So I was talking to my bf the other night and made this rec eps list for fun. The idea pretty much was like to challenge myself to see if I had to recc someone who was hesitant to watch the entire show due to length and wanted to get a general gist, which eps would I recc for them to get a good feel, esp if they've maybe onIy had prior experience fics/art or want to delve on that but wanted to have an idea of canon first. I llimited myself to 15 eps with 5 extra "reccomended ", my focus being character dev eps and plot stuff like the lead up to reign storm, valerie's plotline, danielle, etc.

To be honest it was kinda hard at points lol, esp since DP is episodic moreso than plot heavy so it's not really like making a list for like a long running battle shonen or something, but hey this was fun to do fndnd.

Also again this is not a "you must follow this or else" type thing, I only did this for fun, I'll even link the tiermaker I used in case someone has their own version and opinions they wanna post as well which I'd honestly love to see.

To explain my reasonings

Req. Tier

Mystery Meat - First ep of the show, get introduced to main cast, set up yada yada

Parental Bonding - Introductuon to Paulina, first ep we get an idea for Sam and Danny's relationship.

What You Want - Tucker only really has two episodes during the show, so at the very least the first one focusing on him would be good to have to delve a bit into him.

Bitter Reunions - First Vlad ep, esp since he's Danny's arch-nemesis would be weird not to get introduced for later on.

My Brother's Keeper - Jazz finding out about Danny's secret, plus I really feel this is a great episode showing their dynanic and getting to learn more of how Jazz is.

Shades of Grey - best character Valerie gets introduced here, so felt it was pretty important to include esp for later on.

Public Enemies - This is the first episode where the status quo is changed and now Amity Park is just generally aware of Danny. Thinking he's an enemy yeah, buttttt still aware of Inviso-Bill i nearly typed in buffalo bill

Maternal Instincts - Danny and Maddie getting screentime together, Vlad's second appearance, and the start of Maddie straight up hating his ass lol.

Memory Blank - Mainly chose this one since it's where we learn how Danny first had the accident, so hey backstory stuff.

Reign Storm - The whole plotline with Vlad and Pariah Dark's ring and crown, more Valerie development, it's a fun episode imo. Too bad this didn't get followed in S3 but-

The Ultimate Enemy - Do I really gotta explain lol, Dan and Clockwork, Danny finding out Jazz knows his secret, etc etc like it's pretty much the episode every reccomends.

Flirting With Disaster - Big development for Valerie showing how she's developed imo, continues the Danny and Valerie stuff from Reign Storm, also again I'm biased towards Valerie lol

Reality Trip - Look I'll just be blunt I fucking love this episode, like it's genuinely my favorite of the three specials. It's a fun adventure, I love the Danny being revealed plot line, it's an exciting watch, could not leave it out.

Kindred Spirits - Danielle introduction plus more Vlad development as well, plus depending on your watch order I think this is counted as the S2 finale?

D-Stabilized - More on Danielle and Valerie's plotlines, and for a general bias honestly find it to be a pretty good episode and if any I'd say are "required" from S3 it would def be this one.

Recc. Tier

These were the most difficult cause there's still a bunch of episodes I'd rec.

Life Lessons - First ep where we see Danny and Valerie learn about each other outside of a negative context, plus pretty funny episode.

King Tuck - Again, Tucker barely gets any episodes so I do think his should be watched. Similar reasons to what I put for "What You Want".

Secret Weapons - First ep post-TUE where we see how Jazz and Danny are now that they're both aware she knows his secret. Get more development between them and more Vlad screentime too.

Eye for an Eye - This was such a hard one to choose between D-Stabilized and it, but I felt the former was more important in the end. Sets up the Vlad becoming mayor plotline that gies throughout S3 and also it's just funny like Vlad really rigged an election over a prank war with a 14 yr old.

Urban Jungle - I'm personally not the biggest fan of this episode, plus it's not really a special despite being advertised as such, but it does introduce the ice powers Danny gets that stays with him till the end so I felt it would be a good one to have listed as well.

Fun fact I actually had an earlier ver that incl. Million Dollar Ghost over Public Enemies, but when I thought about it I felt the latter had more bigger impact than the former simply setting up a plot line that Reign Storm goes more into anyway. Plus I really wanted to include Control Freaks cause it introduces Freak Show but again was limited 😭😭

Also it's very hilarious that for all the villains who's episodes I couldn't include, Desiree got BOTH her episodes in, like damn her impact 🤣

Last song: Probably either The Man or Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift. I just spent a week with my sister on vacation and she had just watched the Eras Tour movie so she was getting both of those stuck in my head all the time, and then we'd have to listen to them ofc.

Last movie: It was Host by Rob Savage (or at least it was when I started this, lol). I watched it 'cause I saw something on Insta about the Top 10 Scariest Movies according to what the average resting heart rate is for it. I didn't find it very scary (got me at the end though, woo boy) but I did love it - but then I love things that use the pandemic well and this definitely did imo. Plus it's all structured around (and shot through) a Zoom interface so it's only, like, fifty-seven minutes long because that's all you get when you don't pay for Zoom, haha.

Currently watching: Goosebumps, Last Week Tonight, The Fall of the House of Usher, Two Sentence Horror Stories, Our Flag Means Death and Ghost Files and I am half-assing all of it. I've either only started the first episode or only watched the first episode on all of those. I have no staying power these days. Though I am only one ep behind on Last Week Tonight \o/

Other stuff I watched this year: Unfortunately for you guys, I write fucking everything down and it is now the tenth month of the year. I GOT RECS. Well, Meg 2: The Trench, which is a cinematic masterpiece and I will take no questions on that (unless they're Joming related). (Cognizant of the month) Here are spooky things I watched this year and liked a lot: X, The Black Phone, The Menu, Terrifier and Terrifier 2 (this is definitely only for gore fans though), Bodies Bodies Bodies, Cocaine Bear (also a cinematic masterpiece, also not taking questions), Interview with the Vampire, Wednesday, Severance, Evil, The Last of Us, Over the Garden Wall, Magpie Murders, What We Do in the Shadows, and Shining Vale (haven't started the second season yet!). Also really liked: Paddington, Nimona, Barbie, Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse, Vivo, Derry Girls, The Bear, The Boys, Mythic Quest, Only Murders in the Building (I haven't watched the new season yet though but I expect great things), Reboot, Tuca & Bertie, Los Espookys, Barry, Extraordinary, Crashing (I literally watched it three times in a row - watching Sam and Fred fall in love 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 plus I fucking love Jonathan Bailey - I consistently find him ridiculously charming), Hacks, Avenue 5 (so sad this got canceled when I feel like it just hit its stride), Staged (I've watched it probably six times now), Abbott Elementary, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Ted Lasso, I Think You Should Leave Now (just for that one sketch, you know the one and, if you don't, I am HAPPY to tell you about it!), Unstable (petition for Fred Armisen to be in everything though, right?), Black Mirror, Central Park, Elite (I haven't watched the new season yet!), Reservation Dogs (ditto), The White Lotus, Good Omens, Letterkenny, Minx (what's ditto but for the third time?), Heartstopper, Sasaki and Miyano, and The Other Two.

