Why was there never a Hotel California episode why was there not an episode about a hotel in the middle of nowhere that looks pretty normal at first glance but the food is strangely bland because they don't use salt, and some of the other guests have no idea what year it is, and the staff are strangely insistent that they can't leave right now, and when they look closer all the people there are ghosts that aren't aware they're dead, and the hotel is cursed, and they're trapped in there

The two of you were quite opposite. Sam's always been more reserved and introverted while you are talkative with whoever you meet and almost completely extroverted. With his and his teammates' growing social status and relevancy, he's been forced to come out of his shell more than he ever thought imaginable. Very often you force him out of the house to go out to the bar with your hometown friends.
What Sam typically dislikes is having to be the designated driver whilst his gorgeous girlfriend practically throws herself at him. Your leg has been draped lazily across his thighs all evening, but the more you drank the more you were all over him. "C'mon Sammy, we can slip off to the bathroom, no one'll notice" you giggle, making his face turn an even deeper shade of red if that's even physically possible.
He can feel his face warming up more and more following every dirty little thing you whisper into his ear as you kiss along his neck and slightly stubbled jaw line. Now that he has to find a way to get your stumbling form from here to his car sitting outside, he's regretting letting you drag him out tonight. You're smirking up at him so mischievously he doesn't even know what to do or say, which leads to him struggling to form a sentence, "Maybe w-we should head home?"
Embarrassingly enough his voice cracks as he attempts to get his words out, "Mmm, yes please," your teeth sink into your bottom lip, still doing you best to seduce him. He stifles a laugh at the way you misunderstood his wording, "No, like, go home and get you in bed." Your brows raise at that, "NO! Like sleeping."
It takes him up most of twenty minutes to get you into the car, but when he does, he's quick to shut your door and get on the road as soon as possible. You flutter your lashes at him as he reaches across your body to buckle your seat belt, "Y'could help me out just a little," he mutters. Once more your minds in the gutter as you bite back a response, "I would love to," you whisper grabbing at his wrist and placing his hand high upon your thigh, close enough for his finger to brush against your lacy panties.
Sam's quick to snatch it away and does everything he can to keep from allowing your teasing touches throughout the whole car ride. Before he realizes it, he's pulled into the driveway, but you're no longer making your flirty comments, instead snoring to your hearts content in an alcohol fueled coma. Without you moving a muscle Sam scoops you up bridal style and carried you to the front door, he didn't think through unlocking the door which led to a bit more struggle before he gets you into bed.
He makes his way to the in suite to find a makeup wipe and something more comfortable than the dress you're sporting right now, when he does, he returns to find you attempting to get your dress unzipped. "What me to help," you glance up at him slightly and nod, all the drinks are suddenly hitting you and you realize how bad thing is going to feel tomorrow morning, after he assists you, he gives you one of his t-shirts to sleep in.
Once you're comfortable in bed, Sam decides to go and get himself ready for bed, this time when he returns, he shuts out the lights and finds you sprawled out onto both sides of the bed. He snorts at that as he tries to wiggle his way into bed beside you and pulls you into him.

The Amberlynn Reid Mentality
hi lovelies, this post is going to seem a bit aggressive but some of you need it!
Some of you might know of a youtuber called Amberlynn Reid. For those of you who don’t know her, she is an obese woman who has been documenting her weightloss journey for the last 10 years or so. Amberlynn has been critiqued by plenty of reaction youtubers, she has video essays and iceberg videos all about her, due to all of her *lore*, her personality, the way she treats people etc
But something about her that makes her relevant to Manifestation is her mentality regarding her weightloss journey. You see, other than her victim mentality Amberlynn ends every program she does with this medical mystery mentality, that these things work for anyone but her.
This “everyone but me” womp womp boohoo mentality is something some baby manifestors need to realise they hold and strengthen in themselves every time they ask or talk about:
- but what about my circumstance
- I did this method and it didn’t work
etc
The Law of Assumption is a UNIVERSAL, INALIENABLE law
this means it works for EVERYONE, it does not discriminate, there is no special snowflake that just doesn’t get to do it. This is also because manifestation isn’t some magic wand, it is simply built into us.
There is no circumstance that matters unless you let it matter. The 3d does not control your life, your inner beliefs do, so once you stop taking the 3D as fact and final you will realise that no circumstance can stop you. Seriously i don’t care if you pissed on an SP’s grandma and crashed their car into their house like it does not matter.
As for methods, Sammy Ingram mentions this sometimes but, if you do a method and then immediately go and check your 3D and say “nope it didn’t work” then you are just creating a dominant belief that conscious manifestation (techniques) don’t work for you. (i am saying conscious manifestation because unconscious manifestation is constantly happening lol). Remember that conscious manifestation starts from inside. Let the technique work for you, it is not a magic wand you wave and get what you want, it changes your inner self which is then reflected into the 3D. You can have anything you want, but thanks to yourself not a technique
Conscious manifestation does work for you, and if you have before this hammered into your mind that it doesn’t, then work on that. Affirm to yourself that manifestation is so easy for you, trust yourself or at least the law.

