Okay I have some thoughts about this drama that I need to get out cause I don’t know how to feel about it just yet
#alchemy of souls: light and shadow#alchemy rant#alchemy of souls#drama rant#so on one side i am wanting so hard for bu-yeon to regain her memories#i wasn’t sure if i would like the explanation of how they brought her back but it does make sense within their universe so that’s#an issue for me#and every time she remembers something new I’m there 👀 like a complete clown cause i know it’s too early in the story for her to actually#remember just yet#destined lovers and all that is a pretty good trope that usually works for me and probably will in this drama too#buuuuut… on the other hand this version of Bu-yeon is probably my favorite version#i liked Mu-deok a lot don’t get me wrong#but there’s something about bu-yeon i like more#so thinking about how she may change drastically when getting her memories back makes me a bit sad#they’re probably not even that different and I’m just being dramatic but still#and somehow the story of Uk finding new love would be just as good to me i think#of course they would have to explain a bit more about naksu really being dead and all that#but i really wouldn’t have been that mad if bu-yeon had been a new seperate character and a new love interest#but then again Mu-deok (and previous Bu-yeon) and Uk were such a good couple too#i really can’t decide what i want the most right now#i know of course (or y’know am pretty sure) how it’ll go#but yeah#idk how to feel just yet#either way though i will probably still love the drama so 🤷🏼‍♀️

A really big theme of part 2 is guilt and the ways that people deal with it.
Through Jin Ho-Gyeong, we get to see how guilt can make someone obsessive and hurt the person they feel guilty towards. Ho-Gyeong is feeling guilty that she didn’t recognize Mu-deok was actually Bu-yeon and that she treated her daughter horribly. She doesn’t want to lose her daughter again, so that guilt and desperation is making Ho-Gyeong obsessively try to keep Bu-yeon away from the public spotlight. She also did things to hurt her daughter, such as sewing the thread into Bu-yeon and then using it to try and call her back.
Through Dang-gu, we get to see how guilt can make you pull away from the people you love even if it hurts you. Dang-gu obviously feels guilty that he hesitated with Mu-deok and that Cho-yeon’s father died as a result. He didn’t want to keep hurting Cho-yeon, so he gave her space and avoided her. He was also in pain and hurting, but by avoiding Cho-yeon, he continued to hurt.
And then through Uk and Yul, we get to see how guilt can make you feel like you deserve to die and give up on life. Yul is feeling guilt that he didn’t speak up about Naksu and that both Uk and Naksu died as a result. Yul is feeling so guilty about what happened that he is punishing himself by not getting treatment for the blood worm. He’s also more than happy with dying because he thinks it will be a way to make amends to Uk and Naksu for what happened. And then we have Uk, who is feeling guilty that he survived but Naksu didn’t. So, he was going through the motions in life, but once he found out about Bu-yeon, he wanted the Ice Stone to be taken out so he could die and be at peace.
Out of everyone, I would say that Park Jin is probably the one who has been dealing with his guilt in the healthiest way. Even if he is horrible at cooking, he is doing something that he enjoys, spending time with the people he loves, and continuing to guide and mentor Uk, Dang-gu, and Yul even if he isn’t Songrim’s leader anymore.
It will be really interesting to see how Bu-yeon/Naksu/Yeong deals with her guilt once she realizes that she is Naksu and that she killed Uk. I think she’ll go the Dang-gu route of avoiding Uk. She’ll probably run away because she doesn’t want to hurt him again and Uk will have to chase after her.

Moon in the Day, ep 13
The more Do Ha and Yeong Hwa actually talk and learn more, their perspectives shift.
Yeong Hwa no longer convinced that Ri Ta’s choice was right and that maybe Do Ha was right in his belief that all he needed was to protect her and be by her side.
I loved Do Ha’s conversation with the monk and how the monk was able to help him see that he was never tied to this world because of resentment but for the his need to protect the one he loves.
I also love how Yeong Hwa was able to apologize for killing him and how he was able to forgive, since he knows it came out of a place of protection. Which is a very odd sentence to write but it’s also true.
They also finally did the smart thing and told Na Yeon everything. Na Yeon, has been amazingly logical about the whole situation with her friend and the ghost (though she was missing some details).
Do Ha understands that once he destroys his father, he will cease to exist. And while I don’t think he’s happy about it, I think he at least will be at peace with it. Because it means that Yeong Hwa is forever free of his father. It’s something his father cannot understand. Even at the last moment, when she killed him he told her to live.
As for how this will end - I don’t think it’ll be happy. So Ri Bu finding them at the end of ep 13 is a bit surprising but it should take a little while to resolve. The promo is likely misleading, because I don’t believe that is Do Ha. Though Joon Oh coming back would be weird. Still, I’m fairly certain Do Ha will disappear.
At most, we may get a snippet of their next life like in Bugasal or if we are extra lucky a longer bit similar to Sunny & the Grim Reaper in Goblin.

Okay I know the show is over and I promise this is last post I will make raving about my baby Cho Yeong, but I can't stop thinking about the way her character shifted the moment she got her memories back!!! And I feel like I didn't see a lot of people talking about it!!!
One thing I really appreciated was that even though she's clearly no longer the assassin she used to be, we got to see her underlying cruel streak again when she put that empty ice stone inside Jin Mu. She lured him into Gwido with the ice stone and tricked him into thinking she was helping him, allowing him to believe that he was finally about to get the power he always wanted. But instead, she condemned him to a slow, agonizing death. The way she told him that this type of death suited him perfectly and the coldly satisfied look on her face as stared down at him while he was on his knees in pain literally had me screeching!!!! I also adore the fact that Yeong knew her soul was going to disappear soon and that the fate of the world was at stake, but she still took the time to get her revenge. She was not about to let Jin Mu get away with what he did to her without facing any consequences.
And also that whole scene with the Unanimous Assembly??? We really get to see her cunning, calculating nature front and center. I was so not expecting her to tell everyone that Jang Uk failed to perform his duties by knowingly sparing a soul-shifter. By exposing him, she forces Uk's hand and ultimately gives him no choice but to come and face her. She also knows that the only reason they left him alive with the ice stone inside him was so that he could hunt down soul shifters. By telling them that Uk still has a soul shifter left to take care of, she buys him time. Once again, we see Yeong manipulating a situation and knowing exactly what to say to get the outcome she wants. I also loved the part where they ask her about Jin Mu, and she straight up tells them that she killed him. She was just like yeah I put the ice stone in him and now he's going to wither away and die in Gwido. She gave no fucks.
And we see other characters noticing that something is off with her. You could tell the crown prince knew something was different during that scene with the Unanimous Assembly. The look on his face after she callously said that she would take the ice stone out of Uk if necessary was sooooo sus.
Even though Yeong was absolutely adorable as Jin Bu-yeon, and the dark, brooding season 2 Jang Uk was very sexy, I'm so glad we got to see their season 1 dynamic at the very end. In their last scene together, Jang Uk has his bright, playful energy back and we got to see the Mu-deok glare again from Yeong!!!
But although Yeong is no longer the Jin Bu-yeon we met at the beginning of the season and Jang Uk is no longer the brooding monster, we can still see how those three years apart changed them. Uk has a maturity that he didn't have in season 1 and Yeong's time as Bu-yeon has made her more open with her affections.
It was nice to see them bickering again during their last scene and I'm obsessed with the way Yeong told Uk that he only came this far because she was his master and he better be grateful and treat her right. Like it's very clear by the end of the show that Yeong is the boss of him. She calls the shots and he would literally do anything she asked him to, and I love that for her.
In conclusion, Cho Yeong is best girl and I'm glad she got her happy ending even if the ending of the show wasn't perfect.

Finally got to watch eps 7 and 8 and y'all
Y'ALL
I gotta take another social media break bc people keep going "How could he?! I hate the Crown Prince he's evil now!! He's such a psycho/coward!! Why's he listening to and siding with Jin Mu again??"
And all I can say to them is ARE Y'ALL BLIND??
To me and my sister, it's glaringly obvious that Go Won is planning something with Jang Uk to bring Jin Mu down. Like, in your face obvious.
First clue is during his convo with Jang Uk over the golden plaque and the North Fortress.
This isn't the first time the choice between staying in Daeho vs going to the North Fortress was brought up. There is also a heavy emphasis that "going" means "not fighting" or "doing nothing". Now in ep 6 Jang Uk says "what if I do go?" bc back then he had no fight/vigor in him and Go Won outright scolds him bc that would put Daeho in grave danger.
In ep 8, Jang Uk's answer is cut off completely. In front of Jin Mu and the King, Jang Uk agrees to go, but later when he's talking to Park Jin he says that he's ready to take up the fight and asks if Park Jin will stand with him.
Why would that be other than to show that Jang Uk and Go Won are working together to set a trap for Jin Mu. By Go Won making Jang Uk "leave", it lets Jin Mu drop his guard and allows Go Won to be in better standing with Jin Mu.
Something is clearly not being shown from Go Won and Jang Uk's convo and will probably be revealed in the last 2 eps.
Jang Uk even says to Bu-yeon that he'll be back earlier than expected. Why? Because he won't be going that far away in the first place.
I also wonder what Go Won meant when he told Jang Uk to wait for the "black clouds that bring energy". Is it similar to the black clouds/smoke that forms whenever someone performs sorcery like soul shifting? Whatever it is, it must be some sort of signal or cue for Jang Uk and Songrim to attack.
Then there's the turtle. After he first saves the turtle, Go Won literally spends almost every scene he's in harping on about his special turtle and how smart it is. Did you see how worried he was when he noticed it went missing and going so far as to ask Jin Mu what happened to it. He fucking loves his turtle! Now all of a sudden he's telling Jin Mu that he doesn't really care about it?? That's so sus! And did y'all see at the end of his talk with Jin Mu how Go Won's smile dropped and how he looked at his turtle's empty nest before giving one hell of a death glare at Jin Mu?
Go Won also keeps asking Jin Mu about his secret organization and clarifies details about Jin Mu's plans. He's clearly gathering all the info he needs so he can relay that to Jang Uk. Even his face in the scene where Jin Mu was showing him the firebird earthenware just screamed "Oh so that's what you're planning?"
They're definitely trying to get Jin Mu's entire org together in one spot so they can put an end to the whole thing in one blow.
And if I'm wrong I'm going to be screaming at the Hong sisters bc anything else would be a complete waste of Go Won's character arc and the growth they've been giving him along the entire show.
That's if I'm wrong, and right now I have never felt more confident about my predictions.

