Elena you’d try, didn’t you? 

Just three little words.

Caroline swallowed.

“Because I love you.”

And then she kissed him.

He kissed her back, just as tenderly, a hand rising to rest on her waist, and for a beautiful moment, Caroline finally believed they were on the same page. That she had finally done something right. But when they broke away, Caroline smiled, waiting for him to say those three little words back.

He didn’t.

“There’s probably some punch left. And I never did learn the charleston.” He said with a smile of his own, jerking his head towards the punch tables on the other side of the gym hall.

He didn’t say he loved her, like the night of her birthday. In fact, she realised he hadn’t said those words since then, not even when they’d reunited in the woods. He’d just said he missed her.

Caroline’s face fell.

“Yeah.” She said, a horrid ball in her throat. She forced on her best Miss Mystic smile before he could notice. “That sounds great.”

Tyler stood, already turning to make his way down. A pit in her stomach, Caroline let the facade crack, only for a moment, while she inhaled a shaky breath. 

They were only three little words. It didn’t matter, not really.

Or that’s what she told herself.

He led them in a quiet song, humming with the quiet pitter-patter of the rain behind him. The two were so close to each other that their breaths mingled and Scar had whispered something Y/n couldn't hear. 

"Come again Honeydew?" Y/n asked and they felt Scar's grip on them tighten just slightly 

"Can I kiss you?" He asked softly

His eyes were so unsure and kind and Y/n could feel her heart ache at the thought of him not kissing them. The rain fell around them as their gentle swaying stopped and Y/n reached up to gently cup his face and say 

"Of Course. Even if you didn't ask I would love a kiss from any one of you guys." 

The man lit up and pressed a gentle kiss to Y/n before slowing pulling back, his breathing shaky as if trying to restrain himself but after two seconds he smashed his lips against Y/n's again as he quickly dragged his hand up to cup their face, a longing sigh leaving his lips as he kissed the life out of them. When they finally pulled apart, they were gasping for breath as their foreheads leaned against each other. 

"Holy Shit do that again," Y/n whispered and he laughed before indulging Y/n to their hearts desire
