My Crossover Tav L'Calem Tia and @meanbossart's Durge Drow. Calem wanting to dominate this guy in sparring and otherwise because this giant man would be exactly Calem's type. (Giant and likely to try and kill him.)
I'm not sure he'd be Drow's type but even if they were just sparring hand to hand there would be injuries and L'calem would be happy.

Listen, I hate to cringepost on main, but I really want to talk about the XY rivals because they have SO much potential and I love them and I will not rest until I spread my obsessive thoughts with others so I'm gonna talk about how I would change this stupid friend group.
Tumblr media
Just to set a standard, I'm gonna write this with the female protag in mind because I always pick her but also so I don't have to constantly bounce between saying Calem (or Serena if you pick the male protag) because that would gonna get annoying real quick. So assume whenever I say Calem you could switch in Serena.
SO. Starting off, I think the core of the rivalship should be between the protag, Calem, and Shaunna, reminiscent of the BW rivals. Calem, in general, is fine. He's the rival who wants to become the champion and is the strongest in the group, other then the protag. Personally, I would probably change his team comp a bit to reflect this, but that would be for a separate post. I do think he could use a bit more pizazz, though, because as is he's a little bland. Also, give him his hat back. He looks so naked and cursed without it.
Then there's Shaunna, aka the original gay bitch. Shaunna doesn't care about becoming champion or fighting gym leaders, instead opting to get stronger at her own pace while focusing on the cute little side activities, and it's all good and fun for awhile, but she starts to get more insecure as things start getting real with Team Flare. She starts feeling like she's fallen far behind everyone else in terms of strength and like she can't really do anything to help in a dire situation, despite actually being helpful in her own way (getting the grunt blocking the entrance of the pokeball factory to move, bringing in a machine from Clemont to get further in Team Flare's base, etc). This isn't really any different from how she already is, but I think there could be a heavier emphasis on her feeling insecure about this, but also give her the change to gradually overcome that insecurity. Also, bring back contests, because she's clearly made for them and it could be, like, her main thing she gets really good at.
Then there's Trevor and Tierno, and I think they should be more like friends rather then rivals. Have them be assistants for Sycamore or something (since Trevor really cares about the pokedex and Tierno brings you your starter). Let them be rivals towards each other rather than rivals with the protag. Let them kiss, I don't fucking care. This is the gay friend group featuring Calem as the one straight friend, and it's perfect.
I really like the idea of Trevor, since he cares about completing the pokedex, which makes him a stand out from other rivals in the series. I'm pretty sure whenever you compare dexs in game he always loses, though, which I think is lame. Let him have a certain amount of pokemon he's caught instead and make it an actual comparison. You could do some fun stuff with him, too, like have him tell the player about rare pokemon in an area or strange evolution methods to help fill in their pokedex, since he has pokemon like that on his team (orange Florges which only has a 1% encounter rate in flowers and Goodra who needs to evolve in the rain).
Tierno is another example of why contests should be brought back, because he's, like, a performer. Again, let him be more of a friend then a rival, who's just here to hang out and have fun. Actually, I think he could be kind of like a foil to Shaunna, in that he cares about the cute little side actives while getting stronger at his own pace rather then collecting gym badges, but have him embrace that. Have him be the one to help Shaunna overcome her own insecurities, and then THEY can become contest rivals. And if the player did high ranking contests, they could face off against them. It would be cute damnit, let me have this.

HI CAN I HEAR ABOUT CALEM BEAUREGARD'S CHARACTER ARC
YEAAAYY BEAUREGARD!! ok so I dont have some of the finer details pinned down so thisll probably be like broad strokes..
calem starts out as the annoying mean rich prick who thinks theyre above everyone else. the most asshole rival to ever rival. vaniville squad's first impression of them is basically calem barging into the lab unannounced, stealing a starter right infront of all of them (because they think they deserve it more bc theyre sycamores nephew. and also classism) and then calling them all ugly and poor and leaving.
over most of the early plot they stay mostly assholeish and the vaniville squad's encounters with them are generally kept to just a few battles. calem does get scolded by every gym leader they fight for their attitude but they just brush off their comments because why should they even care about the opinions of people 'below" them. they can do whatever the fuck they want!!
however. this all changes when at one point they get caught up in something that actually. physically harms them. badly. (I havent decided yet what exactly happens but... shh) and they get REALLY shaken up by it because it completely shatters their previous worldview that they were basically untouchable. dont worry theyre ALIVE but. yknow
and then after that point they're still kind of standoffish and rude but they start actually taking others' criticisms of them to heart and starts. changing as a person?!?! crazy. I know. and also calem starts actually Talking to the vaniville squad more instead of just insulting them whenever they get approached
over the course of their arc they also discover a passion in fashion design! calem starts thinking of appearance less like a show of wealth and more of a way of expression :D this also gives them a solid direction in life that they can pursue! they won't straight up call anyone ugly anymore but they Will still question someone's fashion choices if they feel like it HKGDFG