Alchemy of Souls: Theories and Analysis for Eps 13-14
Hey fellow readers!
If this is your first time reading my blog, I strongly suggest you read all of my other posts before continuing to read this most recent one. They provide a clearer understanding of why I think something will happen. I know my posts can be rather long, but they do provide a comprehensive view of everything that has happen in AOS. Therefore, I will not be answering questions which I’ve already gone over in previous posts nor questions where the answers can easily be found in the episodes. These types of questions will be ignored.
If you have questions which were not already answered in my posts then please feel free to ask them! I felt that if I had spent a great deal of time in organizing and writing these posts, the least you can do is read them before asking questions. I made these posts to be very detailed because I did not want to have to answer the same questions repeatedly.
On a serious note, I would appreciate it if people would quit taking my ideas and/or theories and passing it off as their own on social media and other blogs. If you want to share my theories, then give me credit for it. Again, I spend a great deal of time on these posts. It takes time to conduct research, re-watch episodes, connect the dots, and think through everything.
Tumblr media
Ok……. wooshaaaaa……trying to find my inner peace right now!
Anyways, thinking caps on! Let’s analyze and theorize!
Keys and Reminders
Thought I should include this key just in case you all get confused when I mention certain characters’ names. I’m starting to mix up everything because there are so many names, faces, bodies, and souls lol.
Jin Bu Yeon=Naksu=Jin Bu Yeon/Naksu
Cho Yeong = Mu Deok=Cho Yeong/Mu Deok
The person you see in the show right now is Jin Bu Yeon/Naksu’s soul back in her OG body. Again, Cho Yeong/Mu Deok’s soul went back to her OG body and died. There are no 2 souls/1 body type situation.
How the Hong Sisters Have Created the Perfect Illusion
One of the main themes in AOS is illusions. How do you create an illusion if you were a scriptwriter or director? You can leave out scenes, flash fake memories on the screen, manipulate the order of scenes, include convincing dialogue, etc. This is what the Hong Sisters been doing in AOS, most were just unaware of it. The Hong Sisters did remind everyone through various characters’ dialogue that to see past illusions, you need to read in between the lines.
Most people saw that scene with Soi followed by the scene with the same physical marks on the Mu Deok body as “proof” that Mu Deok is indeed Jin Bu Yeon (well this is Jin Bu Yeon’s body, but most kept getting the soul part wrong lol). Anyways, these same people saw these scenes as another piece of evidence that Mu Deok’s soul is Jin Bu Yeon’s soul and that her soul still resides in the body. Again, these viewers couldn’t see past the illusion the Hong Sisters created. It’s all very surface level thinking.
Tumblr media
At the end of Ep 14, the whole being blind, but able to tell when it would snow or rain is just another illusion meant to trick viewers into thinking Mu Deok is Jin Bu Yeon. In actuality, Cho Yeong/Mu Deok’s soul may have been able to do those things because she was swapped with the Ice Stone. There are probably other explanations, but ultimately it has nothing to do with Mu Deok being Jin Bu Yeon. These are just illusions. You should be able to differentiate what is the truth and what is a lie by now. Ignore the illusions and focus on the truth.
What the Hong Sisters have been doing is creating the illusion that Mu Deok is Jin Bu Yeon so that when they drop that bomb that Naksu is Jin Bu Yeon it’s going to shatter your illusion aka blow your mind. Honestly, I’ve grown tired of all these mind games that the Hong Sisters have been playing lol.
More of Jin Mu’s Lies During Jin Bu Yeon’s Brainwashing Is Revealed
I have talked about how the Hong Sisters like to make light of Naksu’s real identity through Jang Uk’s dialogue and this happened again in Ep 13! Naksu was wondering how the constellation ceiling opened. Jang Uk asks Naksu, “Who told you that? Your father?”. Naksu replies, “He said the only way to open the ceiling above the constellation basin is by the energy of a constellation mage”.
Tumblr media
Now the Prince recognized the ceiling could only be opened by those who have mastered Chisu which is the truth.
Tumblr media
You see, Jin Mu told Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon this lie because he never wanted her to find out her real identity (Jin Bu Yeon). Jin Mu knew Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon would eventually master Chisu and could go to Cheonbugwan to see her constellation. To prevent her from doing that, he told her the little lie about needing the energy of the constellation mage to open the ceiling.
Later in Ep 13, here comes another little piece of info that Jin Mu left out during brainwashing time with Jin Bu Yeon. Maidservant Kim mentioned the names of the constellation mage and his daughter. Notice Naksu’s reaction upon hearing this. She was confused as hell. She was like “Cho Yeong?” ...who's that lol. She tried to soothe herself by telling herself, “That’s my name” like yea that's my name lol. If Naksu was indeed Cho Yeong/Mu Deok, she wouldn’t have that kind of reaction. She’s wouldn’t have any reaction period, but she did which is telling that Naksu is indeed Jin Bu Yeon.
Tumblr media
Over and over again, Jin Mu has left out pieces of information (i.e Naksu’s “father” was a soul shifter) as well as lied about many things (i.e needing the energy of constellation mage to open the ceiling) in order to keep Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon in the dark about her real identity so that he could continue to use her to carry out all of his evil plans. He brainwashed Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon pretty severely.
Destroying The Ice Stone
I have told you all that in order to destroy the ice stone, you must have energy that is greater than the Ice Stone. For those who are unaware, the energy of the Ice Stone is the same Hwansu, the Sun, or star. Now, on the day Jin Bu Yeon tried to destroy the Ice Stone, she was unable to because she didn’t have enough energy to (yay looks like I was correct when I said in previous posts Jin Bu Yeon was trying to destroy the Ice Stone). Meaning she only had the energy of the Ice Stone which was not enough. The only way to truly destroy it if you have energy that is greater than the Ice Stone. This fits in line with my theory that the combination of Jin Bu Yeon and Jang Uk’s energies should be more than enough to destroy the Ice Stone. It could also be that Master Lee will add his energy to help those two to destroy the Ice Stone. You need like a lot, and I mean a lot of energy to be able to destroy the Ice Stone. Time for teamwork lol! Uh oh…I feel like Master Lee is going to die.
Tumblr media
Connection between Jin Bu Yeon and Naksu
Something worth mentioning is the meaning of Naksu’s name and how it is connected to Jin Bu Yeon. Naksu’s name means “falling water”. What type of precipitation symbolizes “falling water”? Rain. On the day Jin Bu Yeon was last seen with Jin Mu, she was trying to destroy the Ice Stone. Specifically, Jin Bu Yeon was injecting a lot of energy into the Ice Stone to make it rain (please review “The Water Cycle”; post is found at the end of this section). Anyways, the reason why Jin Mu named Jin Bu Yeon, “Naksu”, was because he was naming her after the very thing she was trying to do the day he was with her which was to make falling water/rain happen.
Tumblr media
Master Lee
Before I start this section, I just want to pat myself on the back for correctly predicting Master Lee was a soul shifter!! Woohoo!! Celebration! Can’t wait to see if my theory that Master Lee is Seo Gyeong will also come true! Anyways, let’s talk about Master Lee!
Review Of Hwansu, Ice Stone, Fluffy, and Soul Shifting
As you all can probably tell by now, I have no patience for stupidity and laziness. If something has been explicitly stated in the show or I have extensively explained it in my blog, you all should get it by now. The concepts in AOS are not difficult to grasp. It is not rocket science, ok? In my Phd program, there are many students whom I would categorize as smart. To make up for my lack of intelligence, I work hard. I put in 50x the amount of work just to get to where they are. Therefore, I have no sympathy nor patience for stupid people who are lazy. At that point, they’re just plain stupid.
I’ve seen across multiple platforms how people thought Master Lee was bluffing when he said he was a soul shifter (Group #1). Then I also saw people saying how Master Lee was lying about being a soul shifter because Fluffy didn’t bark at him (Group #2). If you are in either group, start rewatching all the episodes and use your brain to think. Put in some work.
This will be the last time I go over simple concepts from AOS. I’ve done my fair share of work.
Let’s review some things:
A. Soul shifting is the process in which you shift your soul into another person’s body and vice versa. It is the equivalent of the fountain of youth.
Tumblr media
B. Souls are immortal, bodies are mortal.
C. What does it mean to run wild? It means there’s a gap between the soul and body where energy can leak out.
Tumblr media
D. What does Fluffy do? He detects the energy that leaks out from the gap between the soul and body.
Tumblr media
E. What is Hwansu? It is the ability to convert water to fire and fire to water. Water and fire are metaphors for souls and bodies respectively. Hwansu allows one to soul shift without running wild.
Tumblr media
F. Who has mastered Hwansu? Master Lee.
Tumblr media
G. How old is Master Lee? Over a century old. Review Ep 6 and Ep 14.
H. How can one soul shift without running wild? By mastering Hwansu or using the Ice Stone.
Take all of this information and put it all together.
Let’s first look at Group #1. Master Lee wasn’t freaking bluffing when he said he was a soul shifter. How do you think he has remained so young looking? Go back to points A, B, E, F, and G. Why do you think Master Lee offers to teach Jang Uk Hwansu? Just because? No. It’s because he’s already mastered Hwansu. You can’t teach someone something if you have not mastered it. Again, what is Hwansu? Go back to point E.
Why do you think it was stated that Master Lee only wears a hemp robe? It’s because that’s the only way he can be identified since he changes bodies/faces all the time. Imagine if you were a soul shifter, you can change your body/face as many times as you want, and no one could tell it was you unless you wore something consistently. Master Lee could essentially be invisible if he wanted to be. For example, he could easily change to a different body/face and wear a blue robe and no one would be able to tell it was him.
Now let’s look at Group #2. Why doesn’t Fluffy bark at Master Lee? Go to points C, D, E, F, and H. If you’re really that simple minded, let me spell it out for you. Fluffy doesn’t bark at Master Lee because Master Lee has mastered Hwansu. Master Lee doesn’t run wild because there’s no gap between Master Lee’s soul and the body he is in. What does that mean? No freaking energy leaking out for Fluffy to even detect. Therefore, he doesn’t bark at Master Lee.
Jesus Christ.
So, if you know Shaman Choi had used the Ice Stone to soul shift, do you think Fluffy is going to be able to detect her? No. Fluffy will only be able to detect people who have shifted souls using a Soul Ejector. Then what was the point of Master Lee bringing Fluffy? To psyche Shaman Choi out. Master Lee knows very well that the person who has the Ice Stone will not be able to be detected by Fluffy, but he still wants to psyche her out. Why? Read further down in the next section.
Tumblr media
Master Lee's Game of Chess and Tug of War
From push and pull to the ebb and flow of water, everything in AOS is about opposing forces (duality). Now with Master Lee vs Shaman Choi/Jin Mu, it’s all one big game of tug of war or chess. In a game of chess, there are two important pieces: the King and Queen. Master Lee has already made up his mind who his King and Queen pieces will be: Jang Uk and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon.
He needs his King and Queen to be at the top of their game so that he can use them to defeat Shaman Choi/Jin Mu. You see, Master Lee has mostly prepared his King (Jang Uk), but his Queen is still a work in progress. She still hasn’t been able to access her powers mostly because she is suffering from a mental block.
Tumblr media
Master Lee is aware of Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon’s mental block and knows the only person who can help her bypass her mental block is Jang Uk. This leads me to my next point, why do you think Master Lee had told Jang Uk that story about Seo Yul’s first love? It was because Master Lee was trying to “push” Jang Uk to “pull” Naksu closer to him. Master Lee in an indirect manner was trying get Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon to not repress her feelings anymore. I did mentioned that Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon's mental block is a result of suppressed emotions and memories. Side note, I thought it was funny that Jang Uk later uses the same tactic on Park Jin by telling him how Master Lee has been saying at the Jang residence as a way to push Park Jin to confess his feelings to Maidservant Kim lol.
Tumblr media
Going back to previous post (“Deep Examination”), I'd mentioned Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon would never be able to fully come out from the shadows because Jin Mu made the whole world hate her. He did so by using her to carry out his evil plan as well as forcing her to become a soul shifter. It’s not easy to change the world’s negative perception of Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon, but Master Lee has been working behind the scenes to do so. It’s like a multistep process!
Think about Master Lee’s conversation with Park Jin in Ep 12. What was Master Lee trying to do? He was trying to change Park Jin’s perception of Naksu. Why? Park Jin has great power (btw I’m not talking about physical power, I’m talk about power in the sense of influence) as the leader of Songrim. Master Lee knows Naksu’s fake identity as "Mu Deok" is about to come out. Therefore Master Lee wanted Park Jin to be understanding so that he doesn’t immediately kill her once he discovers “Mu Deok” is Naksu. Overall, Master Lee was trying to change Park Jin’s negative view of Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon because he wants Park Jin to protect his Queen chess piece until he's ready to use her against Shaman Choi.
Tumblr media
So who else’s opinions holds power in the world of AOS beside Park Jin of Songrim? The royals. By revealing himself as a soul shifter, Master Lee is seeking to accomplish three things: 1) Change the negative view people have about soul shifters 2) Change the negative view people have that those with great powers are always bad 3) Pull the person who has the Ice Stone out from the shadows. By accomplishing the first two things, it would allow both Jang Uk and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon to finally come out of the shadows and be judged fairly for who they really are as people and not solely judged by how they may appear to others from the outside (i.e abominations, chaos, monsters, etc).
Tumblr media
Furthermore, the notion that those with great powers should consider everything before exacting justice could also be applied to Jang Uk and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon. Meaning once Jang Uk and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon fully come into their great powers, they will consider everything before punishing someone. It's like that quote from Batman, "With great power, comes great responsibility".
Tumblr media
A brief digression. Look at Master Lee, he has great powers, but he doesn't instantly kill Naksu when he saw her. Why? Because he wanted to consider everything before he decides to kill her or not. He wants to know everything about her before making a judgement. It's like how in our the judiciary system, a judge must consider all the facts and evidence before making a judgement. That's how people with great powers should act like. When you're in a position of great power, jumping to a conclusion just based on what see on the surface is not justice, it's prejudice. This all ties back to one of the main themes of AOS: to not pass judgement only based on what someone looks like on the outside (body; outside), but to pass judgement based on who they are as a person (soul; inside).
Tumblr media
Anyways, going back to the the third point, Shaman Choi/Jin Mu had been “pushing” things by “shamelessly” hiding the Ice Stone within the palace walls. In response, Master Lee was trying to “pull” Shaman Choi from the shadows by revealing himself as a soul shifter who can see other soul shifters . Remember it’s all about "push" and "pull" when it comes to fighting/war. How can you pull someone out from the shadows? You rattle them.
Tumblr media
Master Lee was not planning on exposing Shaman Choi as a soul shifter, he knows she used the Ice Stone to shift her soul. Rather, he was planning to shake her up by exposing other soul shifters surrounding her (those who used soul ejectors to shift souls). Ever heard of psychological warfare? You know what happens when people start to panic and feel like they’re being backed into a corner? They start to make mistakes; they start to make stupid moves. They essentially expose themselves.
What else could cause the evil duo to panic? The arrival of Jang Gang. From Master Lee’s reveal to Jang Gang’s arrival, these things will ultimately cause the evil duo to lose focus and let their guard down….this is when Master Lee will put into play his King and Queen chess pieces ...aka Jang Uk and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon will attack!
Master Lee sure does have his work cut out for him lol. He has to change the minds of two powerful people ( Park Jin and The Royals) to ensure his King (Jang Uk) and Queen (Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon) chess pieces won't be harmed until Master Lee is ready for them to be used against Shaman Choi/Jin Mu.
Chaos and peace are two sides of the same coin, when the coin is flipped, the world holds its breath to see which side the coin will land on. I’m not a betting person, but I’m pretty sure our power couple will bring peace to Daeho.
Tumblr media
How Soul, Energy, and Body Go Together
I think there may be confusion about soul energy and the body work together. To it simply, power/energy is not a feature of the body. Rather it is a feature of the soul. Take for example, the conversation between the King and Jang Gang. The King mentioned how Jang Uk was able to place a soul in a deal body and how it lived for over six months. Let’s think about this for a second. Does a dead body have any energy? No, it doesn’t. What gives a body energy is the soul, it is what gives “life” to a body.
Now with regards to the Ice Stone, people keep confusing what it really does. It is like a soul stone, not a body stone. It’s not going to bring back bodies, okay? So please don’t ask me for the hundredth time if GJY is going to come back for Part 2. This show is about souls, not about bodies.
I know this can be a difficult notion to grasp for many, but keep in mind this is Alchemy of Souls, not Alchemy of Bodies. The body is useless, it is something that can easily be reduced to ashes. The body doesn’t matter, the soul does. This has been repeatedly so many times now, yet people are still turning to the body to make theories. If you did, you truly did not understand the foundation of the show to begin with.
For these reasons, I truly think what happen with Jin Bu Yeon while she was in her Mama Jin’s womb is that Jang Gang used the ice stone to bring back her soul and this act inadvertently infused her soul with the energy of the Ice Stone. This act caused for physical changes to her body (i.e physical blindness). Changes to the inside is reflected on the outside. Inside (soul) -> Outside (body), not Outside (body) -> Inside (soul). What this means is changes to the soul is reflected outwardly in the body.
Since I know you all will ask again how the body of Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon can see now, I will explain it one the last time. Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon’s soul had been transformed when Jin Mu switched her soul into Mu Deok/Cho Yeon's body. During the time Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon’s soul was in Mu Deok/Cho Yeon’s Body, her gained more energy through mastering many spells. Therefore, when she returned to her original body, her soul was more powerful than it had previously been. She had accumulated more energy which caused her soul to heal her own eyes. Again, changes to the soul are reflected outwardly in the body.
This connects back to what I had previously said that in order for Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon to fully access her energy/powers, she must unlock her mind. It’s all in her mind. It’s all a mental thing. Or as I like to see it, Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon just needs to go see a psychologist! Baby girl is having an epic identity crisis! Anyways, I hope this makes it clear to everyone. This will be the last time I mention this too!
Why Did Fake Daddy Jin Take A Strand of Blood from Cho Yeon?
To inject it or whatever into Soi so she can open the doors to Jinyowon. Recall that blood and energy go together and energy is connected to one’s soul. When you take someone’s blood, you essentially have a small piece of their energy/soul. Their energy (qi) is like DNA lol. So the doors of Jinyowon is locked by like a DNA molecular lock is the way I like to look at it lol. Again, this has nothing to do with the body.

