The hotel was for once quiet. Like, extremely quiet. Too quiet.

"as much as i hate seeing your face, is (Y/N) with you? They have their piano lesson today" Lucifer said towards Alastor who in return smiled to hide is now nervous self.

"I tought they were with you?" The demon said turning his head to the side then sending all his shadows to look for you.

Lucifer gave him his own nervous look and went to ask the others, his wings carring him in the halls.

"Charlie? CHARLIE? PLEASE TELL ME (Y/N) ITS THERE WITH YOU" Lucifer called from outside her daugther's room only for it to open with a very nervous Charlie.

"Dad, what do you mean? (Y/N) was supposed to be out with Angel Dust for today"

"And they havent returned...?" The king asked in a worried tone.

Before Charlie could respond Alastor appear in his hand was a beaten up lamb from Lucifer.

"My shadows found your spider friend on the side of the street, and they took this back with them" Alastor trow the lamb to Lucifer who looked at it asking where you were.

"They took them, the sinner tried to fight them off but could not..."

"its Angel hurt? And (Y/N)?" Charlie asked now getting desesperated.

"I knew he was weak" Alastor said in a low voice getting a pissed look from Charlie.

"Alastor, does your shadows know where the sinner is?" Alastor nodded in return "and you, can you tell me what they looked like?"

"A big insect and a tv" the lamb said. In reaponse Alastor voice turned into static taking the lamb by its collar.

"And you did something to prevent this?" Radio deals now in his eyes "you are a creation from the king of hell but left them take (Y/N)?"

"Alastor stop!" Charlie pleaded getting the lamb back.

"They did this to get back to me" Alastor said turning to leave "i must put them in their place"

"Wait a dam minute, it may be your fault"

"Dad..."

"But im (Y/N) father and i should have prevented this. So im going to settle these sinner down myself"

"Not if i get to them first" Alastor responded baci giving out a siniter smile.

"Im coming too, we need to check on Angel"

Angel, the lamb and you were outside doing some quick errands. You rarely got to go outside so this was an experience. Being with Angel (who you loved like a big brother) was a plus, specially when he could toss you up and get you with his four arms.

"Are you having fun?" Angel asked after stopping to get some ice cream

"Yes!! This is amazing, you are amazing, sugar its amazing" Angel could only laught at you, he was sure you were going to be running up and down the hotel later.

The others found Angel all bloody but not dead with a note besides him. He was tied up and had cuts all over him.

"Im sorry, i tried to stop them. (Y/N) tried to help me but got elecoshocked" Angel lamented his hands covering his eyes.

"Angel its not your fault, im sure you did the best you could to protect (Y/N)".

Angel smiled at Charlie's words, images of you biting his Boss arms and legs going to his mind. "(Y/N) has fire on them, they were biting Valentino's so much to even draw blood" Angel comments with a fond smile getting a creepy smile from Alastor who is just proud of you.

"If you want your kid back Alastor, meet me in the V's tower" Alastor read out loud getting everybodys attention.

"Thats a trap and wait a fucking minute" Lucifer took the note, he conjured some reading glasses (that he does not need) to read the bullshit he just hear.

"IM GOING TO KILL THESE SINNERS" A very demonic Lucifer said, flamed came from his mouth at the same time Charlie tried to calm him down.

"Dont worry dad, im sure (Y/N) and manage, we need to go to the V's first"

Turns out you did manage.

At first you opened your eyes seeing lots of lights from tvs, different sinners where showing on them. A small claw came out from your hand cutting your robes. As you were going to go outside a door opened and a demon with a ....tv as a head? Enter the room.

"Well, arent you sneaky" the tv said getting you up and inspecting you. The missmatched eye trying to get you under his influence but you just gave him a confused look.

"Did a tv fall over you to end like this?" You asked getting back an angry scowl from the demon.

"Oh im sure your father taught you that one, im right?" Vox asked moving himself to his chair getting acomodate with you on him.

"My dad does not like tvs, says its makes our brain go off"

"Yeah that sounds like him" Vox said thinking about Alastor, getting the most dreamy look on his face.

