Sometimes a family is a potentially immortal space pirate, a 24 year old who literally doesn't have a family, a 25 year old who was part of a cult for a decade (the 24 year old was also part of the cult), a 12 year old who's one of the last of his species, and an 8 year old who needs therapy, badly.

“How could Louis and Lestat ever forgive Armand for killing Claudia?”
With all due respect: My sibling in Christ, do you have any idea how many lives Armand has ruined?  And I mean vampire lives, not even touching the human lives.  Even the villain of the final trilogy, most of whose fledglings were kidnapped and brainwashed by Armand to be part of his cult, knew that if he wanted vengeance, he’d have to get in a very, very long line.  Armand is notorious for killing any weaker vampire who comes into his territory because if you don’t, there’s too much competition for prey.  Also, young vampires tend to be chaotic and power-trippy and just as territorial.  Louis and Claudia were pretty damn lucky they weren’t killed as soon as they entered Paris tbh.  I go back and forth on whether Claudia was marked for death whether Armand fell for Louis or not, whether Louis chose Armand or not.  If nothing else, she was a vampire in the body of a 5-year-old.  She couldn’t survive on her own.  Vampires like that are usually killed, no questions, so they don’t suffer or become a burden to anyone else.
Armand is not the only vampire who does this, he’s just really fucking consistent with it and figures he’s going to hell anyway, so he doesn’t hesitate for the sake of conscience.  And again, that’s not getting into how many he forced into his cult back in the day.
But also Lestat never blamed him to begin with.  Louis did, but he didn’t forgive Armand until after Armand made some significant changes.  And he learned this is just kind of the reality of vampires.  Vampires are territorial and killers by nature.  Anyone under 100 years old stumbling into a new city with old vampires already there will probably be culled.  This is one reason Armand refused to make Daniel a vampire for so long.
So the way Lestat sees it, and the way Louis comes to see it (especially as he benefits from Armand protecting him in this way in later books), they let Claudia into an enclosure with a “jungle wildcat among revenants.”  To them, Armand wasn’t malicious so much as they were negligent.  Not saying it’s right, just saying this is how they think of it.
I’d say they also understood that Armand was still in his “recovering from being brainwashed into believing he must be evil in order to serve God” phase, but really, Armand doesn’t stop killing trespassing fledglings until the vampires have some other form of government to control the chaos.  Even after he passes from Lawful Evil to Lawful Neutral.
(Side note: you couldn’t make an alignment chart with AR vampires because the entire top row would be empty.)

I should post this here too, shouldn't I?
Explanations under the cut
Astarion: Thief of Blood.  Along with the obvious fact that he steals literal blood, his initial plan is to manipulate the player into liking him, “stealing” a bond with them for his protection.  And that was basically his m.o. for 200 years.  If he Ascends, he would turn into a Lord of Blood
Shadowheart: Maid of Heart.  I imagine that she’s spent most of her life inverted as a Bard of Mind, allowing her mind to be destroyed by the Sharrans.  The Maid of Heart is, well, made of their own identity.  It’s a creation class, and Shart is spending the rest of her life creating herself.  If she became a Dark Justiciar, she would remain a Bard of Mind
Gale: Mage of Light.  The active understanding class and the knowledge aspect fit the resident nerd of the group, don’t you think?  He’s probably the smartest party member (in terms of academic/theoretic knowledge) and uses that knowledge to power his magic.  In addition, Light is associated with relevancy and acknowledgement and boy oh boy was he desperate for Mystra’s.  If he becomes the God of Ambition, he would turn into a Lord of Light
Lae’zel: Prince of Breath.  I know the general understanding of Prince is that they destroy the aspect, but I understand them as also being able to destroy through use of their aspect.  Lae’zel is destroying Vlaakith’s empire by freeing the githyanki people and leading a revolution.  Maybe a bit of a stretch, but I was trying to avoid overlap for the origin characters.  I could also see her as a Knight or Prince of Blood
Karlach: Knight of Rage.  She’s a berserker, she fights by utilizing rage.  And the popular idea that Knights start out lacking in their aspect is pretty apt too, she’s an extremely positive person while Rage is all about more negative emotions.  I think she might ghost her inverted class- Rogue of Hope- but never fully inverts, just toys with distributing hope and positivity.