Suptober23 - Day 8: Satanic Panic
“There, standing among the wreckage, is what you presume to be a man. At least until the dust settles and then you can see him clearly. Deep red skin, horns that extend over his head,” Sam’s hands raise above his head, stopping midway to widen the distance between the two. “Straight until they curve backwards and then they come back up.” At everyone’s baffled expression, Sam huffs and grabs a piece of paper and Dean’s pen. Dean can’t see over the laptop, but it doesn’t take a genius to guess he’s drawing. “A long tail curves and lashes behind him. White eyes, no pupil to be seen, almost shining as he stares at y’all. No armor, but he’s holding a butcher knife in his hand.”
Sam grimaces at his drawing before putting down in the middle of the table. They all lean forward to see Sam’s stick figure fighting for its life to resemble anything. Dean laughs first, but Ash, Charlie and Castiel follow him easily.
“No!” Sam successfully bats at his hand when Dean brings out his phone, but isn’t fast enough to stop Charlie’s. “Guys, come on!” He whines. “Murder demon waiting here.”
Dean would bet his life on the fact that the groupchat Charlie created for the party has the badly drawn sketch as a profile picture already, but he puts his own phone down and raises his hands as a sign of surrender.
“That lawyer degree is clearly lost on you, Sammy, you’re Van Gogh’s second coming.” He cannot stop himself from saying, and smirks at Sam flipping him off.
“Oh!” Castiel says, looking up from his phone. “The horns, are they supposed to be a mimicry of an Impala’s?”
Dean leans towards Castiel and looks at his phone. “Motherfucker. They are!” He looks back at his brother. “Can’t believe you’re going to make me kill Baby.”
“We don’t necessarily need to kill him,” Ash points out. “But it does seem to be the fastest way to get the fuck out of here.”
“Shame on you, Samuel. What kind of sick fantasy is this that you’re nursing? Did Baby try to kill you or something?”
“He’s gonna attack you.” Sam deadpans.
“Wait, for real?”
“Yes! You’re just standing there, covered in blood and not paying attention to him.”
“Don’t be a dick,” Dean says, “We’re messing around.”
“Is that a fiend?” Castiel asks, the player’s handbook that he brings to all sessions opened on the table. He’s such a nerd.
“Technically, they’re humanoids.” Charlie responds before Sam can answer. “So I don’t think they count as fiends.”
Castiel furrows his brow. “Isn’t it a demon?”
“Ah,” Dean brings the book close to him and goes to the index. “No, man, it’s a tiefling. Half demon at best,” He finds the page he needs and goes to it to show Cas. “Kinda like how you’re not an angel angel.”
“I’m not an angel in any way.”
“Well, Aasimar is kinda-”
“There’s no angels in Dungeons and Dragons, Dean.”
“Shows what you know, there’s definitely angels in D&D.”
Castiel looks accusingly at Sam. Sam raises his hands in an echo of Dean a few minutes ago. “Not playable, more as a creature you can encounter.”
“Aw, Cas, did you wanna be a lil angel?” Dean teases.
“The symbolic relevance of it was an interesting counterargument to all that I was taught about this game in my childhood.” Cas answers, completely serious and taking all the wind out of Dean’s sails. “To be fair, I think my parents assumed this was more satanic and somehow selling our souls than fighting demons with math.”
“It’s not about the math,” Dean despairs over Castiel’s whole life as he continues, “It’s about the adventure and getting to kill stuff and have a good time and not eternal damnation or whatever your folks said.”
Castiel smiles, small, before grabbing the book again. His hand caresses the picture of the tiefling on the book. “I know, Dean.”
“Well. Good.”
Sam clears his throat. “You guys gonna roll initiative now or what?”

JORDAN KYROU (Rouzy)
Info: #25, RW, STL 35th in 2016 (listed as a center ? does not play center)
Last season: 37 goals + 73 pts (career high goals!)
History: played a handful of games in the 18-19 season, but his real rookie season was in 19-20 and was cut short due to covid. Broke out for real in the 20-21 season and in the 2022 offseason signed an 8 year contract extension !! Won the fastest skater competition at the 2021 all star game!
Profile: great goal scorer at his best, often passes for the "perfect play" instead of shooting. Not super physical
Other: besties with Robert Thomas, they even signed matching contracts <3
ROBERT THOMAS (A) (Thommer) (Tommer?)
Info: #18, C, STL 20th in 2017
Last season: 18 goals + 65 pts (team lead in assists !)
History: played most of the 18-19 season and won the cup as a rookie! Had a good season considering he was on a team of more dominant veterans, very notably received That One Hit from Krug in the SCF
Profile: Not a massive goal scorer but definitely can score, more of a playmaker. Struggles with overpassing for the perfect play. Resident faceoff man post-ROR trade.
