they say it takes about 15-25 minutes to do, depending on how much you think about your answers

I'm NOT here to fuel Canadian nationalism (cause we srsly do not need any more of that rn) but like I do find dialectal differences between the "Standard Canadian" and "General American" accents really cool.
A Canadian would likely consider this sentence grammatically correct: I'm finished colouring with the pencil crayons, so now I'm done my homework.
An American (minus a handful of eastern states) would likely word it like this: I've finished coloring with the colored pencils so now I've done my homework
The ability to say "I am finished or I am done" (as opposed to saying I have finished or I am done with) is actually a remnant of Scottish influence on the language. In parts of Scotland it is actually grammatically acceptable to say "I am started" too.

Being concise at university is important; avoid being too wordy. Using the least amount of words to fully get your point across works best. Practice this by telling a story using only 12 words. Do Canadians Really Say 'Eh'?
Canadians are widely known for a few things: playing hockey, being polite, and saying 'eh?'.  But how is it that attaching 'eh' onto the end of a sentence became a Canadian-ism?  Elaine Gold has traced it's usage back to at least the 1950's, where it began as a substitute for 'what?'. By 1959, it had become so identifiably Canadian that "immigration officials [used] it as an identifying clue." However, usage of 'eh' can be heard in a wide range of English-speaking countries such as the UK, Australia, etc: therefore it's not the usage of 'eh' itself which is Canadian, but the extent and context of it's use. The defining characteristic of the Canadian 'eh' is it's versatility. It can signify statements of fact, questions, commands, insults, accusations, emphasis, exclamations, and even more. Johnson suggests that by attaching 'eh' onto one of these acts of speech it reduces the officiousness which might accompany a command or insult for example.
Other English-speaking countries may also use 'eh', but to us it means so much more.
