suna is painfully aware of how beautiful you are, and suna is incredibly smug about it, to the point that it’s almost annoying

you’re always being posted on his stories and on his instagram. he likes to show you off, absolutely, but he also loves to rub it in people’s faces lmfao. he’ll take any and all types of pictures, ones of you alone with the sunset highlighting your face, you across the table from him on a date, some ramen halfway through your mouth, a selfie of the two of you where his hand’s resting around your throat 

you can’t convince me suna doesn’t know how to do makeup. at the very least, eyeliner. he will put it on you, just to have fun, cup your chin in his hand when he’s done and say some shit like, “ain’t my baby pretty?” that’ll have your stomach reeling cause wtf you can’t just!!! say something like that!!! with an expression like that!!! 

nine times out of ten he’s the one flustering you, especially when you dress up and go all out for him. 

but it’s actually when you’re most casual that his breath’s like completely stolen from him. he doesn’t know why but seeing your natural hair a little messy, barefaced aside cherry chapstick on your lips and your cheeks naturally red, your clothes completely casual, either some sweatpants or jeans and a sweatshirt, or if you’re a girl, some tennis skirt or sundress you found in your closet. it’s not that it looks like you put in no effort. it’s more that you don’t need to put in any effort and yet, here you are, looking absolutely breathtaking 

listen, like i said, suna knows you’re beautiful. he’s aware that you’re pretty, you really don’t have to tell him. he can look at your face all day. but it just really, really ticks him off when people say it to him like he doesn’t know. his love language isn’t very explicit or loud, so to an outsider, he seems unaffectionate, but that really isn’t the case. 

he hates when people assume he’s taking you for granted, because really, there’s nothing he appreciates more, nothing he’s more thankful for, nothing he loves more, than you.

but he adores them so much and whenever he sees you smile really brightly he kinda sighs dreamily and his shoulders sag a little and he smiles ever the slightest he is head over heels with you on god

ushijima considers you being beautiful not an opinion, but a straight up fact. like he will argue with anyone to the death that disagrees. he’ll just be like 😐are u blind tf 

i don’t think he’s possessive about it, honestly. if anything, he’s sort of really proud at how everyone is so infatuated with you. not for himself and for scoring you, but genuinely he’s happy for you, for getting all this appreciation 

that being said, he is insanely protective over you. yeah he likes that people always have to do a double take when looking at you cause woah! but don’t look for too long. he knows it tends to make you uncomfortable, and it makes him uncomfortable too. 

he has you as his lockscreen and he always smiles so lovingly when he reaches for his phone. don’t ask him to check the time on his phone he will get sidetracked and end up staring at his s/o’s photo for far too long. 

he also really loves complimenting you, and one of his nicknames for you is literally “beautiful.” 

omg he’ll be waiting for you, sitting on your bed, as you change into an outfit for your date with him and when you come out he looks up and just smiles and gives you a thumbs up, and says, “perfect, as always, my love.” oh my god. 

and whenever you two are alone ushijima turns 100% softer, like he genuinely just melts with you, especially when you’re cuddling him in bed and he’s just trapping you in his arms. that’s when he admires you most, with his face so close to yours. he loves to just trace your features, kissing your lips, whispering against them how he’s so lucky and you’re so pretty

it’s at a moment like that one that he notices your dimples for the first time. he’s just admiring you up-close and he accidentally tickles you so you laugh and squirm and his eyes go wide, and he looks in awe, and in the softest voice ever as he traces at the indentations, “that’s so cute.” like his voice is so low and so soft and he sounds so in love because he is so in love 

his new wallpaper is now you, but smiling brightly enough that your dimples show

i stand by the statement that kuroo is an absolute dork around his crush. will probably embarrass himself multiple times in front of you. and the fact that you’re as beautiful as you are? it makes it ten times worse. like your eyes. why are they so pretty. what are words. why isn’t his brain working

okay but as your boyfriend, he’s so annoying. greets you every morning in the loudest voice ever, “how is my most beautiful, most gorgeous, most favorite person ever doing on this fine morning!” 