Wyll: Heir of Hope.  I fully admit Wyll kinda got the short end of the stick as he was the last character I did, but I do think it fits.  Heirs passively manipulate or inspire their aspect in others, and Wyll fights for the people as the Blade of Frontiers, inspiring Hope in those he protects.  I could also see him as a Blood aspect, as so much of his story deals with his bonds- to his father, Mizora, Baldur’s Gate and the people of the Coast
Minthara: Maid of Doom.  This is where I stopped caring about overlap lol.  Minthara is your most “evil” companion and one who approves of killing people in your way.  Doom was a pretty clear choice for her, being the Aspect of death, but also dealing with systems and authority, like the Cult of the Absolute and her place in its hierarchy.  As for her class, Maids create their aspect and make it a core part of themselves.  Minthara has been surrounded by death and hierarchies her whole life, having been born to a high ranking noble house in Menzoberranzan, leading to them being a very core part of her being.  I can also see her vacillating wildly between Maid of Doom and her inverse, Bard of Life, because she’s just that chaotic.  They both deal with death, but the Bard is a bit more passive about it, allowing others (the Cult, the player) to take lead on the killing
Halsin: Knight of Breath.  Again running with the “Knights lack their Aspect” theory, Halsin starts the game lacking the freedom he desires.  He’s literally imprisoned by the goblins, but he’s also constrained by his role as Archdruid, almost toying with his inverse of Rogue of Blood.  He craves the freedom of nature and jumps at the opportunity to gain it.  You could also argue wildshape is a form of freedom (both of form and of self) that he uses to fight.  There’s also his talk of polyamory and how he doesn’t want to be tied down.  Freedom is a recurring thing with the guy
Jaheira: Witch of Life.  Life is a pretty clear choice for a druid, as Life deals with flora and fauna.  Witch is the active manipulation class, and Jaheira is introduced manipulating plants to hold the player.  Additionally, she’s shown nurturing life by caring for various children in Baldur’s Gate, sorta like how Feferi took care of various marine animals
Minsc: Knight of Hope.  Okay this was the hardest one for me because I don’t fully get Minsc.  I’ve only played BG3, I don’t know him from any other games or comics or whatever.  But from what I do know, he was obviously one of the more offensive and active classes and Knight seems to fit him best.  He utilizes Hope- usually in the form of others’ trust in him- to fight.  Without that trust, he wouldn’t be as effective, he always fights best with his companions.  He’s also just a happy, up-beat guy, and Hope is largely focused on positive emotions
Boo: Lord of Doom.  BOO DECIDES THE FATE OF ALL.  HE HAS ULTIMATE SAY OVER LIFE AND DEATH

LESHY AND HIS YELLOW CAT, OTTO ARE TAKING OVERRRRR
Just picture this absolutely chaotic evil worm creature that everyone in the cult groud just naturally steers away from since he arrived. Eating their crops, tearing up monuments and decorations, hissing and baring his teeth at anyone who got too close.
And eventually he meets this yellow cat that goes into a full investigation to find out who is eating his crops only to realize that bush worm cryptic was the culprit.
Our dear Otto was never much of a fighter, but he figured it was better tl be on the worm’s nice side. If he even had one at all so, instead of just grabbing his shovel and bonking this dude away, he gave him some veggies.
First few times he definitely had to pull his hand back quick or the mf would’ve bitten it off, but they eventually got used to each other.
Leshy started being more mindful of what he ate and about messing up the crops, and Otto could focus better when it came to his farming and being useful in his community.
Probably evolves into a feral worm guard dog situation for Otto, but ayyy he got his pal and a nice day, he’s fulfilled.