Shows I dropped/didn’t finish: I'm behind on everything all the time so I'm only going to answer for shows I dropped and I don't think I've dropped any this year?

Currently reading: The Dead Take the A Train by Cassandra Khaw & Richard Kadrey (about halfway through), House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (I'll be reading this until I die, I think), Cunk on Everything by Philomena Cunk, The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab (nearly finished!), The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith, My Darling Girl by Jennifer McMahon and The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice (decided to do a reread of the IwtV series this year since I never actually finished it and only got to book ten and I read it way too long ago to remember anything that's happening if I just picked it up now).

Currently listening to: My calendar alarm telling me to go to my dog's vet appointment.

Currently working on: getting at least a third of the way through My Darling Girl

i procrastinated on this just so the answer would be worth it (cause i watched a mediocre french movie but mostly didn't pay attention and that didn't sound like a good answer); the movies i saw today instead of the indian movie im procrastinating on seeing:

She's Dating the Gangster (2014) - this philippino movie made me realise that netflix's "true love" category should've been called "heartbreak" but they renamed it so well

the intros and summaries truly suck because i thought i was going into a light "fake dating" romcom with a pair of cute silly teens as the leads! what i got instead was so sad and a tad bit melodramatic that at the end i didn't know how to feel.. i did cry though! i was hanging in there and yet it got me; it's a sweet movie, although it could be overwhelming, and i would recommend it! it's kind of my fave out of the three, i wasn't too sure how it was gonna end too; one really strong point is the sweet twist on the makeover trope that the movie doesn't even use to promote itself, it's kinda naturally in there and it made me so happy

Jumping From High Places (2022) - this italian romantic-but-more-about-self-growth movie about a young woman with anxiety was not technically confusing but it had me bored halfway through (again, the sample video thingy netflix shows had an energy that imo was not there throughout the film, i found it misleading); i'm just happy i picked up on smth that is probably supposed to be a surprising reveal hehe; i wouldn't not recommend it, i feel like it could be relatable and a sweet experience for some

Your Place or Mine (2023) - a typical hollywood movie, what can i say, it's been pushed onto me and i was kinda interested, gonna lie if i say the cast wasn't a part of the reason i caved in (i'm curious bout what kutcher and witherspoon are doing now, yeah);

i think it's kinda bland, it had some good sentiments but at the end i found the female lead too unlikeable and the story kind of stretched out and a bit rushed at the same time (maybe it was actually well paced and a proper length, just not my thing, that's possible. the gray overlay (?) was so depressing though, even her bright and green home felt awfully unwelcoming)

Yeah I mean like he said during uncharted press that over the next few years he was gonna focus on indie films and the potentially do another spiderman and uncharted so yeah I do think he wants to focus on more indie projects for a little bit . But that’s the good thing about uncharted they don’t need to rush a sequel they can give it 3 or 4 years and come back and do another one. I feel Tom would want to be apart of it and if he didn’t I doubt they would continue cause to be honest it’s only what it was cause of Tom so I don’t think it would work if they just recast and continued

Well, the way they filmed the movie (especially the end-credit scene), they basically kind of set it up to be a movie that would continue on, so I'm sure with the success the movie "Uncharted" had, I'm pretty confident that Sony would at least present to Tom the option of continuing on with a franchise. Now, whether or not Tom would actually want to do that, I have no clue? 🤷

We haven't even gotten anything concrete yet with regards to the SM franchise (although I'm pretty confident they're going to continue on with Tom's Spiderman). Just based on some of the things Tom has said recently in interviews, it seems like not only is he focusing more on indie films and smaller projects instead of huge franchises, but it also seems like he kind of wants to settle down within in the next 2-5 years and even start a family. 👀 I mean, just going by some of the things he himself has said over the past year or so, and also judging by the fact that he's actually dating someone who he's very in love with and has dated for several years already... To me it kind of seems like Tom wants to kind of slow down some and maybe focus more on his personal life for a bit. That's just the vibe I've been getting from him. 🤷 He's been dropping several hints in many interviews imo lol. In fact, BOTH he and Zendaya have been dropping several hints in their recent interviews if you ask me. 👀

I think Sony would be fine if Tom took a 3-year break. They have the 5-year "Reboot" contract lol, but they also have Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse 2 coming out next year, so I think they should be fine with giving Tom a few more years to have his "break" from Spider-Man (cuz that's honestly what it looks like to me he actually WANTS, no offense lol), and then resuming with the cast again when they are older and maybe in college/or about to graduate college. Just a thought!

Sup, I'm the same anon who talked about how Kaguya sama openings being connected to Daigo ships is possible. I saw that you would love to see my thought process on how I came up with that and ngl, I'm dying to to share it anyone so here it is lol.

I'm not proud to say it, but ngl this has been on my mind for atleast a year now 😅🤣. It started when I revisited Kiwami 2 which is also the time I became a fan of the show or fan of the opening to be more precise. I tend to watch anime that I'm not familiar with if it has very good opening songs. (Death Parade tricked me with its opening, and I love it. Ya boy Koming, that one has a banger op and a great show.) I usually watch anime that I already heard of or know because of the manga. Very good fan animations also gets me to watch the anime. Anyways, back to what I was getting at.

RyuDai with op 1. First the visuals, allthroughout the opening we see the main characters pointing weapons at one another, which emphasizes the war in "love is war". This just reminds me of how Ryuji and Daigo are at war in a way, whether it is due to personal or clan affairs. The weapon of choice also got my attention. We've seen Ryuji with a sword and Daigo with a gun so this works since in the op1 Miyuki and Kaguya are pointing their respective weapons at one another, just replace that with RyuDai The lyrics pretty much works well, like too well imo if you look at it with this ship in mind. Depending on how you translated the lyrics, it can even become more suited for this ship. In addition, the whole vibe of the song screams tension to me. The translated lyrics " this game were playing Are you aware that this is one where no one wins" And "I don't need a fairytale ending Cause happy ever after ending only exists in movies" Connects well to this ship cause frankly this is not a lovey dovey relationship that will end up good, especially with how the canon story went, but plays to the theme of yeah despite the what tragedy it may/ have turned to, there is/was love in there. "You and I are playing a dangerous game" Is it talking about something spicy or the fact that they are technically from the rival clan of one another? Both can work. Have you read the fanfic "Circling Dragons" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25474858?page=5&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true )? 'Cause, oh boy, that really is what pushed me to go, "Yeah, Love Dramatic can be its theme song"🤓🤣. Like seriously though, whenever I hear the song, the visuals in my head mainly comes from this fic. Bruh, I'm losing my mind. Anyway, in addition to all of this is Daigo and Ryuji themselves. I feel like if they believe in something they will do it no matter how dangerous it could be. They also both have pride/stubborn and I don't see one of submitting to the other, though at the same time both of them can show care, which connects to the premise of the show as well. I'm probably talking out my ass at this point but keyword in my last message is "probably" so ehh.... The "I can't decide" animatic on youtube by uhh... "北极光" (I can't read this but that's their channel. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/B4a3fJS1aXc ) also helped fan the flames for my imagination to go wild. I actually connected the bridge and the last chorus of Love Dramatic with the last two to three chapters of "Circling Dragons", it just fits imo. I won't explain cause I might spoil people who haven't read it.