Jang Gang’s 20 yrs Soul-Searching Journey
In my previous posts, I kept mentioning that Jang Gang had gone on a soul-searching journey for the past 20 years, but it finally dawn on me that he was on a LITERAL soul searching journey haha!!! Continue reading below for my theory on what Jang Gang was doing for the past 20 years! This is how I think the events happened for Jang Gang......
Cho Chung was killed. Jin Mu takes Cho Yeong and keeps her in Danhyaggot. Jang Gang seals the Ice Stone and leaves to find Cho Yeong. Many years passed and Jang Gang still has not found Cho Yeong.
Tumblr media
Jin Mu takes Jin Bu Yeon to find the Ice Stone that Jang Gang had sealed. Around the same time, Jang Gang hears that Jin Bu Yeon has also gone missing and suspects Jin Mu took her to find the Ice Stone. Jang Gang goes to where he last sealed the Ice Stone to try and find Jin Bu Yeon. Jang Gang finds Jin Bu Yeon, but he realizes that the soul within that body is not Jin Bu Yeon’s, it’s Cho Yeong’s soul. He recognizes that Jin Mu had swapped their souls. What started out as a journey to find 1 soul/1 body now became a journey to find a second soul and body. Damn what a freaking mess lol. Jang Gang made it his mission to find Jin Bu Yeon’s soul (now in Cho Yeong’s body) so that he can return both Cho Yeong’s and Jin Bu Yeon’s souls to their original bodies.
Tumblr media
Jang Gang leaves Cho Yeong in an old lady’s care while he goes out to search for Jin Bu Yeon’s soul. Before he leaves Cho Yeong (now in Jin Bu Yeon’s body), he tells her she must change her name to “Mu Deok” to avoid being found by Jin Mu. Jang Gang resumes his search for Jin Bu Yeon’s soul (in Cho Yeong’s body). He ends up searching for many years because it’s like I said, finding a soul is very difficult because their looks/face/body have changed. Jang Gang hears about a powerful assassin named “Naksu” who uses Tansu. Jang Gang knows Jin Bu Yeon’s soul was powerful since he infused her soul with the Ice Stone before she was born. He puts two and two together and realizes “Naksu” must be Jin Bu Yeon’s soul (in Cho Yeong’s body).
Jang Gang had great difficulty catching up to Naksu because she was a shadow assassin. Meanwhile, the old lady who was taking care of Cho Yeong soul (in Jin Bu Yeon’s body) had died. Jang Gang finally manages to find Naksu, but he was too late. He learned she had tried to shift souls before she died. He knows that when the Alchemy of Souls spell is casted for the 2nd time, souls are returned to their original bodies.
Tumblr media
Thus, Jang Gang knows Cho Yeong had return to her original body and died. He goes back to Sari village to retrieve Jin Bu Yeon’s soul (now back in her original body). However, he finds out the old lady died and Jin Bu Yeon was sold off to Chwiseonru Courtesan House. He makes his way from Sari village to Songrim. Cue his arrival to Songrim. Talk about fate and coincidences lol. Jang Gang was out searching for many years only to learn that the one of the surviving souls (Jin Bu Yeon) was at his home and hanging around his son.
Tumblr media
Anyways, I do wonder if Jang Gang is trying to find Jin Bu Yeon to kill her or return her to her family. Jang Gang might want to kill Jin Bu Yeon because he’s afraid she would run wild since she had been away from her body for too long. We have seen cases where people who return to their bodies do run wild (i.e Gil Ju). I would like to think better of Jang Gang and say he will return her to family. No…but really though…is this how Naksu’s reveal happens? Jang Gang comes back and reveals Naksu is Jin Bu Yeon. This then exposes Soi as an imposter who was placed in Jinyowon by Jin Mu. Once that happens, Jin Mu is going to start scrambling! This would definitely push Shaman Choi and Jin Mu to come out into the open. Boom! The battle for the Ice Stone begins!! Ohhhh I’m liking this theory of mine!
Who Killed Broker Kim?
The most obvious person would be Jin Mu since he did ask Soi if there was anyone else who would recognize her. Then again, the show is not about the obvious lol. Therefore, I think it Jang Gang was the one that killed Broker Kim. Why? Because Jang Gang has been tracking the last surviving soul (Jin Bu Yeon) and he probably wanted to keep Jin Bu Yeon’s identity safe. The piles of dead bodies we see next week is probably a trail of Jang Gang’s movement towards Jin Bu Yeon. Jin Mu did say Jang Gang does not kill so inconspicuously.

Other Thoughts
I felt like this is a scene is foreshadowing Park Jin and Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon will have another face-off. I LITERALLY CANNOT WAIT FOR IT!!! I know Naksu/Jin Bu Yeon isn't going to kill Park Jin because that would hurt Jang Uk since he considers Park Jin his father.

Ok I'm done! There's always more I want to write about, but I'm exhausted!

hi lumi happy holidays! ☺️ I would like to propose an idea after watching the 2nd season of TTT crime scene between g!p boss myoui, chief park and g!p detective yoo
detective yoo comes back from vacation and catches up on the latest events, overhearing about chief park’s past relationship with boss myoui and becomes jealous due to their secret relationship behind closed doors and probs bc she has a big ass crush on park. the detective glares at the mafia boss every time they pay a visit to see their young prodigal and stares daggers into their head when she sees her leader and the boss chitchatting.
she can’t help it. when she’s get together with the chief for a quickie, she becomes possessive and marks her so she can show that damn bastard who she belonged to, as a declaration of power. now boss myoui becomes competitive and plays along with this little game.
tis a proposal, the ball is in your court! :)
- 🐯
anonie, i'm totally writing this bc you haven't been here in a long time and absolutely NOT because i'm eager to write jeonghyo...
this rq reminds me of this fanart! hope it's good enough, i literally don't remember anything of TTT crime scene 1 & 2
-
when jeongyeon arrived at work after enjoying her vacation, the first thing she heard wasn't a welcome back or a good morning from her workmates. instead, she was greeted by momo and dahyun's voices, both of them gossiping about their chief's love life. jeongyeon was mortified for a minute, she thought no one suspected about her and jihyo's affair. that's until she notices they're not talking about her, but about myoui mina, a mafia boss that was constantly visiting their station in order to see her culprit.
"i saw them talking inside the office the other day and chief park seemed really... flustered. it was weird to see." dahyun tells momo, without knowing jeongyeon was near enough to hear it, keeping her voice low. "and myoui kissed her hand before leaving, too. i believe the rumors we heard were true, they were most likely in a relationship."
jeongyeon doesn't want to hear any more of that. she makes noise as she approaches them, on purpose, for them to notice she's there. jeongyeon places two cups of coffee, gladly still warm as she bought them before heading to work. she doesn't greet them as nicely as she would, her head filled with anger because jihyo hadn't told her about having a relationship with myoui mina.
"what time does myoui usually arrive?" jeongyeon asks, placing both of her hands on top of the table, scaring momo and dahyun who were supposed to be working and not chit chatting.
"a-around nine." momo gulps. jeongyeon looks at the watch on her wrist. it's 8:30, and jeongyeon smiles at the mischievous thought that goes into her head. "we missed you jeong... yeon."
momo doesn't have the chance to finish her sentence as jeongyeon walks away quickly, leaving both her and dahyun speechless. she doesn't knock on jihyo's door, instead makes her way into her office abruptly, placing the coffee she'd brought to jihyo over the desk.
"why didn't you tell me you used to date myoui mina?" jeongyeon asks, after two weeks without seeing jihyo. the chief's face light up as soon as she sees jeongyeon, but what her girlfriend (not exactly, but something like that) says makes her freeze in spot.
jihyo gets up from her seat, not quite meeting jeongyeon's height as the detective was almost a head taller than her. "how did you find out?"
"so it's true?" jeongyeon huffs out, feeling stupid for not noticing it. the glances myoui would give towards jihyo should've been enough for her to realize there was something going on between them. "did you even miss me? because from what i heard, you were too busy getting acquainted with myoui here in this very office while i wasn't around."
"who even told you that... of course i missed you, jeong!" jihyo is quick to defend herself, reaching jeongyeon's hands and interlocking their fingers. "i like you a lot. mina and i have history but we're done. i'm with you, not her."
jeongyeon holds jihyo's hands and make the chief walk around the desk in order to face her. "prove it."
jihyo frowns, confused. "how?"
jeongyeon inches closer, bringing her face down so that their noses were touching. "take off your clothes and i'll show you."
jihyo wants to say no. they were still at work, after all, and jihyo would never have sex with jeongyeon at work. they always did it outside, mostly in one of their cars or their houses. as the chief, jihyo brings a 'no' to her lips that she can't quite voice, because soon jeongyeon does it for her and removes the first piece of clothing off her body. jihyo sighs when she feels a wet kiss on her neck and a hand sneakily gripping her breast over the shirt.
"c-close the curtains." jihyo says, finally reminding that if anybody looked towards her office, they'd see them. unless the curtains were closed.
jeongyeon does just so, and jihyo shamefully uses the time to take off her shirt. she would be lying if she said she didn't miss being with jeongyeon. after weeks without the detective, having to rely on a couple of toys that would never compare to jeongyeon, jihyo was aching for jeongyeon to take her. her brain told her that that was wrong, that she shouldn't be fulfilling her needs inside the office, let alone when she had just about minutes before mina knocked on the door to have a small talk — something that had become customary by now. even then, jihyo still wanted jeongyeon.
while jihyo had many worries, all jeongyeon could think about was jihyo talking to myoui mina later on, with her load stuffed in her, hair messy unlike the neat way jihyo liked to have it, and hickeys all over her neck. the main reason why jeongyeon was so eager to have jihyo was to make a mess of her chief and leave her uneasy right before her now sworn rival, myoui mina, arrived to pay a visit to jihyo. jeongyeon might not know everything that went on while she was gone, but she certainly wouldn't stay behind.
the detective watched as jihyo took off her clothes and folded them neatly, worried they might get crumpled. jeongyeon doesn't worry about her own clothes that much, all she does is open the zipper of her pants, not even minding to open the belt, and slip her cock out, already half hard from seeing jihyo naked. it's been a long time since she got the chance to have some quality time with her favorite workmate, so jeongyeon was longing for this.
the detective passes her hands behind jihyo's thighs, lifting the smaller woman so that she could sit on the desk. it was spacious enough to fit her, but jeongyeon still pushed some things to the side, giving them enough space.
"so wet for me already, chief park." jeongyeon says, fingers brushing against jihyo's folds, full of slick.
jihyo blushes. detective yoo has always been quite the tease, but she felt more sensitive than the usual, much due to the lack of touch and attention she'd received from jeongyeon for the last few days. jeongyeon's kisses, her fingers squeezing her nipples and the heavy shaft resting on top of her core weren't helping at all, only making her more desperate to be filled, forgetting her position as the chief of the station as jeongyeon breaks her, little by little.
"don't call me that when we're- ah!" jihyo moans, almost too loud, when jeongyeon slips her tip inside, only to pull away next. "don't tease me!"
"i won't." jeongyeon licks her lips. "turn around for me, ass up and hands on the table."
"we've got to be quick." jihyo says before she does what she was told.
jeongyeon's hand fall hard against her ass, making jihyo whimper quietly. "i know."
jeongyeon finally sinks into her and jihyo almost cries tears of relief. jeongyeon might be trying to push mina's buttons with that and show her how much jihyo was already hers, but jihyo, innocently enough, just wanted jeongyeon inside her — all over her, whispering sweet nothings in her ear while she filled her deeper than her fingers and any of her toys could reach. the detective leaves her traces over jihyo's skin, she makes sure jihyo's neck is bruised enough for people to notice that those marks couldn't be an allergy or anything of that kind, but a stain that could only be left there by a person.
jihyo is so taken by her pleasure that jeongyeon resorts to silencing her with her hand over her mouth, muffling the pretty sounds coming out from her mouth, her hips moving so fast that the chief was being squished between the desk and jeongyeon's weight. the detective pounds hard and fast into her, making jihyo cry out, blessedly so, and when jeongyeon's free hand squeezes her chest and pinches her nipple, her walls tightening hard around jeongyeon's girth. jihyo meekly holds onto the desk, jeongyeon unfazed by the tears that escape from the corner of the chief's eyes. those were a consequence of how good jihyo felt with jeongyeon was lodged up in her.
"that's what i like to see." jeongyeon mutters under her breath. "aren't you such a good little slut for my cock, chief park?"
"jeongyeon," jihyo whines, her breathing ragged. she hopes nobody was near her office, or else they'd certainly hear the sounds of jeongyeon's thrusts and grunts, and her own moans, despite them being contained by jeongyeon's hands. "i'm coming!"
and she does, coming so hard that it brings jeongyeon to her own peak, feeling jihyo clench and grip her cock harshly, dripping to her thighs with her own slick. jeongyeon feels weak while she comes, but she still humps jihyo's ass until she's sure none of her load would leak out. at least not before myoui mina passed by, because she wanted jihyo to remind of her and how well her cock filled her earlier when she looked at mina later. not only that, but jeongyeon also wanted mina to notice the freshly made hickeys decorating the silky skin of jihyo's neck, smiling at the thought of myoui knowing that she made chief park her personal toy.
as both of them get dressed, jeongyeon looks at her watch. if momo was right, mina was going to arrive in no time. she helps jihyo get dressed and leaves a button of her shirt opened on purpose, her hair not nearly as neat as jihyo would've liked, and the best part was that there was no way to hide the hickeys on the chief's neck without makeup.
jeongyeon kisses jihyo's forehead and leaves her office then, with a convinced smirk on her face that myoui mina catches when she's making her way into chief park's office. much to her surprise, jihyo looks disheveled, flushed and her neck is red. it doesn't take her much thinking to realize what was going on. mina doesn't close the door. she stands there and looks at chief park, then at detective yoo, and something sparks inside her. she was about to have a lot of fun.
game on, it's what she thinks.

