Walking through the streets of Santo Padre you couldn’t help but smile as the autumn sun warmed your skin, tray of coffees in one hand and a bag of pastries in the other. It was a Saturday morning and you spent it wandering around the market as you did every week.

If people didn’t know you were Miguel Galindo’s girlfriend they definitely wouldn’t know by looking at you, your appearance was simple, a pair of grey sweatpants, your Nike air maxs, a black vest top and your cap turned backwards. But the people who knew smiled and greeted you.

Walking back to your car, you headed over to Miguel’s house, even though he tended to work Saturdays because let’s face it the cartel didn’t stop for anyone. You still spent the weekend at his house.

Parking your car, you smiled as you saw Marcus’ bike parked out front, making you glad you got him something as well.

“The life of the party had arrived” you shouted as you walked into the house “and I brought goodies”

To say this was grown ass men you were dealing with, you had never seen them run as fast down the stairs from the office to see what you brought.

“Fucking children” you laughed.

“What you got Querida” Nestor grinned.

“White chocolate hot chocolate and a cinnamon swirl for nesty” you smiled passing him his drink and pastry, kissing his cheek to greet him.

“Then we have a gingerbread latte and a blueberry muffin for marcy” smiling and doing the same as you did for Nestor.

You felt your boyfriends eyes burning into your soul, before shaking his head and walking outside. One thing he was still trying to overcome was how friendly you were, and it made him jealous seeing you interact with his men.

“Mikey in a mood today?” You asked Nestor.

“He was fine until just now” he shrugged.

“Right” you said, rolling your eyes, you knew what this was about. Grabbing his coffee you wandered outside to find him sat on the outdoor sofa staring into mid air.

“You okay?” You asked sitting across from him placing his coffee and panini in front of him.

“Just fine” he huffed, making you roll your eyes.

“Doesn’t seem that way” you said sparking a cigarette up.

“You know how I feel about how you act” he sighed.

“Oh here we go” you laughed “mikey it’s just how I am, I’m not flirting with them, I’m just friendly so if you can just stop acting like a jealous idiot that would be great”

Standing up you tossed your half smoked cigarette into the ashtray before storming inside diving on the sofa and turning the TV on.

The constant jealousy was starting to piss you off, you weren’t doing anything wrong just being friendly because you knew what it was like to be treated like shit and wanted to make sure the people you classed as your family didn’t feel that way.

For the rest of the day you gave him the silent treatment.

It was now 7pm and Miguel appeared next to you wearing a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie, two cartons of food from the Chinese takeaway.

“Still giving me the silent treatment?” He asked placing the food on the coffee table before pulling your legs over him.

“Maybe” you said not taking your eyes off the TV “depends if you are gonna act like an idiot”

“Look I’m trying to work on not being jealous, you are the ray of sunshine in this family and I know you are just being kind but I don’t know it sets my insecurities on fire” he whispered as he massaged your feet.

“You’re insecure” you whispered, turning your attention to him.

“Every single day” he mumbled “like I have a little voice in the back of my head telling me you will find someone better than me and leave me. I mean you deserve better than me, I’m hardly around”

“Mikey I knew what I was getting into when we started dating 2 years ago” you whispered “I can assure you that my heart only beats for you, I only have eyes for you. But sometimes it feels like you don’t trust me”

“I’m sorry for making you feel like that” he said looking up “I will try and be less jealous”

“That’s all I ask for” you whispered placing your hand on his cheek “now come on let’s eat before the food goes cold”

Antitrust is about competition. If Nike tried to buy Reebok there would be a serious antitrust question about monopolization of the sneaker market. The issue isn't that the combined Nike/Reebok entity would be "too big" (there are lots of bigger companies than the two of them combined); it’s a specific concern that we want companies to compete with each other rather than merge and raise prices. In theory you could have an anti-competitive cartel between three very mid-sized companies, if they happened to jointly control a market in something obscure like a particular kind of gasket or what have you...

The main demand from anti-bigness advocates is actually for less competition, not more. They're upset that chain stores drive mom & pop out of business. And now perhaps they’re concerned that Amazon is driving chain stores out of business. But that's competition - mom & pop are asking for protection so they can maintain their geographically segmented local monopolies.