Leshy likes his smell. Cat-y and earthy. Warm. Its nice, he likes it. Easy to recognize, easy to find.
They get along just fine 🙌✨

Demon Lord, Aldinach
Tumblr media
Image © Paizo Publishing
[Sponsored by @vonbaghager . While doing my research for this entry, I noticed something interesting. Aldinach and Areshkagal are enemies in Pathfinder. Aldinach is the name of an Egyptian demon, but looks like a Mesopotamian scorpion-man, whereas Areshkagal gets her name from the Sumerian Ereshkigal but looks like an Egyptian sphinx. Maybe that's why they hate each other.]
Demon Lord, Aldinach CR 28 CE Outsider (extraplanar)
This creature is a golden scorpion the size of a house, except that her head is that of a bald, fanged human woman. Her claws are enormous, made out of blood-red crystal. A mass of seething scorpions crawls along her back and sides.
Aldinach, She of Six Venoms, Lord of Scorpions CE female demon lord of sand, scorpions and thirst Domains Animal, Chaos, Evil, Sun Subdomains Demon, Feather, Fur, Light Favored Weapon kukri Unholy Symbol gold scorpion with sand dripping from its claws Worshipers girtabilus, chaotic phaerimm, torturers Minions fiendish earth elementals, giant scorpions For information on Aldinach’s obedience and boons, see the Book of the Damned
Aldinach is the demon lord of sand, scorpions and thirst. She rules the Sea of Whispering Sands, a layer of nearly infinite deserts she stole from her sister Areshkagal. and continues to defend it from Areshkagal’s servitors. Aldinach has the infinite patience of an ambush predator, and the persistence of the constant erosion created by a sandstorm. She believes that she will outlast the Faceless Sphinx and maintain her rule through sheer tenacity.  That Areshkagal has yet to give up is a source of frustration, but not an insurmountable one, and the two demon lords continue to clash in proxy wars via their cults and servitors.
Aldinach usually opens any confrontation by summoning a supernaturally deadly sandstorm. Anyone who resists being immediately flensed is then met in direct combat. She of Six Venoms, as the title suggests, is a master of poisons. Her venom and any created by a spell she casts ignores almost all immunity to poison, and she can tailor the effects of her venom in order to ruin the bodies and minds of her enemies. The infinite swarm of scorpions clinging to her is an extension of her body, and quickly shred and envenom anyone who dares to strike her.
Aldinach’s worshipers tend to be as determined and patient as the Lord of Scorpions herself. The tortures of Aldinach include envenomation and thirst, neither of which are typically fast deaths, and cultists will repeatedly heal their victims and give them just enough water to live, extending the torment to weeks or months. One of Aldinach’s goals is the expansion of deserts, the better to create hard, dangerous environments to breed hard, dangerous souls. Some of her subtlest worshipers masquerade as aqueduct engineers or farming specialists, claiming to be able to eke more out of lean land but in reality spreading the desert.