With that, I went from, "This is a silly idea😂, I wonder if this could work?🤔" to "Okay how about the other openings?🤔😃💡 How can I connect it to other Daigo ships?" and this spiralled out of my control.

ShinaDai with op 2. You might ask, how did I came to this conclusion that it can work since they're not really at war at all or didn't interact that much. First and foremost, I just wanted to say that fics that I've read also helped in creating this connection to my mind. This also applies to other ships I love. Anyways back to ShinaDai. Let's start the visuals, I admit there's not much connection, but boy, if you changed the first fifteen seconds of the opening, where Kaguya is using the bow, with Shinada or Daigo using a bat and instead of a sudden shield it is them catching the ball, it works. It can allude to the fact that they are the target of their affection like how it is as well to Kaguya and Miyuki. The school setting also helps since that's usually where their (Daigo primarily but Shinada also if you want) love ✨blossomed✨🤣 for the other. Another connection I see is with the vibes of the song, the songs is a bit more playful, but earnest and wholesome, which I think fits Shinada. The song is also like alluding to love making or driving them crazy, which I think fits Daigo's whole thing, sort of... 'cause bro, beating the other school's students for a baseball game which ultimately led to you being expelled is crazy. I graduated as a Valedictorian in highschool so this fact is like so much more crazy to me. Like I get that Daigo doesn't feel like he has a dream (hehehe "Yume") of his own, cause I was the same, but being top of your class opens up more opportunities in the future. I was content with follwing my parents' careers but I eventually got my own goal/dream (hehehe "Yume"). In addition, the baseball plot being connected to Omi and Tojo business is fine and all but seriously though first impression I got after finishing that chapter was that Daigo went there cause he wanted help Shinada and that he knew him when they were in highschool, that's crazy and ridiculous but I love it XD🤣. Another thing I would like to connect is the fact that shinada could've just stayed but he still sent out of his way to help the other protags like bruh you're a civvie joining in to a yakuza business. I know Akiyama is there but he's there because of Haruka and Kiryu. I say he has more connection to the main plot cause he's there with Haruka. Okay, let's come back to how ShinaDai works with op 2. The translated lyrics "Throw my heart to the flames" Fits them cause boy you're getting close to the danger or harm's way just because of someone. Have you read the fanfic "Mob" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/30643031?page=2&show_comments=true&view_adult=true&view_full_work=true ) or "Immovable" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15002513?page=3&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ) ? Cause some parts of that fics, as well as other fics, sparked my imagination on how I could connect this to the opening. I also found a connection with the lyrics in the bridge of the song "Suddenly I'm falling, into a great unknown A while new world before me, But I'm not alone" It fits with the whole thing where Shinada really doesn't know anything about the Yakuza world, but he knows he'll be fine since Daigo is with him, that is if that's part of your headcanon on how this ship end up.

MineDai with op 3. I love this ship and ngl when I heard season 3 for kaguya sama is coming, one of my wish was for the op 3 to work for this ship. Insane I know. Imagine my joy when it did lol. RGGO I love you cause man, whenever I hear this song, the Mine sotries from that game comes to mind. I love games like that (RIP Naruto Blazing I love that game 'cause collecting all those characters is amazing. The art is cool and I can see some ninjistsu that was only mentioned but was never animated in the anime. I'm a free to play so no, I'm not spending my money on games like this) please tranlsate it rgg even the stories only, please. Anyway back to how MineDai fits with GIRI GIRI. The lyrics imo, is in Mine's perspective and I know I'm right. The song is all about wanting to get close, wanting to get to know them, wanting for this love that they feel to be true and I guess reciprocated. Mine is like this in his rggo stories he has some dialouge where he says something along the lines of he wanted to know more about Daigo, heck one of his mission (sort of) is to get the attention of Daigo just to see for himself what kind of Daigo is, wondering if Daigo is being true in his intention of being friendly. That sort of stuff. The lyrics "Your love, your love, Your love, just confess it to me" Fits if we want to look at Daigo egging on Mine or being "haha unless...". I feel like this fits cause in the stories from fanfic or rggo, Daigo is trying to reassure and get Mine to relax, you know just be friendly with him. Him flirting subtly to Mine works, but alas Mine seems to be too... professional, but it was nice to know they eventually became drinking buddies. You know the fan comic by Alciedoodles, basically like that, that's what I'm trying to get at. I actually have created a whole scenario with the 2nd verse The lyrics "I feel my patience growing thin, You whisper "Don't you ever leave me." with a wisful dream Trying to pinch a nerve, but I've started to learn That your cunning, crafty ways Won't ease this feeling deep in my heart" The Majima family in the bar singing while Mine and Daigo are there just chilling and drinking. Mine is being irritated with the singing, then Daigo hits him with that line and a flirty smile where Mine then proceeds to be flustered, hahahaha. I love and hate my imagination. The first verse also connects in how I'm sure that Mine/Daigo vice versa knows that they're not exactly an angel and they do stuff around them that might not be ideal/good in their perspective. The visuals, I like to replace the student council room with the chairman's office 😅. The sequence of all the students, replace that with the clan members. Now here's where my imagination and knowledge about some RGGO stories really kicked in, you know the pre chorus part in the op 3, where Kaguya and Miyuki are in the student council room then it transitions like a film until Miyuki is gone and Kaguya looks back and sees that he's no longer there then it spirals. If you've read the "Character Story - Mine (RGGO)" translated by cryingcow (for anyone wanted to read or re read this here it is: https://cryingcow.tumblr.com/post/628065021946150912/character-story-mine-rggo ), the end half of chapter 2, that's basically what I imagine that sort of parallels in my mind to this part of the opening. While the chorus where Kaguya runs, I connect that to the chapter 3 of that story event since Mine is basically running around in Kamurocho trying to find out where Daigo went. (My favorite thing about that whole thing is that Mine called cap when the Barker told him that Daigo went into a taxi with a woman then bought every taxi company just to know where Daigo is 🤣🤣.) The bridge of the song fits them, where Mine is really affected on how Daigo acts as well as how it can be hard for Mine to explain his feelings. Depending on how you translated it, you can also interpret one of the lines as " Trigger on the gun, Towards the one you love" That fits with that Yakuza 3 cutscene.

I also wanted to add that op 2's visuals fits with MineDai as well: Mine as Kaguya and Daigo as Miyuki, the majima family as the other students dodging the arrow, and Kashiwagi as Hayasaka in the first 15 seconds. Then in the chorus, Majima with his family as Chika and others being the love detective. Aouxjsishdj hahahahaha I love and hate my brain.