what was the TPP moment that gave you the most writing fuel? one that still rly sticks in ur head. (feel free to ramble)
Gosh, that's both super hard and super easy to answer! Twitch Plays Pokemon has had SOOOO many memorable moments that immediately come to mind that have captured my imagination or turned into a major part of my lore, there's just too many to name. However, there's a lot of moments that mean so much to me but I haven't written anything (or at least not published it) about those moments. I think I have fics either plotted out in my head or partially written for just about every single Randomized Run we've done because rattling the formula always brings out some of the coolest concepts and creativity within the community. Like I have an entire backstory and character arc for Lorekeeper James from Randomized Alpha Sapphire, which a lot of people fell in love with this random Bug Catcher suddenly getting boss music. Or when Trevor in Randomized Y turned out to be the Flare Admin we had to fight at the Poke Ball Factory, but then we had a crash and my heart just breaks thinking about the scene afterward where we went "back in time" to before all the kids met up at the park. And now Trevor, Calem, and Venus all awkwardly trying to pretend nothing happened while staring each other down with the utmost scrutiny as each wonders if the other two is aware of what happened. But don't worry, all this causes him to have a bit of a breakdown and soul searching before turning against Team Flare to go rescue Abomasnow. Or even as recently as Randomized Violet+ and how I've been a bit obsessed with Terra and her misadventures for the last few months and her showing up again as the host for Super Gauntlet Ruby is not helping that. Heck, Randomized Platinum was probably the biggest world building run for my lore it's one of the three establishment fics I've had partially started that I feel needs to be either written or fully explained to point to why the Haji TPP Verse is the way it is! And hhhnnngggg.... so much more...
Of course there's also a difference between the lore to come out of things (which I've written for after being inspired by other authors or artists in the community) and the onscreen moments that seemed to change everything. And while I have a lot of runs I love, a few I can point to as "THIS still hits hard" are things like my very first fanfic I posted to the TPP subreddit was in the aftermath of Leech King's death. I remember being at work, plotting out an entire series that would follow Abe and the others trying to get to the bottom of who had her murdered and why, having Alakazam and Venomoth that joined around the same time being hired detectives, and ICU coming into her own as the heir to the throne and whatnot, but it didn't get very far and even looking back was pretty bad writing. I did eventually get around to writing the post game like I wanted with my Much Ado About Blue series so that's definitely continued to be a wealth of writing fuel. Heck, when I started my Connections series, the inspiration was from Faba kicking our ass eight ways to Sunday in Waning Moon and the feeling there was probably a personal connection there. But I literally only planned for like seven chapters if even that because I didn't expect myself to start novelizing the run as a way to lead up to that moment. Originally the plan was to skip between certain cutscenes to establish lore on Quips. (My doc is still simply labeled "Hau" even though the story has grown since then.) But for moments? I mostly do angst and dramas anyway, but one piece I'm rather proud of and STILL upset about is my short for the ending of Pyrite. Ugh, the bitterness and how everyone and their dog had an opinion on the ending of that run and poor Eeyup getting dropped after we finished instead of getting some kind of proper send off or victory lap. Or on the note of Evan and Azure, this spur of the moment piece that's kind of hinted at. I love when I'm archiving runs and something comes up like a Glitch or crash, or something so unexpected I just INSTANTLY get the idea and need to write a short for it.
But I must say when I read this question, the first thing that came to mind was my novel for Blazed Glazed. Holy crap, this Run changed a lot of things for me. For one, being an original ROM hack means there's an entire world that has been a fountain of writing fuel for me I intend to get back to eventually. Who are these original characters? What is their story? How does Tunod work? How does it connect to other games it made a guest appearance in? Team Fusion showed up in RW2 meaning there's a whole history there with these guys. I made special edits of the Team leaders. It's kind of insane because I had written stuff for other runs before, obviously, but this was like all consuming on my brain. And you know what started it off? ...I started watching the VODs because it seemed like there wasn't much talk about it for me to know what was happening. We got our starter, met with THE INVENTOR, met Blake (our NPC partner for the long haul) and suddenly there was a Glitch. I was already intrigued by the opening, but when the Inventor was supposed to follow and instead became frozen and uninteractable, my mind started running. I paused my viewing and started writing. It's by far the longest series I've written and what made it so fascinating in a way was writing as I watched meant there are several points I didn't know where the story was going. So I may plan on something, but then it didn't turn out that way so how do I rework the script to account for the unexpected character appearances? Freezes? Glitches? How about a random detour to find specific teammates? And don't get me wrong, like most games, the actual plot can seem vague or even silly in the writing sometimes, but then that makes it fun to try to flesh out what the deeper reasoning could be for why something is happening? And then tying it into the larger TPP universe has just been... ahh~ <3
Anyway, this has gotten really long but I hope that answers your question. I'm sorry this kind of turned into one big shameless plug. Dang I've written a lot, but I love this fandom so much. I can't even ;w;

The worst part of X&Y is that your rivals are only allowed one character trait, but there are genuine moments where they easily could have been so interesting. Fighting Calem/Serena for the ability to Mega Evolve is such a cool moment where everyone vows to do their best and become the best versions of themselves through your rivalry! It’s really sweet how no one is super heartbroken about it because everyone becoming better is the most important thing!
And then the game reminds you that Tierno likes dancing because that’s his character trait, and Trevor wants to complete the PokeDex because that’s his character trait, and the moment feels... hollow.

Chapter 12- Part 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright sir, no need to be so dramatic about it, let’s just get this done-
Tumblr media
So yeah, Noibat shall henceforth be known as Decibel! Another sound-theme named!
Something else funny about that name, “Decibel.” You know how, in just about every Pokémon game- from the mainline games to even a lot of the spinoff games- the main characters have canon names? There’s the most famous example of Red in the original Gen I games, but there are other examples- Brendan and May in Gen III, Calem and Serena in Gen VI, Rei and Akari in Legends: Arceus, etc.
Pokémon fan games don’t tend to be different, as far as I’ve seen- like, Pokémon Insurgence’s main characters’ canon names are Wyatt and Nichole, for example. And Reborn is no exception! Indeed, all six avatars have canon first names, last names, and genders- like, the one with the long blonde hair? That’s canonically a lady named Alice Winthrop. And the avatar I chose is, canonically, a nonbinary person named Decibel No-Last-Name!
…Not kidding, by the way, they’re the only protagonist without a canon last name, for…some reason. But either way, I knew there was something special about that avatar! Maybe that was what compelled me to choose them over the others- even if the name and gender identity I use for Xera is, you know, different.
…Still haven’t come up with a proper surname for Xera yet. Maybe I’ll be hit with inspiration as I go through this play session.
Anyways, character trivia aside, we’ve still got some level-grinding to do, so- back to Grand Hall we go!
Several minutes later-
Okay this is absolute bull- the ONLY guy at the Grand Hall battle corner today is some Psychic with, like, a Mawile and a Natu that were above Lv. 20, and he didn’t even give that much money upon beating him. So like- sucks to be us, I guess, serves me right for wanting to utilize the battle corner.
Luckily, we have plenty of Exp. Candies leftover, so we can just use those to get everyone to the levels I was looking for-
Tumblr media
And there we go! I’m certain there will be Trainers to fight in the Gym itself, so that can be some extra grinding, and then we’ll go from there.
Now, with that out of the way…back to the OTS we go!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooooooh, it makes me so unreasonably happy to see the in-game characters calling my character by the proper name now! Even if it’s Fern! Look at that, it’s all coming together, it’s beautiful!
Oh, also- hi Fern. Yeah, I should’ve expected him to appear sooner or later, this is his sister’s Gym, honestly I’d be more shocked if he didn’t show up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh dear- is he salty that he didn’t get to participate in that mission?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Xera actually showed up…? Where were you when all of that was going down, if you were so eager to participate?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh no- Fern, honey, Xera’s gonna kill you of you keep talking like that, poor guy doesn’t even know what a sore subject that is for her right now-
…On second thought, I feel like if he did know, he’d still be like “she’d still be here if I was there instead.” In fact- no, he’d double down on that if he got a visceral reaction from Xera, he definitely strikes me as the kind of person to be like “oh, struck a nerve, didn’t I? >:)”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, if it’s a battle you want, I’m down- I aced your salty face once already, I can do it again! I’m smarter now than that first time!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gate…? Wait, he’s physically blocking her out? Geez, he’s going all out for this, he really is salty about not being at the Park!
Tumblr media
No no, you explained very clearly why you’re doing this-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know, it’s almost like Fern’s trying to upstage Cain in terms of how dramatic he can be- and that’s not a good thing.