"You....you like my father?" You asked imagining Lucifer seeing this demon. If it was a demon that resembled a duck then it may have a chance but not this one.

"W-what?" Vox asked his face giving out an error signal "of coruse not, i dispise him, why do you think i kindapped you?

"....to have a chance to see him? But i believe this approach its a bit agressive"

"Of course, thats why this is hell. I got so angry when Barney was not here. It was said it was from the devil but Barney its not here"

Vox looked a bit confused at you then went to look for old record till he found a show, he sent the record to one monitor.

He later almost breaks when you started to run avoiding objects and staff that went in and out.

"VOX WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?"

Veelvet appeared in front of both of you, like a mother stopping the fun two siblings where having.

"Mmm, i dont follow?" Vox said taking you back to his arms.

"WHY ITS LUCIFER OUTSIDE OUR DOOR DEMANDING WE GIVE BACK HIS KID!!"

"Wait...this is not Lucifer's kid this is Alastor's...."

But he could not end talking when the doors busted open, a very pissed Lucifer, a demonic Alastor, an equal demonic Charlie and Angel with guns ready enter the room.

"YOU BETTER GIVE ME BACK MY KID YOU LOWLIFE SINNER" the disoriented voice from Lucifer caused Vox to tremble in fear.

"Wait!! This must be a missunderstanding, this is Alastor's kid"

Lucifer sent Vox flying to one of his monitors.

"(Y/N) ITS MY KID YOU STUPID TV FREAK"

For once Alastor liked what the king said, however he was quicker to catch up on what must likely happened.

"And i tought you watched every move i made old pald" Alastor said returning to his usual form to take you towards Charlie who hugged you and kissed your head.

"I- i have other things to do than look at-for- THAN YOU" Vox said error flashing.

All of them turned to Vox who gave a small grind "Hey, im not that low to hurt a kid"

"I dont believe you sinner, you were given free will and ended here" Lucifer responded making Vox shiver.

"Dad!! Wait, he has Barney and can show ducks on his monitor"

"...ok and?"

"And you like ducks right?" You said louder looking at Vox to see if he got the hint, however Vox just blushed now realising that all this time you were talking about Lucifer and not Alastor.

"Alright, since you did not hurt (Y/N)...besides that shock you gave them earlier" Lucifer snapped his fingers getting the Power of the V's off. "I believe two weeks without your program, social media out of service and you wont be able to record....adult things its enough for a greedy soul as you and the other two"

"AND IF YOU EVER TRY TO DO THIS AGAIN IM TAKING YOU DOWN TO DO HORRIBLE THINGS TO YOU THAT I CANT SAY NOW BECAUSE MY KID IS HERE"

Vox nodded, getting a nod back from Lucifer who left with you on his arms.

"BYE NEW UNCLE!! TRY DUCKS"

Uncle? Nono, Alastor was your only uncle. He turned to Vox and broke off all his monitors.

After all of them left Vox fell down onto the floor.

ok so since i had dance practice today

mick and hamilton!reader would absolutely be the types to dance in the kitchen

and since salsa requires more energy to at would be their we’re making lunch but the food needs to sit in the pan for a bit and we have the space and time to be wrapped up in each other dance

i think they wouldnt dance in public at first cause they want this to just be their thing before its something the world knows

but one day on the paddock someone accidentally connects to a bluetooth speaker and one of their salsa songs come son and before anyone knows it mick has pulled hamilton reader close and they are in their own world salsa-ing around

everyone is like where is this music coming from and why is it so loud??? and then they turn their heads towards them two and they just watch in stunned silence and adoration

lewis is a smiling wideeeeeeee cause thats his sister!!!!! and her man treats her so welllllll

first of all, it's so cool you dance!!! I love it <3

second, yes, hamilton!reader and mick would totally dance, they have their own playlist after all, we should expect something like this from these two. They would waltz to the piano version of King of my heart, Mick just got home from sim work, and Yn is super tired and had just gotten home too, she's putting something together for dinner, and their shared playlist just ended, so now Spotify is playing similar stuff, and for some reason, it started playing the piano version of their song. Mick, who had just reached the kitchen door, hugged her tight, kissing her temple, and relaxing with her scent and touch. It was seconds, and they were still hugging so one of them casually started to move, and the other followed, and then they were just quietly dancing in each other's arms.