Special Abilities Command Vermin (Su) Aldinach can command creatures of the vermin type to do her bidding as a move action, either via using his ability to speak with vermin or via telepathy. This affects vermin within 300 feet (Will DC 36 negates). This functions like mass suggestion, but can affect mindless creatures. Aldinach can suggest obviously harmful or suicidal acts (though non-mindless creatures gain a +10 bonus on their saving throws against these suggestions). The commanded course of activity can have a duration of up to 1 hour. If Aldinach issues a new command to a creature, the previous command is discarded. Once a creature succeeds at its save against this effect, it is immune to further commands from Aldinach for 24 hours. The save DC is Charisma-based. Crystalline Claws (Ex) Aldinach’s claw attacks threaten a critical hit on a roll of 19-20, and deals x3 damage on a successful critical hit. Flensing Storm (Su) As a standard action, Aldinach can conjure a supernatural sandstorm at a range of up to 300 feet. The storm fills a sphere in a 40 foot radius, blocking vision as a fog cloud, and dealing 10d6 points of slashing damage and 1d4 Constitution damage a round. A successful DC 36 Reflex save negates the Constitution damage and halves the slashing damage. As a move action, Aldinach can move the storm up to 60 feet. Aldinach can see through her own flensing storms without penalty. A flensing storm can only be dispersed with wind of hurricane force or stronger, and lasts for 2 minutes. Aldinach can use this ability at will, but can only have one flensing storm in existence at a time. The save DC is Charisma based. Poison (Ex) Sting or swarm skin—injury; save Fort DC 41; duration 1/round for 6 rounds; damage 2d4 Str, Dex, Int, Wis or Cha damage or 1d6 Con damage; cure 3 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution based. She of Six Venoms (Su) Aldinach can change what ability score her poison deals damage to as an immediate action. She can change the ability damage for her swarm skin ability separately. Any poison damage dealt by Aldinach ignores all poison immunity except from a mythic source. Speak with Vermin (Sp) This functions as speak with animals, except that Aldinach can communicate with creatures of the vermin type. Summon Demons and Scorpions (Sp) When Aldinach uses her summon demons ability, she may also summon giant scorpions of any size with the demonic vermin or half-fiend templates. Swarm Skin (Su) Any creature that touches Aldinach with a melee weapon, natural weapon, touch attack or unarmed strike must succeed a DC 33 Reflex save or take 5d6 points of slashing and piercing damage and be exposed to her poison. Manufactured weapons with the reach property do not endanger their wielder in this way. The save DC is Dexterity based. Swift Sting (Ex) Aldinach can make a single sting attack as a swift action. This is in addition to all of the attacks she makes as a full attack action.

Not sure if you've been asked this before, but how does Hellenism view the afterlife these days? Are we still mere mortal souls doomed to eternity in Hades or, as in spiritualism and Buddhism, do souls still roam the world, seeking redemption and evolution, otherwise they are reborn again?
Hey, Nonny!
In my experience, it varies vastly from person to person. I've met worshippers who believe that nothing at all happens when we die and worshippers who believe we get to choose our own afterlives. I think it's up to us to decide what we believe. No one knows for certain what happens when we die, and as scary as that can be, it gives us the opportunity to find the answer on our own.
In general, however, the belief of The Underworld in Greek polytheism does exist. There are three levels to The Greek Underworld - Tartarus, where the shitheads go; The Asphodelian Fields, where your average person goes; Elysium, where heroes (whatever that entails) go. There is no rulebook on how to get into which afterlife, but many ancient Greek cults formed around the idea that there was some kind of secret guaranteed ticket into Elysium.
In the Orphic belief system, souls get a chance at reincarnation, despite going to The Underworld. I've met many worshippers who agree with this idea. From my understanding, in Orphism, reincarnation is a choice, but I'm genuinely not sure because I'm not too educated on this belief system.
I would like to say, though, that going to The Underworld is no damnation. Your soul isn't "doomed" if it goes there. Most people (hence, "your average person") go to The Asphodelian Fields - a beautiful field of flowers where you can spend your afterlife resting, relaxing, and being at peace. Tartarus, which can be compared to the Christian Hell, is where the truly heinous people go - the murderers, the genocidal maniacs, those who go out of their way to bring misery to others. Most people don't go to Tartarus; you have to be a special kind of evil to end up there. I would say an afterlife spent roaming beautiful fields of flowers and reconnecting with loved ones is one that is worth the wait after spending a lifetime in the chaotic world we live in.
I hope this answered your question, although I didn't share my personal beliefs regarding the afterlife. If you're curious about those, you're welcome to ask! If not, I hope this answer provided you with the information you were looking for. Take care, Nonny, and have a good day/night! 🧡

Wednesday Fanfic Concept - Summer Road Trip
Summary: If Wednesday had to choose between listening to her parents passionate declarations of love, at best, or a road trip with Tanaka and Divina to free Enid from boot camp and Bianca from her mother she would choose the lesser of two evils and hit the road.