MasaDai with op 4. Now we finally got to the part where this is fully created and fabricated by imagination. This is brainrot or creativity at the highest level. Love is Show definitely fits when things are going well between them. Tbh, with the visuals and song being classy, especially in the chorus, I can just see that hey maybe tojo clan holds an event where every family attends and that's where we can have Daigo and Masato dressed up properly and dance together. Though I like to think that they danced out of sight of anyone, like idk in the gardens? lol. The lyrics " The romance is about to wear off, I'm not normal, and neither are you Is it love or is it not?" as well as in the second verse, imo fits their whole thing. Like yes I ship them, but is it truly love or just attraction? Add to that there's also a lyric where it's saying that they don't want to be alone, which I think both of them feels. I see them as a parallel to one another where they both hated being part of the tojo clan or yakuza in general, which resulted to them being feeling rather lonely. I can see them finding solace and comfort in finding someone who can understand them. You know the MasaDai comics by todayisfridaynight and the fic "Sons of Bosses" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/45958153?show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ), works imo with the lyrics for both first and second verses, where they mostly talk in cabarets and have some tension going on. I know that the song is actually very sweet, but I also can't help but imagine the lyrics in the chorus as something alluding to this love is just a show, something they use to escape the reality of their world atm. I know it might sound far fetched but isn't that the beauty with art, we can twist it in our own interpretation (just be respectful, especially for differing opinions). The bridge of the somgs also compels me, I have this voice in my head that it works with MasaDai, but I can't see how atm.

Anyway, I think we can all agree that I am clinically insane and has a stage 5 brainrot for Daigo ships. Look he's my favorite I want to give him love, but it won't make it easy since when there's conflict it makes the payoff much more sweeter and deserving. Yes, I love angst with a happy ending. Look this gives a chance for a character arc, evolution, or growth and I like that.

So... this is it. My essay on how Kaguya sama openings can be connected to Daigo ships. Ngl, I enjoyed writing and sharing this since this have been eating on my brain for atleast a year now. i don't really talk about them much on here (it's a crime i haven't drawn them yet) but gosh i love ryudai so much 😭😭 i read circling dragons last year and it ruined my week in the best way. it's absolutely one of my favorite fics ever and i've been meaning to read it again!! it's so interesting to connect that here aaaaa ryuji and daigo's whole relationship is such a whirlwind… most of the time it's less than gentle, but they DO clearly care for each other, even if they're not the best at showing it lol. still, there's so much holding them back from each other, as you pointed out; like their pride, their ambitions/goals (especially on ryuji's part), the omi and the tojo,,, they keep gravitating toward each other, but given their situations and personalities, everything is just a mess aaauugugghh *screaming as i think about them*

also totally random to note, but there's that shot toward the end of the op where shirogane and kaguya are facing each other with guns behind their backs that makes me think specifically about that part from y2 where daigo and ryuji are just walking around each other at omi hq before they fight. i just like the image of them staring at each other surrounded by hearts dshjsfkj

Gay anime recs for that one Annie :)

hii Annie, sorry this took me so long, ended up working til late and then i was dead after lol.

speaking about gay Anime or Yuri as the connoisseurs call it, i've seen them ALL, and im not even exaggerating lmao, i've seen almost every anime in which two girls kiss or end up together. but when ppl think about those is always the same old ones on every list cause for a LONG time those were the only ones aviable until recently that somehow the creators became more committed to these stories and have been giving us quality content. here's where my personal preference interferes .. i only go for happy endings lmao i don't waste my time on depressing shit lmao. life is depressing enough as it is lol. so yeah, lets start from the beggining.

Strawberry Panic. - you've probably heard about this one but is a classic and a master piece for a reason. very light and sweet but also a good share of drama. all girls school, gay for days, great ending :)

2. El Cazador de la Bruja. - the third on a trilogy of non connected pieces about gay protagonists. imo the best of the 3 cause is the one who actually ends on a good place :) and that place is Mexico lmao. extremely interesting adventure story, VERY gay and a easy to watch.

3. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. - a very special piece, very close to my heart, in which in a course of 3 seasons you get to see the rare occurrence of a relationship between these two girls since they're kids all up to when they get married and acquire a kid lmao plus magic and monsters and all that jazz lmao. te longest of the list but also one of the bests.

4. Assault Lily Bouquet. - one of the most recent entries. very gay, very dramatic but also very short D: again all girls school, everyone is gay, the end lmao

5. Bloom Into You. - cause of course this one cant be missing from this list. IMO the best yuri anime in modern times. easy watch, gorgeous artstyle, school coming of age, actually gay, very good ending, i cant literally praise it enough. and the anime only goes half the way of the original manga. i HIGHLY recommend reading the manga which is finished <3

6. Citrus. - this might be controversial for some but in the core is very sweet and well executed, the manga keeps on going but the anime stops on a really good place. very interesting and over all sexy.

7. Fragtime. - very cute movie about two girls in school who fall in love with each other under weird circumstances. i loved every second of it. my only complain being that it could have been longer D:

8. Princess Principal. - the only entry in here that isn't "explicitly" gay lol or at least not in the conventional way cause the main girls are literally dating in secret. cute, romantic period piece with awesome music and effects. and also still ongoing in the form of movies. if they end up confirming it remines to be seen. but c'mon, this is official art.

9. Yurikuma Arashi. - beautiful work of art from the same ppl behind the classic UTENA. a wnderful representation of the phrase "again but gayer" the story is kinda cnfusing like everything they do lmao but once you really get into it, it slowly consumes your soul.

10. Adachi and Shimamura. - super cute and relatable depiction of ones first crush. light and beautiful with nothing to waste. fuckin adorable man

This is the anon from cartoonrival’s blog! What are your Sonic lore recommendations?

If you mean media through which to learn sonic lore, then I'd honestly recommend the wiki (Sonic News Network) first and foremost. There's a looootttt of different canons, different interpretations, etc etc and the wiki catalogues all of it! It's a much easier option than trying to play all the games and read all the comics and watch all the cartoons yatta yatta

If that is something you'd wanna do (or at least, some of it) then here are a few of my personal recommendations for some of the sonic lore (gameverse, again theres a lot of different media with its own canon so i'll just focus on gameverse for this ask)

Sonic Adventure: SA1 has a lot of focus on the ancient echidnas, Knuckles' tribe, and their history. If you were intrigued by what the movies did with them and wanted to see where a lot of that came from and how they are in the games, then I'd recommend playing through or watching a playthrough of Sonic Adventure!

Sonic Adventure 2: Personally my favorite sonic game. I cannot recommend this one enough, it has one of the best stories (imo) out of the whole franchise. Unfortunately the English localization is notoriously bad/muddles lots of plot details, and the channel that housed the Japanese cutscenes with faithful English subtitles recently got (completely unfairly) deleted. I think you'll be fine with the English cutscenes if you're just casually looking into this game's story, but if you want a better picture that's more clear/accurate (and have 2 hours to spare) then I highly recommend this video that goes over the entire story with an emphasis on the original Japanese version. SA2 is Shadow's debut appearance (and was originally supposed to be his only appearance), so if you're a Shadow fan and want to learn about his backstory + get a feel for his character (or just want to experience a super well-written story that gets pretty dark) then this is definitely one of the games you'll want to check out!!