pick up lines. always. never ending. he sends them to you on text, instead of a cute good morning text like normal boyfriends would do. so you wake up and instead of seeing “good morning beautiful 💖” you see “are you a parking ticket? cause you’ve got fine written all over you” like kuroo baby that is so overused 

he still does it though 

also posts you just as much as suna but they’re all really chaotic pictures. things like him taking a photo in the dark with the flash on, his entire hand just covering your face, or he’ll take a picture of you as you’re choking on some food and probably make a sex joke out of it on his snapchat too. or just a picture of you sleeping really peacefully on his chest but in the frame you can also see a marker uncapped, and everybody’s comments are always like “kuroo no!” but he’s always like “too late rip”

he might not seem like it, but he is possessive. like he seems really laidback, and it’s not that he doesn’t trust you, or that he doesn’t think you can handle yourself either, because neither are true. it’s more that he doesn’t trust other people, especially because he knows how beautiful you are and how even if he’s with you people come up and shamelessly ask for you number. it’s why he’s as possessive as he is. he’s definitely gotten you a necklace with his initials on it at some point too

kuroo is always making you laugh, so him discovering you have dimples comes pretty early on. when he made you laugh hard enough that your dimples appeared, he just chuckled to himself, grabbed your face and squished it and in a higher pitched voice went “so cute!” 

now every time they appear he does that. he has to grab your face, and a lot of the times, he kisses your cheek too. not a light peck, nah, a big, wet smooch like mwah baby couldn’t resist hehe

in a much-needed return to this blog's roots, and as an antidote to all motorsport- and life-related chaos, i now present to you: the first edition of em's favorite retro rally videos!

general disclaimer/info: these videos mainly come from the group B era of the world rally championship (wrc), which generally speaking was in the '80s. i am only human, so expect a lot of bias toward my personal favorites...which will become very apparent as you read this list hehe. also i'm not even gonna pretend to be an expert on this or anything. a lot of these are literally just based on Vibes

in which my bias toward audi sport, mouton/pons, mikkola, toivonen, and vatanen are put on blast for all to see 🥴 i am not an expert in anything i am just very good at research and a whore for aud—[SNIPED]. for the sake of brevity, i narrowed my favorites down to 5. maybe another time i will share all the rest!

also, a general note about the commentary: sometimes, the commentary around michèle and fabrizia can get... weird. keep in mind, they were the most prominent female team partnership around that time, and the first to nearly clinch a wrc wdc, and to modern ears, the commentators really didn't know how to act around them. personally, it wasn't horrible for me, i just ignored the weirder bits, but i understand if others might find it off-putting. also for the sake of your sanity don't read the comments.

5. Rally of the 1000 Lakes, 1984 | finland

comments: this was definitely a rally for most of audi sport's drivers to forget: bar stig blomqvist, who came quite close to the podium finishers with a 4:14:01 to henri toivonen's 4:12:57! both hannu mikkola and michèle mouton had to retire from the race, which may lead you to wonder: why does this rank among my favorites? well, it's always fun to watch group b rally cars sailing through the air against picturesque scenery, and this video also contains an intriguing (at least for me!) look at the scrutineering process, with drivers at their most casual.

4. Lombard RAC Rally, 1981 | britain

comments: hannu winning by 11 whole minutes even after rolling his car in the middle of the forest is actual legend behavior! anyway this was michèle's first wrc outing in britain, and even though she and fabrizia had to retire, they still did quite well, consistently running high in the leaderboards after the first few stages. and that's considering the fact that michèle had a bad cold for much of the rally and had to ask fabrizia to drive the car to service park for her at one point bc she was so tired. which fabrizia did... with a pencil in her mouth. lot of big names in one video—also, jean todt makes an appearance as a co-driver!

3. Marlboro Safari Rally, 1983 | kenya

comments: ok can i just say how stunning the video presentation is?? the opening sequence is just!!! the shots of the wildlife! the sprinting giraffes! wow! anyway the visual of drivers in deck chairs just tickles me for no reason, and michèle please tell me what you ask for at the hairdresser's and also where you got that orange blouse (this is obviously not just specific to this rally, she always eats and leaves no crumbs). this was michèle's first entry and only finish in kenya (and of course it was a podium mwah). it was also her last wrc entry in the A1 quattro, as she switched to the A2 for the rest of her program in the '83 season. also this is one of my favorite podium pictures ever.

lksdjffnnkd there's almost too much to unpack... fabrizia somehow surviving in high waist jeans in a hot car... michèle's do-it-yourself shorts... this podium picture was the subject of a very frantic video chat conversation between myself and a friend at 2am a few months ago

comments: GOD I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH AAAA! michèle's first podium of '82 being a win? this rally being the one where there's footage of her going shopping with fabrizia afterward? (more on that later) them winning by 13 whole minutes? and that's not even considering THEE most poetic victory ceremony of all time! in fact let me talk about that bc the racing and the win aside, that's why it's so high up on my list! literally poetic cinema! it's night, they're standing on top of the car and floodlit and surrounded by cheering crowds but they may as well be the only ones there in their own little world, laughing at each other and barely even having to look to each other when they're raising their hands—like god! shut up! we get it you're besties 😭