Things that I feel should have wrapped up in season 1:
- Dang Gu and Cho Yeon should have gotten married and probably left the show since they’re of no use in this season anyway.
- Maidservant Kim could have also married Park Jin and they can remain in the background as they do now.
- That nurse should have left as well. She’s useless and is only getting more pathetic each week. She started off as a strong woman unashamed of her feelings for Uk and now she just seems bitter. It’s embarrassing.
- Jin Mu and his cult should have done something crazy and gone ‘rogue’ that way we would at least have something to look forward to this season. Not him hiding behind the crown Prince acting like a scared puppy.
- Lady Jin should have wrapped up her obsession and longing for Bu Yeon. It’s boring atp & she’s equally pathetic. She just seems like a bitter old lady and while I don’t blame her, she’s seriously annoying. Not sure how she’s the mother of two sweet girls.
- The palace and everyone in it are useless so they could have also shut that down. Sorry to the crown Prince, he’s great humour but this season is evident that he’s not even needed. The discourse on the ‘King Star’ is…. I can’t even believe they’re still mentioning it. Jang Uk barely wanted to live, what makes them think he wants the throne???
This would then leave the show with the characters that actually matter and more relevant things could have happened. I’m not even saying that I don’t appreciate Naksu as she is now (because I’m seeing people talk about this) I’m just saying, there’s no development given the time frame of this season. She’s not progressing as an individual nor is she fully connecting with Uk. Kissing him isn’t all there is.
They clearly like eachother but who is she? Where is the time for her to process who she is when she finally gets her memories? What of Uk? How will he take it? How will she reconcile with her mother? Her sister? Everyone else? If she decides to get revenge, who is she taking it out on? Where and when is all this supposed to happen???!!
What was the point of removing Jung So Min as the actress for this character and using the Naksu’s real face and body when we don’t even get to know who she really is. She’s just an amnesia patient??? Like can nobody see how fucked this is? Mu-Deok didn’t need to die for this sort of plot??
The show finishes next week. Am I tripping or?

Some rants about Alchemy of Souls S1 ending:
- I want to see Mudeok being cool but not that?????making her the one to kill jang uk is just too much damn it. (I understand why it needs to happen and all the foreshadowing that has been happening but it still hurts so much that they just end it like that)
- All the character development that the prince has gone through for the past ~15 episodes are gone through the drain just like that? He formed friendship with Jang Uk but he was still easily swayed just like that?! Jin Mu literally fooled him and tortured his mom for years but he let him go instead of getting all the guards to catch Jin Mu the first time he saw him in that secret chamber? Like...... he is smart enough to not trust Jin Mu ffs
- What happened to bu yeon?!?! if she is that powerful why can’t she stop naksu from running wild? And doesn’t she want to go back to her own family?? Why isn’t she doing anything hhh
- I still cant believe jin mu gained the kingdom’s trust again, like how stupid can they be?
- I still hate jang gang for starting all of this and just die without clearing things up
- Poor choyeon. The girl has gone through so much, even the only figure who shows her love turns out to be a traitor and then killed off just like that. I was hoping for a scene where her mother apologizes to her or something but instead we get this?
- I still haven’t seen Park Jin being a powerful character at all? Like... I can feel that they’re trying to portray him as this cool powerful and wise dude but he... isn’t really doing anything important until the last episode....
- Why did they make a fuss with the whole “four seasons of daeho” if they were not going to show us any scene/arc where four of them work together and being powerful??? Like literally I feel like this is my first time seeing choyeon and danggu fight? More four seasons showing off their skills please!
I think what really pisses me off about the ending is that I feel like they do not appreciate the people who are currently watching the first season at all. I have watched a lot of TV series that use seasons to tell their stories, and just like AoS, they too would also always leave something unanswered in the previous seasons so that people would anticipate the next season. However, there is usually some kind of conclusion to the previous season, even if they leave something unanswered and hanging, they would usually tie up the season somewhat neatly. But this? this feels like the whole 20 episodes was just a bait for the next season. Ugh it just leaves bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, I feel like I have wasted so much time watching 20 episodes just to be left feeling angry about everything. So many stupid decisions made by our supposedly powerful characters, it’s hard to defend them at this point.  I really hope they will give us a good S2 with less plot holes.
And I still hope we have Jung So Min in S2, not as mudeok but as buyeon. I still hope a closure for buyeon.