Other: besties with Kyrou :)
PAVEL BUCHNEVICH (Buch)
Info: #89, LW, NYR 75th in 2013
Last season: 26 goals + 67 pts
History: traded to Blues in 2021 and immediately had a career season. Was good on the Rangers, is even better on the Blues.
Profile: Great goal scorer! Very good shorthanded this season, already has 2 SHG! Hasn't been his best year overall but would be surprised if he didn't get at least 20 goals
Other: has never played a full 82 game season
BRANDON SAAD (Saader)
Info: #20, LW, CHI 43rd in 2011
Last season: 19 goals + 27 pts
History: won 2 cups with the Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015. Signed with the Blues in 2021 as a free agent
Profile: very consistent 20-ish goal scorer! Has been moved around the lineup quite a bit this season but is usually on the second or third line, great depth goal scorer
Other: not super relevant but inch resting to me, he was traded from Chicago to Columbus in the infamous Artemi Panarin trade
BRAYDEN SCHENN (C) (Schenner)
Info: #10, C, LAK 5th in 2009
Last season: 21 goals + 65 pts
History: important piece in the 18-19 cup season, scored a goal in game 7 of the SCF! Was an alternate captain for 3 seasons under ROR, currently his first season as captain :)
Profile: Usually a 20-ish goal scorer, production has suffered this year from being moved around the second and third lines
Other: I'm still jumpscared by him being in 2013-era Flyers fics to this day. He played on the Flyers with his brother Luke for several (4?) seasons !!
JAKE NEIGHBOURS (Jakey) (?)
Info: #63, LW, STL 26th in 2020
History: Technically in his sophomore season, was unexpectedly called up for 43 games last season + made the roster full time this year out of camp. Worked his way up from the fourth line to the first line before settling down to the second line after the coaching change. He's having whatever the opposite of a sophomore slump is! It's definitely been a breakout season for him so far
Profile: Good goal scorer, was briefly leading the team in goals. Very physical guy, doesn't take many penalties considering he's not afraid to throw himself around
Other: Roommates with rookie goalie Hofer, and they both spent the Christmas holidays with the Schenn family! They do a very cute little thing during the goalie headbutt line :)
SAMMY BLAIS
Info: #79, LW, STL 176th in 2014
Last season: 9 goals + 20 pts in 31 games post-trade deadline
History: Played on the 18-19 cup-winning team (was #9), traded to NYR (for Buchnevich) in 2021, scored NO GOALS in 2 seasons there, traded back in 2023 and scored career high 9 goals post trade deadline.
Profile: Usually a physical player, worked well on the relentless 2019 team. Struggling to find his place on the current team, sometimes a healthy scratch
KEVIN HAYES (Hayesy)
Info: #12, C, CHI 24th in 2010 (listed as LW ? but has been playing center)
Last season: 18 goals + 54 pts (PHI)
History: Drafted by Chicago but played for Boston College (apparently had an injury where he almost lost his leg????). Played several years on the Rangers, about ten minutes in Winnipeg, played several years in Philadelphia, and got traded to the Blues in the 2023 offseason for a couple of rocks (a 6th round pick). Part of the controversial trade that made Krug invoke his no-trade clause.
Profile: Good depth scoring and fantastic faceoff man. Decently physical player and he battles well enough that he's already got 10 goals to show for it.
Other: cousin of Keith Tkachuk! His brother (former player, retired in 2019) unfortunately passed away in 2021 and every time he scores, he points to the sky for him :,)
KASPERI KAPANEN (Kappy)
Info: #42, RW, PIT 22nd in 2014
Last season: 15 goals + 34 pts (PIT + STL)
History: Drafted by the Penguins but was traded to the Leafs where he played 5 seasons, then traded BACK to the Penguins where he played 2 1/2 seasons, then put on waivers. The Blues picked him up in 2023 and he put up a solid 14 pts in 23 games. He fought his way up from the minors and has played exclusively in the NHL since the 18-19 season.
Profile: Good depth player. Very fast but doesn't shoot very much. Currently on the fourth line, usually higher but was moved down as other players (notable Neighbours) moved up the lineup.
NATHAN WALKER (Walks)
Info: #26, LW, WSH 89 in 2014 (currently playing center, my sources are conflicting but he's currently playing center so. he might be a center)
Last season: 2 goals + 10 pts
History: He's Australian! He was born in Wales! He holds basically all of the Australian records since he's one of like 4 Aussie players ever. He played his first NHL games in the 2018 playoffs and won the cup the with Capitals! Unfortunately did not play enough games for his name to be on the cup. He's technically only played a handful of games this year and started with the AHL team but he's been on the team for a few years now and he just signed a 2-year one-way extention, so you'll probably be seeing more of him :)
Profile: Physical player despite being undersized (5'9). Not a big scorer but provides a major physical presence on a not very physical team.