^ (also its story in general outside of shadow is really good everyone is characterized really well and its very enjoyable - it's rouge's first appearance too if you want to see how she was originally as well!)

Sonic Unleashed: Personally I've never played Unleashed, but a lot of people really love it! It's got beautiful graphics, great soundtrack, and (relevant to this ask) it has some major worldbuilding which still appears to be canon today, concerning the planet Sonic and friends live on - and some ancient gods, you know how it is. (Oh and Werehog Sonic AKA God's greatest gift to humanity. he fluffy)s

Lastly, I'll recommend the IDW comics again cause why not. They take place in the same canon as the gameverse (although they're not canon to the games... assumedly) and build off of them. They're really good at bringing back things from older and more obscure games in a way that doesn't feel forced or confusing, so if you want something that has a little taste of everything then I'd once again say to check them out!

I know this isn't a lot, but "lore" is kind of hard to quantify. Every canon sonic game would technically count as "lore" I guess, since it's a new story installment, but I'm not gonna ask you to play/watch every single sonic game LOL. I tried to just pick stuff that focuses on things that happened in the past pre-sonic & friends since that's what comes to mind when I hear the word "lore"

1. How did you get into the fandom? I forgot how i initially found maloki, but i remember wanting to get into more norse mythology media after researching the myths for a few months. then i found it and it was the first thing my brain latched onto so now... we're here !!!

2. Favourite character? Oh i dont know.... maybe Heimdall..... just maybe...... and anime!Hel, i don't care for her manga counterpart since they're so diff lol

3. Least favourite character? idk none of them really stick out to me as being awful so much i hate them, theyve all got their charm.. baldr, ig ? i dont care abt him..

4. Favourite series? (Out of the original, Ragnarok or Shin Sekai no Kamigami.) ragnarok or shin sekai. ragnarok i think is fun and shin sekai i like just because it gets really heim centric lol the og series gets on my nerves....... its just sooo bad. its just awful.

5. Favourite case? (Since Matantei Loki doesn't give names to the cases, you can describe the case instead of trying to pinpoint it. However, if you can remember which chapter/episode it came from, that would also be good.) I keep forgetting that this is a detective series, and also i try not to reread the original because it really sucks more than usual imo, so idk

7. Most heartwarming moment? episode 24 of the anime,,, hel's plotline is honestly the most well written out of the entire series..

What didn't you like about the series? i have an entire post where i just complain to mutual rosquinn, but basically the many plotholes, the misogyny, the weird relationships that keep getting pushed, the amount of weird comments made abt mayura, the character development for heim in the manga which is basically him getting worse and not acknowledging anything at all in the plot for the sake of being evil... the anime is so much better abt this, but freya had so much potential there that was just lost :/

21. Least favourite moment in the series? The part where Narugami tells loki to look at mayura's boobs and generally loki being a freak abt this. This chapter is majority the reason i despise the og series. it is so awful. it makes me throw up. also the part where heim and loki each kiss mayura. literally what. what. what. im going to throw ten million hammers (mjolnirs) at you.

22. Do you think Tactics is better or worse than Matantei Loki? If you don't know about Tactics, which series would you say is similar to Matantei Loki? don't know tactics but in supernatural they;re also hunting creatures and killing them.

23. Despite Matantei Loki being shonen, do you think it would benefit if it were a shojo series? i dont know enough manga/anime terms to answer this ^^''

24. Do you think Kantarou of Tactics (if you don't know who I'm talking about, Google him) was deliberately made to look like Loki? i don't really see it all that much.

25. If you could add one character to the series, what kind of character would it be? Do you have a name decided for the character - if so, what's their name? i think skathi from the myths would work great as another antagonist, esp. as she is the only other aesir that has the kenning of "loki's foe". (Heim is the other one)

26. Did you even want to learn about Norse mythology after seeing/reading the series? the reverse, I only got into maloki because I like norse mythology.

27. How well do you think Matantei Loki teaches people about Norse mythology? Not at all, but better than other popular media based off of norse mythology (cough cough marvel). I think a lot of its base is pretty accurate though, save a few things here and there (such as heimdall being god of tactics and dawn? straight up wrong and incorrect and false and not true.)

28. Do you think the portrayals of Loki in Marvel Comics/the movie Thor/Norse mythology etc. are incorrect now that you've seen/read Matantei Loki? They're both just diff interpretations and portrayals. I'd say they're equally incorrect but maloki gets extra points for keeping Loki's family tree accurate because that is such a pet peeve of mine.

29. What do you first think of when the name Loki or Thor is mentioned? the guys from the mythology.

30. What do you think the ending will be like? Or do you not want it to end at all? Uhh heim gets his shit rocked and his ass kicked again. iirc odin comes back? don't really know much else but i know loki gets the eye staff at some point, he's the protagonist after all. I reckon baldr gets stopped and the valkeryies are freed. Odin gets placed as king again.

ignore the last anime post cause i actually had to check since i couldn't remember exactly, but i've actually watched 10 new animes (counting their related movies as well)

in no particular order, this year i watched: Monster (it slapped but it went on for a bit too long imo) Samurai Champloo (i liked it but not enough to recommend it) Ajin: Demi-Human (an enormous disappointment, interesting concept that devolved into gunplay the anime and the art direction left a lot to be desired) Violet Evergarden (it's ok a lot of monologuing and i remember enjoying the character outfits and the scenery way more than the story) Neon Genesis Evangelion (it was good, that's all i have to say about it less i begin to spiral from how difficult it was for me to analyze it at first) Way of The House Husband (cute and hilarious, just a fun romp all the way through) The Miyakawa Family's Hunger (lucky star spin off, its v cute feels like more lucky star tbh lol) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (only thing i knew about it was the school festival scene for a long time, but the whole anime kinda fucked and i loved how weird it was and haruhi's character is a whole thing worth unpacking) Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan (spin off of Haruhi that dropped the sci-fi elements and answered the question "what if it was just a classic high school anime instead", it was cute imo)

last one is Tokyo Ghoul which i haven't finished but s1 and s2 were great in my opinion and i think it presents a lot of interesting questions in regards to the ghouls and humans and how far can one go before they themselves become the thing they're fighting, how far can you go until you yourself are monstrous and this idea of the self and of losing it due to trauma and how trauma begets trauma and can even cause one to self harm which ends up inflicting even more trauma onto themselves (i could go on and on but this post already feels long)

hi, i'm the anon from before! oooh, so many thoughts, i can pretty much agree with all you said! good tea good tea. i do not want to make this too long and bombard you with a mile-long message so i will *try* to keep this short...er? by picking out a few things you mentioned that rotate in my brain the most rn!