Unspoken words of hope (AO3)
In which we get the perspective of the remaining three seasons and the Crown Prince over the drama of our favorite couple, while they deal with their own wound hearts. Continuation of previous one shots from the "The brazier on a summer day". Follows the final events and epilogue of their happy ending .
Preview:
“You still fighting?” He leaned in curious, she nodded with solemn pout. My friend is truly pitiful one. “Why didn’t you say so before?”
“Before?”
“I thought you two were going to meet here today, that’s why you visit early….” They stared each as it dawn to them that Jang Uk did not know Bu-yeon was there. “Oh… It’s just a coincidence…?”
“I… I can’t be here.” She stood up in panic, the Crown Prince also felt a bit her panic for no reason other than he was a good friend.
“Wait, he is not here yet, Sharman.” He blinked around. “Wait… Why are you acting like it’s wrong to be here?” The future king stared his friend genuinely offended.
“Your Royal Highness, it’s not about us, it’s about Uk. You have no idea, I left without saying goodbye he will drag me home.” The priestess looked around concern. “Help me!”
“With what?”
“Say that… That you put me in charge of the investigation.”
“What investigation?”
“Are you not investigating my attempt murder?” Bu-yeon looked outrage. “I’m pregnant!”
“You are?”
“Of cour…” Bu-yeon stopped talking when she realized it wasn’t the prince who inquired.
The friends slowly turn to find Jang Uk himself with the open door, behind him stood Park Dang-gu, the Songrim leader, and Young Miss Cho-yeon, the heiress of Jinyowon, both staring them with wide eyes. Eunuch Oh was pale as a sheet staring the Crown Prince, clearly looking for orders; as for Prince Go, he peered at his darling turtle, as if she would help.
She did. The pretty thing wasn’t where she was supposed to be.
“Where’s my turtle?” He asked in a dark tone, Bu-yeon turned to him confused.
“You lost he?” She frowned looking around. “She’s not here…”
“The turtle was just here.” He replied going around the table. “Eunuch Oh prepare dinner for my guests. Lady Jang find the turtle and then you may go.”
See? I’m helping you, don’t forget. The noble prince arched his eyebrow to his friend, she nodded with a small relief smile.
“Wait a minute…” Jang Uk meddle in the conversation frowning at their exchange.
“Oh as you recalled, Jang Uk, your dear wife and I are close friends.” Prince Go took pleasure in his jealous expression.
“I thank you, Your Royal Highness.” Bu-yeon bowed her head quickly. “I’ll also started the investigation tomorrow. Now, if you excuse me…”
“What are you going to investigate?” Jang Uk stepped in front of his wife, who look at everything but him with a blasé face. Prince Go made a note to invite her to a game of cards any day, she seemed the type who would be good opponent.
“It’s none of your business, husband.”
“It is if you are putting my child in danger.” The whole room held the breath by what they were listening. This is a conversation to a private setting. Wiil I fight with my wife like this?
Sounds fun actually. The prince shake his head with the trail of thoughts.
“That’s rich coming from you, wasn’t your deceased bride who tried to kill me?” They are gasped by her sharp words. “Besides, I’m not pregnant.”
“You aren’t?”
“You aren’t?” Prince Go echoed Jang Uk narrowing his eyes to the sly woman.
“Of course not! That’s is no chance that I am.” She denied strongly. Too strongly.
“Not all?” Dang-gu peering at Jang Uk with judgment in his eyes, the Crown Prince tried to hold his laugh, because for a matter fact he knew that it was a lie from the small woman.
They always said goodnight and good morning to each other first, after all. Jang Uk’ss face made the whole thing much more entertaining.
“The turtle is the one who is pregnant!”  She announced, Prince Go opened his mouth too stunned to speak. “I’ll find her right way, Your Royal Highness.”
Bu-yeon went away after whisperer something to Cho-yeon, that nodded with a serious face to her old sister. Jang Uk gaze the air for a few heartbeats, before turning to follow his wife.
To his surprise both Crown Prince Go and Cho-yeon moved to stopped him. Dang-gu, of course, join them, making Jang Uk sitting down to about the whole situation with the Queen and Jin Mun. It wasn't an easy conversation, even more that Uk was already fuming in rage because of Bu-yeon. In that sense the guidance of both Par Dang-gu and Jin Cho-yeon helped their overcome their differences.
“How will justify this meeting thought?” The young Spring inquired frowning. “Master Jin Mu will know.”
“The original plan was that I have come to accept the palace's apology for my wife’s attempted murder.” Jang Uk replied. “But that was ruin since she was already here before.”
“How about our marriage?” Dang-gu turned to the heiress, which made both the Crown Prince and the Ice Stone user eyed them. “We came to ask you blessing for our marriage, since they wanted to marry you and Young Miss Jin.”
“That was ages ago.” The future king stared them incredulous.
“Your Royal Highness the Queen still summons me for tea, Crown Prince.”
“Is that so?” That intrigued him. “Very well, I shall give you both my full support, I’m guessing your plan is that Young Miss Cho-yeon leave her title of heiress.”
“And since that would made Uk the husband of the future leader, he came to give his support.” Dang-gu nodded satisfy. “A little truth, and a little lie. They will believe.”
“How about we make a little more of it?” Jang Uk suggested. “The Crown Prince can be offended and refuse to help, even more, he can demand the hand of my sister-in-law.”
“What?” Dang-gu eyed his friend offended. “Why would…?”
“It might be for the better.” The noblewoman said with a thoughtful pout, very alike her older sister. “Would be good excuse for me and unnie to enter the palace, and Jin Mu would think you are all fighting.”
By the end of the meeting, they all dinner together, carefully crafting their little story. It was fun, Prince Go was surprise that politics could be this nice with allies. The only people he usually talked about was the King and Jin Mu, and they always felt like their were ready to scold him.
Well, and the shaman, he owed Bu-yeon for making his days a little less lonely. However, she did not know who he was back then.
For the first time in years he felt light and content. The conversation changed to more mundane topics, the prince almost felt like they were all friends. Then the dinner ended with Dang-gu and Cho-yeon leaving together, while pretending they weren’t going to a secret date, while the Ice Stone user linger around.
Clearly waiting for someone.
“Is that anything else, Jang Uk?” He asked arching his brown while savory sweet tea.
“Yes, I’m waiting for my wife.” The mage chewed the cream biscuit.
“You think she will come back with you here?”
“Your turtle is precious after all…”
“Jang Uk, allow me to give you an advice…”
“I do not need counsel on my marriage from a eunuch.” He replied through gritted teeth.
“It’s not my fault that your wife didn’t understand when I clue her that I was royalty.” The future leader of Daeho scoffed at the man. “Now, listen, because she did and that action improve your marriage.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Well… She did go to wish you good night every night, didn’t she?” Jang Uk had murder in his eyes now. “Calm down, before you freeze the whole palace, alright? If you really want to talk to her, you need to apologize first, the woman is quite cross with you.”
“She is?”
“Well, it looks like that… What did you do anyway?” The mage fell in silence and the prince arched his eyebrow remembering her words from before “Wasn’t your bride who tried to kill me?”. Looks like Jin Mu was right. “She knows about Naksu.”
“She knows about Mu-deok.” He agreed.
The name felt like a punch in the stomach, filthy Mu-deok… The very reason why Crown Prince Go end up becoming a farce. One of his closest friend, the one who would tell him the truth without really telling the truth, the first subject that the prince actually felt like he should earn her respect and loyalty. She deceived him all along.
“Will you blame that individual and get rid of them?” She asked in their last conversation with impossible understanding eyes.
The Crown Prince sent her away without a proper goodbye, it was only later that he realized that even though he demanded her to go away, the servant girl end up taking all the blame because of him. Jin Mu said himself, and while he knew it was an attempt to manipulate him, the terrible truth was that the prince should have arrest the man at first sight.
But he didn’t, and for years now, he carried the pain of his sins. The guilty for Jang Uk, for Mu-deok, for the bloodshed, for letting Jin Mun live through it all.
Bu-yeon, Jang Uk’s new bride, was just like that too. A good friend, who somehow understood the royal too well, and was put in dangerous because of him and political game again.
Well, I’m not making the same mistake twice.
“Filthy Mu-deok… Very few calls her that. It’s not even her real name, isn’t it?”
“Yes… Her name was…” Jang Uk paused for a moment, because the pain of regret would always be there. “Cho Yeong.”
“Well, Bu-yeon is not the type of woman to resent one because of the past. I know because she told me so about her old lover.”
“She what?”
“Don’t pretend you weren’t the same, you also had a peacock, making her suffer to.” Jang Uk crossed his arms speechless. “My advice here, Jang Uk is quite simple: break into her room and talk about your feelings.”
“What? That’s it?”
“The simplest thing can be the hardest quest, Jang Uk. Look at us… I want to be the king and you don't, still, people will try to pin us against each other. How did we resolve the issue?”
Jang Uk made a face that he didn’t like anything he was hearing, but for a matter of fact, the Crown-Prince Go was right – as usual. Jin Mu had tried to make they enemies over and over again, the Gwangju even told him about the secret of Jang Uk’s birth, something the prince chose to keep to himself for now.
“Is not only that, we both know that.” He said in a sharp tone, the prince avoided his eyes. “My loathe for you goes deeper than some stupid political game.”
“As I said before, I understand, I truly do. Still, you have my trust to do the right thing not only to Daeho, but for your wife as well.”
The mage nodded, then he drank the rest of his tea before going out to get his wife’s forgiveness. The future king smile to himself very satisfy by the events of the day, he truly outdone himself this time. Too bad I’m so good in helping others and not myself.
“That’s terrible advice, you know.” Bu-yeon said behind him, the nobleman turned on his chair startled. The woman was standing in the shadows by the windows caressing the turtle in her arms. Somehow it was a chilling vision. “I do not wish to talk to him, let alone about my… Feelings.”
“How… How did you get in here?” He blinked surprise as the priestess gently put the turtle in her pool.
“You two are after Jin Mun… My uncle.” He didn’t miss the way her voice changed to a deadly tone. “Is he the one who tried to kill me?”
“Yes.”
“Did he also kill Naksu? Jang Uk’s bride?”
“He… He caused it, she followed his orders blindly.”
“And yet you let him go? You must really consider her less than filthy.” He frowned not liking how honest she was, where did all her gentle manners went?
“It’s not as simples as you think.”
“Then, it shouldn’t be too complicated, after all the simplest thing are the hardest.” She sat down in front of him, an icy glare studied him now.
Her behavior made him pause again, it was the same feeling he got when she first arrived.
“There something else, isn’t? It’s been bothering me since you got here, something is different in you, shaman.”
She smirked at him, almost wicked, a strange cleverness appeared in the woman’s eyes.
“Oh… I recover some of my memories, actually. The ones that were locked away for a very long time…” She stared her hands.
The royal blinked remembering their previously conversations, she said once that her past was like bottomless lake, no matter how deep the shaman dived she couldn't catch more than the glimpses of her old life. He even helped her exploring a few places, trying to figure it out if she could recover more memories.
“Congratulations, my friend, I know how much you've been suffering from your remembering dilemma.” He said in a nonchalant manner, it didn't seem right to congratulate the shaman judging her reaction.
“… With them I also recover this wretched feeling of violence and wickedness.”
Prince Go stopped his motions for a moment, the unexpected words were unsettling to say the least. The woman in front of him seemed to light up now, there was a sinister fury and hatred burning in her eyes, the very air around Bu-yeon tremble with her presence alone. This was the most powerful priestess of Jinyowon.
Then, he realized.
Her words. They were familiar.
It was his words.
“Tell me, prince Go, do you still vehemently despise seeing me and Uk together?”
Filthy Mu-deok.
“It’s not possible.”
“Before calling your guards, you should give me the courtesy to listen my story.” She poured herself a cup of tea. “After all, the same fate that happen to me could occur to your mother.”
“Are threaten me?”
“Crown Prince! I’d never dare!” She looked almost offended. “To tell the truth, you don’t really know what happen with Naksu.”
“You are Naksu.”
“I used to be her, just like I used to be Mu-deok.” The soul shifter calmly took a sip. “Jin Mu raise me to be an assassin, as you know, in a way we were trained by the same master. We are fellow pupils.”
“How sentimental of you.” He spat reaching his hand under the table.
“Danju, it was what I called him.” She looked to the window. “Don’t even think about using that sword, I may not be able fight but I have divine powers.”
“What?” He dropped immediately the thought of summoning his sword.
“That day, my last day, I heard two things: Jin Mu’s voice and the bells. I didn’t blindly follow his orders, I was going to marry Uk and be happy, for what should I take revenge? My poor father? That was Jin Mu’s doing anyway.”
“What are you saying?”
“I was controlled with a curse, is something that Jin Mu’s can do with soul shifters, Seo Yul told me about it and he can explain better to you. That’s for later, for now, I want you to think about it: who is a soul shifter supporting our abominable master?”
It was too much information, all at once, but he was trained for this. The Crown Prince poured himself a tea, accepting her game for now. She was at least a very entertainer talker.
“My mother.” He took a sip. “Does that mean you can still lose control?”
“No, I have divine powers now. Master Lee can vouch for me if you want.”
“How can this be? You took another body…”
“I didn’t, this is the body of Bu-yeon, the heiress of Jinyowon. Once upon a time, they called her Mu-deok…”
The assassin soul shifter then told the whole story to the prince. Naksu had taken over the body, in order to save it she had merged with it that’s why her true face took form, however soon the real Bu-yeon would come back.
The more the soul shifter spoke, the more stunned he became. It was an unprecedented tragedy, the woman in front of him survived things one couldn't begin to fathom. By the end of her tale, the Crown Prince Go made up his mind.
I’ll end this travesty for once and all.

Alchemy of souls season 2
Okay, I've only reached the middle part of episode 2 but something about this second season seems off. Many things make sense but many also seem like a stretch.
For example, Lady Jin is acting out. Yes, she was highly manipulated by Jin Mu the first season and kept on acting agaist Songrim but she stayed true to some boundaries. So, locking her long lost daughter up in a room with one window only, seems a bit too harsh even for her. I thought she loved her daughter so much, she couldn't let go. Yes, I know, Bu-yeon looks like Naksu but that doesn't mean she's not her daughter, that doesn't mean she can't interact with her. Like she doesn't treat her like a human being which confuses me a bit tbh.
I love, love, love Jang Uk's dark era. Everybody longed for the ice stone, a whole war has risen and in the end, it's in Jang Uk's "posession" but we see how it would have been way better to let it stay at Jinyowon. It's a great power, it brings back the dead, it's something very unnatural, made by nature. It's too much to bear. Jang Uk is very strong, he was born under the King's Star, but he desperatly wishes to get rid of it. He gave up his powers, he was more than ready to live without anything and then he came back to life with too much going on. It must be hard and he's suffering.
But we don't get to see much of him. He is not the protagonist any more. It was Naksu and Jang Uk and now it's just Naksu. Jang Uk is a relict of the past, kind of like a shadow to remind us the first season existed but he's not talking, he's not seen, he's not there. I don't like that at all.
What really stocked me is Bu-yeon living in Naksu's body because it makes so, so much sense since both their souls and energies were extremely strong. It was Bu-yeon's body keeping Naksu in check and now it's the other way around. It's a balance and I absolutely love it. Still, the chemistry is not the same, the pacing of their love story is a bit weird. It's rushed and slow at the same time. Why does Jang Uk take her with him, why does he agree to marry her, why do they bring their faces so close together after 5mins? The overall start of their encounter is not very good since it doesn't seem to be thought-through and like they just looked for a way to make the two characters meet and fall for each other as fast as possible.
I don't like how Dang-gu and So-yeon did not marry. Like why? A bit unnecessary, I would say. At the same time, I like to see these two heartbroken, I don't know. They have always been cute and they are still cute when they're sadly looking at each other.
Don't get me started on Park Jin and Maidservant Kim...I despise what they're trying to do. Park Jin and farming. I know, it's supposed to be the comedic part of this show but it absolutely doesn't work for me.

notes | Here’s my first entry for inktober. Hoping you guys will like it as much as I had fun making it. This was actually based from something that is very dear to my heart because it happened to me. (not with an idol of course)
Hugs and kisses, always.
ps, this has a part two. Let me know if you want me to post it as well.
———
Tumblr media
y/n’s POV
"I'm coming home!" I said excitedly over the phone informing Sangyeon that I was going back to Seoul for a couple of hours.
My family decided to move to Busan because of my father's job. Sangyeon and I rarely saw each other since then.
I was expecting to hear excitement from the other end of the line but all he said was,
"I'll pick you up."
'maybe he's just tired.
"eung. See you later." I said hanging up
I went to my dresser and changed into something more presentable. Feeling satisfied, I grabbed my coat and my bag.
"eomma, I'll be going." I said to my mom who was currently busy making food,
" say Hi to Yeonnie for me."
I nodded and waved good bye.
While waiting for the bus to arrive, I tried calling Sangyeon but he wasn't picking up.
'is he busy?'
my thoughts were interrupted when the bus finally came. I went in and sat by the window. In front of me, was an old couple who sweetly held their hands together
I smiled at the thought of me and Sangyeon growing old together. Since I began dating him three years ago, I have always imagined myself marrying and starting a family with him.
He was not only my ideal guy but also my greatest source of strength.
Him being an idol was hard at first because I knew that I was up against everyone else but luckily, we managed to make it work.
Despite his busy schedules, he always had time for me.
Our relationship was private, just the way we liked it.
Other than our families, the only people who knew about it was his members and his manager.
While the journey felt like forever, it comforted me when I saw Sangyeon’s figure across the bus stop. He waved his 'hand and waited for me to cross the street.
He led me to a car and opened the door for me,
"annyeong-oh, where's manager oppa?" I asked sitting on the pssenger's seat waiting for him to finish bucking his seat belt.
"I borrowed the car for a while." he said speeding off.
"I missed you." I said to him holding his hand
"me too. I got you coffee by the way." he said pointing at the cup.
"thanks yeon."
We stopped at a parking lot of a mall. Our usual dates consisted of drive thrus and dark places. It was very unlikely but it was the only way I could protect Sangyeon from scandals and issues that might affect his career.
"How are you?" I asked him as he removed his cap.
He held my hand and placed it on his face. Finally getting a glimpse of his eyes, I saw how different it looked.
"is there something wrong yeon?" I asked worriedly
finally letting his tears fall down, he gripped on my hand and cried.
"l-i'm sorry." he said
"why? what's wrong babe?" I asked unsure of what was going on
"you don't deserve this."
I cupped his face between my cheeks so that I could see him clearly
"m-make me understand please?" I said hesitantly as I finally hinted to where this would lead to.
"let's break up."
———
Sangyeon’s POV
"are you sure about this hyung?"Jacob asked making the other members look at me, obviously waiting for my response.
"I'm afraid I'm just keeping her from growing."
"noona will get devastated." Haknyeon added earning a nod from the rest of the room
"just let Sangyeon hyung do what he think is right. Let's not meddle with his business." Eric suddenly said, making us look at him surprised
"for once, serious Eric is right." Younghoon commented while looking at me straight in the eye.
It was the right thing to do.
———
y/n’s POV
"stop joking yeonnie." I said hesitantly while hugging him in my arms.
It was a repetitive series of him apologizing and crying which I did not understand,
'is this a prank?' I thought to myself since our anniversary was next month already
not embracing reality, I took a deep breath and asked him in my usual self.
"did I do something wrong? I mean, was there something I should work on."
"that's the point y/n. You didn't do anything wrong. You never did. All of the sacrifices, efforts and love was right."
"then why? make it make sense yeon." I said taking a deep breath.
If I was my usual self, I would be crying by now. But, as if I wasn't Shin y/n, I just kept a straight face, still trying to process everything that was going on
"I still want to do more things in life. I want you to explore life y/n. We only live once and I fear that am just holding you back."
He looked straight into my eye with his tear stained cheeks.
" W-we tried to make it work, right?"
"We did. You did well y/n." he said pulling me into a hug,
I didn't know where I had the courage to say those words because I wouldn't give up that easy.
However, even if tried I knew that he wouldn't change his mind.
I wanted the hug to last forever but I knew that it'll only hurt the both of us if I too, became vulnerable in front of him. I had to be strong, for us.
"I love you forever, yeon." I said to him finally removing myself from his hug. I wiped his tears away and smiled at him. Reassuring him that it was okay.
"I love you too, forever and always."
I took a deep breath and looked at the empty space in front of me.
"I guess, I should head home now. It's getting dark already. I wouldn't want to miss the bus."
"let me take you home."
"no, yeon. It's a long drive. Besides, I just might cry in front of you and beg you to stay. We wouldn't want that do we?" I said looking at him while fake laughing
He knew that I was faking it but he laughed too.
"let me take you to the bus stop at least?" he asked making me nod in response.
The car ride was the saddest ride in my life. The mood was grim and no one spoke. It was very different of how we were back then.
Nearing the bus stop. I stared at Sangyeon and admired his features.
I’ll miss this.
He was so close to me but he felt very distant. It was as if I couldn't reach him.
When we finally arrived, Sangyeon made a complete stop and suddenly cupped my face into his hands. He leaned in and kissed my cheeks.
"do amazing things, y/n."
'he leaned in again and kissed my lips
" let the world know how awesome you are."
for the last time, he leaned in a kissed my forehead.
"you'll always be in my heart, y/n."
All I could do was smile at him.
"so I guess, this is good bye?"
He nodded slowly as he painfully watched me remove my seatbelt and out of his arms,
After collecting my things, I went outside and asked him to roll the windows down.
"I'll be cheering for you! Make me proud!" I said to him waving goodbye.
He didn't move but he just looked at me. Knowing I would burst out in a minute, I snapped him out of his trance.
"yah, go now. It's getting dark." I said to him ushering him to go.
He smiled weakly at me and waved good bye. After rolling the windows up, he drove off, soon leaving me alone in the bus stop.
As if on cue, the rain started pouring making me laugh in sarcasm.
Finally letting the tears stream out of my eyes, looked at my phone to see Sangyeon and I's wallpaper.
But what made me cry even more wasn't the picture. Instead, the date posted on my screen.
"just my luck."