This was a superb story! Pokemon Masters has been rather good about making interactions between characters who normally wouldn't have the chance to do so in the main series canon, and The Revel In Rivalry Event was no Exception" I really enjoyed how it started off with the (eventually former) mean rivals all together to battle. Props to Bede for having the balls to challenge both Silver and Blue at the same time with his Hatterene. Of course, he lost, but Silver and Blue both saw his potential and commended him for it And of course, this goes straight to Bede's head. I really love how Blue immediately tries to put those arrogant flames out which is no doubt him seeing his younger self in Bede at the very moment. Bede doesn't take this too well, but it leads to probably one of my favorite exchanges in the history of Pokemon. Even though Blue's matured, he can still be rather blunt. But being blunt isn't (always) a bad thing as sometimes dealing with someone like Bede needs more of a blunt approach. While Bede is rather stubborn about toning down his overconfidence he does at least take Blue's offer to join the tournament. It made me really happy to see him on a team with two of my favorite rivals Wally and Hugh. While Hugh is definitely not a mean rival he is rather no non-sense and I loved how he and Bede clashed with Poor Wally on the side trying to be the peacekeeper. Then came another highlight of the story. Hop's team is Bede's team's first opponent and HOP BEATING BEDE!!! Everyone who wanted Hop to get some sort of revenge for that sweep and crushing speech in the wild area can now rest easy. Even if it was a team battle, Bede still lost to Hop so it counts. It was really nice to see how after the loss, both Bede and Hugh got a bit of mentorship and advice from other trainers on Pasio which led to them coming to a temporary truce the day of the tournament. Seeing Bede and Marnie interact with Marnie imparting some useful wisdom on to Bede about fighting for something greater than himself was heartwarming. And of course Gladion, much like Blue cut straight to the chase and accurately reading the situation. Meanwhile we have Hugh getting mentored a bit by Cheren and Bianca. It was nice to see Hugh be reminded that he has to work on compromise. I can totally relate to Hugh in not wanting to work with or compromise with someone I don't mesh with and having to be reminded of teamwork. I love it when we get scenarios like this were both sides have to work on their own flaws. The Team Break part of the story I thought was a really nice way to tie loose ends. Seeing Gladion on Team Break's tail and making sure Wally, Bede and Hugh were caught up to speed. It was also hilarious to see Blue with the three Team Break grunts trying to attack him but he just manages to irritate the crap out of them with just a single sentence. But the really heartwarming part of this was seeing Bede and his team coming to check on Blue. It shows that despite Blue's blunt words at the beginning Bede still respected him and cared enough about his well-being. Hugh even gets to use his iconic "You're about to feel my rage!" line on the grunts. And it gets even better with Hop, Hau, Calem, Marnie, Gladion, Silver and Barry all coming together to take team break down. We even get to see it all end off with Bede's signature snap! I just really enjoyed this little story arc and I hope we get to see the rivals interact more like this in game!

Sync Pair Retrospective - Kalos Neo Champions
This was such a mixed event for me. On the one hand, this is the best outfit Serena has. I love her hair, I love the blue, it's perfect. On this same hand, this is some of the best writing DeNA ever produced. The focus on Calem's rivalry with Serena leaving him feeling like he doesn't measure up, and wanting to push himself to do better so he can stand on equal footing with her, actually held weight. I generally don't like the confirmation of which protagonist is "canon," but one of the only times they do, and they nailed the emotional significance of the other side having literally never won. And when he does get his win, the whole event feels like this big accomplishment, like everyone involved has finally made it.
On the other hand, Greninja. God I hate this frog. Also, no other NC event has lived up to this one. Not even close. Galar NCs were fine but I'm still pissed about Opal, while Kanto NC event couldn't stop sucking Red's dick long enough to remember how Blue's character worked. I'm kinda sour on Neo Champions, despite how much I love the concept.
Neo Champion Serena Serena remains top Water. "But SS Lys-" no really, I need you to trust me on this one. Serena is obscenely good. Low gauge cost, fast self-setup with little to be desired, powerful Water and Dark-type sync that ranks well above the competition, rebuff application for both types, hilarious levels of debuffing on Water, flinch and accuracy debuffing on Dark, etc etc etc. Serena wanted for very little.
Truth be told, I have little to say as well. Nothing has seriously competed with Serena in what she set out to do. She's insane. And in a few days, datamine very well may show us they handed her the Strike Role, and now I legitimately don't think there's any stopping her. If anything, she just got better when SS Lysandre entered the picture, because now she had someone she aligned perfectly with. His Buddy move evaporates sides, her sync deletes center, and both are powered up further by Kalos Pride. What possible limitation is there to be found with her? Even outside of the Water situation, Serena has Dark at her disposal as well. Despite that type being loaded with powerhouses, Serena keeps up perfectly, and if she receives that Strike role, NC Marnie is frankly out of a job. That's how disgusting NC Serena is. This is going to get a buff soon. Not Anni Lillie though, apparently. The meta is unfair.
In spite of that though, I barely use Serena. I legitimately think there's some kind of brain block that prevents me from using pairs that I think are actually too good at what they do. It's like how I never really use SS Lyra or NC Marnie, I just can't bring myself to do it. It's no fun.
Neo Champion Calem Calem, by comparison, kinda sucks. Oh, don't give me that, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Calem had tremendous value as a role compression support. Not just Rain, but Dark Zone, could be called. Considering only SS Cyrus had this ability before, and SS Cyrus has never rerun, Calem had tremendous value. There's just one teensy tiny problem. The conditional was 10 hits on opponents. Which meant, unless he was running with NC Serena, that condition isn't going up until it's time to sync. Which is completely unhelpful. This is the crux of what makes Calem so frustrating: he has these two tools, but they're inaccessible until the fight drags out a little. His buddy move is a nice injection of stats, but with Team Sharp Entry at 3/5 he can't cap crit, and neither offensive stat moves to cap either. He also messed up, going for Special Moves on Rain and Physical on Dark, when the inverse at the time was the better call. Even now, Special on Rain was a mistake; he does not at all compete with SS Kris for rain dominance. He's far more frail, and lacks her healing potential. And to make his life worse, one of his big benefits was that he buffed both offenses and crit pretty quickly. That was something! Well, it was, until NC Bede dropped, and copied most of his stat boosts on a 2MP move that also gave both kinds of Moves Up Next per use and refreshed every sync and also rotated Free Moves Next and could do SEUN on all allies. Bede put a lot of people out of work...
Thankfully, all he had to do was wait a week and his fortunes were reverse, thanks to SC Zinnia. SC Zinnia has X Atk All, and thus between the two of them, they cap the entire team's physical offensive needs in one turn, while also setting Rebuff. Zinnia's Buddy move hits AoE and flinches, which is fantastic for stealing an extra turn for Calem to ensure his Buddy move goes up with first sync. Pretty much any physical Dark type could fill in and the team would still work. This was a surprisingly powerful answer to NC Marnie's dominance, literally one month later. I switched to Zinnia and never looked back; this was so much more fun. And with Akari, we've now entered a situation where Dark Zone can be called at any time for this team, and Calem supplements later on. They're stronger than they've ever been, and are a huge part of what makes Dark so dominant. It's hard to beat 70% flinch rates, stealing all buffs then preventing them, perpetual Dark Zone, massive DPS on Akari, massive sync on Zinnia, and Calem throwing in Team Endure and evasion boosts. Yes, I know people will run Marnie as the third and Akari as the tank, and it works in CS. I like the bullshit of evasion. But I do see the appeal.
The point is, Calem came around to be really good, and it was kind of exciting. Which is why it's so disappointing his EX Role is Tech. This dude was perfect for either Field or Sprint, and they went with Tech. Hysterically disappointing. Guess we can't expect much good for Supports from these EX roles.
Final Thoughts Kalos NCs were huge, and remain huge. While I dunked on Calem all day on his release, he did have some good traits, and has since been elevated to a position on one of my favorite team compositions. That said, I do think that teams succeeds almost in spite of him, with SC Zinnia doing most of the heavy lifting there. I think the two are fairly lopsided in that regard. Serena's exceptional on both fronts, and has a ton of traits beyond just damage that will keep her relevant long into the figure. Calem is good but feels like he's just waiting to get outclassed. The Rain/Zone combo will keep him relevant, but that Buddy conditional really does him no favors.