Other: look at his instagram right now his kids are so goddamn adorable
ALEXEY TOROPCHENO (Torpo)
Info: #13, RW, STL 113th in 2017
Last season: 10 goals + 19 pts
History: Played in the KHL in 20-21 due to issues with the Blues AHL affiliate (goodbye San Antonio Rampage, fuck VGK). Made his Blues debut when a covid outbreak on the team forced them to call up a number of players.
Profile: Physical player! Kinda massive (6'6) so he can and WILL run guys over. Fast and relentless player who doesn't give up the puck easily. Mostly a 4th line grinder but he WORKS on that 4th line. Great penalty killer, already has 2 shorthanded goals on the season
Other: this has less of an impact now because it's just him and buch, but back when there were numerous russian players i always called him my favorite russian. this still stands <3
OSKAR SUNDQVIST (Sunny)
Info: #70, C, PIT 81st in 2012
Last season: 10 goals + 28 pts (DET + MIN)
History: The Blues offseason signing of the century. Played a handful of games with the Penguins in the 16-17 season when they won the cup, but didn't play enough games for his name to be on it. Signed to the Blues 18-19 team on a one-year deal and had his best season to date, won the cup for real this time to boot. Traded to the Red Wings in 2022, then traded to the Wild at the 2023 deadline.
Profile: As a center, he's a solid faceoff man, a solid physical presence, and I think he really exudes everything that worked about the 2019 team. Good defensive forward on the fourth line.
Other: A huge fan of the STL MLS team! Went to games even before he had officially signed here. I think the entire city of STL likes this guy he seems cool. Also the Sundqvist + Walman for Leddy + Witkowski trade is known for being absolutely awful. jake walman if ur reading this pls come back

Bloodlust is such a good thematic & dean study episode especially on rewatch
You’ve got Gordon as a reflection of what Dean could be if he listened to John, Dean struggling to balance John’s legacy and his memory of him with his final instruction, Sam saying John did the best he could and generally seeing him more positively than when he was alive, which only makes Dean’s turmoil worse
You have the introduction of the idea that monsters aren’t inherently bad (and I LOVE that the first instance is with vampires in light of Dean’s later connection with Benny) and with that the idea that there isn’t a straightforward “right” path because things aren’t black and white, like Gordon is claiming, which gets more and more important in relation to Sam for the whole first apocalypse arc and remains relevant throughout the show
And you have the Dean dialogue
So. I pick up this crossbow. And I hit that ugly sucker with a silver-tipped arrow right in his heart. Sammy's waiting in the car, and uh, me and my dad take the thing into the woods, burn it to a crisp. I'm sitting there and looking into the fire, and I'm thinking to myself, I'm sixteen years old. So… what exactly from the books is canon? Are the Crackup Comics canon? Is the Illusion of Living canon? I know that the novels have a lot of differences from the games, but what can we even really take at face value from the games anymore???
Bendy and the Ink Machine implies that the actual workers’ souls ended up in that iteration of the Cycle through the coffin easter eggs iirc, the novels proceed to make that canon (although it’s largely only showing us a cast of people not connected to the game, excluding Sammy and some others), and now… Dark Revival is just ignoring all of that? Huh???
I guess Henry… was never real. Okay. What exactly is the beginning/ending of Bendy 1 then? Why would Henry experience something that akin to reality if he was never real?
And not only that, but what’s going on with Joey? Dark Revival’s surface-level narrative portrays him as a man who had done ambiguously flawed things in the past, but that he was ultimately a good and loving person at heart, hence the weird “memory” version of Joey (who is also… made of flesh, or so to speak, and also can be killed??).
And yet, despite this more sympathetic portrayal, if you dig deeper, you find a note implying that he made a variety of sentient Audrey’s and then scrapped them (hmmm, I wonder where I’ve heard that before), which seems like a pretty clear example of him being a complete monster? Like, you created life, and then you decided to just snuff it out or lock it away because it wasn’t what you specifically meant to make.
And yet Dark Revival doesn’t spend much time criticizing Joey for how he seems to have a careless attitude towards this life he’s creating. I mean, I guess it kinda does that in some places, but at the end of the day, the game ends with Audrey inspirationally quoting Joey, and then carrying on his legacy, and the game also has him inspirationally monologue to you twice about how you were his greatest creation.
I've been a longtime fan of World of Warcraft, a game which is over 20 years old at this point, and still gets a new expansion or book every year. With a game of this size, we're used to retcons, and the general rule of thumb is "if new lore contradicts old lore, then new lore should be treated as canon". I'm going to adopt the same rule for Bendy.
I think Crack-up Comics are canon, because they don't really contain anything contradictory other than Nathan being listed as the head of a film studio, despite rejecting the idea in one of his audiologs. That could still be explained with Wilson aka Nathan Junior being the head of Archgate Films and Archgate Pictures being its subsidiary.
TIOL is probably also canon, because it doesn't contain anything particularly lore-relevant.
