The Ceratosoma magnificum is a hotly debated nudibranch as scientists do not know yet if it is a real species or just an alternate colouration of a different one. Very few C magnificum have been seen in the real world, and the original species was described in the form of an old drawing and an old preserved specimen (whose colouration may have reacted with the preservation fluid, giving an inaccurate description). Whether C magnificum is truly its own species or part of some other Ceratosoma species is a mystery, but right now we can still look at the few pictures of this brightly patterned nudibranch and admire the beauty of nature!
