Hey folks,

My body is shit and because of my heart condition I've been given a machine to help me breathe, mostly at night but in the day too when I need it.

It's eating into my electricity (the NHS is great but they don't cover running costs.) I'm stretched thin financially as it is, so as grateful as I am that it's helping me breathe, I guess it's adding quite literally to my cost of living.

Anyway if you'd like to help me keep on top of electricity costs my PayPal is here and my Ko-Fi is here.

If you can't (or just don't want to) this isn't for you, but if you would like to do something and can't help out monetarily you could write to your local MP about the importance of the NHS because we all know it's struggling.

Wild to me that the Boeing whistleblower died of 'self inflicted' wounds on the anniversary of the Ethopian Airlines Flight 302 tragedy. You know, that one time where they lied about an entire software system by omission and killed 300+ people across TWO different crashes in one year?!

Huh. Just makes me go... hmmmm.

I've been at my current place of employment for almost two years. Have finished a qualification I was doing there as an apprentice. This means I have finished my apprenticeship and have a new contract.

...which requires a new probationary period as if I just started???

What the fuck. Anyway I had to sign the contract because I don't want to lose my job but wtf. I've been here almost two years! And now I have 6 months probation, because I completed my apprenticeship??? I did something good so I get punished for it basically?? That's what it feels like.

Anyway a bit stressed out because that means if I do anything wrong they can fire me and I really can't afford to be fired right now. However in a conversation earlier in the day they said I was really good at my job. So like?

Anyway watch me be terrified of being ill for the next six months.

Another annoying detail of Black Friday is the bombardment of emails from any company you have remotely been interested in. You thought you unsubscribed years ago, but they're back. Flooding your inbox. Literally flooding.

But they're not just on Black Friday, they've been all week... Don't miss out! Get 30% off that thing you bought for Christmas like 5 years go! What about 25% off that item you bought last week and hasn't even arrived in the post yet? You need this bargain!! Consume!

And they're even happening this weekend. With Black Friday supposedly over. The "final 24 hours, don't miss this sale". Black Friday week or whatever... Then it's online, so brace yourself capitalism is still in overdrive for Cyber Monday. Consume, consume!

It's extremely annoying in a world where you already feel bombarded with advertising.

And Black Friday is extremely new for me being British. We don't have Thanksgiving, but because companies thought they'd make money it's over here.

I’ve applied to 127 jobs so far in August alone and have nothing to show for it.

But I did find a $5 bill on the floor at the grocery store today.

I don’t want to work in academia because that shit sucks but my primary other option is working in engineering and industry and the idea of developing tech to help wealthy capitalists get richer makes me want to vomit. unfortunately basically every job serves to make the rich richer so i just have to die i guess