It would take a bit for them to get the hang of Salsa, but it was so much fun to learn with each other. They would share some tutorials, and their algorithm would help by suggesting salsa songs and TikToks. She would make fun of him, but also encourage him - get this right and I'm kissing you on the lips, one step wrong the kiss is on the cheek, and so on, all while in the kitchen. Some days they would move the sessions to the living room, dragging the coffee table to the corner of the room, and just having their fun. Angie would bark here and there especially when they would laugh, she would love to watch those two.

OMG OMG But the look they would share the second the music started playing, silently deciding if they would dance to this or just pretend it wasn't happening, but then Mick was grabbing her hand, and it started small, just one foot here, other there, but then you were dancing for real, and the whole time they were smiling at each other, eyes never leaving the other.

Lewis is the proud brother, and he would totally snap a small video of it (that thing about having a shared folder with Gina), whereas he's also the protective brother so yeah, he would tell how happier reader seems to be and how Yn happy means he's happy too, and meanwhile Mick is just nodding unaware of this is going, sipping his coffee, and watching Lewis go through his salad, at this point, Lewis is more talking than eating his food. And then boom, he asks when he'll be seeing a ring on her finger, and Mick chokes on his coffee, gulps at the tricky situation, and before he can confess to Lewis that he, in fact, got his mom's ring just a few weeks back, but he would probably wait a bit, Yn barges into the room laughing with Bono and Mick breaths in relief.

spritezee writes some of the best eridave fics out there. this one in particular is my favorite. its not only a space au but its really a love letter to the scifi genre and you can tell just reading through it that a lot of care went into the worldbuilding. dave and bros relationship is a total mess in a way thats honestly really interesting, and zee always writes a great dynamic for eridan and dave. plus, you HAVE to admit thats a great fucking title

The reference went straight over his head, which in hindsight should not have surprised you in the least because Pretty Woman isn’t really John’s usual genre, and even if it had been it’s not anywhere near obscure and shitty enough to catch his eye. When Rose asked you the same thing a few minutes later you told her you discovered the small store at the far side of your street carries penis-shaped candles and that you now swore by watching them slowly burn down right to the waxen ballsack as a therapeutic relaxation technique.

again, always a great eridan and dave dynamic w this author. if it wasnt really clear by the summary, this fic in particular is fucking hilarious and dave and his wandering metaphors are a lot of fun in it.

other than that, tho, all of my recommendations are just going to be more of spritezees fics, so i REALLY recommend that you just save me the time and go check out their stuff yourself. if i ever delve back into the eridave tag ill make sure to let yall know if i find any bangers

Vivia x Yakou - Ah yes, the og otp, ever since me and my boyfriend wanted to cosplay our respective favs before the game even released. Suffice to say were we ahead of the game on that one so we were pleasantly surprised it has some canon footing and it's simply sweet as hell! I personally love how this ship symbolizes that no matter how much you've lost, there's always something to gain and you still have the capacity to love.

Vivia x Worried Man - I won't lie this side quest completely caught me off-guard. My thought process went from 'aw he's in love' -> 'wait that's gay' -> 'WAIT THATS GAY WITH VIVIA' and I have never been the same since. It's pretty cute ngl, even if it's just a little side quest. Aaaaand then the rest of chapter 4 happened and I went right back to loving Viviakou, sorry Worried Man but you've got a lotta competition.

Vivia x Shinigami - Before the game released I theorized that Vivia could see Shinigami and I was so damn proud of myself to find out that I was right. Besides that, I always associated them as friends pre-release, but with chapter 4, their dynamic is very interesting. Vivia put her in her place throughout the entire labyrinth. He was more in control of the situation than she was cause he held more knowledge than any other assistant ever had before. He wasn't stuck in there with her, she was stuck in there with him. Anyways yeah I think they'd be platonic buddy ol' pals

Vivia x Fubuki - The 4-panel comic of them was adorable! I see them as friends but I can certainly see why people may view them in a more romantic light. They definitely paint each other's nails.