(edit: okay sorry, i failed at keeping it short lol <3 just ignore this massive text if it's too much, no worries lolol)

hen's doc arc... oof. ok so i am having lots of thoughts about that specifically but i think the issue is more of an overarching problem than hen's doc arc actually. i hope you are ok with me going on a tangent LOL. how you said that the characters feel like they are *stuck* – yes, that is exactly how i see it, too. tbh i realized that especially in the finale episode when they all got their "happy end". anyone noticed how it was incredibly romance-heavy for all characters? none of the characters seem to move towards any type of bigger personal goal that they want to achieve. hen did for a second there, and it was tossed into the trash. none of them express interest in anything that isn't their current job or family tbh, and none of these characters were shown to achieve something tangible except falling/staying in love. buck seems to express interest in being captain whenever it's a topic, so there's that, but it's still more of a vague idea and less something he's actively working towards (cause how can you work on gaining life experience? bobby basically just said he must be older). don't get me wrong, them finding love and staying a close family is cute, but it's incredibly bland when that's the only thing you give to the entire ensemble. cannot for the life of me remember any of them have actual hobbies or life goals that are meaningful to them and that are not linked to firefighting or romance/family. that's also a reason why the s6 ending felt so disney-esque, i think. the characters have nothing to show for themselves after 6 seasons worth of development, so the message of that rushed ending was "but at least they all have a romantic partner now, aren't you happy?" greetings from the land of amatonormativity lol. do none of them want to achieve anything in their lives? do none of them have some dream they want to fulfill, even if it's something small and silly but still meaningful to them?

this is pretty dramatic for the show imo, because the heavy emphasis on the found family trope seems to be more of a cage for the individual characters than a support system at this point. if the characters aren't allowed to outgrow their baby shoes because their work dynamic is not allowed to change, then their future in the show looks quite bleak. forever forced to stay in the same dynamic, forever playing the same role within the family. "doomed by the narrative" sounds a bit too much but honestly, is it really that far off? this is why, i think, they abruptly ended hen's doc arc as well – because her leaving the firefam is against the idea of them staying that perfect team that they are rn and that every single one of them is irreplaceable within that family dynamic. i do love found family, i really do, but it's obvious how it's turning into a stiff corset for the characters that forces them to stay in this One Place their entire lives. i really need the show to stop with that and focus on the individuals more: give them hobbies, give them passions, give them silly/interesting/meaningful life goals! give them something to achieve that is not connected to their families or love interests! allow them to "leave" the firefam to show us that they're family even if they do not work together anymore! i am pointing at Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as reference – a movie that understood that there is a charged relationship between "the needs of the group" versus "the needs of the individuals" within family dynamics, and how you can let others live their own lives without it destroying strong family bonds. i genuinely do not want to see them all be reduced to the relationships they have with each other. give them something to experience and work towards and achieve that is just for themselves. something that they can be proud of.

i agree re your stance on buck's storyline! i think it had a lot of incredible moments, hence why i was SO excited to see what they plan to set up with this, if he'll truly go to italy like the doctor said many do after traumatic experiences or something lmao. the fact that it just kinda... did not lead to anything was a bit disappointing, but i am still hopeful that they'll pick that back up in s7 and expand on the idea that buck somehow found his answer to what "true happiness" looks like to him.

and you are so right, the show is just not that good with giving us tangible consequences that truly affect the narrative long-term. they do something, but only shortly, and often just to create a bit of predictable drama that i KNOW will not matter anyway, before they return back to the status quo as if nothing ever happened. and i'm like, (shrug emoji) why should i care, karen? all of this is inconsequential anyways. one example is eddie leaving the 118 because chris was upset. instead of showing them working through it by communicating and both learning something from it all, they made eddie leave abruptly and then, blink and you miss it, he's back again. neither he nor chris learned anything from this. the show fails at doing that at sooo many points, though, that i just don't expect anything else anymore. (that sounds fairly defeatist but i'm just being honest). granted, ik that this is typical for a show in this genre, but others are able to really be consequent with their narrative choices and show that the characters and their priorities were truly and irrevocably altered due to what happened to them. that leaves me unsatisfied a lot of the time because it's giving me Marvel? like, these characters can literally go through anything, even literal death, but in the end, it's like you multiplied them by one: they are somehow exactly the same as before but a Process Has Occurred. not trying to say that there is zero character development; however, given how much shit they all go through, the consequences are disproportionately small and disregarded too easily.

omgggg strongly agreed with the pacing. chim's proposal is a good example for it, yeah sdfghjk. it often feels like the show sets up very simple ""problems"" that every normal person would easily solve in five minutes but the show just streeeeetches them to no end until i am, quite frankly, fed up with it to a point i skip entire chunks of the episodes. and that is, how you explained very well, tied to the cases as well. i quite literally do not understand that weird system they have set up in 911. they take sooo much screen time for side characters that will never matter again and who do not interest me at all. these are characters that are there to be vehicles and narrative foils for the main characters imo, but they get too much screen time for the job they have narrative-wise and even then do not really fulfill the job they were created for. if they worked on one (1) case that stretched over more episodes, then maybe i'd say that investing a bit more time to build these characters is useful. but that's not how the show does it, so all i can think is "you wasted 10 precious minutes here that you should have given one of the main characters during one of their pivotal moments instead". meanwhile, 911 somehow fails to give canon love interests or new reoccurring characters this type of treatment? why did we not get a 10 minute set-up solely focusing on natalia, marisol, taylor, ravi? i would genuinely want to see these characters exist outside of their relationship with the firefam. same with more established ones. where is the episode that shows us a bit more of christopher's life, for example? it's been 5 seasons and i have yet to see him live his life outside of his relationship with eddie and buck.

ough, there is more to talk about but damn this has been a long ass message, oopsie. i wanna end this by saying that i definitely wish for buck to take more responsibility, too. i lowkey think that he's actually set up to eventually be a captain, looking back at the past 6 seasons? the way buck was introduced in s1 alone was golden, but we see his stint as a fire marshal paid off work-wise, we saw that the firefam became a family thanks to his influence and that he is the one who has the strongest wish for the firefam to be a family (opposing hen and chim who said that they lost touch with other 118 members beforehand), we saw him being the one to train ravi, he actually expresses interest in the position, he loves his clipboards and is being a pendant at work, he is learning how to cook for the firefam like bobby always does (maybe means nothing but the bobby parallel is still there), he was shown to stay confident and professional and in control in the s6 finale even while helping during the birth of his own biological child, he seems to truly find his calling in being a firefighter... might just be me, and maybe the show will never get that far with bobby retiring and buck truly being ready for it on screen, but i will keep this dream alive cause it helps me to look past all the pointless shit in 911 lolol.