The Employee Handbook... is more tricky. it definitely had some directions from Mike and Meatly, like that wedding invitation from Allison to Joey. But it also has stuff that was lifted from the Bendy wiki, and the info in the wiki is not always accurate. It literally has my outdated instructions for how to get a scythe, which wasn't accurate and was just me describing all I did in my playthrough until the moment I found the scythe. Half the steps in it is redundant and can be skipped. There's this weird thing with the letter addressed to Henry, where the date is a faded 194- and the stamp is from 1942-1946, but while looking around I found the same stamp on stock image websites so it's hard to tell whether the illustrator was explicitly instructed to use a stamp from the 40s, or just slapped a random oldtimey-looking stamp they found and never expected the fans to look into it. The relevance of that will depend on how serious M&M are about the different timelines concept they've touched on lightly in BATDR.
DCTL AND TLO are tricky... For one they show people turn into ink creatures and back to humans while remaining alive, including Sammy, which contradicts his coffin name in BATIM. Audrey's monologue at the end of BATDR about "Joey's world escaping into ours" made it sound like the ink dimension has always been separate from the real world, yet in the books ink creatures walk around like everyone else. Of course, Audrey only knows what memory!Joey told her, and what she's learned via notes, and like you said the notes and audio logs in BATDR portray a very different situation to the books and BATIM. Whether it's a retcon or a set up for Audrey thinking that she had a nice heroic dad only to find out the truth in the next game, it remains to be seen. There's still that promised BATDS update and the upcoming book so maybe they will shine more light on it.
I definitely hope that's the reveal they're setting up, because otherwise the most likely explanation for why Joey's crimes are swept under the rug, while every single JDS employee he victimized is portrayed as a thieving cannibal, is because he's the character most often compared to Mike Mood and the devs pulled a JKR, with that book she wrote where the protag is murdered by the evil twitter crowd after being unjustly cancelled for making transphobic remarks. Let's pray that's not it, because it sure makes it very hard to ignore the real life controversies surrounding the devs, when they insist on putting them in their games.

DISCLAIMER: Everyone who writes fic is awesome for doing it and should do what they want and my opinion doesn't matter because who gives a fuck what I think??? Write what makes you happy!!! It doesn't matter!!! If someone doesn't like it they can read something else or write their own fic!!!! I will jump to the defense of an author whose work I don’t even like if they get a bitchy entitled comment from some jerkweed who thinks every fic should be written exactly how THEY want.
That said, in MY opinion *breathes*:
Need more of Cas being a bitch. Cas can be cool sometimes yes and sometimes he can be awkward yes but also he doesn't answer the phone, and when you call him out for ghosting you he just shrugs and says he was busy. He rolls his eyes because you're exasperating and your voice is grating. He ate his own siblings a few times and also said he wanted them all to die because they were so annoying about free will in season 6. Like yes he does little puppy dog eyes and says “sorry” but then he does that same shit again for the 12 billionth time to everyone around him.
Need more of Dean being that guy. The "I was right about the thing and you didn't listen to me and it blew up in your face, idiot" guy. Like a lot of fics that are Dean centric seem to focus on Dean's self worth issues and his belief that no one loves him and he doesn't deserve happiness because he is a Loser and Stupid and a Weapon and is parentified which is a thing that Dean deals with feeling, but he is also THEEE most annoying hoe when he is right about something and he will NOT shut the fuck up about it. There is a lot of "Nobody will ever love me I am not smart like Sammy ;_;" and I would love to read more "I am literally the actual psychic in this family and I can sniff out how this stupid plan you came up with will fail with the accuracy of a bloodhound looking for a corpse that is just 2 feet away and I will tell you exactly how dumb you are then the universe will prove me right after you go behind my back and I WILL remind you about it at least 5 times." Yes Dean has self-worth issues but also yes Dean will endlessly shit on beings who could kill him in the blink of an eye and will tell everyone they are fucking stupid.
Nobody can write Sam. Not you, not me, not his fans, not his haters. If, by some miracle, a person CAN write Sam accurately, then they write the best Sam ever written in the entire universe and there are galaxies exploding in your brain as you read his inner monologue... until you get to the part where Dean or Cas becomes relevant and then you immediately have to click out of the fic because this author put every single stat they have into Sam Understanding and apparently there’s are Cas Understander and Dean Understander penalties for doing that of like negative 5 trillion. Worst takes you have ever seen in your entire life. It is too painful to continue reading. Horrible crimes are being committed.
If Kevin appears in a Sam-centric fic there is a good chance the author is mean about him.
Now that we can exclude things from search results on AO3, I need a tag called: #Everyone gets an A+ on their Mental Health Report Card after the decades of torture and/or lobotomies except Dean who is the Only Fucked Up One Because He Just Can't Manage Like Everyone Else Can And He Is Explicitly Treated As A Burden For Having Trauma Instead Of The Idea Of Him Being A Burden Being Subverted.
Fics where Cas shows up in the fic to randomly bring dues ex machina from randomcountry and then disappear again as unobtrusively and robotically as possible "You're welcome my friends Sam and Dean Winchester beep boop" *flies away on wings ignoring canon wing loss timeline* are just????