Concept:
So yeah, Yoko & Divina turn up at the Addams manor, with some of Yoko's servant ghouls, chat with the parents for a bit, irritating Wednesday.
Then when she's alone reveal their 'road trip' is actually a cover for busting Enid out of a 'Lycan Legionary' training camp & Bianca from her mothers cult community.
Wednesday arms herself and grudgingly joins the duo and after breaking the two from their abusive circumstances the group decides to stay on the move and make an even of it.
IE, going on an unhinged road trip where everyone gets to pick 1 'event'.
Wednesday is mostly there cos its a good excuse to stay away from her parents being annoying and her chosen activity is breaking into an aquarium to release a Kraken with the help of Divina & Bianca.
Enid & Yoko - Watching: Release the kraken!!!
Everyone else get's one but they are also obviously being pursued by Wednesday's stalker, Enid's mother or some other Lycan type foe, and whoever Bianca's mother sends after her leading to chaotic battles in bars and exploding cars.
I like to imagine a mid point of the story opening with Eugene stumbling out into his families living room in the early morning hours for breakfast.
Only to see a vampire hanging from the ceiling, two sirens passed out on different couches, a 9 foot werewolf curled up on the floor and Wednesday sitting at the breakfast table like this is all normal.

Loki Deity Guide
Loki’s mythology is not as chaotic as you may think…
It’s even more chaotic than that!
Tumblr media
Who is Loki?
Often referred to as the Trickster God of the Aesir, Loki is actually the son of Fárbauti a giant, or a Jötunn, and Laufey, who was said to be a goddess. Though Loki is often referred to using he/him pronouns, can change his shape and gender at will.
While many of the old stories involving Loki paint him in a negative light, the same cannot be said for Loki’s modern followers.
Parents and Siblings
Fárbauti (Father)
Laufey (Mother), sometimes referred to as Nál.
Býleistr (Brother)
Helblindi (Brother)
Lovers or Partners
Sigyn (Wife)
Angrboda (Lover)
Children
Nari or Narfi (from Sigyn)
Hel (From Angrboda)
Jörmungandr (From Angrboda)
Fenrir (From Angrboda)
Sleipnir (From Svadilfari)
Epithets
Loptr (Old Norse meaning “Air”)
Hveðrungr (Roarer)
Contriver of all fraud
Shape-Changer
Sly-One
Wizard of Lies
Thief of Giants
Evil Companion
Kinsman of Sleipnir
Foe of the Gods
Forger of Evil
Contriver of Baldr’s death
Wrangling Foe of Heimdallr
Notes
Loki was known to be mischievous and at times malicious, but he was also rather helpful in many stories.
At some point Loki’s name became conflated with Logi, meaning “fire”, however, Logi is a separate being and is the Nordic personification or god of fire. Many blame Richard Wagner for this mix-up.
It is also possible that Loki’s name means “knot” or “tangle”.
It has been debated whether or not the Finnish "Lukki" (the name for a spider with thing, long legs) came from the same root as "Loki" ("luka" the proto-germanic word for "lock") but this is not a very popular belief and there is very little evidence to back it up.
Though Loki is part Jötunn, he is seen as part of the Aesir.
My personal favorite story of Loki is Þrymskviða, in which Loki and Thor disguise themselves as women in order to get Thor’s hammer back.
Sleipnir, Loki’s son, is an eight-legged horse that came to be when Loki had to transform into a mare in order to drive away the great stallion, Svadilfari. While Loki was in the form of a mare, the two came together to create Sleipnir who was said to be the fastest and best horse in all of the nine realms. Odin eventually chose Sleipnir as his steed.
One of the most popular tales involving Loki gets its namesake from the god, the Lokkasenna.
Loki ends up punished by the Aesir for either killing Baldr or for the events that take place in Lokkasenna. He is bound in a cave by the intestines of one of his offspring, his son Nari is turned into a wolf, and a venomous snake is placed above his head and drips venom into his eyes. Sigyn holds a shell above his head to protect him from the venom but every so often needs to empty the shell and the venom drips into his eyes once more.