Vivia x Desuhiko - Another case of them being more like pals than a blossoming bromance. However, I do have a good platonic headcanon that Vivia knows how to play piano and has studied music theory as part of his endless reading escapades, so he'll sometimes help out Desuhiko when requested for assistance with practicing on his guitar. They're both very musically-inclined I know it in my heart.

Vivia x Halara - AKA the badasses. I don't view them as romantic personally, but I love them being the duo who kicks ass and takes names. Additionally, I'm sure Halara appreciates having a metaphorical cat around when they can't interact with actual cats.

Vivia x Yuma - Not uncommon for the protag to slip his way into every and all angles of ships, but I think this one works especially well. Yuma and Vivia have a very strong and well-written dynamic thanks to our lord and savior chapter 4; they develop alongside each other. It's just like Vivia said, they're accomplices, they have to fight for the truth together in order to clearly see eye-to-eye. We love short king with tall ghost guy! The appeal for this ship is very much apparent.

Vivia x Melami - I fought so hard for these two to interact and what did I get? Nothing! So, I wallow in my headcanons of them having a perfect partnership since their Fortes bounce off each other so well. Melami would absolutely despise Vivia's choice of 'clothing' though, she'd try to give him a makeover but he'd slip right out of her grasp before she could do anything.

Vivia x dying - As much as he adores the idea of death I don't think he's dying any time soon. The grim reaper plays hard to get.

Vivia x pillows - THE PAIRING HE DESERVES

Everyone except for Kris I want in the last chapter to have a song called kris.  it just,,,, it feels right. Every character has a main theme but them. I want them to get their own at the very end. A song you hear and think “yeah thats Kris” like any of the other characters themes.

Its been forever, but lets do part 2 of my IT brainrot. Same as pt 1 with Richie and Eddie, we're going into opposites, the use of character foils, etc but today with Stan and Bill. Now, I want to preface this by saying that theirs less use of opposites and digging for whats not there with these characters (and with Bev, Ben, and Mike) then there is with Eddie and Richie, but we're still doing this, because its still worth going into and the character foils make me froth at the mouth

Bill: Now, Bill is shown as a leader. He stops, and he thinks, even if its not always about the right thing (he's more concerned about georgie most the time than the others, and in the pt. 2 movie more worried about that kid than the others, but anyway). he thinks things through, and he leads- he may not be the bravest, but he's willing, and he brings them together, and thats something these kids always need. but if you really look at his actions, his words, etc- he's the impulse. for every time he thinks something through or tells the others they shouldnt do something, theirs two times he yanks them headfirst into a situationTM. just as much as he's the others impulse control, he's his own impulse.

Stan: this ones really, really fun for me. now, stan is always shown as being a good friend, but he's a kid and he's scared, and sometimes we can see that makes him think a bit more about his own safety than the picture at large (which, fair. not hating, just stating). he's shown to be sarcastic and a bit rude, which of course never hurts the others feelings, but its there. and he can be pretty apathetic to most things unless he's scared. BUT- and this is my favorite one of the buts- he's actually the most empathetic character. he can be completely fine, going through life or the situationTM of the day, and if he picks up on one of the others feeling uneasy or upset, he is too, and he (if not Bev) is the one to help calm down or ease the others most of the time. so not only is he a true empath, constantly feeling and picking up on what the others feel, he's empathetic in how he helps them and does his best to understand his friends, so despite how he can be shown as snippy and uncaring, he's a teddy bear empath through and through

And now, my favorite part, the comparison of them and character foils. lets jump in

like i said in pt. 1, every action has its equal opposite reaction- King used his character foils for the action and reaction, and because these two are character foils, every action Bill goes through has its equal opposite reaction to Stan, just like eddie and richie. every time bills dad yells at him to stop, to let it go, to forget and just move on (abt georgie), stans dad is pushing and pushing him to remember and to practice and to stop running around town and just sit down and focus (abt his torah). (the torah and a dead little brother are of course very different, but the action and reaction are the same idea of it all). every time bill cant sleep because his mom is crying while playing the piano and he's wishing he could relax, stan is forcing himself to sleep because the more he sleeps the less he has to worry about his bah mitzvah and having nightmares about suddenly forgetting his word in the middle of it. obviously this is very different from the way i described eddie and richie in part 1, and its a different situation for them, but thats because its different characters with different foils and the way King wrote them and etc this is how it goes.