Note
since you love the platonic pairs so much any other platonic pairs in pokemon that you have?
Anon you are so dope for sending this ask I hope masarap ulam mo ngayon uvu
Anyways ouo
I'd say the Kanto trio and the Johto trio but like I also wanna say they're also a polycule and Silver and Green are fighting on who has the better polycule, Red and Gold are placing bets, Blue is filming the entire battle, Kris just gave up halfway through and is honestly just hoping Silver somehow leaves unscathed
Hoenn kids on the other hand?? Fighting the Unova kids on the best friend group. Like the Hoenn kids there's Brendan and May and Wally and Lisia and these four have one working braincell and for some reason it's Brendan who's the one holding it. May has the most issues and she wants to spite her father so ofc Lisia, being the lil shit that she is, was the one who told her to beat the Frontier Brains and rub it in her father's face she's better. Wally is honestly just so supportive of everyone and Lisia got so attached to him and got so happy when she saw Wally also had an Altaria. Brendan is the one keeping them all together, he can't leave the other three for more than a minute bc the next thing he knows they're off to fight god
Hoenn kids basically just
Brendan, seeing a bunch of people doing smth stupid: hah, what idiots
Brendan, squinting and seeing May, Lisia, and Wally: wait shit those are my idiots!
Sinnoh trio also great friends, they're all close w each other and I know for a fact Dawn and Barry would visit Lucas in Sandgem to distract him from his work. Like Barry looks at Dawn when he's bored and goes "hey wanna piss off old man Rowan by taking Lucas away from that boring old lab?"
And Dawn, who has nothing better to do, just goes "bet."
Lucas keeps them in check. Well. Tries to. It's hard keeping the other two in check bc they see anyone looking at them and it's just "HEY YOU! LETS BATTLE!" Ofc, Dawn is more,, well, more calm, but Lucas knows that she's as bloodthirsty as Barry when it comes to battles, she's just really good at hiding it. Lucas isn't a good battler, he admits that and he doesn't really mind, as his field of work doesn't really require him to battle, but Dawn and Barry were insistent that he should at least have six pkmn w him. Lucas said it was alright, but still yknow, that made Dawn and Barry a bit protective towards him
We all know abt my Unova kids hcs so hey, let's just go to the Aspertia kids hahah idk what to call their friend group so like,, Unova kids 2, yeah. So Unova kids 2 there's Nate, Hugh, Rosa, and Roxie. Look, listen, listen, they're as tight knit as the Unova kids okay, they're like the epitome of a great and healthy friend group too, they love each other so much, Nate honestly needs a break every one in his friend circle is thirsty for a battle pls someone give this boii a relaxing vacation in Undella. Hugh and Rosa would battle each other everytime they see each other to see who's the strongest now, it always ends up tied. Roxie would join in on those battles and it'd end up as double battles w Hugh and Rosa on opposing sides.
Your honour pls they're also soft w each other okay, like Nate, Hugh, and Rosa would always be at the front row of Roxie's concerts, they cheer so loud for her that it's on par w how loud her music is. She gives them her albums for free too, ofc she does, and they love her music so much. Also pls the four of them in the Battle Subway, having lil challenges on who can get to the Subway Bosses first
W the Kalos kids, ngl I honestly don't see them as that,, that close idk hahah like yeah they're friends yknow but like, not as close as the ones previously mentioned. I hc for Calem to always fly solo, and like, his friends are cool yknow, but he's just not as attached to them nor does he hang out w them that much. I do wanna say he's close to Serena just a bit, and she's probs the only one who knows why he doesn't hang out w them much, and hey she doesn't really fault him for it, she understand, that's just how Calem is
The more I think abt it May and Calem are kinda similar in my hcs, cause they're both from different regions that just moved in to Hoenn/Kalos, but like the difference is May actually managed to make friends and has her own friend circle she can trust, whereas Calem only had the surface level of friendship w the Kalos kids, as they already know each other that well and it feels like he's missing a lot of things abt them that at this point he couldn't be bothered to know
Alola has a lot of kids man and they're all pretty fuckin close and like, man, Kukui needs a goddamn break these kids take years off his life hahaha like he's a chill prof yknow, he's cool, but also, those are his kids at this point and they don't have one working braincell between and he honestly thought that at least Gladion or Lillie would hold the braincell but nah they get pulled in on their friends' antics that Kukui really has to keep an eye on them. He tasked the Trial Captains to at least keep watch but let's be real only Kiawe reports back to Kukui, most of the time, some times he'd be dragged to their hijinks too and as much as he denies it, it's fun not being stressed over his duties as Trial Captain
Small quick edit: not me being an idiot and accidentally posting this💀
Anyways omf Galar kids hcmdnd
Right okay so, in my hcs Victor is like, Gloria's older brother by at least two or three years so he went on a journey before her. So that left Gloria w Hop and look, listen, these two bond over the fact that their parents probs like their older brothers more. I mean ofc, Hop's brother is the champion, undefeated in Galar since he was ten, and Victor was one of the few to actually go through the Isle of Armour and get himself an Urshifu, and he may not be champion but w his strength he might as well be one. And the two bonded over that, that they always had smth to prove to everyone else, that they're as great as their bros, and the way they bond is basically just them trauma dumping on each other. But yknow, as they went on their journey, they became even closer and didn't let their insecurities get the better of them, and they end up just encouraging each other to do their best. Your honour pls these two are also really soft like Gloria would drop kick anyone insulting Hop. Bede probs insulted Hop once and while Gloria knows Hop is capable of defending himself, no one fucking calls her bestie weak. Their dynamic is really just Gloria going "hey bitch, he asked for no pickles"
Paldea kids well they already are a great friend group in canon so hey, not much to say, they're like the Unova kids ig hahaha

Pokemon XY Game Rewrite (what if story) WIP
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: this is not meant to flaunt my ideas and say that they're better than the canon pokemon game. it's a fun what-if story.
What if:
The kalos starters got mega evolution forms.
The kanto starters were given kalosian forms (introducing the regional variant forms idea that was used in Pokemon Sun and Moon into Pokemon XY).
Team Flare was a vigilante group who kills criminals in Kalos and they were introduced early in the game?
There was a second evil team in the game. They'll be criminals who want to take over Kalos. they will also be fighting team flare and all of that. Their name will be Team Glacier and Team Flare will be fighting them in the game to reflect their whole "Evil can't be cured. Only killed" mentality and reflect how Lysandre will stop at nothing to kill criminals in the world. He'll still go through with using the Ultimate weapon to kill everyone, even criminals because he thinks it is a necessary sacrifice.
The Rival (Serena/Calem) joined Team Flare because Lysandre manipulated them into joining to get rid of all of the criminals in Kalos and the world but leaves out the part where he'll kill everyone, even innocent people and Pokémon to do so. They also join because team Glacier killed their parents.
Shauna, Tierno, & Trevor had the Kanto starters but the starters have Kalosion forms.
Diantha had a Diancie as her Ace Pokemon that mega evolves.
Diantha plays a role in helping you fight Team Flare in the story
Gurkin dies in the end part of the game and Korrina is left to continue his duties or whatever as a Guru?
Lysandre has Pyroar as their ace pokemon that has a mega evolution form?
Another evil team is introduced in the game that Team Flare fights. You will also be fighting them in some parts of the game.
There were other mega evolution trainers scattered around Kalos that you could battle (similar to Pokemon Let's go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee because that was a cool concept).
Xerneas and Yveltal get mega-evolution forms:

These are my ideas:
Froakie, Fennekin, & Chespin will still be starters but in this, AU they can mega evolve.
Calem's dream: become kalos champion/policeman.
Trevor's dream: become a Pokemon Professor.
Shauna's dream: Become a Pokemon Photographer.
Tierno's dream: become a Professional Dancer.
Shauna's starter: Kalos Bulbusaur (grass and fairy type).
Tumblr media

Trevor's starter: Kalos Charmander (dragon and flying type).
Tumblr media
Credit: CriticaLink on Reddit
Tierno's starter: Kalos Squirtle (water and fighting type).
Tumblr media

Rivals starter: depending on which starter you choose, they'll pick one with a elemental type that is strong against yours.
Lysandre's ace pokemon will be a Pyroar that will also be given a mega evolution form. Lysandre's ace being a pokemon from a different region didn't feel right, so it'll be Pyroar.
Tumblr media
credit: Amazen-megas on Devianart
The things that'll remain the same will be:
Main rival: Calem/Serena (depending on whether you choose to play as a boy/girl. throughout this story, I'll call them Rival for short, just to save time in writing).
Rivals: Trevor, Shauna, Tierno will still be your rivals as well.
Customisation: You still get to choose to be a boy or girl that you can customise and give them a name.
Champion: It'll still be Diantha but she'll be more active in helping you fight team flare in the game. Her ace Pokemon will be Diancie, a rare mythical pokemon from the Kalos region that can mega evolve. it would be cool if she fought with more kalos pokemon and having her ace pokemon be a pokemon from kalos instead of her ace being a pokemon from the Hoenn region. It didn't feel right making her ace be a hoenn pokemon. Also, her Diancie can mega evolve too. I thought it'd be cool to have a champion for the 1st time who has a rare mythical pokemon on their team to fight you in the game or whatever.
Pokemon XY story part 1:
At the beginning, you still meet your new friends as normal who tell you to meet them at Aquacorde Town.
You pick your starter pokemon and Rival picks their starter with the elemental type that's strong against yours. Trevor hands you and Rival a Pokedex.
Once you've picked your starter (Froakie, Fennekin or Chespin), Rival will ask you to fight them. Shauna will also ask you to fight her, too but Rival beats them to it. Rival suggests that they all fight each other (think of it as a triple threat match but insert pokemon instead of people).
You and Shauna lose. Shauna compliments Rival on how good they are at battling and you too since you almost beat Rival.
You tell your mom that you're off on your journey as normal. As you leave you see Shauna waiting by the gate. She asks if you're excited to start your journey. You say yeah and head out.
Rival teaches you how to catch a Pokemon as normal and proceeds further down the route to train or something.
On the route to Santalune forest, Trevor and Tierno will ask Rival to fight them. Rival sees you and asks if you wanna join in and fight Trevor and co in a double battle.
Trevor fights with Kalosian Charmander and Tierno fights with Kalosian Squirtle. You and Rival win. Trevor and Tierno compliment you both on your battle strategy.
They heal your pokemon and proceed further into the forest to catch pokemon to gather data into the Pokedex for Prof.Sycamore.
Tierno will be training his pokemon too and doing a small mini performance with his pokemon in front of the friendly and less violent pokemon in the forest who are interested in seeing him perform more.
Tumblr media

He befriends a kalosian Pikachu (electric and fighting type) and adds it to his party (it'll evolve into a kalosian Raichu later on in the game).
Rival fights trainers in the forest to get stronger. catches a Fletchling. Trevor catches a Bunnelby?Shauna takes photos of Pokemon and sees a Scatterbug. She catches it.
All of you leave Santalune Forest. Once you're out, Rival says that they need to do some training so their ready to fight the Santalune City Gym Leader so he leaves. Trevor says that he needs to try catch more Pokemon to fill up the Pokedex.
Tierno says that he'll help Trevor with that and train his team too while he's at it. Shauna says that she'll train after she goes ahead to Santalune City to take pictures of the scenery.
In Santalune city, Shauna fixes Viola's camera. viola thanks her. Shauna shows pics she took in the forest. Viola compliments her pictures (hint at her being a photographer in the postgame stuff).
When you go to train on the route that leads to Santalune City, you'll see Rival training alone on a small patch of tall grass (somewhere on the route) and a small scene starts to unfold.
They play a video recording where 2 people (a man and a woman who resemble Rival) are telling them how to battle (you see that the recording is old like it was recorded years ago).
After Rival wraps up the training session, they see you and ask how much of that you saw. You say everything.
Rival: Those were my parents. They were Pokémon Trainers. I learned everything about battling from them. They were awesome.
You: Were?
Rival says: My parents...passed away.
You: I'm sorry for your loss.
Rival: Sorry, can we change the subject. I really don't want to talk about this.
You agree and chat about something else as the scene ends. Somewhere in Santalune City, you see Tierno dancing with some breakdancers who are impressed by his dance moves and they clap for him.
Tierno sees Rival and greets him. He says that he was just taking a break from training and helping Trevor catch Pokemon. He says dancing is his way of taking a break. You compliment him on his dance moves and he thanks you.
The breakdancers ask him for another dance battle. Tierno asks you if he can excuse himself and has a dance battle with one of the breakdancers (this was just put to foreshadow Tierno becoming a Dancer as the Post-game stuff roles. Also wanted to flesh him out a little).
There will be a Pokemon library in Santalune city... somewhere. You'll find Trevor studying different Pokemon. He says hello to you and says that he was just studying some Pokemon in these books.
He was trying to see if he could find a book on Xerneas and Yveltal: the legendary pokemon of Kalos. Trevor offers some information on them saying that Xerneas is the Pokemon that protects life and Yveltal is the bringer of death (some lore to put early in the game instead of you learning about it from AZ late in the game. If the game does tell you about them early then nevermind).
As you head to the Santalune City Gym, Rival appears and asks you to battle them. Rival battles you with their Fletchling first, then their Starter Pokemon.
You win and Rival thanks you for the battle. Rival gives you the Rollerskates instead to thank you for battling them. When they leave, they get a holo caster message that they read immediately. They say: "What... Understood." Then they leave the scene.
I have to end it. Part 2 will come soon.