I notice many authors don’t care/remember when Cas does and doesn’t have certain powers in canon and he flies everywhere and it leaves me very disoriented. Like who even IS a Cas who never lost his wings? That is a different guy.
Every time someone writes "Dean finally pulls his head out of his ass" in the summary of their destiel fic a cute baby animal gets swallowed up by quicksand.
Making Benny evil is a self-report that you don’t know how to write a friend or love interest for Dean that is better than him and that fact lives rent free in your head.

i have to rant about this because i'm tired of seeing it 20 times a day in my personal activity, and i probably have already ranted here, but anyway --- 1) sammy was not in tai's care to begin with, he was with simone's parents, so even if tai hadn't left suddenly, he would not suddenly go back to her. i promise he is not still waiting to be picked up from school. 2) she was elected as senator literally a week ago, she has not been sworn in to office yet, she is not skipping out on her job, i promise her being elected as senator is still very relevant to her motivations + her ongoing arc.
mostly my frustration is the claim that "the show just forgot about tai's family" because i think that misses the point of tai's arc, which is that she literally did just ghost them. the point is that she did not care and that she, selfishly to her family and her team and to v.an, skipped town without warning or explanation because she needed help but wasn't willing to do it anyone else's way. we are supposed to be left wondering how her family is doing because tai made the selfish choice.
it's only been a few days too, but regardless, they're still mentioned throughout her arc and the show has not "forgotten" about them. she breaks down to v.an about desperately needing help because she put her family in danger, she opens up to l.ottie about this other version of herself wanting to hurt her family, she jumps when the phone rings thinking it's the hospital, and her voicemail notes that her in laws are rightfully angry with her. they're still very much a part of her arc and her motivations.
there are plenty of criticisms to give her that she absolutely has earned. she felt so threatened by simone's continuous attempts to support her + get her help that she crashed the car with her in it, then ultimately left her behind without knowing if she was going to recover. even though sammy is not in her care, she could have been there to support him through a very scary time, but she wasn't. her assistant was trying to help her prepare to eventually take office but she took her car and left it on the side of the road without giving her any explanation. but her immediately leaving town without warning, without explanation, and without actively checking in constantly herself is not the show "forgetting" about these things, it's the show making a point to what kind of wife, mother, and leader she is. she is selfish, her motivations are selfish, and it's okay to admit that because that's what her arc is telling us.
i would like a resolution about simone's recovery, but i don't think it fit into season 2 -- partly because we ended the season with tai still at the compound and she does not have a resolution herself, so it makes sense that viewers wouldn't either --- but more importantly because it seems like her season 3 arc is set up for her to try to get her life back in order, starting here. it can't be as simple as she wants it to be, but what she wants is for everything to be "perfect" again, to get her wife + kid back not out of love but out of fixing her life to make it seem right again. it can't go back to that, her family doesn't deserve to just be an accessory in her life, and it's not what's right for tai either, but that is her whole goal this season despite having left them --- she fucked up with them and she has to face her problem head on so she can circle back and make it right again, using v.an to her own benefit in the process, but tai's definition of 'making it right' is not what's right for any of them.

Do you think we get another bendy game? I heard meatly said "we barely even started."

Yeah, I think… the idea that they’re angling towards another game in this franchise makes sense. As others have pointed out, there’s SO many notes and memos setting up Gent as important and sinister, but Gent has no real part in this story other than “an explanation for what all this non-studio stuff is,” and you’d only really need one memo for that. Establishing Mr. Gray as a sinister figure who’s looking for the Ink Machine doesn’t serve any purpose in THIS game… so you have to wonder if it’s meant for another.
I’m just… well, I dunno, I don’t have as much curiosity about the world of Bendy as I did before BatDR. Lemme ponder this...
Like, I was curious about the space between 1946 and close of studio – you know, were they still doing cartoons, or did they pivot into Bendyland? Who was composing music for them? What actually happened to Bertrum? – and I guess some of those questions still stand, but apparently that time period is mostly setting up Gent taking over, making it less and less of an animation studio, bringing in an outside force I’m a lot less interested in. And like, I was curious about how various characters became the way they are in BatIM – but... BatIM is fictional in BatDR’s canon, so… they didn’t. Joey made it up. End of mystery. I don’t necessarily think that’s a poor choice for a story, but it does kind of close the door on exploring the original BatIM and makes it sort of impossible to return there again. And I was curious how bringing back the Bendy franchise in-world would affect the Ink Realm – I thought the concept of a “dark revival” that’s actually a literal revival of the franchise was a really neat idea – but… it isn’t, really. The Ink Realm is only different because Wilson is able and willing to muck about in it for unexplained reasons; it's unaffected by the new studio and new cartoons starting up haven’t affected the ink realm in any way.
