Bro, when we work with social media for so long, we tend to forget we are also people, because for reasons that i could go on and on of why a certain level of impersonality is necessary, a level of distancing, never over posting or being too open.

But sometimes people reach out to you to say something real nice and i tell you, it's the best thing in the whole world.

Social media is about business. Art is about connection.

And i am an artist.

This is a phrase I just heard from Dnd shorts that captures perfectly why I often try to make the effort of commenting on posts and telling people that I enjoy their work and why Even to small creators, I advice everyone to make the extra effort to tell them, I can guarantee it makes all the difference in the world, it's not cringy or obnoxious, it'll just brighten someone's day

Thinking about Murderbot and ART again and how Murderbot is so adamant that ART is not its friend and that they can't be friends and okay fine it'll tell the stupid space ship about its traumatic past but only because it keeps pestering it! And alright, maybe ART can help Murderbot and do a little surgery on it and assist with uncovering the Dark Secrets™ of Murderbot's past but it's and asshole and NOT Murderbot's friend!!!

And then when Murderbot mentions ART to its clients on RaviHyral it just immediately goes for the word "friend"??? And I understand that it couldn't exactly say "there's this giant research transport AI in my feed that helps me pretend to be a human" but like. Murderbot, darling, you could have used anything. You're cosplaying as pretending to be a professional human security consultant, you could have said something like "associate" or "assistant" or whatEVER but "friend" just rolled right off the tongue there, didn't it?

So. I love this. The way Yuri snickers at Flynn showing his real self. The way he, without hesitation, says "yeah" to the idea that he would die in Flynn's place.

But the most important part of this entire thing, which was changed in the dub, is how Yuri specifically jokes that Flynn is trying to abandon him, and Flynn returns and tells Don he had no intention of abandoning Yuri.

Yuri does not hear this. Flynn knows that. But Flynn uses the exact same term Yuri used earlier, as if it's his answer to Yuri and saying no, I would never abandon you.

For reference:

Personally I just... love the weight of it. How Flynn will say something about Yuri that Yuri won't hear, but he still speaks it out into existence because it's how he really feels.

Just because Yuri won't hear it doesn't mean he won't say it, and in a way that's even more powerful. He's not looking for the credit of saying it. He's not looking to be recognized for saying it. He's not only expressing how he feels about Yuri somewhere that Yuri himself will hear him.

They're just his real, honest feelings, and he'll admit them even if Yuri's not within earshot.

dogs caught what i believed was some kind of black bird up until i whisked it away and realized it was a hawk or falcon chick? i had to relocate it 3 times because they kept finding it again before i finally plopped it down into our open shed which conveniently gives a little birdie plenty of hiding spots

but i was still worried about it possibly starving and it was unclear if the parents were near or not so i put down some water and leftover bird feed (even though i doubted it would probably eat it) and left it alone

checked up on it today and not only does it sound healthy, it looks like one of its parents is keeping an eye on the little guy 🙏

#it couldnt even peep anymore by the time i moved it for the last time so now that its nice and LOUD when it heard its parent fly in and out #i assume its getting fed and taken care of #i wasnt sure if i shouldve taken it to a wildlife center or not #its like? half grown i think?#and if its parents are taking care of it once it can fly im sure it'll be alright #i can pop in every few days i guess to see if its still screaming its little head off #or at least make sure my dogs dont get a hold of it anymore #poor guy was stubborn and got smacked around for a while before i eventually woke up and snatched it away #but man i wasnt sure if it was still there #i snooped around and didnt hear or see anything for a few minutes until i stood still for a bit #and saw another falcon pop in; see me; and flew right back out #but after it did that the chick started to scream lol #ur fine little buddy #oughhgh ok i stayed up way past my bedtime just to wait to go check on it #mimis time...

this dude got off the bus at the same time as me and was kind of following me so I like kept an eye on him but kept walking and bopping to fall out boy until I didn't see him anymore. then a minute later a car drove up beside me and asked if I needed a ride and I told him I was ok bc I'm like a half a block away and he said "oh ok I just wanted to make sure you were ok cause I saw that guy yelling at you" and I was like he was what???? bc I had my music up so loud I literally just couldn't hear a guy who was following me yelling. luckily he apparently got tired of me not responding and turned down a different street lmfao

#very nice of the man in the car #now viewers at home may be thinking why tf was ur music so loud if you knew you were being followed #my reasoning is 2 fold:#1st of all i find that not being able to hear someone trying to harass you makes it a lot easier to completely ignore them #and if you show no sign that youre paying attention they usually leave you alone #2nd. my toxic trait is that i dont think 1 person could successfully subdue me. even if they had a knife #and if they had a gun id say better make it a good shot #but genuinely im 5'2 and fat so people assume i will not be able to beat the shit out of them. bad assumption #im extremely strong when im angry amd would absolutely not hold back from scratching their fuckin eyes out and donkey kicking them