so heres the thing, with these two, instead of having perfect direct differences and similarities, every one of their differences are so, so similar, and every one their similarites are so, so different. if richie and eddie are red and blue, complete opposites but mixing perfectly to make something beautiful, bill and stan are yellow and green, being made so much up of each other that when they mix, it just makes a different version of what is already there for both of them, and thats just as beautiful. instead of changing each other (for better OR worse) by being together and connected, they bring out the traits of each other that are the most hidden while still accenting what is most prominent. thats part of why i love these two so much and the way they work as characters and how they mix, and i cant wait to get more into titles and color theories of characters in another discussion.

Ok gurl I'm bad at describing genres Eliza Rickman is somewhere between Florence Welch and the Unwoman. She's what evermore Taylor wishes to be. Just imagine a feyish women in a white chiffon gown in a field of daisys singing baleful songs that are maybe sexual???

I don't have a lot to say about this album. If you like Eliza Rickman your gonna like this. She has a certain sound and I love it because I love beautiful esoteric women.

Ok I think I was confusion Addison Rae with Olivia Rodriguez. and then confusing her with Tate McRae. I'm really sorry pop girlies.

When I first heard Tate McRae I was up at a ridicoulas hour in december and felt like I should be hip with THEE YOUTHSSSSS.

I vagualy remember her as a bedroom pop girly singing these sad piano ballads and honestly did I jsut mix her up with another singer. Cause like I distinctly remember her doing like sad piano ballads and this ain't it. Which is a great thing because I actually kinda love this.

Like lets be real this is pretty standard what I think R&B is. WHich gurl how did I forget a complete genre of music. and you know what im ok with this being a bit generic because I don't know the genre and I'm vibing.

Ill have to check out her full albums and sorry for the shit I was talking earlier.

Ambient 1: Music for Airports (1978) - Brian Eno

Genre: Ambient Length: 42:20 (4 Tracks)

So I don't actually know if I ever finished this album.

Mostly because this album was meant as an instullation piece where it would be looped ad naseum but suffice to say.

BItch do you know what Ambient Music is? Its like music thats more about a calm and chill tone then it is about being energetic or attention grabbing. Its music thats designed to be ignored. The elegance of design.

This is fantastic. Sexisest Airport Music I would stick in my gob anytime.

Uptown Special (2015) - Mark Ronson

Genre: Funk, R&B Length: 38:50 (11 Tracks)

Uptown Special is probably most known by the layman for being the album that made Uptown Funk which is ft. Bruno Mars. I was already under the impression that it was the other way around. So I have learned and so have you.

I don't have much to say about this album. Think about funk music. Now imagine is someone made a really solid funk album with a bunch of fantastic guest artist including Stevie Wonder??? Thats crazy.

If anything Uptown Funk is one of the weakest song on this tracklist definetly worth a listen.

Cool Patrol (2018) - Ninja Sex Party

Genre: Comedy Rock? (thats what it says on Wikipedia will get into it) Length: 37:28 (15 Tracks)

OK did I like? Ninja Sex Party or was I just kinda horny for the vast majority of 2010s LP's. (I don't think I'm gay for Markiplier.... but)

So Ryen? What the fuck is Ninja Sex Party. ok. So its the 2010s, youtuber is full of comedic music videos and a star is born somewhere in the conceptional space adjacent to acts like LMFAO and Wierd Al. NSP is a comedic music duo consisting of Danny SexBang who is that guy in the spandex and Ninja Brian who is the mall ninja guy. SexBang likes to fuck and Brian likes to murder people a lot.

Most of the songs are these comedic sex jokes filled with dick puns and the music style is very 80s glam rock or power ballad. There not wrong when you call it comedic rock but its very limiting. Its very much a parody of those kinda corny 80s love ballads but NSP also dips there toes in Space Opera, comedic skits and so on and so forth. There pretty fun. If your a fan of like Leslie Hall or Key of Awesome or any other 2000s - 2010s comedic music artist then youd get a kick out of them.