comments: firstly, if you were to ask me about my dream podium, this would be it. hands down, across all series of motorsport, my comfort podium would be hannu, michèle, and henri in any order. (there's such a cute picture of them from this rally on pinterest, standing in order on a staircase. henri is not looking at the camera because he is laughing at something michèle is saying and it's such a Vibe but i cannot find it wah). the battle for second between michèle and henri ran down to literally the last stage, and their times are separated by seconds, which is just wild to me. the context of this rally deserves another post, which i honestly don’t have the energy to make rn, but just take my word for it that it threatens to destroy me if i think about it too hard! anyway this is just such an awesome rally and i’ve watched this video so many times haha

i love this rally so much that i actually had a character in a story i was writing attend the ceremony captured in this picture as a small child and made it a formative moment in her life. no, there is nothing wrong with me.

'2008 Otago International Classic Rally' (eng) - THE BESTIES REUNITE THE BESTIES REUNITE!!! michèle and fabrizia reunite for a rally that fabrizia convinced michèle to join, they suffer some problems but there are plenty of wholesome bestie moments to be had

'Michele Mouton hurls Group B Audi Quattro up Goodwood hill' (eng) - i mean, self explanatory. the sound of the chirping tires? asmr could never. very short watch if you want a quick pick-me-up

'1990 Louise Aitken-Walker feature' (eng) - a video featuring a female rally driver from scotland and her point-scoring run at the rallye monte -carlo. i am convinced that louise was john finnemore’s inspiration or at least an influence for the character of linda fairbairn. no my hat is not made of tin foil what are you talking about

1) “His Hands” by bkdkwritingsdump (1K). short and sweet established bkdk with my fav trope which is hand holding...

2) “Luciferin” by Ivoreverie (2K). the self indulgent soft katsuki getting together fluff fic that i ghostwrote akdnajda nah but seriously this is just sooo sweet. 

3)  “Package Deal” by celestialgunfireopera (5K). a rlly good izuku introspection fic w cute as heck bkdk!!! i love the way this author makes them get together.

4) “still feel” by supercrunch (8K). aaahh this was just really warm. this author is one of my favs tbh! supercrunch and iciclebeanbags are my humour inspo authors lmao.

Teen and Up Audiences

1)  "Kiss It Better" by bergbath (4K). i have re-read this countless times oh my god. it just warms me and makes me smile like crazy.

2)  "infused" by neckbrace (11K). this one is one of my inspiration fics!!!!!! it introduced me to the romantic tension tag which i adore. i will just never get over how soft and perfect this fic is.

3)  "the floor ain't so bad (when you're looking up)" by thispieceofmind (14K). i rlly enjoy bkdk interacting privately & growing closer, so this was a balm to my heart.

4)  "Drumming Noise" by iciclebeanbags (@face-family) (32K). i always rec this bc it’s one of my all time faves!! it's hilarious and moving and so in character that it feels 100% canon. [i also rec every single one of their fics bc they are all just absolutely gorgeous. “You Make A Fool Of Love” is the sequel to this and it is BREATHTAKING. Mind the tags! It is E rated!]

1)  "The Only Hell I Know Is Without You" by ChromaKi (@chroma-ki) (10K). this is just so passionate and gave me so many emotions omg. i got the tingles all over fr (their fic “Two Hearts, One Mind” has also been dear to my heart for a while now).

2) “warm hands” by flowercafe (20K). i only read this recently but it was soo UGGHHH just SO beautiful oh my gosh. once again.. the hand holding.. i’m weak for it. note: the last chapter hasn’t been posted (it’s been a while too) but the good news is that the second last chapter could be read as the last chapter bc it sounds a bit like a finale ahaha

3)  "Notice Me, Nerd" by useless_donut (40K). this one is just HILARIOUS! truly one of the funniest and entertaining fics i've ever had the pleasure of reading. i’m a sucker for gay panicking and obliviousness

4)  "last days of war" by antisora (44K). this is one of my all time favourites! it might make more sense if you've watched pacific rim but i know ppl who haven't watched it and still enjoyed it!! it’s just.. beautiful.

4)  "Intersecting Lines" by roadtripwithlucifer (@roadtripwithlucifer). (124K). this fic is such a perfect balance of breathtaking plot and Straight Horny... also the ending is absolutely beautiful and i can shamelessly say that it made me cry. sighs. [i also recommend their ongoing fic "Battle of the Bands" which is another masterpiece, but since it's not finished yet that is entirely up to u!]