[A memory taking place not long after the last one. Serena is leading Calem through Santalune Forest. They're still holding hands, Calem clearly scared that if he lets go of Serena she'll dissapear again.]
["Serena, where are we going?" Calem asks.]
["You'll see." Serena says impishly.]
[Calem does see as a few moments later they emerge into a bright forest clearing. Calem shields his eyes from the blinding light with his free arm. As his eyes adjust to the light he sees what Serena wanted to show him: an old treehouse situated in a massive tree at the center of the clearing. Serena lets go of Calem's hand and does a little twirl before holding out her hands to the side like a host presenting the new car you're not gonna win on Wheel of Fortune... or something. I dunno I don't watch those shows.]
["Woah!" Calem says in amazement.]
["Isn't it amazing!" Serena asks excitedly.]
["Yeah!" Calem replies. "How'd you find this place?"]
["I was just wandering through the woods when boom! Treehouse!" Serena explains.]
["Cool." Calem says, still filled with wonder. "But... shouldn't we get back home?"]
["Back home?" Serena asks. She shakes her head. "No way. I'm never going back home. You shouldn't either. We should just live here."]
["But... what about our friends? And school?" Calem asks.]
["They can come live here too." Serena replies. "And who cares about school. What has it ever done except teach us useless math and be mean to us."]
["Serena, is this about the fight you had?" Calem asks, taking a step towards his best friend. "Those kids don't know what they're talking about."]
["I know, that, Calem!" Serena shouts. She turns around and lowers the brim of her hat over her face. Despite her attempts "But it doesn't matter. Everyone agrees with them."]
["I don't." Calem says, walking over and placing a hand on Serena's shoulder. "Neither does Shauna. Or Tierno. Or Trevor."]
[Serena cups both her hands over the one Calem placed on her shoulder. "Maybe you should. You know everybody hates me. And they hate you because they hate me. If you just stopped hanging out with me then-"]
[As Serena speaks Calem removes his hand from her shoulder. He takes a few steps back and then tackles her to the ground mid-sentence, knocking both of their hats off.]
["Ow!" Serena shouts, wriggling around and pushing Calem off of her. "What was that for!"]
["You were being stupid." Calem says, standing up again. "So I tackled you."]
[Serena laughs and wipes the tears out of her eyes. She stands up. "I guess I was being pretty stupid. But not as stupid as you."]
[She tackles Calem and catches him in a headlock, giving him a noogie. They both laugh as they lay there on the ground.]
["See! I cheered you up!" Calem says inbetween laughs, sitting up.]
["You're a total dork, you know that?" Serena replies, also sitting up.]
[Calem swats at her. "Shut up."]
[They both giggle some more. Neither of them says anything else until their giggling subsides. Calem slides over closer to Serena and puts his arm around her.]
["Listen," He says. "I'm never going to stop being friends with you. And neither will any of the others. Doesn't matter what anybody says, you're my sister and there's no changing that."]

