Analysis: Owning a home is super expensive, but is a 3D printed home any cheaper? Probably not right now, but it does have less of a carbon footprint...maybe

During the course of my research, I can’t include my own biased nature in the statement that owning a home is expensive; the land taxes kill my soul here in sunny Southern California as I try to figure out where (and why ?!) my money goes every month along with my monthly mortgage. Currently, during the analysis phase, I have been looking at the websites of the main companies that manufacture 3D printed homes.

Always doing my due diligence, as well as, satiating my own curious nature, I am even taking a tour of the new 3D printed luxury home development outside of Palm Springs called Rancho Mirage on March 30th.

None the less, the bulk of my analysis has been on government websites trying to understand the hidden costs of owning a home both inside and out of California. Currently, a basic model offered in the Rancho Mirage is roughly $545,000 and the most expensive is closer to $890,000.
