The werekraken is a generational curse, indirectly caused by Craig Cuttlefish (I'll get to it). His identical twin daugthers were bit by a werekraken, thus passing that curse to them, and so on to Callie and Marie as a result. In days before the Great Turf War, The Werekraken was generally notihing more than an children's tale to get them to behave. Few really beleived in them, and sightings of anything were rare and chalked up to be a silly tall tale. For those who did truly beleive in them, it was thought that having your special activated for too long r too often would cause you to get "stuck" in werekraken form. Thus, this lead to some groups frowning upon using specials at all. Ulitmately, it's not oo far from the truth; the werekraken is caused by an unnatural increasein the horomone that activates specials, and some sea magic. (Like Little Buddy in the Return of the Mammalians.) As a result, this is very treatable, but the problem of getting the treatment is very present.

In the times of the great turf war, an werekraken octoling soldier was (unknowningly) drafted in. Cap'n Cuttlefish himself ran into her, but in the midst of the fight, took out one of her close partners instead of her.

The werekraken distraught with despair, decided to take revenge. She bites Captain's twin daughters, around 3 years old at the time. Although the girls wouldn't be able to shift into werekraken form until they were older, as the twins reached coming of age, they suffered through many of the onset symptoms, such as aches and exshaution.

Turns out I really like DJ War Crimes and his weird little relationship with the Cuttlefish family. Drawing that last one was a mistake cause it made me think of my own grandpa and I got emotional over my drawing tablet would not recommend.