Harmonize
Following the New Stars of Pasio tournament, Hau, Hop, and Hugh have a little chat and get to know one another.
Length: 2,007 words
If you’d prefer: [Read on AO3] [Read on FFN]
"Pancakes," Hop repeated. He pulled his feet up onto the edge of the fountain, sitting cross-legged so that he could turn and look Hau in the eye. "That's why Alolan Raichu are Psychic-type?"
"Yep!" Hau said, leaning back on his hands. "That's what everybody says, anyways."
Hop folded his arms. "That doesn't make any sense. I've eaten loads of pancakes in my life, and I haven't developed psychic powers."
Hau burst out laughing, and Hop fought to keep a straight face. After a few moments, he dropped his arms and started snickering, too.
"Who knows? There could be something different about their diet in Alola that leads Pikachu to evolve differently there," Hop said.
"Maybe you can do research on them and figure it out for sure!"
"Hey," someone called, catching Hop and Hau's attention. Hugh was approaching the fountain, holding up a Poryphone. "One of you guys drop this? Found it on the ground just outside the arena."
Hop patted the familiar blocky shape of his Poryphone, which was resting in his jacket pocket. "Not mine," he said.
"Not mine, eith…eh?" Hau patted his pockets, blinking. He swung his backpack off his back and poked around inside, but there was no phone to be found. "Oh, that must be mine! Thanks!"
He stood up, swinging his backpack back around and taking the phone from Hugh. He unlocked it and winced. "Screen's cracked," he said. "I'll have to ask Sophocles to fix it later. I wonder how it fell out of my pocket?"
"Probably flew out at some point while you were jumping and cheering," Hop said. "You did it for every team in the tournament!"
Hau laughed. "Well, yeah! Everyone battling in the tournament did great!" He nudged Hugh. "You guys especially! Your teamwork was way better than when we battled you a few days ago."
"Thanks," Hugh said, giving him a curt nod. "It's too bad we didn't get to fight your team in the tournament proper. I would've liked to prove to you exactly how strong we are."
"Hey, who says we can't do that right now?" Hop said, pumping his fists. "Let's have a battle and see whose team is really the best!"
"But, Hop, Calem went back to the PMC already," Hau pointed out. "And the rest of Hugh's team isn't here, either."
"That's fine," Hugh said. "I'll take you on, Hop, one-on-one. Let's see how strong you are on your own!"
"You're on!" Hop exclaimed, readying a Poké Ball.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Hau said, raising a hand. "I have a better idea! Let's head to the bakery for some malasadas instead!"
"Or, you could go to the bakery and bring us back malasadas while we battle," Hop suggested.
"Aren't your Pokémon still tired from the tournament?" Hau asked, glancing between the two.
"No way. Bouffalant is still raring to fight," Hugh said.
"Zamazenta may be a little tired, but that's not enough to slow us down," Hop declared.
"Oh. Well, okay, then! What kind of malasadas do you want?"
"Sweet for me!" Hop said.
"I don't really care," Hugh said, shrugging.
"I'll pick something for you, then," Hau said. As he started jogging towards the shopping district, he called, "I'll be back in a jiffy! Have fun with your battle!"
There was no line at the bakery, so Hau bought the malasadas quickly. On the way back, he made only a brief stop outside the bakery to label them. Even so, by the time he returned to the fountain plaza, Hop and Hugh were standing and chatting, their Pokémon nowhere to be seen.
"Hey!" he called, waving to them. Hop waved back.
When he reached them, he asked, "Is the battle over already? Who won?"
"I did!" Hop beamed. "A Normal-type against a Fighting-type. It was no contest, really."
"At least Bouffalant and I know what we need to work on now," Hugh said.
"Awesome! Wish I could've seen it," Hau said with a sigh. But his demeanor immediately brightened as he held up the bag of malasadas. "Hey, now we can unwind with piping hot malasadas!"
Hau led the way to a picnic table on the edge of the plaza, where Hugh and Hop sat down on one side while Hau sat down on the other. He put the bag down on the table and started pulling malasadas out of it. He glanced at the wrappers before placing one in front of Hop, one in front of Hugh, and the final one in front of himself.
"Thanks, mate!" Hop said, pulling his malasada out of the wrapper and taking a bite. His face immediately puckered up, and he spat the bite of pastry into the empty wrapper. "Hau, I asked for sweet!"
"I ordered you a sweet one…"
"That's not sweet," Hop said, eyeing the malasada as if it had personally attacked him.
Hau's brow furrowed, and Hugh bit into his own malasada. He swallowed it, grimacing. "Mine's sweet," he said. "A little too sweet, if you ask me."
"Oh, I know what happened," Hau said, hitting the heel of his palm against his head. "I mixed 'em up and mislabeled them! Hop, you must've gotten Hugh's sour malasada!"
"Yeah, it's really sour," Hop said, wrinkling his nose.
He swapped malasadas with Hugh, took a bite of the new malasada, and grinned. "Mmm… That's the stuff!"
Hugh took a bite of his new malasada, and his eyes widened slightly. "Man, this is delicious! The sweet dough with the sour filling is a great combination."
Hau grinned. "See? It's just like I always say: if you think you don't like malasadas, you just haven't found one with the right filling!"
"Thanks," Hugh said. "How much do I owe you for this?"
"Owe?" Hau echoed around a mouthful of malasada. He swallowed and shook his head. "You don't owe me anything! It's a treat!"
"Oh," Hugh said, blinking. "Well…thank you. Again."
Hau smiled wide, mouth too full of malasada to answer verbally.
"How'd you manage to mix up our malasadas, Hau?" Hop asked. "I thought you were, like, a malasada connoisseur."
"Well, I was labeling them so I could easily tell whose was whose," Hau said. "At first I was just gonna use our initials, but then I realized that wouldn't help because we all have the same first initial!"
"Hm, you're right."
Hop laughed. "What are the odds of that?"
"So, I had to go back and write the full names instead," Hau continued. "I realized it while labeling Hop's, but I went back and labeled Hugh's first, so I must've mixed it up in my head and written Hop's name on the first malasada."
"That'd do it," Hop said.
"And you know, the funny thing is, if I'd labeled them with the flavors I would've run into the same problem," Hau said. "You guys got sweet and sour, and mine is spicy!"
Hop snorted, covering his mouth with a hand so he didn't accidentally spit out his last bit of malasada. He swallowed, balled up his wrapper, and stood up. "I'll take your trash," he offered. Hau and Hugh gave him their trash, and Hop took it all to a trash can nearby.
When he got back to the table, Hau and Hugh were looking at him expectantly. "Hop, how long have you known Hau?" Hugh asked as Hop sat down. "Hau doesn't remember when you guys met."
Hop raised an eyebrow. "Hau, we met six days ago," he said. "The day we got the team assignments for the tournament. How do you not remember that?"
"I heard about you as soon as you arrived on Pasio!" Hau protested. "And I saw you in the Pokémon Center, and around town, and…" He shrugged. "I figured we had run into each other before at some point."
"You're kidding," Hugh said, shaking his head. "You guys had never met before this tournament?"
"Apparently not!" Hau chirped.
"I'd seen him around, but I didn't know his name," Hop said.
"You guys get along so well, I figured you must've known each other before coming to Pasio," Hugh said.
Hau grinned. "Well, I get along well with everybody!"
"And I get along well with almost everybody," Hop added.
"Plus, both our names start with the same letter, so I think we were fated to be friends," Hau said.
"That means we're fated to be friends with you, too!" Hop said, giving Hugh a playful nudge.
Hugh rolled his eyes. "Sure. If that's what you wanna think."
Hau leaned forward across the table, scrutinizing Hugh. "You don't get along well with other people, do you?"
"Sure I do," Hugh said, shrugging. "If they're the kind of people I want to get along with."
Hau laughed. "You know, you remind me a lot of Gladion! You act tough on the outside, but deep down you're a really nice person."
Hugh's brow furrowed. "Is that an insult or a compliment?"
"It's a compliment, mate," Hop said, grinning. "Nothing wrong with being a little rough around the edges! It's what's in your heart that counts."
Hugh quirked a tiny smile. "That sounds like something Bianca would say." He glanced from Hop to Hau. "You guys both remind me of Bianca, actually. Friendly, cheerful, boundlessly optimistic…"
"And future Pokémon Professors," Hop put in.
"What?"
"Well, for me at least," he amended. "Bianca and I are both working as assistants to Pokémon Professors. We're aiming to be professors ourselves someday!"
"Really?" Hugh said, folding his arms. "You're a professor's assistant? You don't look like it."
Hop narrowed his eyes. "What do you think a professor's assistant looks like?"
"I dunno. Glasses, a lab coat, maybe…"
Hop elbowed him in the side. "Not every smart person wears glasses, mate. I don't, my brother doesn't… Heck, even Sonia doesn't wear glasses! And she's a full-fledged professor!"
"Okay, sorry, I take it back. Uh, you have a brother?" Hugh said, grasping for a new conversation topic.
Hop's demeanor immediately brightened. "Yeah! He's here on Pasio, too. You might've met him. Leon?"
Hugh shook his head. "Can't say I have."
"Oh, I know him! The Galar Champion, right?" Hau said. "I didn't know he was your brother!"
"That's right!" Hop beamed. "Lee's amazing. He's never lost an official match! That's why they call him the unbeatable Champion!"
"That's impressive," Hugh said. He hesitated for a moment before asking, "Have you ever been able to beat him?"
Hop smiled sheepishly. "Not one-on-one," he said. "I've won against him a few times in Multi Battles, and in team battles here on Pasio."
"I'd love to battle him," Hau commented. "I bet it would be a lot of fun!"
"Even if you lose?" Hugh asked.
"Of course! A battle's not fun just because you win," Hau said.
"Hey, you've just given me a great idea!" Hop exclaimed, jumping to his feet. "There are three of us here, right? So let's go find Lee and challenge him to a team battle!"
"That sounds awesome! I'm in!" Hau said.
"I'm down," Hugh said, standing up. "But won't he need a team, too?"
"He's got loads of friends here on Pasio. I'm sure he can find a couple of sync pairs to join him," Hop said.
"If he can't, we can always make it a two-on-two!" Hau suggested. "You and Leon versus me and Hugh!"
Hop laughed. "That just seems unfair! Lee's the strongest, and I'm almost as strong as him. Plus, we've got tons of experience battling together! You guys wouldn't stand a chance!"
"Well, if it comes to that, we can decide teams then," Hugh said. "Let's find him first. Where would he be? The Pokémon Center?"
"Knowing Lee, he could be anywhere on this island," Hop sighed. "He's pants with directions. He always gets lost. But the Pokémon Center's a good place to start!" he added, pumping his fists.
"Let's go!" Hau exclaimed, jumping up and down.
The three new friends sprinted off to the Pokémon Center, eager to experience together whatever battles awaited them.