So, gosh, what would I even be curious about? What is there to explore or discover? BatIM's fun as you try to peace together What Went Wrong, but it's harder to find something relevant to piece together here. The Gent-brand Unethical Science Zone might use the ink machine to make weird monsters, I guess… But that doesn’t really have anything to do with anything that I care about. “We’re morally questionable and have a machine that can make sludge monsters, what crimes will we commit” isn’t a super compelling premise on its own.
But okay. I’ve thought about this for a bit and here’s a thing I can come up with on short notice:
I would enjoy a game where you play a major character (Joey’s a good one; Sammy, Alice/Susie, Allison, and Tom would also work) in Audrey’s reset Ink Realm, maybe with minimal memories after the reset, but trying to figure stuff out by searching through the various memories in the form of audiologs and memos throughout the Studio; bonus points if something in the narrative confirms that regardless of how fake the world is, these memories ARE real, so that we can trust audiologs again lmao. You learn you are probably artificially created, but want to know more about the person you were supposed to be and their relationships to the others, and probably end up questioning whether or not this person is someone you actually want to be by the end.
This world is Audrey’s design, so it can be more focused on an Animation Studio and lean more into the cartoony potential of BatIM’s premise.
Probably something is Not Right in the ink world due to Gent’s meddling – in this kinder cycle, something terrifying is starting to seep in that its inky residents don’t understand, which would give space for Inky Horrors and the usual industrial elements that, in this new world, would be Out Of Place and upsetting.
One neat option would be if you’re trying to learn enough to escape to the real world and find Audrey, the only person who could fix it. As established in BatIM, characters (like you) need a soul to exist in the real world, so if you find enough Real memories of the Real Person behind your creation, maybe that can give you one.
That’s 5 characters listed in the first point, and there’s usually 5 chapters, so each character getting one chapter could theoretically work – you’d need a pretty tight story arc for each if you went this route, but it would enable doing multiple perspectives, which I think would be cool. Bonus points if each person you can play as can find a different Piece of what’s really going on, and once you have all five, you get a new game plus of sorts where you learn the Horrible Truth
Obviously there’s probably some deeply foreshadowed thing where you do escape at the end, but find yourself in the Gent labs. I just think it would be fun to see these half-cartoon people wander around in the real world. You can have an optimistic “Audrey’s been captured by Gent and we save her” ending or a horrifying “you’re not even the first [insert character here] we’ve just been replacing you with new ones every time one of you gets out” vibe
Or you could treat each character as its own "route" and do fun things with multiple endings – don’t collect enough memories and you come out of the machine as horrible sludge and get destroyed immediately; collect all of your memories and come out okay but get immediately captured and get a bad ending; collect all 5 characters’ memories and get the new game plus where you ALL leave the machine together and are able to avoid getting captured and explore the real life Gent building, taking advantage of your cartoon nature to get into somewhere you're not supposed to be
This is less of a “ooo what are you hoping for” and more of a IN AN IDEAL WORLD WHAT COULD ENTICE ME. idk if its a GOOD idea, but it’s a concept that fits the genre and the lore set up so far, that would actually be interesting to me!

Up today, s5e3: Free to Be You and Me
Sam and Dean have gone their separate ways for now, and this episode splits time between the two as they each have their own adventures. Sammy is incognito and working as a bartender, doing his best to stave off the annoying advances of a coworker, who eventually finds out that people who try to get close to him get held at knifepoint by hurt-butt hunters mad at Sam for starting the apocalypse then quitting the biz (or worse - EXPELLED). Meanwhile Dean and Cas go looking for Raphael to pump him for info on where God ran off to, the whole time giving each other Looks and throwing all sorts of poorly-disguised gay references at each other. Just make out, already, yeesh. Turns out Raphael is 100% that d-bag and God’s nowhere to be found. Dean and Cas then have a heart-to-heart in Baby, during which Dean claims he’s happier without Sam around. Cas smells manure. More tortured loving glances. THEN, cut to Sammy dreaming about Jess, who turns out to be Lucifer trying to gaslight his best vessel. Lots of fraught going on here, folks.

2x11, Plathings
Critical theory: Incompatibility of constructed masculinity and the parent role (motherhood).
Discussion question(s): Once again, who is more like John?
Sam tells Dean to kill him if he turns evil, just like John did.
Key quotes: Dean, “Yeah, well, Dad’s an ass! I mean, you don’t do that, you don't lay that kinda crap on your kids.”

Discussion: 1) they always salt the bones to make sure, so why didn’t they? 2) cringe to grow up in a house with a swimming pool and not know how to swim. 3) how the fuck do neither Sam or Dean know CPR? Or do fucking anything to try and revive Tyler? Weird.
This episode feels different. Writer seems to have only done No Exit aside from this—an episode in which they also don’t salt + burn, they do a cement burial. Weird. Writer Matt Witten did these two in season 2, but no more. I loved the cameral work and the director, Charles Beeson, also directed The Rapture, Changing Channels. and the French Mistake. King.