In myth, it is said that Ragnarök will begin when Loki breaks free from his bondage.
Loki has been conflated with Lugh, the Irish deity due to their similar prankster and chaotic nature as well as the slight similarity of their names.
Modern Deity Work
There is no evidence that Loki had a cult or large following until modern times, so many of these correspondences, offerings, etc are going to be based on Loki’s mythology and current Lokeans’ posts.

Ooooo thank you for explaining the cult 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Would you be able to go in depth about how and why warlocks are hated or the general history or state of your world?
Hope you're having a good time zone 😊
🫶🏽
not really because i haven't really thought about it! and this isn't really my own worldbuilding, this is the general consensus from high fantasy media in general:
Warlocks in general have a reputation for being evil, practicing dark magic, and making pacts with "bad" forces - like demons! they're thought to be servants of evil & are not to be trusted. their magic is usually chaotic and wild, unlike wizardry and witchcraft with are more careful and controlled - and their magic is learned, whereas warlocks get their magic from a powerful entity via some form of payment (ex: their soul)
really, warlocks can be good or bad or somewhere in between like any magic user. but due to the nature/source of their powers, they're seen as evil. the rarity of them only adds to this, since many do indeed get corrupted by their patron - or they sought out their pact for less than savory reasons

I was tagged by @babeoffrontiers <3!
Name: Majexatli (pronounced roughly Mah-heh-sha-lee in English)
Nickname: Asha (by Althyran), Tli (by daring close friends)
Gender: Indigiqueer (they/them)
Star sign: They don’t even know what year they were born, let alone month or day rip. I imagine they were born in the summer though.
Height: 6’6
Orientation: polyamorous bisexual
Race: Zariel Tiefling
Romancing: mainly Wyll & Karlach, though also the adventuring party is a complicated polycule where they’re also dating Shadowheart, Lae’zel, Halsin and have something complicated with Astarion
Fave fruit: Apples, blackberries
Fave season: Autumn
Fave flower: Aconitum, digitalis, cempasúchil
Fave scent: Cedar, smoke, sage, blood
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: Tea
Average sleep hours: Far too few... they are a bit of an insomniac unfortunately. They had been working on trying to get more sleep before the adventure, but the whole tadpoles and cult thing going on did set them back quite a bit.
Dogs or cats: They like both, but prefer dogs (and their son, the owlbear cub)
Dream trip: anywhere back in Northwestern Faerûn, they would prefer somewhere outside of the cities but would be willing to also visit Waterdeep or Neverwinter. They don't really have anywhere they call home, but they often wandered in Northwestern Faerûn and feel more at home there.
Amount of blankets: Usually they don’t sleep with a blanket, because they commonly will sleep in Wildshape. Out of wildshape they sometimes will also sleep without a blanket, but have some furs to cozy up in if it’s cold.
Random fact(s):
They have better control and skill with Wildshape than the average druid. They were only ~14 when they were able to Wildshape for the first time, and have spent a significant portion of their life in Wildshape. (For comparison, Wildshape is mechanically a 2nd level ability for druids)
Contrary to the Everything about them, they are not a Durge.
Despite pretending to be a Silvanus Worshipping Druid, Majexatli in fact hates Silvanus, considers themselves an ex-druid, and worships Malar, a chaotic evil deity of hunting, stalking, and the violence of beasts.
They worship Malar with a level of devotion that over the years has in fact granted them several boons (and perhaps some curses, depending on your view). One of which is what I call pseudo-lycanthropy, where they are not a lycanthrope but are about as close as you can get without actually being one.
At the age of 18, they received the title of Faithwarden, becoming the youngest druid to gain a title in their circle’s history. They were stripped of the title a little over a year later, though Majexatli ran off into exile before any official rulings
They often use Wildshape as a sort of mobility aid, almost, since their mobility is limited outside of it.
I am too anxious atm to tag anyone specific, but if anyone sees this and wants to do this, consider youself tagged!
