It's actually fascinating to me how social media is becoming more important and less important at the same time. Because everything is about social media. Everyone is influenced. Everyone is spending hours of their day. Everyone knows everything.
But at the same time - I remember 2010, 2012, when people were organising their parties and birthdays on Facebook and creating fun little groups and stuff and you know which of your friends were there. You used to talk about posts and everyone would react to yours. No one does that anymore, at least in my age group/social group. They're on various messengers, but they're all deleting or barely using public real name profiles these days and they're not even announcing that they delete and I don't notice because these accounts usually have been dead for years. Social media is no longer the place where I find everyone from work or everyone from my old school or this guy I just met. It's just angry strangers and corporations and news.
I've seen a lot of people talk about the concept of a formal SOLDIER uniform, and a handful have doodled it, but in general I see it portrayed as a more real-world classic European uniform—which looks great, but doesn't really track with the fact that the standard SOLDIER uniform, regardless of class, features like...faux-corsets and chest harnesses? Thigh-high boots?
If the standard uniform is slightly-repurposed fetish wear, I don't assume the formal uniform would be less dramatic.

This is naturally the first thing I checked, right after opening package
Redanian Fish Soup
Gossip is known to fly like the wind. Yet it passes even more swiftly along Oxenfurt's thoroughfares. In one instance, there were rumors of a vampire roaming the city streets. Folk wisdom on one's best defense against a bloodsucker has long been passed down by word of mouth. Debates continue over the relative merits of a stake through the heart versus a swift blow with a wagon axle to the demon's head. Oxenfurt's chefs proved particularly ingenious at one point when they opted to take matters into their own skilled hands. Following another well known superstition, they added vast amounts of garlic to their menus, creating distinctive, memorable dishes. My personal favorites include a filling fish soup served by a chef who runs a kitchen down by the docks. Made with onion, carrot, parsley, and celery, heavily enriched with aromatic garlic perfectly complementing flavorful tomatoes, this simple soup requires no straining thanks to the inclusion of filleted fish--a trick the resourceful chef had learned from an herbalist he had met in Dillingen.
Hey there, Mister Ondolemar! You may remember me, you asked me to steal a bard's Talos amulet for you a few months ago. I didn't take you up on the offer but I've been thinking how weird that was ever since. I just have to ask you, what use would it be to have a Talos amulet you couldn't prove came from that bard in the first place? Were you planning on calling me in front of the Jarl or some Legion commander to testify where I found it and how I burgled a local citizen's house on your orders?
Ondolemar: You over-estimate Nords, my larcenous friend. They need only a nudge to spill out all their pathetic secrets. Take a Nord's precious family amulet and he's as likely to angrily demand it back as he is to continue his pretence of innocence.
But it doesn't really matter how this target chooses to react. If he admits to worshiping Talos, we put a heretic in prison and end his spread of heresy. If he publicly repudiates the amulet, the other Nords see how little he actually cares for his god and his family's honour. You don't think anyone will be asking for the secret lays of Blessed Talos from the skald who swore Talos was no god, do you? Imprisonment or public derision, either benefits us. All we need is cause to demand his oath.
The offer is still on the table if you're interested.
so does anybody else ever get big feelings thinking about how Valbrendhür and Vatnir's voices sound almost exactly alike? yeah because they have the same voice actor but also because Valbrendhür found and raised Vatnir from infancy, so he must have picked up Valbrendhür's accent and speech patterns and vocal quirks growing up? or is it just me
Sometimes when my dad and I take my grandma's dog for a walk, we see houses where they've got the curtains wide open and you can see what they're watching on TV
On today's walk, we actually saw someone playing Mario Kart, and it was Double Dash specifically which was surprising. It was only one person playing and they were on Daisy Cruiser
Idk if the person playing was either:
An adult Nintendo fan, or
A kid whose parents played the GameCube back in the day and passed it down to them (similar to how I played the SNES when I was a kid even though it was the early 2000s, because my parents used to play it before I was born)
Either way, it's fun to know that there's someone in my grandma's suburb that's a GameCube Enjoyer... Makes me wish I could find people to play Double Dash (or various other games) with 😔 They exist, but I don't know how to find them
What if Qin Su's ghost brought down the temple instead. I don't even just mean she gets to off JGY. I mean she gently sweeps the two children and the dog outside and just DEMOLISHES everyone else because OH? YOU THINK IT'S FUNNY TO BE INDIFFERENT TO SOMEONE'S ABRUPT DEMISE BC IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU PERSONALLY? WELL SHE'S ABOUT TO BE FUCKING HILARIOUS.
lae'zel and shadowheart should have been the companions that hook up canonically if left unromanced like isabela/fenris, iron bull/dorian, and garrus/tali
I really hate the way my favorite artists are treated by the general public. Most of them are women so basically all of them are mistreated in some way and it’s so goddamn exhausting.
i have so much fun with ffxiv bc like. me and my friends that play have a wol team and we roleplay tons when we're able to all be on at the same time
sure it takes forever to actually progress bc we're all having hours-long scenes after story events to work out the impact on everyone and, in some cases, who was impacted more than the others (like thorgeim being the one who got framed during that one incident, whereas the dragoon wol had a lot of specific stuff during heavensward, etc)
i'm told there's some shit later on that Complicates the wol-team idea but i don't want spoilers and i'm confident we can work it out when we get there so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