Just finished the episode and aside from balling my eyes out, this was such an amazing season finale.
As much as we loved the happy scenes in 19 and 20, Jang Uk and Mu-deok/Naksu were never going to be happy as long as Naksu was stuck in Bu-yeon’s body. And as amazing as So Min’s acting was during these 20 episodes, we shouldn’t want Uk to be with Naksu while she’s in Bu-yeon’s body. Despite the wrongness of Bu-yeon being alive even though she should have stayed dead in the womb, it still Bu-yeon’s body and she should be able and she should be able to ultimately live her own life. Naksu returning to her body was something that was always going to happen, especially for there to be a happy ending between Uk and Naksu.
I know that people are upset that Bu-yeon couldn’t stop Jin Mu from making Naksu run wild, but I’m honestly glad that he was able to. Like, Bu-yeon has a lot of power, yes, but she’s not invincible. It would make sense that there would be some things that could overpower her, especially if it came from Shaman Choi, who’s family originally perfected the Alchemy of Souls. It would make sense that family would have things to control people who shifted souls. Also, since the Ice Stone is in Uk now, Bu-yeon may not have been able to access it in the way she did in the past and became weaker, thus allowing Jin Mu to have Naksu run wild.
I’m also not upset that the Crowned Prince was letting Jin Mu’s words affect him. As great as he is, the show has made a point to show that the Crowned Prince has always been separate from the rest of the gang, despite their positive interactions with one another. He knows that the people who he’s come to respect have been lying to him and keeping him in the dark, so he’s allowed to be angry at that. His last scene where Jin Mu was talking to the Royal family about what happened does give me hope that he’ll continue to be on the gang’s side because you did see his facial expressions which indicated that he was having doubts about Jin Mu.
I really can’t wait for the last 10 episodes in December. There are so many questions to be answered. Like, who saved Naksu? It seemed like it was 2 women, so I’m going to guess it was Jinyowon. I do think that we will get some scenes of So Min in season 2, whether she’s secretly filming now or if she filmed some scenes before she moved on to other projects. How does Naksu return to her original body? I am excited to see more of Go Yoon Jung and how she makes Naksu her own while also keeping aspects of So Min’s acting choices. How is Uk changed by coming back from the dead? The teaser definitely makes him seem darker/edgier, so I wonder how that whole process changed him. Since Uk made the choice to not use the Ice Stone to protect everyone and Naksu still went wild, I do wonder if he’ll use the Ice Stone in the second season differently so he can save her. I do hope that he and Naksu remember each other and that they aren’t kept apart from each other for long, especially considering we have only 10 episodes. Since we got the tragic ending this time, I do hope the second season ends with Uk and Naksu being able to be happy with one another. I also can’t wait for Jin Mu to die a painful and slow death because he’s the worst.

AOS Theories that are full of holes
After watching episode 17 of alchemy of souls, I still have questions about the common belief that most viewers of the show have.
Buyeon and Naksu share the same body.
I’m not too sure how this became the prominent theory. I know Mudeok sleep walked once and blind mudeok stopped Jang uk from soul swapping in ep 7. Generally that’s what people like to cite as definite proof of the souls combining. I think the biggest hole in this belief for me is the How? We know the alchemy of soul spell swaps souls, so I’m supposed to believe that instead of swapping the spell decided to do something different and merged two souls into one body. Two souls that weren’t even in the same room. So they soul combine instead (they should rename the show to a spell that combines souls!)but the soul that’s a new addition to the body is the one controlling the body, while the other soul is doing what? Just happily vibing in soul purgatory?
Buyeon had a master revenge plan all along and is controlling Naksu’s soul with her Priestess powers to fulfill her plan
According to Cho Yeon, Bu Yeon was powerful at a young age, able to sense energy and see without seeing. If Bu Yeon had this master plan, that would mean she never lost her memory after falling out of the boat. Or she regained her memories moments before naksu bumped into her and decided to use her priestess powers to control naksu for what ever reason. She could’ve left Sari village if she had her priestess level powers and her memories in tact from the beginning. Instead she goes by Mudeok and stays in Sari village? why?
We just recently learned that powerful Jin priestess can control souls and trap them to be helpless. Very cool power so of course people jumped on it to explain what is happening to Mudeok/Naksu. We have no idea what a priestess controlling a soul even looks like! Even though the show has explained that naksu can’t access her powers in such a weak body (like what we saw with Master lee in the body of the child and we saw jang gang in the sick king’s body) somehow a priestess (Buyeon to be specific) was able to be orchestrate a soul merge(?) with naksu while also trapping her soul. For me to believe this, I would need to know how exactly priestesses trap powers and control souls. Do they need to be in control of their own body?
The plan seems to revolve around revenge on Jin Mu. Mudeok was already sold to Chwiseonru courtesan house before the soul swap happened. The story could've just been told from “Buyeon/Mudeok’s” POV, no need for the actual all powerful mage Naksu. She didn’t need to take in another soul.
Buyeon took Naksu into her body so she could have more power
This makes the least sense because if buyeon can control the sky/make it rain and trap mage’s power and control souls allegedly all at the same time, WHY would she need more power from a mage. The Jin family and mages have different powers (divine vs spells). Why would she control naksu and not Jin Mu himself? He left her to die in a lake after all.
Every time Mudeok’s eyes turn blue that means she’s changed to Buyeon
The show explained that the blue marks that appear over the heart are proof that a soul swap occurred and a soul left the body. Mudeok’s mark is in her eyes for reasons unexplained... I think? When Mudeok/naksu tried to kill herself in the lake, she gained her energy from the lake and unsheathed her sword. Once she got out she fainted and woke up with pains in her eyes. Jang uk told her that the blue marks in her eyes are like bruises and will fade. I know this will just be explained as Buyeon taking over.... but buyeon wouldn’t be able to unsheathe Naksu’s sword.
That’s it for now. A lot of things I’ve seen said about the show seem contradictory for me. Either buyeon needed naksu for her power/energy or buyeon is all powerful, which is it?

Alchemy of Souls Part 2: Theories & Analysis (Ep 27-28)
Hello Readers,
Quite frankly I'm beyond thrilled this show is finally coming to a close. Part 2 was an utter mess and the script was horrendous. I felt like I was watching a hormonal teenage drama or something. The Hong Sisters had 30 episodes to tell the story of the three main characters (Seo Yul, Jin Bu Yeon, and Jang Uk), but they ended up mainly focusing on just one character (Jang Uk). They could've easily given the three mains 10 episodes each, but chose not to.
The Hong Sisters tried to connect the stories of what happen 203 yrs ago to 23 years ago to the present, but ended up failing miserably. When it came to Jang Uk, his clan didn't become important until his dad decided to swap with the King 23 years ago. Otherwise his story wasn't as interesting in comparison to the Jin's or Seo's. The only link Jang Uk has to what happened 203 years ago is that he's a King Star. And that's about it! I can totally see the Hong Sisters trying to make Jang Uk's connection to the past stronger by having him be the reincarnation of Seo Gyeong. However, if they choose to do this I'll know the Hong Sisters were scrambling to find a quick fix. Bear in mind, the notion of reincarnation has never been introduced within this show.
In this week's episodes, the past came back to haunt us. The problem with all of this is that the Hong Sisters didn't give us enough of a backstory as to what happened 203 years ago. In particular, the stories of the Choi's, Jin's, and Seo's....you know the three families involved in the first Great Chaos. It's like the Hong Sisters saw a wild fire was happening and they tried to cover it up with romance. No matter how many smut scenes they threw at me, I just wasn't having it. Romance in this show was secondary to the plot, not the other way around.
I'll be making my T&A posts (Eps 21-28) available to the general pubic after the last episodes of Part 2 ends. For Eps 29-30, I'll probably not make a T&A post available to the pubic. Why? Because AOS fandom is toxic af. Never in my life have I ever seen so many people plagiarize my work up until now. It has truly disgusted me. I know they'll be here lurking around hoping that I'll release my T&A post for Ep 29-30, but sorry I won't be!
Thinking caps on! Time to analyze and theorize.
Disclaimer: There’s probably many grammatical mistakes in this post! Also, I won’t be answering questions regarding Eps 29-30 just because I know there will be people who will use my answers and portray it as their own wherever.
Phoenix Shenanigans
This is one of the most annoying things about the Hong Sisters especially in Part 2, they keep introducing new things without really expanding upon them. How the hell are we suppose to figure out anything if they don't give us more information????! While I love the whole firebird concept, I don't think we'll have time to see it all play out. Meaning, I don't think we'll get to see the phoenix hatch. If by some miracle we do, I think it'll probably take 10 minutes at best. However, I'll still discuss about the firebird just in case! Below are just some things we know about the firebird:
1) Born from a volcano 2) Carries spirit of the dead 3) Able to be healed with a flower 4) When hatched it causes a severe drought 5) Causes Ice Stones to fall from the sky 6) Jin Seol Ran and Seo Gyeong built Jinyowon to contain the bird egg 7) Barrier that surrounds the egg is made with energy weighing 30,000 nyangs 8) Conflict causes the egg to hatch or "awaken"
Some interesting things about the firebird is the energy needed to keep it contained. Hong Sisters really love the number three lol. Cumulatively, Jang Uk has killed a 30 soul shifters. For each kill, he receives 1000 nyangs. Therefore, he has conveniently earned 30,000 nyangs, the same amount needed for the bird egg barrier. Another way to look at it is that the firebird barrier is equivalent to 30 souls! I smell Master Lee's hand in all of this haha. I bet you Master Lee had planted all these soul shifters for Jang Uk to kill so he would have enough to save Seo Yul's life.
Tumblr media
Now Mama Jin said something interesting about the firebird, arguing or conflict will cause the firebird to wake up. I do wonder if the firebird will wake up if there's a large war or clash in Daeho. In the preview, it looks like Songrim will fight Cheonbugwan...could this be the event that inadvertently wakes up big bird? I'd also theorized that maybe Jin Seol Ran had developed some sort of psychic connection to the bird and her descendant (Jin Bu Yeon) is connected to it too. We know an internal conflict is about to arise in Jin Bu Yeon and this could also cause the bird to wake up if it is indeed linked to Jin Bu Yeon.
Tumblr media
The Seo Family
This storyline had so much potential, but it was squandered away in favor of romance in Part 2. Back in Part 1, I'd wanted to know more about the Seo clan just because they were one of the original mage families involved in the Great Chaos. Other than the room where the Seo Lanterns were kept, we barely saw any of Seoho Fortress. I was also very curious to know if Seo Gyeong's lantern had been as kept there or somewhere else in an undisclosed location in Seoho Fortress. Such a piece of information would've been helpful to solve the mystery of what happened to Seo Gyeong following the events 203 years ago.
Members of this family seem to hold great power even if they don't have the King Star. For example, General Seo Il. Everyone in Daeho seems to fear this man yet we didn't even get to see him. Do people in Daeho fear General Seo Il because he has a large army or is it because he is a powerful mage like his ancestor, Seo Gyeong? I don't know. I'd thought with the appearances of Uncle Seo Yoon Oh and Queen Seo Ha Sun in Part 2, we would've at least gotten a chance to know more about this powerful yet mysterious family.
Tumblr media
Seo Gyeong
In this week's episodes, we learned something new about Seo Gyeong. According to Jin Mu, Seo Gyeong chose to move his clan far west to Seoho Fortress for the sake of unity. To the Royals, Seo Gyeong appeared threatening because he had the god like power of Hwansu which could be used to usurp them. Maybe Seo Gyeong actively chose to move his family to Seoho Fortress so they could thrive and grow. If Seo Gyeong hadn't moved his family to Seoho Fortress, the Royals probably at some point would've found some sort of justification to kill them all. And then there would be no more Seo clan. Additionally, maybe Seo Gyeong decided to move far away to Seoho Fortress because he was planning on eventually bringing Jin Seol Ran there to protect her by hiding her (maybe everyone was hunting her).
Tumblr media
What I don't get though is why the creation of Songrim didn't appear threatening to the Royals? After all, Seo Gyeong was leader of Songrim and therefore would've been in close proximity to the Royals. In addition, I didn't get why the Seo clan weren't allowed back into the capital following the death of Seo Gyeong. From my understanding at least, the Royals only feared Seo Gyeong and not so much his family. Therefore, the only reason I could think of is that the Royals know Seo Gyeong is still alive. Overall, there are still so many unanswered questions when it comes to this man and his family.
Water Wick
Does anyone else think the Seo Water Wick looks like a soul ejector? Or maybe it's just me. In terms of functionality, the Water Wick is the opposite of the soul ejector. Instead of ejecting souls, the Water Wick is able to house the energy of souls. I know many will say, the Water Wick does not contain souls. Yes it does! Recall from one of my previous posts, the word "ki" means soul/energy. On Netflix, they translated "ki" to "torrent of energy" which was funny. They could've simply translated it to Seo Yul's soul or Seo Yul's energy...oh well. In regards to the appearance of these Water Wicks, maybe Seo Gyeong decided to copy Choi Cheol's soul ejector design. I also find it interesting that these Water Wicks connected to lanterns…weren’t lanterns a Jin thing? Hmmm Seo x Jin connection?
Tumblr media
Seo Gyeong may have created these Water Wicks as a preventative measure to safeguard future generations of his family from becoming soul shifters. For example, Queen Seo Ha Sun. Her ass got caught for being a soul shifter because of these Water Wicks which were connected to her Seo Lantern of Life. Guess Seo Gyeong did not want his family to dabble in "sorcery".
Tumblr media
Other things I wonder is if you were to place placed someone's soul/energy inside these water wicks and then placed them into a dead body, what would happen? Would the dead body be revived? If so then these Water Wicks are like alternatives for soul ejectors. Maybe one wouldn't experience the nasty side effects of soul shifting if one were to use one of this water wicks in a dead body. Had the Hong Sisters done a better job at pacing, we could've known more about these interesting marbles!