One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of my ships is that if they’re straight, the characters tend to have a lot in common but if they’re gay, it tends to be a case of opposites attract. It’s not a perfect pattern, one of my gay ships for bounty hunter Captain Falcon pairs him with Snake from Metal Gear (I don’t know much about Metal Gear but I’m under the assumption that they have relatively similar jobs and personalities) and I ship Rose and Clara from Doctor Who because they have a surprising amount of similarities, but I want to go over some of the ones that do count:
• Falcon x Dr. Stewart: gay, dynamic can be summed up as fighterxdoctor
• Falcon x Samus: straight, both bounty hunters from Nintendo franchises with little love from Nintendo
• Samus x Peach: lesbian, literally a case of woman whose whole thing is a superior fighting ability and breaking gender stereotypes x princess who gets kidnapped at least three times a week
• Milo x Nessa: straight, gym leaders from Galar with a rivalry
• Nessa x Bea: lesbian, famous model x martial artist (it’s harder to emphasise the differences here due to them both being stoic, competitive gym leaders but I’m still counting them)
• Princia Ramode x Lily Flyer: lesbian, bored princess x fighter who doesn’t know any other way of life
• Jody Summer x Kate Alen: lesbian, basically the police x former singer who basically quit in favour of the Grand Prix
• Calem x Serena: straight, protagonists of X and Y as well as rivals if not chosen. The player and the main rival are considered the two strongest fighters in the friendship group
• Adaman x Irida: straight, leaders of rival clans who love the Eeveelutions
• Misty x Erika: lesbian, tomboy x airhead
• Megan x Audie (and by extension, any normal peppy duo): lesbian, basically the above but with a heavier focus on hyper for the peppies than tomboy
• Mewtwo x Lucario: technically other because Mewtwo is genderless but they are technically different genders to each other, Pokémon with more “mystical” powers as well as having a lot of similarities (idk I’m not gonna list them here)
• Not character-specific but I’m gonna mention Delphox x Meowscarada: not officially straight, gay or lesbian but both look traditionally feminine and are seven times more likely to be male than female so it basically counts as a gay ship, magical witch who turned witch hunting against the witch hunters x physical stage magician
• Wednesday x Enid: lesbian, literally everyone’s favourite gay trope (I’m not talking about roommates I’m talking about the goth x prep contrast)
• Natsuki x Yuri: lesbian, “tsundere” x “yandere”
• Madoka Kaname x Homura Akemi: lesbian, basically prep x goth

this is the solisverse kalos rewrite post. lysandre's motivation now is to use xerneas to "preserve the beauty of kalos" (and by that he means make all the rich attractive people immortal and leave everyone else in the dust. CLASSISM!)
and the opposing force fighting against him are a bunch of teens from small town vaniville! so. yeah. sycamore invites serena, tierno, and trevor who also live in vaniville because. uhm. I wanted them to. (shauna is explicitly not invited but she comes anyway because shes got serious fomo) to the lab to be like "see? I dont hate poor people" (and then he proceeds to brush off lysandres crimes so idk how well that one holds up)
calem is no longer apart of the original vaniville friendgroup. they are now sycamore's stuck up, spoiled, rich nephew who DOES hate poor people. outwardly (for the earlier parts of their character arc atleast they get over it) they have some self worth issues that they love hard projecting onto other people but shhhhh theyll get their own post...
uhmmm theres more but the words are currently Alluding me so ... I'll write those ideas down later. this is like the Broad strokes of where Im taking the main plot though

Random information about my Pokemon AU (Particularly about my version of Calem). TL;DR down below!:
Pokemon X/Y Spoilers Below! (I mean the games are pretty old now, but still!)
Calem is actually a bit of an oddball of an MC for my verse because while I have a couple others that aren’t super interested in people (Red and Dawn are good examples for my verse), Calem goes beyond their level.
His whole character arc revolves around him learning to actually connect and understand the people around him, and choosing to care instead of closing himself off. To stop being so cynical and paranoid of people, and instead view the beauty in humanity and the world that has been right in front of him the whole time.
He’s actually sort of a mirror to Lysandre, in a way (At least in my verse)?
Calem starts out being convinced the world is a horrible place filled with horrible people, not really wanting anything to do with anyone. Why bother, it’s “all the same” anyway. He walks his own path, and doesn’t want to be stuck dealing with people. But then he begins forming bonds with people, and realizes that he can make a positive change for the world. That he’s capable of making a change, and that it’s not a futile effort to be there and do things to help others. He also realizes that even if there’s bad in the world, there’s always good there somewhere, too. He resolves himself to doing good things for the world, humanity, and Pokemon alike. He slips up sometimes because he has to fight against the mindset he’s had for so long, but he still tries, and he improves bit by bit. He realizes his faults, but still keeps going.
Lysandre started idealistic, seeing the good in things and wanting to make the world a better place, but eventually became disillusioned and embittered by the increasing ugliness in the world. It got to the point he stopped truly caring about people, and instead views them all (or at least those that don’t agree with him) as hideous deep down. He has no hope for the world as it is, and feels he needs to take drastic, horrible measures to ensure it doesn’t “get uglier”. He can’t accept that humanity as a whole is capable of good and evil, and that the world can’t just be solely “good” nor solely “evil”. He no longer acknowledges all of the good things, cherry-picking what’s good and bad with a black and white type of perspective. None of it is a “him” problem in his eyes, it’s all on everyone else.
I honestly didn’t intend for this mirror thing going on, it just sort of happened.
TL;DR: My version of Calem is weirdly bitter for my verse, but he ends up being a mirror of Lysandre where he goes from being an antisocial jerk that hates being around people to a flawed, but good guy that’s genuinely trying to make things better for everyone, now realizing that humanity is actually good deep down, and realizing that it’s not all good and all evil.

Reunion + Finale
(it only took what 3 days or something)
The reunion starts with a reading challenge for the people that were eliminated before that but none of the reads are particularly good aside from this one
Tumblr media
Those aren't HOOVES he just has little feet
The votes for Miss Congeniality are as follows
Tumblr media
And as you may have noticed it's not even close
Tumblr media
James joins the hall of congeniality along with Lys Vlad Vlad Seraphina and Will for being a chill guy all season and also everyone agreeing he was super robbed
But we're not quite done yet because this time there's a twist
Tumblr media
We will have one more lipsync tournament before the finale and someone will be eliminated right here during the reunion because we can't have people cheating the elimination process by having a good track record RIGHT KASAI
Tumblr media
youtube
Incidentally Leo and Kasai go up against each other first and you know they want to DESTROY each other to secure that frontrunner role in the top 3
Tumblr media
Kasai's doing everything he can to redeem himself from the previous flop and Leo finds out that he's a little less prepared than he originally thought because this bitch is just hungry to take him out
Tumblr media
Kasai wins the first match and guarantees a spot in the finale while Leo will have to try again against whoever loses between Peter and Sanctus
Tumblr media
They get a song that was already used this season?????????
youtube
I mean we all wanted to see Sanctus doing this song and Peter's a fitting opponent in a way
Tumblr media
AND THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR IT
Tumblr media
But in a twist Peter claims Judas as his song and Sanctus has to go up against Leo which does basically mean that we're getting all the Leo-related payoffs this episode so you know what thanks Peter for being a producer and giving us this iconic battle
Tumblr media
youtube
This is DEFINITELY a Leo song let's see if he can beat Sanctus to it
Tumblr media
Sources can't confirm an answer because they both did TERRIBLE WHAT IS THIS
not the disrespect against janet jackson
Tumblr media
AND SANCTUS DEFEATS LEO RIGHT AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT
In the end Leo's worst fear comes true he does worse than Calem at something and gets eliminated the first time he lands in the bottom
Tumblr media
Our top 3 is finally decided, it's Sanctus Peter and Kasai
Remember when Sanctus had no high placements and Peter was the first out things sure have changed
Tumblr media
The category is best drag and once again Kasai and Peter do a fantastic job while Sanctus kinda lingers behind which could actually get her eliminated before the final performance
Tumblr media
However she manages to acquit herself and it's Peter who goes out in third place for having the worst track record
he did land in the bottom like 4 times after all but he will be known as the supreme lipsync assassin
youtube
Our top 2 is Sanctus and Kasai and it will all be decided based on this final performance
Tumblr media
AND IT'S A CLOSE ONE LET'S SEE THE WINNER ON THE NEXT POST