This is pretty fun. Its like a dirty weird al yankovic album. Its not that deep fan.

Some thoughts on AI in art

Here are some thoughts on AI genertade images in art.

Some of these are mine, one of them is from Richard Williams book "The animator`s survival kit" and two of them are comments to a youtube video that talks about AI in art. (I have given credits to the original authors of those comments.)

A.I. is good and all but do we need A.I. art? Wasnt the point of A.I. that it would take over jobs that were too boring, difficult or dangerous for humans? Is doodling on a piece of paper too difficult now? A.I. art is for the consumer who wants their product delivered right NOW. A.I. art can be used as trainingwheels for artists but it shouldnt be the finished product. Are we artists or are we consumers?

AI image generators is great for lazy, impatient people who have no intention to learn how make their own art and are too cheap to hire an artist to draw for them.

AI is a tool, a double-edged sword. It can be used for a lot of fun things it can also work as a shortcut for lazy people. To be good at art takes time and effort and people are not very likely to want to learn how to create a painting if it is just the push of a few buttons away. The journey of learning is also an important part of becoming an artist.

Calling yourself an artist when you upload fully AI generated pictures is like calling yourself a chef because you heated some leftovers in the microwave oven.

When you tell an AI to generate some pics youre not the artist, youre the one who commissions the artwork, youre the employer. Now dont misunderstand what Im trying to say, this doesnt makes you bad, it just doesn`t make you the artist.

One thing that bugs me is when people say that AI "democratizes" art. It does not. I have seen sites on the internet, channels on youtube (Istebrak, Winged Canvas) and profiles on deviantart (Ethertingtonbrothers) filled with tutorials that teaches people how to draw. (How to draw perspective, buildings, wrinkles in clothes and more.) Heck, even before the internet there were short tutorials in Disney comic magazines (just to name one example) on how to draw Disney characters (like Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey Mouse and others). Art was democratized long before AI. Just like everyone else I started from zero and am slowly learning more. Just because you know nothing in the beginning doesnt mean that you cant learn and just because youre not good at something doesnt mean that you cant get better at it. "But it takes time." Some will say. Thats right, art takes time. Art. Takes. Time. Sure, AI is faster, but it`s also like taking piano lessons on a self playing piano.

AI generated images are like the photorealistic remake of the Lion King: Sure, the technology is impressive but still… why?

Obviously, natural talent is a great help and the desire is essential, but drawing can be taught and drawing can be learnt. It's best to have done a ton of it at art school to get the foundation in early. But it can be done at any time. Just do it."

A lot of what I've been seeing about the "wonders" of AI art, it's never really impressed me because it plays off of the novelty of this being able to replicate styles without an artist's hand. I'm more impressed with its application to speed up certain production processes by being a supplement to the artist's vision. I feel people get so enamored by the flashiness of some new technology and go all in on that for the news outlets when its practical application is more subtle and boring. -Yensid951927 (youtube)

The reason people don't mess around with the music industry is because they have conglomerates and lawyers in place to punish those who don't respect their property. It may be cynical but I think the only thing that will keep artists safe from these bro personalities are legitimate financial threat and follow through. I think a limited version of AI, as a tool, can help actual artists do their work better but never replace it. After a year, my father and my mother we're wondered how in the world that i can read music notes and then thats it, my life as a Musician.

In recent past year, a lot of things happened, there was a disease that spead over the whole world that causes people to quarantined in their houses. What most people know is that the pandemic has not done anything good but we were wrong. Pandemic helps us to have more time with our family and because of COVID we discovered different things such as our strengths and weaknesses. In the past years, I was just only in our house together with my family, playing piano everyday, playing mobile legends, playing call of duty, eating, and sleeping. I am thankful because of COVID, we got a time to share together with our family, we have enough time to create more strong bonds towards each other. These past year, I also discovered my strengths and weaknesses. My strengths that I discovered are being an independent, dedicated, fast learner, confident, determined, open minded, enthusiast, brave, and disciplined. My weaknesses that I discovered these past years are being an Insecure, thats why I started to change my hairstyle into a curly hair like a pancit canton. Being overthinker, it is one of the weaknesses that i realized that i have, I overthink things that we dont need to think too much. And being an Impatient, I am boy who is impatient and wants things in a faster way. These strengths and weaknesses of mine made me realized that these made me who I am, these made me strong like a lion and independent. Album of the Week: ‘Vapor Sessions 3-4′ by OSC

Stand out song: ‘Megane, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva’. 