Turtle
Turtles...what more do I need to say about these creatures? Well, in asian culture, turtles are symbolistic of longevity and power. They're considered one of the four celestial animals (phoenix, white tiger, and azure dragon) in Chinese mythology. Additionally, shamans back in the day used to use their shells for divinations.
In the context of AOS, turtles can also refer to people who are at risk of dying (i.e. Seo Yul and Jin Bu Yeon). FYI, when the Crown Prince said, "we saved a turtle together", he meant Seo Yul.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going back to turtles in Chinese mythology, they're associated with the winter season, north cardinal direction, and water element. Jang Uk is basically the black tortoise. Just Google "Black Tortoise" if you're curious to know more. You know what star typically guides people when they're lost? The "North" Star otherwise known as "Polaris". This star is actually part of the "Little Dipper" constellation. What I think will end up happening is that Jang Uk will eventually sacrifice himself to save Jin Bu Yeon and everyone else. In return for his sacrifice/life, the skies will make him into an actual star in the night sky to forever guide people.
In the wrap up cake, there are two turtles seen on the ground while 1 turtle is in the sky which indicates 1 turtle is no longer on physically living on earth. If you look at the placement of the turtles, you can see they're in the direction of south, west, and north. The south turtle is Jin Bu Yeon (south/phoenix/summer season) while the west turtle is Seo Yul (west/white tiger/autumn season).

The Truth Hurts
I've seen so many people hating either Seo Yul or Heo Yun Ok and I'm like y'all they're doing or saying the crap that no one else wants to. When it comes to Jin Bu Yeon, she wants to live in ignorant bliss. One really shouldn't live this way. Fact of the matter is that Jin Bu Yeon has many responsibilities and she can't keep ignoring them forever. For example, she will eventually have to take Mama Jin's place as leader of Jinyowon and protect the world from the relics. She will also have to deal with the firebird situation and ongoing drought among other things. And all these things require her to have full usage of her divine powers. Jin Bu Yeon can't come into her divine powers if she remains an ignorant pathetic love struck puppy who stays by Jang Uk's side all the damn time.
Tumblr media
I seriously don't know why so many viewers are hating on Heo Yun Ok. Maybe she shouldn't have splash that stuff in Jin Bu Yeon's face, but at the same time I'm glad she did. Why? Because otherwise Jin Bu Yeon would've kept ignoring the truth and continue to live in a bubble of ignorant bliss, never striving to become something more of herself. Heo Yun Ok and Seo Yul have different approaches when it comes to telling someone the truth. Heo Yun Ok is more brutally honest while Seo Yul sugarcoats things. For me personally, I would be more like Heo Yun Ok. I prefer to give it straight to people instead of beating around the brush. No one have got time for that! Overall, I think Heo Yun Ok genuinely cares for Jang Uk and truly doesn't want to see him get hurt again. As mean as Heo Yun Ok was to Jin Bu Yeon in this scene, it ultimately forced Jin Bu Yeon to face reality and go to Danhyanggot by herself to find out the truth.