First point: Literally YES. I feel like everyone piqued in terms of their characterisations about 3 seasons ago and since then we have been left with the same characters dealing/feeling with the same things and not really going anywhere. And yeah sure that's real life. But it doesn't make good TV. Even with Maddie, I love her in the call centre but they could have had her become further involved in the support group that helped her, have May come in and take on the call centre role but ... No. The show tends to tease with changes but never fully commits to them. Eddie leaving the 118 could have been explosive and new and different but ... no! Hen could have been a doctor but ... no! It feels like the writers are scared of rocking the boat and changing up dynamics but I think that's exactly what the show would benefit from. Also ... yes about the romantic relationships. We get it ... Eddie is lonely. Buck is incapable of not having a gf for more than half a season. The only romances in the show that feel earned are the ones which have been central to the show for years but you're right it felt like: EVERYONE GETS A ROMANTIC PARTNER AREN'T THEY SO HAPPY!! It's also funny knowing the strong likelihood that the two characters they keep matching with people (Buck and Eddie) will probably serve as comedic oh no I've walked into another relationship I'm not ready for ! Ha ha HA!

the found family trope seems to be more of a cage for the individual characters than a support system at this point > YES! Like I love how much of a family they are, it's amazing but it's also a bit like ... choosing to do something for yourself is sometimes presented as going against the team or automatically shutting you out and that's odd lol. I honestly think the only character who does seem to be independent from the group in a good way is Bobby. He has his AA stuff going, friends and support away from the group and that's so interesting to see. Same with Eddie's family, although literally every other scene was them all trying to set him up with someone and furthering the: one of the lead men is single?! fix this immediately idea they've got going on.

Eddie leaving: Yes exactly this! I actually enjoyed the change but I felt like I shouldn't have? That seemed to be the vibe. It was like another poor Eddie he's doing this for Chris rather than hey let's talk about this son and work through your very valid feelings. It was another example of ohhhh we can change the dynamic but it's just not the same :( and it's bad :( Heck even when the evil paramedic replaced Chimney and Hen was like it's temporary! you're Monday! You're not part of the team I was like ... and this is the issue with this family unit. You're at work. It's work.

The cheesy montages are the worst ssksksksksk I just ... yeah. Don't care. I really like when calls make the team reflect on something going on in their life because that's cool or when the calls have like a funny theme tied into the title of the epiosde but dear God when it's just not connected whatsoever I give up. I skip bits. I literally think: well if I skip past this, nothing will change the lives of any of the characters in the show that I am interested in. And YES, there's side characters who deserve some form of recognition/screen time and it just ... does not happen unless it is related to the firefam which again just reinforces the idea that if it is not linked to those characters - don't worry it doesn't even matter. It makes it almost silly to love any side character more than the firefam characters - bar Maddie but I think that's a lot to do with a fairly high profile known actress playing her.

Buck's progress: Honestly everything you said! I don't see them going that far with Buck, as in making him more responsible mainly because I feel like the writers still can't resist writing Buck as the child of the firefam, the impulsive hey I just cheated on my gf, hey I've walked into a relationship I don't want, hey I don't have a sofa! trope that they like because they need someone to be silly. Hen and Chimney and Bobby are all Older, they have their life together, they're settled and Eddie sort of floats between Buck and the other three. I'm hoping they grow Buck up a little! They've given him very serious stuff with him now having a biological kid, being in what looks like a serious relationship, cheating death again but out of all the characters, Buck still seems to be the one where writers love undoing maturity and progress within him so we'll see.

i really wanted to know your opinion on this hun, and also what WS anon thinks about it! especially considering the way flo normally deals and talks about her projects and coworkers on her social media (like she’s already doing with ‘the wonder’ and still do with ‘little women’, ‘midsommar’ and of course ‘black widow’), because imo the way she dealt with dwd was definitely weird and not a coincidence. she didn’t even shared or even liked olivia’s post of her first look as alice in the film! and for someone like florence, that’s just not right.

I didn't follow how Flo was like during the whole process of DWD so I can't comment! If people can send an unbias report to Flo's whole attitude before, during and after DWD wrapped I might have a better opinion. If it has been discussed here before maybe you have a link Jessie? Cause I usually ignored DWD convo here before.

I don't have proof but I would assume they're not totally on bad terms. I also don't follow Harry enough to make any kind of assumptions between him and his manager.

WS anon can you ask your friend if she thinks DWD will be a hit in the box office? I’m just curious cause I follow an account who also got spoilers and they’re saying a lot of the same as what you said. But I was wondering how your friend thinks this will perform?

We actually discussed this not because we're particularly interested in DWD but my friends love discussing film potentials and pop culture. So from what we gathered there were two test screenings. My friend only attended the second one and she was pretty lukewarm about it. But we assume they have more than enough survey response to improve on the material. I don't think 6/10 is a particularly bad rating? We think it's safe to assume the primary audience will be Harry stans. My friend thinks his fans would be happy enough because though his acting was pretty mid compared to Flo, he looks really good save for the ending. And since there were a lot of stans during the last test screening maybe they put there wanting to see more of him. Booksmart was well-received and Flo is very well-loved, the genre usually draws in an audience, so a lot of cinephiles might be drawn in. However, for the gp we think it will depend on the reception of the film critically and the word of mouth marketing. While a lot of the cast are pretty well-known, none of them are considered true box office draws. Harry might draw in a lot of his fans, but for the gp I never really here them be excited just because a popstar is starring in a film. Flo, Chris and even Olivia are pretty well-known but looking at their filmography none of them are Tom Cruise or Dwayne Johnson. In fact they starred in some flops in the box office, which is no shame cause I do believe the word movie star doesn't really exist anymore. Not even Brad Pitt could save Ad Astra in the box office. Right now we don't really see it as a big hit. My friend is no Olivia hater by the way and again 6/10 isn't bad. But as she was trying to explain to us the film, so far it's not very captivating and intriguing. I didn't really have an interest seeing this film so I would be one of the market that needs to be convinced to see it. Other factors include the fact it's R-rated which will automatically limit the audience. My friend said she doesn't think the film utilized the rating enough though. Another is when it will be released. Nearly every month next year they have a big competition which will probably block in more theaters. And lastly is how other countries will treat the cinema next year because while the US is pretty relaxed I have read some countries don't want to risk opening up movie theaters until the pandemic is completely cleared.

Okay, but I can definitely imagine Barb/Dia doing that. It seems like quite a possibility. But wasn't dying mc's own fault though? Like,, Barbatos did warn,,, unless he knew this was gonna happen and mc was DUMB AND STUPID enough to show up to everyone like: "hi." and possibly be dumb enough to get killed. Idk lol I forgot this part.

But what you said about Beel, I really like that. I think you even mentioned belphie guilt tripping you in your yandere hcs, and trying to make you completely depend on him?? I like those possibilities. Mammon though,, too soft. Like you said, they've robbed him a lot. He could have had so much potential to be a dark character. Similarly Levi omg.

The brothers are the embodiments of the 7 deadly sins, yet, tbh, I haven't seen too much of this side of them. At least, not like how'd I expect. Leviathan, for eg. Envy. I don't recall seeing his sin playing out anywhere except in the TSL Quiz thingy. I mean, it's been toned down a lot for someone who's the literal embodiment is envy. Idk I just don't feel he's like that? As from what I found: Envy (Latin: invidia), like greed and lust, is characterized by an insatiable desire. It can be described as a sad or resentful covetousness towards the traits or possessions of someone else. The struggle aroused by envy has three stages: during the first stage, the envious person attempts to lower another's reputation; in the middle stage, the envious person receives either "joy at another's misfortune"(if he succeeds in defaming the other person) or "grief at another's prosperity" (if he fails); the third stage is hatred because "sorrow causes hatred".[38]

Envy is said to be the motivation behind Cain murdering his brother, Abel, as Cain envied Abel because God favored Abel's sacrifice over Cain's.