I am always writing in one of my notebooks and having a little pocket sized Field Notes with me everywhere I go is a great source of comfort for me as I used it constantly to jot down thoughts and to get things down which I then know have gone from my mind or rather are stored somewhere else for a little while. The Field Notes notebooks are such an integral part of my everyday life and at this point, I couldn’t imagine not having one with me. Now, with all of this note taking there is perhaps a slight tendency to want to quantify everything and to list it all and thats actually something that I actively try and move away from. I use the notebooks and the note taking as a more natural and organic writing method now rather than listing everything and sticking with it to a rigid degree. This has at times extended to other platforms such as the Spotify wrapped where I am trying to make sure it records all of my listening and that can come at the detriment to other platforms or formats of listening to music.I stepped away from that way of thinking in 2022 however, at the start of this year I for a moment or two felt it starting to creep back in which is only natural when the thinking is documenting this new year. What drew me out of it however, was the follow up to a record that I fell in love with last year as the moment I saw that a new release from the artist OSC had made its way to my Bandcamp library, I knew I had to return and what a return it was. 

It perhaps speaks to the strength of Vaporwave as a genre in my life and a genuine part of it that only about ten days not listening to any Vaporwave songs felt like an absolute age in my world. And as ten days is not that long at all, I don’t think I can really get away with this being called a return to Vaporwave as I was never really gone but hey, lets say it a little as its hopefully going to help show how much I adore ‘Vapor Sessions 3-4′. One of the greatest joys that I have are the unexpected Friday release from Club Flamingo by way of My Pet Flamingo that appear in my Bandcamp Library. We know this, I’ve discussed it many times before such as when OSC’s ‘Vapor Sessions 1-2′ made its appearance and stole my headphones for, well, everyday since it made its debut really. When I saw OSC had released a new album i was excited, when I saw it was a direct follow up to the compilation of hits of ‘1-2′ I didn’t know what to do with myself. Ofcourse, this time around the album had the added pressure, at least in my head, of following up the one that came before it that is very special. Not only does ‘3-4′ prove itself to be a worthy successor, but it does so in a wholly new way. Yes, it still a Vaporwave record but it feels like it is drawing from a different sphere of the genre to some extent. It feels different, yes it is a continuation but its still its own thing. Its Elvis’ comeback show, still the king but now clad in Leather I guess. 

There are a hell of a lot of hits on this record, twelve to be exact, but really there is only one in my eyes. ‘Megane, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva’ is the one. And when I say the one, I mean the one. Dare I say it even eclipses ‘Skateparks at Sunset’ from ‘1-2′ which I adore with my whole heart. ‘Megane’ opens with the sound of trains and station announcements from Japan. Now, I could leave this here, because really any song that opens like that is going to shoot right to the top of my list as it draws the world into its performance. The thing is ‘Megane’ only gets better from there as its gentle rhythmic thumping builds with some little flairs and hints at whats to come before the piano work at 1:25 that spends my head spiraling. ‘Megane’ is a song that on one hand seems to mimic the start of the day and on the other could as easily be a representation of the evening beginning whether that be to unwind or to head out into the city. OSC seems to excel at making music that feels like the everyday, its finding the beauty in it and reflecting it back to you to draw from. I wrote in my notebook the other day that if I was going to make a bold prediction, that it would be that ‘Megane’ would be my song of the year for 2023. Now, that is bold as there is a lot of if not all of the year to go and who knows what connections I’m going to make with tracks and albums in that time however, I do think that at the end of the year when I’m working my way through what has impacted the year that will be 2023 I think I’ll see ‘Megane’ there. And when I put it on, I’ll remember this feeling. This feeling of forcing me to sit back, to feel flow, to breathe and to just be as the music envelopes you. 

That prediction might not be so bold afterall.