Sam insisted on taking the job, pushed Dean into it and then… gets drunk and leaves the work to Dean? Pushes Dean into promising to kill him, which like… Isn’t gonna work? If Dean doesn’t want to kill Sam, then he’s not gonna do it. It’s giving The Good Place—saving people to prove that you’re a good person isn’t gonna work, Sammy.
Dean is overtly fucking suicidal and ready to die, is desperate for a break, and he is just ignored and forced back on the job over and over again.
The expression that Dean makes after “overcompensating”. How exactly were we supposed to read that? What is that supposed to mean if not “Dean is closeted”. It’s fear. Sam doesn’t give a shit that people think they’re gay—Dean is sacred.
Re: further reading. Dean’s mask of masculinity is well constructed, and the fact that someone might be able to see past it is terrifying.

wrote a short mini-fic about my loves <3
gender neutral (but masc coded) darlin, domestic fluff, darlin/sam. under the cut so it doesn’t take up tons of space on people’s dashboards lol
It had been a long day. Darlin’ had gone out with a few of their packmates on a job early that morning, only minutes after Sam returned from patrols. They had exchanged a few drowsy words and quick kisses before Sam’s mate had to hurry off to get dressed and ready for work. They had barely stayed for long enough to drink their coffee and eat the food Sam had grabbed from William’s (the King always liked to have pastries and snacks around for any human guests).
Sam had slept until around one, since Darlin’ was meant to get off work by one-thirty, only to see a text from them. A packmate had developed a migraine and couldn’t make it in, so they had picked up her shift. They wouldn’t be home until later that evening. Sam was disappointed, but not upset with them. He couldn’t be. They were doing something kind for their packmate, just as they always tried to do. It was in their nature. He couldn’t begrudge them that. He could silently pout about it in the privacy and comfort of their home, though.
He’d spent the free hours doing anything he could think of. He cleaned the house, changed the sheets, reorganized the closet (grabbing one of Darlin’s work hoodies to wear when his chest tightened at the thought of them being home so late), prepared ingredients for dinner, anything that came to mind. Distraction tended to help, but it wasn’t doing much for him, at the moment. He just kept thinking about his mate, and how empty the house felt without them.
Sam was distantly aware that his crushing longing for the shifter was likely being amplified by the fact that they’d both had incredibly busy weeks. Their time together had been severely limited, and that was definitely taking its toll. He just wanted his Darlin’. He wanted them to come home, help him cook, eat dinner, and hold him on the couch while they ignored some shitty horror movie that they loved to laugh at together in favor of talking and kissing and enjoying each other’s company.
The sun had set hours ago by the time he heard the key being slipped into the lock. Sam’s head shot up, and internally he cringed at the thought that he was acting like some kind of dog missing its person. Whatever. It didn’t matter. He had missed his Darlin’, and he wanted to see them. He stood and hurried to greet the exhausted wolf at the door.
“Hey, baby,” their gruff voice, the most beautiful sound in the world, greeted him as they shed their jacket and kicked off their shoes. Sam took the jacket and hung it on its hook, then gently pulled them into a tight hug. Darlin’s eyes widened as they let their arms wrap around Sam, holding him just as tight. “Baby?”
“‘M happy you’re home,” he mumbled into their chest. “Missed ya.”
“I missed you, too, Sammy,” they responded, pressing a kiss to his temple. As they went to pull away, Sam whined, and they chuckled.
“No,” Sam said, tightening his grip. “Stay.”
“Cher, I just want to sit down,” Darlin’ assured him. “I’ll hold you as long as you want, but my feet are kinda sore, and I’d like to rest ‘em a bit. Can we move this hug to the couch?”
After a few seconds, Sam nodded, and Darlin’ tugged him over to the sofa, flopping down and pulling him to lay on top of them. Sam let himself fall onto them, relaxing into their warm arms. He felt himself shudder when their hand raised to run through his hair, gently detangling and pulling and petting in a way Darlin’ knew he melted for.
“Wanna make the most of tonight,” Sam eventually said, breaking the silence. “You’ve got another long job tomorrow, and you won’t be home ‘till late.” Darlin’ nuzzled the crown of his head, laying little kisses along his hairline and releving in the way Sam relaxed into their touch.
“Actually, Christian said he’d take my shift tomorrow, as thanks for picking up Arden’s tonight,” they explained, and Sam couldn’t help the relieved laugh that spilled from his chest. He pressed his face into Darlin’s shoulder.
“Remind me to thank him. We’re stayin’ in bed at least until ten, maybe eleven. It’s been far too long since I last got to hold ya captive in bed.”
“Baby, you know I’ll get bored and fidgety by nine,” Darlin’ laughed. Sam shifted his head so he could look up at his mate from under his lashes.
“I’ll have you know I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to keep you entertained, if that’s what you’re worried about, Darlin’.” The shifter rolled their eyes, smiling fondly.
“Ah, so you’re planning to make me wear myself out, then. Can’t say I’m complaining. Honestly, though, any time I get to spend with you is a gift.”
“I’ve missed you so much, Darlin’.”
“I’ve missed you too, Sammy.”