They toned him down a little too much?? If this game has actually been inspired by demons and the 7 deadly sins, they could at least make them similar to the demons, at least in some way. I'm not that far into the game yet, but so far that I've played, I haven't seen much. As for a demon who is the embodiment of envy... I wish to see more. Levi is capable of A LOT.

Similarly, Satan. I sometimes wonder why is he even called the Avatar of Wrath when we hardly see it?? The only time I remember is him losing his calm during the whole body swap event. The fact Satan got mad at us refusing a pact actually made me think that he was the sin "wrath", but idk now. And the way it was said that "every smile is an act", I really like that concept too. But I don't think I've paid much attention to see where it played out. Sigh now Satan simps for cats like,,, please show me your dark/evil side sir.

The way you said Barb and Dia took part in a torture dungeon, I want to see more of that too. If they're demons, wouldn't they have caused SOME sort of bloodshed in a way? Especially if they're the strongest demons. Killing humans, eating them, or I even like to think doing the same to their own race. Torturing... Seems like something that every demon's blood would contain lmao, I'm not answering questions bye.

And I believe so too. The human seems like a pawn... I feel the demons would use humans for entertainment and their own purposes, while keeping up the facade of loving them. It's easy, since demons are manipulative. In that case, losing the human whether by their own hands or not would go like: "Oh well, that's unfortunate. Time for another human."

But if they REALLY did love you, I feel they'd still be manipulative. Like you said. Corrupting/spoiling the human so much to the point that they'd just HAVE to depend on them. I feel they'd also have yandere tendencies, or be "protective". Like, then I feel they really wouldn't want to let you go, despite knowing how much it can ruin your innocence.

I also don't like how everyone is after mc like "uwuwu master". The human is still a weakling despite having pacts, plus, the pacts aren't even demanding the human's soul or anything. I don't get why they let mc walk over them when they are CLEARLY much stronger? If I were a demon I'd do the opposite lmao. Making the human seem as if they are controlling me, but it's the opposite. I don't think a mere pact can change the fact that the demon's stronger,,, esp if the pact didn't demand the human's soul/life/whatever.

Oh btw in lesson...56 I think?? Just gonna tag this as a spoiler, but where for whatever reason Satan was "Sully" and the angel Lucifer asked him whether he liked books, let me just say I haven't even played it that far yet, but Satan going, "...Every book here is precious."

It's been a while since I've thought in-depth about the whole time traveling thing tbh, but couldn't Barbatos generally see the outcomes of the world?

We went back because they wanted to know who opened it, but considering Diavolo's the ruler of hell who turned Lilith human and Barbatos is basically the ruler of time & practically the universe I believe they already knew Lilith did it since it had to be "blood related" basically.

Barbatos also knows he can stitch together timelines and get of "extra" MCs essentially, so I believe he'd take that into account. I'm not saying MC getting killed was 100% part of the plan, but that they didn't care of MC was traumatized because they knew they could bring them back if necessary.

Imo the real goal wasn't to find out who did it, but to avoid breaking the family's bonds and devotion to Diavolo. The way it worked out was incredibly convenient and "coincidentally" a huge upgrade for Diavolo that kept the status quo and made him look good (or at least better) to Belphie and Beel without making Lucifer choose.

We see that kind of repeat later when Diavolo withdraws from the play because he was worried Lucifer wouldn't be as loyal. That's also why Lucifer gets that warning from Barbatos.

I think a huge part of why Levi's characterization is like that is because not enough people like him enough to tolerate it tbh. Even Mammon and Lucifer stans complain about the other characters hogging screen time and a lot of them admit to feeling bad for other fans. Levi is pretty much always second to last popularity wise.

I think he'd actually be more liked if they focused more on the jealously instead of making almost every interaction otaku/Ruri-chan related, but it's a bit too late now. I really, really hate how they just pretend otaku culture always existed and that's all Levi ever was. Like at least make him have an obsessive personality and be hyperfixated on novels instead of talking manga in an era before Japan even existed. It's so unbelievably lazy and really takes me out of the story.

Another problem is we only really see him interact with family or people that could enact severe consequences like Diavolo & Barbatos or people protected by the exchange program. He never gets a chance to shine or be cunning. The closest we get is things like him purposefully trying to ruin Christmas for random people online in his Christmas card. I think if he genuinely got jealous of MC and some random demon he would summon lotan almost instantly.

It's especially painful knowing what we had & being so excited to get more only for all of that to get dropped.

In an early devilgram, Be You, Satan gets jealous and feels bad about not having much unique to him and Lucifer comforts him in his own way when the others make it worse. Mammon is the most empathetic though ofc. They also talk about horror movies and Mammon says he doesn't find them scary (& the way it's framed sounds honest, idk if it's a retcon or a lie,) and Satan says "I'm sure we've all witnessed plenty of real-life horrors worse than anything in the movies."

Then when Lucifer asks for a time when he was really angry Satan first casually then gleefully talks about torturing a family to death because a kid set him up to get scolded by their parents. Meanwhile the brothers act wary of him and worry about him getting out of control while Lucifer tells everyone to take cover for their own safety with a smile. Satan happily talks about them begging for their lives and says he wishes they saw it too.

Levi also says he hates hearing about people being happy, but likes hearing about the negative things. While Asmo and Mammon are freaking out he also calls Satan cool. Which shows at least a little bit of his envy for once. Satan also says just the aura of his rage is usually too much for humans which is also interesting.

But back to Diavolo and Barbatos, I don't hate how the whole torture thing isn't super open, it makes sense imo, but I would like to see hints of them hiding it. Especially if Satan or even attic Belphie was the one you could go to to learn more about it. If anyone would defy Diavolo for that it'd be them trying to bring Lucifer down with them, or even just Satan rewarding the hunt for knowledge and not understanding the human psyche fully.

Imagine if instead of a paper thin lie about being human we got a Belphie manipulating us by pretending he was locked up because he was against hurting humans and the whole exchange program was a scam? Or at least if he told us things no one else would about Diavolo that were true so we wouldn't trust him and etc. That's the angle I'm going with in my fanfiction at least, the original story is just so lazy and boring imo.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of how they handled pacts either, especially considering they don't even get MC's soul. It's way too one-sided to the point where I don't believe someone like Satan would ever offer it, even if the first offer was a trick and he'd get your soul or something. I agree on the whole manipulation thing too, like how is it partnership if one side has complete control over the other?

Even just making it so that demons can fight against if they really don't want to do something like harming each other and having it corrupt MC would make it a million times better.

And that's so sweet, thank you! You've made my days a lot brighter too. Not much makes me happier than infodumping and complaining about Obey Me rn lol.

I really liked Satan's line there too, although I did wish he had more a reaction to everything tbh. That whole section felt a bit too easy imo though, like I kept waiting for it to all go to shit or something. I am glad they went back into more story-based chapters too. I hope they keep that trend and expand on it.