Jin Bu Yeon and Naksu Crap 2.0
I'm pretty much done with this whole mystery. Naksu is Jin Bu Yeon and vice versa. They're the same soul. Essentially, the scene below is just Jin Bu Yeon talking to herself. At the end of the day, "Naksu" is just a period that Jin Bu Yeon had gone through. Up until Jin Bu Yeon was 10 years old, she was herself then she got amnesia as a child and swapped bodies and became "Naksu" as an adult. Following this, she went back to OG body, but she didn't recognize it as being her own because she had been away from it for so long, making it seem foreign to her. Imagine if you lived in AOS and experienced what Jin Bu Yeon had and then went back to your OG body 10 years later. How would you even know this body was yours to begin with? You wouldn't. Bodies change especially from childhood to adulthood. Adding to this, Jin Bu Yeon was blind so how could she even know what she looked like as a child let alone an adult?
Tumblr media
I still can't believe the Hong Sisters had stretched out this crap until the last two episodes of this entire series. If there's one question I want to ask the Hong Sisters it's this: "What was your reasoning for why you couldn't have Naksu remember her real childhood memories (Jin Bu Yeon childhood memories) back in Part 1?".
Gwido
Before I start this section, I just want to say I seriously hate how the Hong Sisters are introducing new things and/or new pieces of information at the very last minute. What it feels like to me is the Hong Sisters completely forgot about things they introduced either in Part 1 or in the beginning of Part 2 and are now trying to hurriedly wrap them up by introducing new stuff. How does that make any sense? If you already know you are pressed for time to wrap things up, do not introduce new concepts. It's that easy! If you decide to do so, you're going to run into some problems such as making simple mistakes. For example, the whole 200 years comment made by the Crown Prince. Specifically, the Crown Prince said, "A Choi mage also died 200 years ago in there". Anyone see the error? I also made this same mistake in an earlier post, but recognized the mistake and fixed it when I tweeted on my Twitter account. Anyways, I'm allowed to make these mistakes just because I'm only a viewer and not the writers themselves. The Hong Sisters seemed to have completely forgotten 3 years had passed. Therefore, it should've been 203 years ago not 200 years ago. Little mistakes like this makes me believe the whole Gwido stuff was something made up at the very last minute. As you read further down, you'll begin to see how the introduction of the Gwido door/prison ultimately leads to more questions than answers. How can we solve current mysteries if we were not fully given information about the past?
I'm just going to briefly summarize what was said about Gwido. Within Cheonbugwan, there is a prison called Gwido. Jin Seol Ran was the one who created the door that led to the prison. The prison held those who performed sorcery. A Choi mage died in this prison 203 years ago. Once you enter this prison, you can never escape even as a ghost. What this means is that even if you die in this prison, your soul cannot travel to the sky or afterlife, you're trapped there and become a "wraith". In the context of AOS, wraiths are souls of those who performed sorcery and are trapped/unable to move on.
Tumblr media
Though they’ll probably not mention it, I do wonder who created the prison itself. We only know Jin Seol Ran created the door, but we don’t know who created the actual prison. Other questions I have is why build this prison in Cheonbugwan of all places? Why didn’t they choose to build this prison in Jinyowon or Songrim? I understand they probably didn't want to build this inside of Seoho Fortress for logistic reasons, but with Jinyowon and Songrim, they seemed closer to everything.
Other things to point out is there were three magical schools, Jinyowon, Songrim, and Cheonbugwan and three great mages/priestesses (Seo Gyeong, Choi Cheol, and Jin Seol Ran). If we know Jin Seol Ran was leader of Jinyowon and Seo Gyeong was leader of Songrim then it must mean Choi Cheol was the leader of Cheonbugwan right? Therefore, maybe it was Choi Cheol who built the prison. Putting everything together, maybe at one point Choi Cheol and Jin Seol Ran were friends given how she did build the door of the prison. So many questions remain though. Were these three people all friends and one of them (Choi Cheol) turned evil?
I also do wonder what the order of when all three schools were built. I am guessing Cheonbugwan was built first. Why? Because there had to be a place to read the stars to know a King Star would be born to end the chaos. After this, Songrim was built followed by Jinyowon. Below is just a brief summary of the purposes of the four places:
Cheonbugwan: Protect Daeho from chaos/destruction by seeing the future and preparing ahead of time Songrim: Place where people could gather together to learn regardless of their background Jinyowon: Protect the world from dangerous relics Seoho Fortress: Protect Daeho from enemies to the west and to provide unity by not being threatening to the royals
Ultimately, all these places were suppose to protect Daeho from any possible treats (both current and future) and maintain peace. What ended up happening though is one of these people decided to turn against the others for power.
Ice Stone, Seo Water Wick, Tracker, or Something Else?
When I'd initially saw the orb thing in the skeleton, I thought it was an Ice Stone. However, when comparing the orb to the Ice Stone, you'll realize they're not the same thing. The Ice Stone has uneven edges giving it a stone like appearance while the orb has completely smooth edges. The Ice Stone also has a white tint to it while the orb has almost a blue/turquoise tint. Now, the only spheres we have seen in AOS are soul ejectors, Seo water wicks, and stone in the Jinyowon bracelet.
What we haven't seen is what an Ice Stone looks like once it's in someone's chest for a long duration of time. Could it be that once an Ice Stone stays in someone for a long time, it changes colors and becomes smoother? It could also be that if you have an Ice Stone within you and swap bodies, the Ice Stone will follow you to your next body and this is what causes Ice Stone to physically change its appearance. I feel like the color associated with the Seo family is blue and the color associated with the Choi family is green. When you combine those colors you get a turquoise color like the Ice Stone we see in the skeleton. In all honesty, the Ice Stone looks like one big uncut diamond which hasn't been processed while the blue orb seen below looks like a processed diamond. The blue orb may just be a variation of an Ice Stone.
Tumblr media
Another idea I have is that this is a water wick containing Seo Gyeong's soul/energy. Maybe when Jin Bu Yeon touches it, she'll be able to see what happened 203 years ago. Anyways, who knows what this orb really this! For all we know, this orb could be a completely new concept the Hong Sisters decided to introduce at the very last minute to plug up some plot holes. For the remainder of this post, I am just going to assume this is an Ice Stone!
Identity of Skeleton
This section will be messy y'all just because the Hong Sisters didn't really provide us any background story of what happened 203 years ago. Anyways, let's get some things straight first. Up until this point of the series, the only person we knew who died is Jin Seol Ran. We didn't know what happened to Seo Gyeong or Choi Cheol. In Ep 28, we were told a Choi mage had died in Gwido. Since we live in the world of AOS where soul switching is possible, we should always ask ourselves whose soul is in any particular body.
Some say the skeleton is probably Choi Cheol, while others say it is Seo Gyeong, Jang Uk, Cho Yeong, or Jin Bu Yeon's skeleton. In regards to the last 3 possibilities, how would any of these bodies get transported inside Gwido in the first place? For this reason, I don't think this is Jang Uk, Cho Yeong, or Jin Bu Yeon's body. This leaves us with two body identities left....Choi Cheol or Seo Gyeong. Going back to what the Crown Prince said about how a Choi mage died in there, I think it's safe to assume the body at least is that of Choi Cheol. So whose soul was in this body? Choi Cheol or Seo Gyeong? I really don't know just because the Hong Sisters didn't give us the full backstory. Also the Hong Sisters didn't really elaborate whether the whole Ice Stone being inside someone is something exclusive to King Stars or can anyone have the Ice Stone within themselves as long as they're willing to sacrifice everything. In addition, they never told us what would happen if you decided to switch bodies while you initially had the Ice Stone within you. I'm just going to assume that because the Ice Stone is a soul stone and not body stone, once you switch bodies, the Ice Stone will follow you to your next body of choice.
In order to connect what characters said to what we saw, we have to consider the possibility there was some soul switching between Seo Gyeong (SG) and Choi Cheol (CC). Below are the two possibilities which could fit the two statements (Choi body died and Ice Stone inside of body).
A) SG Soul + CC Body and CC Soul + SG Body Escaped B) CC Soul + CC Body
Let's talk about choice "A". If this is true then the skeleton we are seeing here is Seo Gyeong's soul in Choi Cheol's body. Some might ask why would Seo Gyeong choose to do such a thing? Because he wanted to die. His lover was dead and the Ice Stone within himself became too much to bear. When Jin Seol Ran died, Seo Gyeong's option to die also went down with her. Meaning Seo Gyeong could not die because Jin Seol Ran was the only person who could remove the Ice Stone from him. However, maybe Seo Gyeong did figure out a way to die without Jin Seol Ran and this is where Choi Cheol comes into play.
Maybe these men were able to come together to save their future descendants. Given the Choi's were associated with divination, Choi Cheol could've be able to see the distant future and informed Seo Gyeong of this. These men then devised a plan to swap bodies with Seo Gyeong making the ultimate sacrifice by staying in Choi Cheol's body and dying inside of Gwido. Some will ask well if Seo Gyeong's Ice Stone followed him to Choi Cheol's body, why did Seo Gyeong still die? It could be because the Ice Stone needed to become activated (you can read further down to see how Ice Stones can become activated once in someone's body). The swap probably reset the Ice Stone that was attached to Seo Gyeong's soul so it became dormant. What was the whole point to all of this? To leave an extra Ice Stone for Jin Bu Yeon to find. Following this, Choi Cheol in Seo Gyeong's body could've escaped through some sort of backdoor only Seo Gyeong knew about. Maybe Jin Seol Ran had told Seo Gyeong about an escape route and then Seo Gyeong told Choi Cheol. Therefore, this would mean Choi Cheol is Master Lee Cheol and Seo Gyeong died a long time ago.
Tumblr media
Moving onto option "B". If this is Choi Cheol's soul in his own body, how did he ended up with the Ice Stone within him? Again, I am not sure if the whole Ice Stone in your body is something that is exclusive to King Stars or anyone can have the Ice Stone within them as long as they're willing to give up everything. Remember that Jang Uk only had the Ice Stone within him because he had been willing to sacrifice all of his energy to break the Ice Stone barrier to save everyone. Subsequently, the skies rewarded him for his bravery by placing the Ice Stone within him. If we are going with this is Choi Cheol's soul in his own body then maybe the story was that in the end Choi Cheol saw the errors of his way and tried to destroy the Ice Stone and for this honorable act, the skies placed an Ice Stone within him. Recall how in Ep 7, it did look like Choi Cheol was trying to destroy the Ice Stone since it was becoming vapor.
So if Choi Cheol had the Ice Stone within him, why did he still end up in the prison and dead? Probably because he still had to be punished for performing sorcery in the first place. As for the second part of the question, maybe Choi Cheol died because his Ice Stone did not become activated. Recall there are two ways to use the Ice Stone's powers once it's inside of you. The first being that you can train again to be able to use the Ice Stone's power. The second is to be killed and then burned. In this case, fire was the catalyst that activated the Ice Stone within Jang Uk. Going back to Choi Cheol, he may have been killed by the wraiths inside Gwido and without anyone to burn his body, the Ice Stone never became activated. With this option, there was no soul switching and Master Lee Cheol is Seo Gyeong.
Tumblr media
Do y'all see how complicated it is to try and figure this crap out with the limited amount of information we are given?! Even after analyzing everything, I'm still not completely 100% confident the identity of the skeleton or who Master Lee Cheol really is (Seo Gyeong or Choi Cheol). The only thing I'm certain about is that between these two men, only one lived.
I also think it was Master Lee who told Jang Uk and the Crown Prince about the secret back door of Gwido which allowed them to enter to rescue Jin Bu Yeon. Another thing that's throwing me off about Master Lee is his clairvoyant ability. He obviously can see the future which is why he's always 30 steps ahead of everyone else. Just from this trait alone, I would say Master Lee is Cheol Choi. However, this doesn't really explain why Seo Yul also has this ability. Either Seo Yul has this ability because his ancestor Seo Gyeong did too or Seo Yul has this ability because he is also a Choi. By this I mean after Choi Cheol swapped into Seo Gyeong's body, the descendants of "Seo Gyeong" inherited abilities of both Seo Gyeong and Choi Cheol.
Master Lee
Here's some other random things I want to talk about when it comes to Master Lee. When he told Seo Yul to "feign ignorance", I found it absolutely hilarious just because this is what Master Lee has been doing this entire time. This man has been parading around pretending he doesn't know anything when he literally KNOWS EVERYTHING. Also in this scene, Master Lee uses more reverse psychology on people. He told Seo Yul not to tell, but Seo Yul ended up blabbing anyways. Master Lee wanted Seo Yul to do this haha. Everything is going accordingly to Master Lee's plan. As I said previously, Master Lee wanted his two chess pieces to realize their destines and he can't accomplish his goal if people are constantly trying to kill them. Therefore, this is why Master Lee has been telling certain people different stories (i.e Mama Jin, Park Jin, Seo Yul, and Jin Bu Yeon).
Tumblr media
At the beginning of Part 2, I thought it was Jin Mu who had made the soul shifter run towards Jinyowon so Jang Uk could find Jin Bu Yeon, but now I'm pretty sure it was Master Lee all along. Master Lee was pushing these two together not for romantic purposes, but more for work related purposes. Jang Uk was instrumental to Jin Bu Yeon realizing her destiny. And before y'all say Master Lee is a Jang Uk/Jin Bu Yeon shipper, I don't really think he is. I think he's molding these two to separately become protectors of peace in Daeho. Keyword...separately. He wants these two to be at the top of their game and sure, they can help each other to grow as work partners, but not as romantic partners. These two have already proven to Master Lee they cannot balance love with work if they're romantically together. To help them both realize this, Master Lee chose to not intervene and allowed Jin Bu Yeon to stab Jang Uk in Part 1. Haha...."it is better to die than do nothing".....they did nothing so they died. Harsh Master Lee...so freaking harsh. These two are imbued with great powers to help save the world, not to sit around lazily doing nothing.
Tumblr media
Summary of Final Predictions/Thoughts/Other Random Things
War will break out between Songrim and Cheonbugwan. General Seo Il will finally show up to help with the war.
Bird egg will start to crack because of the chaos
Jin Bu Yeon will need the Ice Stone from Jang Uk's chest to bring back the rain or prevent the bird egg from hatching
Naksu=Jin Bu Yeon and Jin Bu Yeon= Naksu; Istg the Hong Sisters better not have Jin Bu Yeon become a weak human being that never does anything with her life. I'll be so disappointed if the Hong Sisters does this to her character. Anyways I’ve already explained it so many times now why Naksu and Jin Bu Yeon are the same soul. There was no two souls in one body. It was just one very confused soul in that body. You can refer to my previous posts where I’d explained how Jin Bu Yeon and Cho Yeong had swapped as kids and then swapped back as adults.
The Naksu/GYJ face disappears and the JBY/JSM face appears. Once JBY fully returns, she will have mastered Hwansu (the method of returning). JBY will testify against Jin Mu and he will be put into Gwido.
Jang Uk will die and become the North Star in the sky that guides people forever. Another theory is that Jang Uk and Seo Yul will swap. Meaning Seo Yul would die while Jang Uk's soul resides in Seo Yul's body. ISTG HONG SISTERS YOU BETTER NOT DO THIS!!!! Or they could make things even crazier and say Seo Gyeong's soul had split into two souls (Jang Uk and Seo Yul) and are brought together in Seo Yul's body.....um no...HONG SISTERS DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ROUTE EITHER!!!
Master Lee Cheol is Choi Cheol (Tbh I'm still on the fence about this..Master Lee Cheol could also be Seo Gyeong); I’m like 65% confident Master Lee Cheol is Choi Cheol. It’ll also be crazy if Seo Gyeong wasn’t the real King Star, but Choi Cheol was (parallels to how CP isn’t the real King Star and JU was).
Seo Yul x JBY endgame (YuBu couple); They’ll have twins and name the boy, Seo Uk and the girl, Jin Sol (My Korean friend came up with this! It goes with Seol and Seoyul pattern and “soul” sound). Maybe JBY will finally teach Seo Yul how to make pine pollen tea cakes (ref to Ep 18).
Other endgames: CP x Heo Yun Ok, Jin Cho Yeon x Park Danggu, and Kim Yeon x Park Jin
Houses and leaders: Jinyowon/Jin Bu Yeon, Songrim/Park Danggu, Seoho/Another Seo and Cheonbugwan/Seo Yul; If by some off chance Jinyowon gets destroyed (I really hope it doesn’t) then Jin Bu Yeon should be leader of Cheonbugwan.
One last super crazy and absolutely far fetch theory I have is this: Master Cheol Choi has been trying to resurrect SG and JSR. SG’s soul split into two (JU and Seo Yul) and JSR’s soul did the same (CY and JBY). Ultimately JU’s and Seo Yul’s souls merge and become “SG” and CY and JBY’s soul merge to become “JSR”. Then we get SG soul in Seo Yul body (MH body) and JSR soul in JBY body (JSM body). Everything would then come full circle…connecting events from 203 yrs ago, 23 yrs ago, and present time. This would be freaking crazy bc the Hong Sisters had never introduced the notion of reincarnation nor soul splitting in AOS. However, this theory would fit in line with the unity and unpredictable theme present in Part 2 while wrapping up all the loose ends. Probably won’t happen, but it would be a cool idea for someone to use to write a fan fiction haha. I’ll seriously laugh if the Hong Sisters decide to take this route.
The water wick kiss scene between Seo Yul and Jin Bu Yeon is probably a reference to gumiho’s fox kiss. Hong Sisters’ first big hit was “My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho”. In MGIAG, the FL gives her fox bead to the ML to save his life which is similar to what JBY did. Jin Bu Yeon’s character is almost like a mix between Phoenix and Gumiho. Also in MGIAG, the FL has blue eyes similar to JBY. Hong Sisters also borrowed some things from TOTNT.
Ok I'm pretty much done and dead haha! There are probably things I forgot to discuss....oh well!

I'm overthinking again but fuck it I'm freaking out again because I noticed something about the previews and trailers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's that in all of these different scenes, Jang Uk is wearing the exact same outfit.
In the preview for ep 5 we see him wearing that light grey hanbok with flowy black outer robes when Bu-yeon does their one-of-a-kind ring and it looks like Jang Uk is realizing something. He recognizes what she's doing! She keeps doing things that reming him of Cho Yeong and it can't keep being a coincidence. It can't be that she's just that good of a priestess. Like hello the last "Bu-yeon" Jin Ho-gyeong brought was a fake. Something is up.
We also see him wearing it when he was talking to Master Lee saying the line that Jang Uk took what Jin Ho-gyeong tried so hard to hide. And Jang Uk's face as he's walking away looks kinda foreboding too.
And then! I remembered in one of the trailers that he's also wearing those robes when he stormed Cheonbugwan and raised his sword at the Crown Prince.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm worried because I feel like it's all connected 😭. I think Jang Uk is starting to suspect that Bu-yeon is really Cho Yeong/Naksu. Then Master Lee spills the beans about what happened.
Naturally, I'm fucking worried for my fave lol and I don't want him to die. The only thing that's calming me at least is that there have been other pictures posted with him in other places like in the big Cheonbugwan fight and inside its secret room.
Which means Go Won lives after Jang Uk threatens him. Either Jang Uk drops his sword or he just injures him.
There's also that last picture where it's Jang Uk and Go Won facing each other inside Go Won's room (or at least, I think it's his room. The windows/curtains look similar to other scenes that were held in his room.) which we haven't seen yet in the 4 eps that have aired.
Tumblr media
So we get the part where Jang Uk storms Cheonbugwan. He is going to kill Jin Mu and he will mow down anyone who tries to stop him. And Jang Uk and Go Won face down on that big center platform where Jang Uk once announced that he and Bu-yeon were married.
I think the other clothes are a hint too. Like with the Crown Prince I've noticed that when he's inside the palace, he only wears a specific outer robes that is only worn by a Crown Prince (just like I've seen in other K-dramas). The dark blue one with gold circular symbols on them.
And in this picture with the team inside the Cheonbugwan secret room, he had something else on. It's a more vibrant blue with no gold designs. It could be like those robes that he wears when he goes out of the palace. Like is that a clue? Does it mean Go Won didn't come to the secret room from the palace for that big fight? Am I overthinking again? Yes, unfortunately.
Tumblr media
He's also wearing the same thing in the pic the actress playing Jin Ho-gyeong posted with him and Dang-gu. It's the same for the rest of them. You can even see Sang-ho fighting next to Yul with the Cheonbugwan banners overhead. And I noticed someone with Jin Ho-gyeong's robes at the bottom middle of the screen, behing some Cheonbugwan guards, that's facing them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think these pics are from a big climatic near the end of the series and it's gonna be between Jin Mu/Cheonbugwan and Jin Ho-gyeong vs Jang Uk, Yul, and Songrim. Idk which side the Crown Prince is gonna be in but I'm desperately hoping he'll see the light and be on Jang Uk's side.
